My Top 5 Games of 2020
As we are about to move on to 2021, thank gawd, there are many things to reflect on, but my content is escapism, so I’m not about to get all deep in that right now. Instead let’s talk about the thing that probably helped millions of people survive 2020, video games! Here are my Top 5, and oh boy, I wouldn’t be surprised if I got some hate for this. Minor rules for this, no remasters, definitive editions, ports to other systems or anything of that sort will be on this list, because they deserve their own lists. whether or not I write them. No PS5 games will be here, and I mean anything that’s on PS5, because I didn’t get one, and I didn’t play anything that’s on PS5 either, even if it had a PS4 version, so I can’t count those on this list, because that would be cheating. Oh and, if you’re wondering why it’s only a top 5, it’s because I spent more time playing older games and growing my games collection this year, than actually playing new games. So, yeah let’s get into it.
5. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
I am honestly shocked this is here, but whatever reason, I love this game. Everything from the visual style, to the combat, to even exploring the semi-open world is great. One thing that really shocked me about this game, was the sidequests. Not all of them were great, and of course there were fetch quests all over the place in this game, but the ones I really enjoyed, were the quests where they went into the characters depths of the characters from the anime, by having quests themed around things they would do. Even if they were sometimes joke storylines like Yamcha getting into trouble with girls because that’s something he would do. I even liked the car driving quests, even if I think the stats were maxed out a little too easily. The main story is of course, pretty typical because it’s one we’ve seen a thousand times before, but even then, if it’s a story you like, it can be enjoyed because it’s more in depth there than any games in the series has been in the past. DBZ Kakarot does everything with the story that the Legacy of Goku games did back on the Gameboy Advance, but for the modern era, and I loved every second of it.
4. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Another shocker for me personally, because I’m not the biggest fan of...Breath of the Wild (not what you were expecting to hear was it?) but I really liked Age of Calamity. One thing that can often feel daunting in Warriors games, is the branching paths system that some of them use, and also, surprisingly, how much levels can matter in them. In Age of Calamity, the branching paths were not there, at least not in the typical sense, avoiding that problem for me, and if levels do matter, they managed to avoid that one by having several smaller missions for characters to do that were great for leveling them up without you having to spend all your rupees to catch them up, which also meant not having to spend as much time grinding for money as some warriors games have you do. The story of Age of Calamity is also fantastic, doing a much better job of making players care about the champions, and their closet friends and allies than Breath of the Wild did. Zelda isn’t always that focused on story in it’s games, despite having some good ones in the past, but Age of Calamity, really did a good job of it, and is probably the first game in the series to make me actually get emotional. It’s an impressive feat through and through, and it makes the warriors format work for it, by having everything take place during a war. It’s a complete package of a game, that is a thrilling and unique experience, never really seen in a warriors type game.
3. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV.
If you know me, you might be shocked to hear that this game is only number three for me, but it is. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not fantastic! The culmination of over a decade of games, met an amazing conclusion in this final instalment of the Cold Steel arc. I know this game has it’s detractors, but I don’t see why. The story is fantastic, the character moments are numerous yet not overwhelming or pushy, as they just make sense within the story itself. The combat is as good as always, and despite the change in VA’s for the English release, the acting is as good as it’s always been. To finally see a story come to a conclusion that is built up so well, that has spent so much time making sure it gets everything as right as it possibly can, is a reward all it’s own, and there’s something to be said about finally seeing some characters get what’s coming to them, after years of feeling like it was so close, but never happened. Characters like Juna, Kurt, Rean, Lloyd, Estelle, and so many others, working together was a fantastic sight, and if you’re wondering why I’m focusing in on characters so much, it’s because they are what make The Legend of Heroes what it is, and they are the reason this series is so engaging. I loved every minute of this experience, and the only reason it’s not number one, is because somehow, two games came out this year, that shocked me to my core. Make no mistake though, any of these top three games could have ended up as number one.
