History/background:
Jaime Lannister clown club is one of the newer clubs in Westeros. Established soon after episode 5 of GOT aired last Sunday. Why one would need a club like this, you ask? Well, when a character’s growth and redemption arc of 7 years is destroyed and then the said character is killed in the most anticlimactic way you just need a laugh, ya know?
The Jaime Lannister is alive clown club tag certainly provides various memes, text posts and other fun theories about our precious dork Jaime Lannister who is without a doubt alive and well *honk honk*

1 grateful post with extra cheese
Dear Jaime Lannister is Alive Clown Club, our week of fun is coming to an end! First of all I’d like to say I’m extremely proud of us. I’ve had a LOT of fandom experiences, some awful, some great, but this one was truly one of a kind. This last week of GoT has probably been the most surreal and weird of my life, but I’ve never had this much fun.

I know this took me forever to do; I really had to think about some of these!

1. What’s your favorite thing you did in 2017?
Honestly there’s quite a few things but a lot of them are kind of hard to explain, internal things; 2017 was a year with a lot of personal growth for me.
A few things I can definitively say are traveling to Scotland and England; it was the first time I had ever traveled outside my country and an indescribably amazing experience. I also started doing yoga regularly in 2017 and I love it so much!
2. What sound is your alarm clock set to and how many times do you hit snooze before actually getting up?
It depends on how important it is for me to get up at a certain time and whether or not I trust myself to actually get up that particular morning. I’m definitely a 15-alarms-in-a-row-at-10-minute-intervals kind of person and I snooze at least half of them before actually getting up. If I seriously need to get up for something like an early class, I frequently set my alarm to something really loud involving bagpipes from Outlander lol. If I’m just trying to get up before 9:30am on a Sunday I set it to something nice and chill.
3. When reading hardcover books, do you leave the dust jacket on or take it off?
I’ve never really thought about taking the dust jacket off; I always leave it on. I do always like to look under the jacket though, there’s often cool embossing or illustrations on the hard cover, like with Holly Black’s new book The Cruel Prince. So pretty!
4. If you cook/bake, what’s your favorite thing to make? If you don’t, what’s a recipe you’d like to learn?
I’ve never been very good at cooking; I have about 6 recipes I make in rotation that usually just involve some combination of opening cans or other food packages and assembling it in a bowl/pan/etc. I usually make things like pasta, mashed potatoes, enchiladas, tacos. I have been cooking a lot more recently though because I’m slowly phasing out dairy from my diet. But if a recipe has more than 10 steps I don’t even attempt it.
5. Which fictional character has most influenced your personality?
I don’t know if I ever consciously tried to emulate any fictional characters, but if I had to guess I would say Hermione Granger probably influenced me to embrace my intelligence and bookish-ness. And it may have already been too late for me given that I asked my parents for “kid coffee” when I was 5 (which was really just milk with a splash of coffee in it), but I think Lorelai Gilmore sealed the deal on my coffee obsession.
6. What’s your favorite keepsake?
I’ve collected lots of little things throughout my life; tickets, cards, old notes, etc. But probably my favorite right now is the dried heather and thistle I brought back from Scotland and framed.
7. What underappreciated book/movie/tv show do you wish more people knew about?
Literally anything by Holly Black. I first fell in love with her Modern Faerie Tales series when I was 11 (which I should not have been reading that young), and Tithe is still my favorite book to this day. My paperback copy has been read dozens of times, dogeared, signed, and had the cover glued back on after it started peeling off. Some of her other amazing books are The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Darkest Part of the Forest, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, and her newest book, The Cruel Prince. She writes dark fantasy YA fiction, and her work is some of the most evocative, detailed, and beautifully haunting writing I’ve ever read.
8. What’s something funny you did as a kid?
I got in trouble in 5th grade for calling someone a man-whore, does that count? (I picked up the word from my 14 year old sister)
9. What’s your favorite type of candy?
Without a doubt dark chocolate. Dark chocolate Raisinets are the beeeeest.
10. What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
The UK. Before that the farthest I had ever been from Texas was Hawaii. I hope to do a lot more traveling in the future though!
11. Do you read multiple books at once or just one at a time?
I tend to read my books in binge sessions so it’s not really possible to read more than one at a time.

Annual Egg Post!
It seems I’ve accidentally started a Silmarillion Heraldry tradition for myself! The center-top Luthien design was done in 2021 and the rest were done this week (2024). Which is your favorite?