2. The Last of Us Part II
And here is where the controversy really starts. The Last of Us Part II needs no defense, because those that have an issue with it, seemingly either didn’t finish the game, or were spoiled on it, and couldn’t look past what they heard, instead of what they could have felt playing it. The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece. It tells a special kind of story that really only works in the world it exists in, it has some of the best written characters ever, new or old, it has some of the most wonderful levels ever created in gaming, and unlike the first game, is truly a horror experience. I wouldn’t by any means say it’s better than the original, I think that would be foolish to say, but it stands as one of the greats not only in this generation, but in gaming in general. The deaths in the game are done in a way that makes sense, that adds to the plot in a way that helps you feel the sense of loss that the characters feel. Yes, there is one death in it that will forever leave many people upset, but how it’s explained, how it makes sense that it happens, is nothing short of amazing. The Last of Us Part II, is nothing short of amazing, and I loved every second of it. I do wish that Naughty Dog had managed the game better, and it’s going to be hard to enjoy anything from them in the future if they don’t, but I can’t deny, that the game that actually had me sobbing through the credits, isn’t one of the best games ever made, because it is, and I feel sorry for anyone who didn’t understand that.
1. Ghost of Tsushima.
I. Loved. This. Game. It may not have the best story of any game on this list, in fact, I think the ending actually takes away from the real life event that it’s based on, but everything else about it is as close to perfect as you can get. The beautiful world, the fact that you can really tell that culture was priority number one when building the world this game has, just sets it apart from everything else. The fact that the combat is the most engaging combat of this year, is almost just a plus, because everything else was just so perfect. Ghost of Tsushima is a reminder that sometimes, gaming can really surpass just being a form of entertainment, but also a fun way to learn about culture. The beautiful world of Tsushima, is something that cannot be properly explained, but that has to be experienced. The fact that I played the game, and at times only felt like I was playing a game, instead of living in a world different from my own, when certain missions would come up that reminded me of that fact, the engagement was just that intense. I was absorbed into the world that Sucker Punch created, and I enjoyed every last second of it. The characters that were there, the deaths that happened, everything that was experienced in Ghost of Tsushima was to me, absolutely perfect, and for that, it wins my top spot, as my personal game of the year. I said earlier that any of the top three could change places, but honestly, that isn’t really true. Nothing comes close to GoT, and who knows when something ever will again.
And that’s my list, did I leave out any of your favorites? Let me know in the comments below, try not to hate me too much for leaving out Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and leave me a note with your opinions. Have a fantastic day.

The First Dance
(Based on this post. This was a cute idea and I really wanted to write it sorry for stealing it! @botwriter)
“It’s an honor to finally meet you in person, Princess. The stories I’ve heard do little credit to your true beauty.”
Hylia help her...
Zelda smiled politely when the man kissed her hand. She pulled it away with just a tad more force than necessary.
“You are too kind, Lord Roderick.”
“On the contrary, I think you are deserving of far more praise.”
He flashed her a toothy grin, one she had seen dozens of times now over the past six months. Amidst all the training to unlock her power, her father also found it necessary to introduce her to every eligible bachelor he could find. The grand balls held every time were just for show really. The real goal was to find her a suitable husband to rule by her side one day.
The thought was...unpleasant. Zelda knew she would one day rule her father’s kingdom. Despite growing up with this fact, she still couldn’t seriously see herself in the role. Every time she pictured herself perched high on the throne, dressed in the finest of regal attire, poised and perfect, it honestly made her want to laugh because that girl she pictured was not her.
For some reason her father couldn’t see that. No one could, save for one person, who she happened to spot on the opposite side of the throne room just then.
The other Champions were with him, all dressed in the fine regalia of their homelands. Her knight, however, true to his nature wore a more understated outfit. Black boots, gray pants, an embroidered navy blue vest over a white regency shirt. His hair was still done back in his signature ponytail, but the rest of it was slicked down in a manner far more organized than his usual mess. The simple, yet refined look suited him nicely. And Zelda couldn’t help noticing how it complimented her own navy blue dress. Even the white embroidering on her sleeves and shoulder-less neckline mirrored his vest.
Zelda suddenly spotted Urbosa giving her a coy look, and she realized that the similarity wasn’t just coincidence.
Cheeky.
“Princess, may I have the honor of the first dance?” Lord Roderick asked suddenly, snapping her focus away. His query startled her, as she had all but forgotten he was there. A voice in the back of her mind wished he had truly disappeared.
“I appreciate your offer, Lord Roderick, however I am not one for dancing.”
“Nonsense!” the lord declared. “I have seen you share the first dance many times with your knight. He seems to be the only person you ever dance with in fact.”
Zelda was surprised at his blunt accusation. However, he wasn’t wrong.
Her knight was the only person she ever danced with. He seemed to understand that she despised dancing with her father’s suitors, and in perfect knightly fashion he always swooped in to save her. At first he did it because she told him to. Recently though he seemed to do it because he enjoyed the looks on the suitor’s faces, if his sly little smile as he walked her to the dance floor was any indication. Tormenting the entitled nobility was an unspoken and shared interest of theirs.
“Well, I trust him to behave as a gentleman,” Zelda replied smoothly. Lord Roderick seemed put off by the subtle accusation.
“Yes, well, I am sure that despite his gentlemanly nature, his skills on the dance floor leave much to be desired. He is very unbalanced for a knight. One cannot help wondering if he can truly perform on a battlefield if he cannot handle a simple waltz!” Lord Roderick finished with a snicker.
Zelda’s knight admittedly wasn’t the best dancer. How could he be? His life was consumed by training and a dedication to the Master Sword that echoed her own duty to her sacred power. There was no time to learn how to properly dance. Lord Roderick’s blatant insult to her knight’s skills infuriated her, and she was just about to tell him off when a hand tapped her shoulder. Zelda turned to see a pair of soft blue eyes looking at her.
“Ah, the appointed knight himself,” Lord Roderick said tightly next to her, “we were just talking about you.”
Link just nodded in reply. Zelda noticed a slight twitch in Lord Roderick’s eye, and she fought to suppress a giggle.
“Anyway. Princess, the dance?” Lord Roderick continued. He reached out to take her hand, but she pulled away.
“My Lord,” Zelda said with the utmost regality, “as I said before I appreciate your offer. However, as you have already so acutely noticed, I prefer to share the first dance solely with my appointed knight. Now if you will excuse us.”
Zelda reached out her hand, and without a word her knight took it and led her to the dance floor. Once she was sure they were out of earshot Zelda let herself giggle freely.
“Another success I think. He’ll be nursing his pride for days.”
Her knight smiled slyly.
The crowd parted and bowed as they walked to the center of the room. The rules of the game were clear: the Princess’ first dance was always a solo one between her and her chosen partner. It was meant as a sign of respect, but Zelda suspected it was more to allow easier judgement by the nobility. As much as she appreciated her knight always joining her in it, she did feel bad that he had to be subjected to their scrutinizing gazes. Lord Roderick’s statements were proof enough that people were judging both of them.
That was why she was so grateful that he danced with her anyway. He understood what it was to be constantly evaluated. He knew that pressure and what it could do to someone. He experienced it every day, just like she did.
How could she possibly want to dance with anyone else?
The music began, slow and soft, and her knight lifted their still joined hands into the air. His other hand found her waist, and Zelda did her best to ignore the slight flutter her heart gave at his touch. She placed her free hand on his shoulder, and with that they began.
She was expecting to feel a sharp pressure on the edge of her shoe any moment now, but as the seconds passed Zelda noticed how smoothly they moved across the dance floor. Her knight’s steps were more confident than two weeks ago, his grip on her waist and hand more sure. The surprise must have been obvious, because her knight gave her a triumphant grin. Zelda laughed as they continued to drift easily.