One Thing About Me...
…I was tagged by the endlessly talented @art-by-khuggs and the beautiful @suhailauniverse so how could I say no?
I’ve always been an art nerd. Always. I hid in the art classrooms as often as I could (much to the despair of my art teachers, sorry guys).
When I was much older and had left school I read a book about an art teacher who unknowingly reaches out to a young girl (It’s called ‘Speak’ by Laurie Halse Anderson if any of you fancy it and it’s brilliant) in a time when she really needs some calm emotional support. That was the moment that I knew I wanted to teach.
In some ways, my art teacher, Mr Randall, was my very own Mr Freeman and the memory of having that safe space when I really needed it made me want to create the same environment for other teens from all walks of life. My own high school years were nowhere near as traumatic as Melinda’s in ‘Speak’, but as teenagers we all have different breaking points for different reasons and if I manage to give one student at least a modicum of strength in their own tumultuous times as Mr Freeman gave to Melinda and Mr Randall gave to me then I will have succeeded. <3

Author’s note: Yesterday I asked a favorite artist @art-by-khuggs if she’d like to give me a ficlet prompt. Being an artist, she gave me an art prompt! Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy what I wrote.
One final day’s ride lay before them on their journey to the harbour where the Cristabel was docked. A quiet nervousness had fallen over the party as their destination came into view. They were aware of their objective, France, but only Jamie and Claire knew the reason was more than solely his safety from the Crown and Randall. Their genuine mission was to save the Highlander way of life along with countless lives.
One brand-new life that was foremost in Claire’s mind was the miraculous child she thought she’d never conceive, but to her surprised joy was carrying. The child she still needed to tell Jamie about.
The travelling party paused, looking back and forth between themselves, somehow stopping time temporarily for them.
Jamie gently traced along her chin, smiling tenderly, “Tha gaol agam ort, mo Sorcha.” She leaned into his warm hand and closed her eyes. In the back of her mind she committed everything she felt to memory for she knew this would be a turning point in their lives.

10 questions
So I was tagged by @awesomeeyeroll to answer her questions so here goes
1. If you could change any adaptation choice from the first two series of OL what would you change? (If you haven’t read the books just what would you have liked to seen omitted or done differently) Now that is a corker of a question - Im torn, tbh - I would have loved for us to see the healing pool scene at the end of S1, because, a) it would have been amazing and b) it would have prevented the mess up of timeline/Jamie's healing which ended up spoiling over into S2, and causing all sorts of additional problems. I'm also still terribly sore over the not-carving of initials in the finale because these scars resonate again and again through the later books! ( and don't get me started on the lack of dedication inside C’s ring, for same reason, and because it makes me RAGEY) But if I was going to have to pick one thing, it's the Laoghaire denouement - the fact that Jamie knows it was she who betrayed Claire in S1 - and that half assed apology/forgiveness thing in S2 ain’t cutting it - Because the REPERCUSSIONS are huge - I just don't know how they are going to sell the marriage to me, how they are going to sell Jamie ACCEPTING marriage to his wife's betrayer.... so yeah, it’s going to be interesting !
2. Colum or Dougal? Colum. I admire his intelligence, and his incredible fortitude in regards to his illness. And he can also admit when he's wrong.
3. Who is your favourite secondary character from S1&2 and why? Mrs Fitz. I adore her - she is a legend, ( as is Annette Badland, who I hopefully will get to meet this weekend at the convention, to give her the print of my drawing of Mrs Fitz) and I wish there was some way of bringing her back into S3. ( I don't count (show)Murtagh as a secondary character, whom I also adore )
4. Do you belong to any other fandoms and if so, which ones? No, no others (though I know far too much about Dr Who, but that’s cos of my hubby’s obsession)
5. Which new character are you most looking forward to seeing in season 3 and why? Oh, hell, people are going to hate me for this, but, sod it, it's my choice, and it is William. *prepares for eggs to be thrown* I love the interaction Jamie has with his son at Helwater, limited though it is - it's incredibly touching and it just amplifies the angst really because the reader (and hopefully the viewer) will see what an amazing father Jamie would have been, both to William and to Bree if he had only had the chance. And the existence of William also further deepens the already incredibly complicated relationship Jamie has with Lord John ( who obviously we met in S2, so I couldn’t choose him, though I am very excited to see David Berry’s interpretation)
6. If you could see any outlander AU fanfic (inc canon divergences)made into a TV show which would you chose? Oh, what?!!!???!!! How could I decide between so many AMAZING AUs - aaaaahhhh. No. Don't make me. I can't. *stamps foot*
7. Can you recommend a fan artist that you love? Wow, there are so many. So I'm going to have to cheat. Weeeeelll, Im going to have to recommend all my fellow mods over at @picturethefrasers. Cos we are all quite different in style and I love that. If I had to pick another artist who works wonders with pencils, it would be @mybeautifuldecay, or if I were to choose for digital art, which is completely beyond my competency level, I would have to say @art-by-khuggs - the saturation of colour she gets in her pictures is astounding, and is something which I just envy big time, and lastly, because I just adore her style, girlfrog.
8. What did you have for breakfast? Toast, made from wheat and rye bread, spread with my homemade blackberry jam! Delicious.
9. Mary Poppins or Annie? Gotta go with Mary.
10. Tea or coffee. Tea, always tea. Have barely had a cup of coffee since I was pregnant with my almost 14 year old.