“You look beautiful tonight.”
His sudden compliment caught her by surprise. Heat rose in her cheeks, and she looked down to hide it and her smile.
“You look dashing as well,” she replied quickly, composing herself before looking back up. “Tell me, how did you learn to dance like this?”
Her knight blushed then too and looked into the crowd. “Urbosa taught me.”
Zelda followed his gaze and easily spotted the tall Gerudo champion. She gave them both a little wave and a wink.
Very cheeky.
“Did she?” Zelda asked. “I’ll have to thank her later on behalf of my toes.”
Her knight chuckled. Zelda looked back up at him and smiled softly.
“Thank you for saving me again by the way. I don’t think Lord Rorderick would have let up if you hadn’t arrived when you did.”
“Pushy prick,” he muttered. If they hadn’t been dancing in front of so many people, Zelda would have slapped him on the shoulder. She still gave him a disapproving glare. Her knight gave her a questioning look before smirking and raising an eyebrow that said “Are you really going to defend him?”
She rolled her eyes and huffed, but couldn’t suppress her smile. “You are insufferable.”
“You’ve said that before.”
“And I still mean it.”
They both knew she didn’t.
The song faded out a few moments later. Applause filled the room before couples filled in the dance floor around them. The rest of the night was surprisingly enjoyable for Zelda. She spent most of it conversing with her Champions, who all made a point to keep Lord Roderick as far away from her as possible, much to her father’s dismay. She even danced a few more times with her knight, whose sudden prowess did not go unnoticed by the crowd. Zelda was proud of him.
In the early hours of the morning, after all the guests had departed, he walked her back to her room. Before he could reach out to open her door for her, Zelda placed a hand on his arm.
“Thank you again,” she said, suddenly nervous. “I had a wonderful time tonight.”
He smiled at her. “So did I.”
She smiled back, but it faded slightly as a thought crossed her mind. She had planned a trip to Sanidin Park for them in the afternoon. All she had told him was that she wanted to give her horse some exercise, but there was something far more important she wanted to tell him.
She was going to make the journey to Mount Lanayru. Not just because she would finally be seventeen, but because she felt ready. Something inside her felt that things were about to change, and she hoped it was a sign things were finally going to move forward.
“Princess?”
His voice brought her back. She saw the concern in his eyes, so she shook her head and smiled.
“It’s nothing. I’m just tired. I guess I’m not used to all that dancing,” she added with a teasing smile. Her knight chuckled.
A moment of silence passed between them before he suddenly reached out and took her hand, brought it to his lips, and placed a gentle kiss upon it. Zelda felt her breath catch. He’d never done it before, and she certainly had never expected him to, but it was not unwelcome at all. If anything she was surprised by how gentle the gesture was. He released her hand before his eyes came back to hers. The look she saw in them was puzzling, exciting, and terrifying all at once.
“Goodnight Princess,” he said softly. Zelda had to remind herself how to breathe before answering.
“Goodnight.”
They stared at each other a moment longer. Finally, he bowed slightly before turning and walking away down the hall. Zelda watched him until he disappeared around a corner before turning back to her door. She exhaled deeply as she tried to process if what had just happened was real or if it was a trick of the early morning hours on her mind.
Zelda looked back over her shoulder and smiled.
“See you tomorrow, Link,” she whispered before retreating to her room.

hella spoilery zeldablogging from earlier tonight
feel kind of bad cause i had to look up the gerudo maze desert thing but i was SOOO close on my own
oh my god there's a lady over here by this shrine failing at cooking and all the recipes she teaches me give me dubious food
there are PILES of rotting garbage that have flies around them and the thing in the pot is sending up this black cloud of smoke lmao
wow the blood moon came in the middle of me clearing out an enemy camp :/
good god there's a stable out here in all this deep snow? how?? would the horses not, like, die?
aww beedle's here but he's cold ):
WOW you can upgrade the boy gerudo clothes but not the GIRL ones? that is SEXIST
oh noooo shield surfing DOES damage your shield i hate this i love my current shield what if i can't find another!!!!!
lol the ridge tower si surrounded by water and electric enemies. Great
omg i found the royal lab ruins ):
ok, i gotta begin prioritizing here
while i'd LIKE to complete all 120 shrines before i beat the game just for the armor, i don't think that's going to be possible - i haven't even unlocked some of them yet bc i don't have the snowballs or the quest takes so long
but the most important thing to me is memories
so after i check out all the ridge shrines on this map i'm gonna get the hyrule field map as well and get those memories
and i'll just save a lot and if i fuck something up and trigger endgame stuff i'll reload
god idk how to do this trial on the thunderplanes so like...im gonna let it be
see? i could never do all 120 before tmrw night
PLEASE this memory i just got was so cute zelda was being a nerd over plants and caught a frog she wanted link to eat :')
i love this zelda like i'm super not crazy about her voice actress sounding much older than i think of her as, and the fantasy british accent, but she has so much more personality than many of the others
ah, and i see now why she loved the silent proncess so...can't be grown domestically, only thrives in the wild
much like herself if you watch some of the other memories haha she feels trapped by her own destiny that's easy to see
i think it's super clever how even with a map you still have to look around for shrines bc they are hidden semi-underground
and i wish i had more time to stop and enjoy the little things like that, but i CAN come back and explore later, i can't unlearn a plot point
this spoiler fear might be a little baseless...tbh i also want to finish the main story tho bc like
i want it to be something i play in my free time, not something i obsess over 24/7 and HAVE to play and think about all the time
it's been a beautiful fun and absolutely life-changing experience but also it's been two weeks and i gotta get back to my actual life, i can't be Like This indefinitely
i'm kinda stunned that it took me this ling tbh? like, even skyyward sword was like a week and a half the first time iirc and i did that at like, a pace where i could stop and explore, i remember thinking how huge skyward sword was
omg im so glad i decided to ride epona down to where i need to go next rather than fast travel + walk bc 1. faster maybe? and 2. THE MAIN THEME PLAYS WHEN YOU'RE ON EPONA OVER THE NORMAL HORSE THEME i could weep
KASS IS BY THIS BRIDGE HI BUDDY I LOVE YOU
i solved the puzzle! this time im talking to him BEFORE i go in
he told me it was stupendous ;_; thanks pal
aw dude another memeory and it played the trailer music but
is zelda really only SIXTEEN about to turn seventeen? how old is link?? i guess under 21/18 if they wouldn't let him drink...
jesus, they're just babies ;_;
also, she quoted link's horse advice so like
this + the dialogue options gives the feeling that he does actually speak, you know? so as much as i love mute link i also like these glimpses into his personality as well, bc he's always been such a blank slate
he's empathetic, playful, sometimes downright goofy, and very tenacious - confident, but not in a cocky way, and obviously always a bit shaken when he gets a memory back
it's nice getting to know him a bit, even if you have to patch most of it together - kinda like narrachara lol
;w; it's so nice to have epona gallop over when i call her again
omg i think i found kass's house! i see his journal :3
haha i got this song "when the blood moon rises stand naked on that platform" ok nintendo
i wonder if you get all the puzzles do you get to tell him who you are ):
im tempted to unlock this one now lol
like, it takes a long time to get here and it's almost the blood moon
SIGH this is gonna take awhile but it'll save me time later
oh lmao it was JUST the blood moon so i'd actually have to wait a SUPER long time nvm tbh
well. welp. welly well well
i guess.......its time for hyrule field tower
Im Scared
wow. holy shit. i can see the great plateau from here...and it looks so small. i can see the temple of time, i can see the tower from which i first saw hyrule castle. i can even see the little path i nearly followed, when catching sight of my first moblin and becoming curious, before i got myself back on track. damn. Damn. i have come FULL CIRCLE, holy shit
and like, it's just the way i played it. hyrule castle for last. but you know? i love that shit. journeys ending the way they began. gets me in the feels every time
i'll be honest, THIS i could really stop and explore. forget those awful snowy mountains. this is where the #history is
oh god. i see a guardian down near that tower. please god don't let it be a mobile one
FUCK
i saw two still ones and relaxed and a mobile one snuck up RIGHT FUCKING BEHIND ME
[wheezing]
i don't wanna stop and grind but i worry i might HAVE to get some guardian armor before i can do this, even just one piece...!
i have a diamond circlet so all i'd need from the prof is the chest and/or legs........oh god. jesus fuck
motherFUCKER the range on those still ones, i wish i had been able to take them out...!
oh jesus i made it
this is it. final tower. thank fuck
there'll be more guardians, way more. i gotta at least check and see if i can afford some arrows without setting myself back further for the armor
i think i had all the mats i needed actually i just needed cash...maybe i can cook to earn some since i sold my monster parts
k, i only have enough gears for the chest OR legs, and i don't have enough rupees for either... :/
i COULD buy some arrows and still have enough mats for the armor but then i'd be setting myself back HUGELY re: rupees
ok, i FINALLY got the chest, jesus, now i can go back to hyrule field
altho it doesnt have any def and without even going to the fountain i know i cant upgrade it so rly is it worth it at all, but w/e
also, i read online that if you can learn the timing of parrying their lasers they go down REALLY easily but i suck so much at combat
i guess i'll just wear my anti-guardian stuff, i have daruk and mipha's abilities and fairies AND FAST TRAVEL if anything goes wrong
YES i did it holy FUCK
oh my god! three-shotted!
oh
i just climbed a small hill and got my first look at the rolling green plains...i missed you
no, no, i gotta go get epona to make this perfect, there's a stable i can warp us both to
omg it's the very first people i ever encountered outside the great plateau again
NOOO i hit epona when i was aiming for a monster baby i'm sorry!!!
i gave her an apple and some pats to say sorry ;w;
"legend says that an ancient voice resonates inside that sword...can you hear it yet, hero?"
frankly i'm glad they finally got their timeline shit together bc even tho the games are SO far apart im LOVING these continuity nods
yeesh, only two memories left but they're both RIGHT at the castle...im scared LOL
): i wouldn't feel right taking epona any further
reasons i never have money: cannot physically stop myself from buying arrows
oh, hyrule field is just beautiful ;___;
ohh god im scared
its fine its fine they wouldnt put a memory that close to the castle and then make you go back to impa if hat wasnt POSSIBLE its gonna be ok
awww no zelda sees link as a living reminder of her own failures?? whyyy
ha i love fighting guardians for the first time in ages im like COME TO ME LET US BATTLE
im uh. still working on the timing, but
oh JESUS
my mouth fell open in horror i climbed over a wall to get to the outsideish of the castle (castle town ruins, so says my map) and
the music was already creepy but jesus CHRIST
there's no color except for that blight evil goop stuff...no life...it's awful
poor hyrule, oh god
it's a lot like finding hyrule castle town devastated in oot when you first wake up, except of course this time we've nothing to compare it to visually, only emotionally...
i see a fuckton of guardians too so its a good thing i learned not to be scared of them
ok, god, i can do it, just one memory, i know RIGHT where it is
apparently the hylian shield is in here too and i am sooo sorely tempted
i mean if i have to get that fucking close anyway...
lord i googled it and apparently this memory is super hard to get you gotta Activate some shit but they did it this way they made it so you have to go back out i know i'll be able to come back out i WILL
ah, apparently you need to fight a stalnox for the hylian shield.ok. ok. good, great, Nice, Perfect
haha im soooo scared ;_;
ok, apparently the two paths are COMPLETELY different, so One Thing At A Time
we'll start with the memory, it's more important
tbh, i can't even bring myself to go in. i gotta go around anyway to get to the starting point of this path so i will
lmao i am almost PHYSICALLY ILL with dread this is SO stressful
JESUS
the music went all scary and the map is in 3D like a beast!! which i knew but it's so Much
and i got a cutscene of the calamity screaming with the Classic ganondorf theme i'm Dying how the fuck does anyone just get this memory and LEAVE holy shit
oh my god the main theme comes in!!! jesus
even ballad of the windfish a little?!?!
oh FUCK and ofc with the lightning
haha aww there's a "leave area" button on the map i can bail whenever i guess tat's reassuring
not yet!! i'm gonna have Courage
ohhh i dipped into a doorway just to wait for revali's thing to recharge and the music changed!! so i got scared and went back outside lol
oh god the higher you go the oranger the sky turns it looks like the blood moon jesus fuck
I MADE IT INSIDE
oh god, zelda's STUDY, the rooms all have names bc ofc they do
holder of the triforce of wisdom of COURSE she had a study she's such a nerd im crying i bet she loved it here and it's totally decimated
a silent princess sprouted in her study too ;_;
HER LULLABY IS PLAYING IN HERE IM GONNA CRY
oh good there's the memory!!
ohhh this picture of how it used to be is hurting my heart it was BEAUTIFUL
holy FUCK dude
ok old man is struck from my heart forever he was such a DICK to zelda no wonder he called himself a fool
link knelt right away but god damn i would have interjected on her behalf
you can't expect a person to pray 24/7!!!!
and deny her her passions, which are obviously machines and learning!
omg she has a journal in here and i almost missed it jesus
TODAY SHE MET WITH IMPA im cryin
omg this is her finding the sheikah slate!!!
jesus, and she found the shrine of ressurection too and hoped she'd never have to use it, and Yet...
oh GOD i hit leave area and it plucked me down in the middle of castle town nope nope nope fast travel outta there
ok to impa and then last memory i can do it and then do stream
and for once not play again afterwards bc to be quite frank i could never stress myself out this bad right before bed again, FUCK
hylian shield and all the rest of it tomorrow
h o ly fuck
he DIED protecting her, or he was going to, but she stood in front of him for once and finally unlocked the power, that's how she unlocked it, for HIM
i'm WEEPING and the sword made the fi noise from SS
even the sheikah warriors ran like sheik in smash bros
im gonna cry that was so much!!! there's so much continuity
fi is in TWO GAMES like...that was such direct referencing!!!!
SHE HAS BEEN FIGHTING ALONE FOR 100 YEARS jesus CHRIST she is SEVENTEEN
ok, im gonna watch all the memories in order and then quit for the night
i just realized the ceremony scene is where she mentions embers of twilight and adrift in time - putting us on the mm/tp timeline
aaaah im sad
god and i LOVE her princess dress i wanna see it in her classic pink why is everyone in this game blue??
so like, despite me not being crazy about zelda's voice ACTRESSS and the VOICE she's using, she actually does the best ACTING out of the entire cast
high key loving this zelda who is smart but has trouble with feelings, also
holy SHIT
ok so one of the first memories i got was of zelda coming down mt lanayru
amd it was badass and i enjoyed it
but there's SO much in there once you know more context
mipha was highkey about to spill to zelda that she was in love with link
revali's distain for link
urbosa seems less stern and more caring now that i know her better
now i know what zelda was trying so hard to do
"we have to keep trying until we find the thing that unlocks your sealing power [long shot of link]"
and "i'm not a child anymore" ofc it's bc she just turned 17! like link in oot!
oh man oh man
i love so much link's expressions in these serious moments especially that very last look into zelda's eyes before he "died"
it feels a bit like, with the other stuff i was talking about, i'm getting just a hint of character
and it's kinda close to My Headcanon but even if it wasn't i just like getting to know him
warped back to the temple of time & i'm leaving it there for the night
tomorrow: The End
(and my shield)
