the first thing jordan did when he saw the members arrive on set was congratulate them on their recent debut

it just seemed like the right thing to do. he couldn’t imagine it would have been easy having to debut date set the the teasers all coming out and then the whole thing suddenly being put on hold for another couple of months. he supposed it must just be a relief to all of them now that they finally could say they were debuted and now it was just all about getting the exposure the company wanted, which was why he supposed they were here right now. and jordan was not going to disappoint and was going to make sure this was an entertaining episode for them and one he was sure the fans would enjoy as well. 

“i really enjoyed the song,” he made sure to add, smiling at the guys as he greeted them, “it was an instant add on to my playlist i have to admit.” it was not the natural sort of sound you heard from the industry and that was something he liked about it. sometimes the typical sounding song could get incredibly boring, so it was nice to have something fresh and new. he just hoped that kt stuck with that and didn’t just go back to making songs which sounded the same as everything else.

“but don’t worry too much about today,” he went, on trying to calm any nerves about how this might turn out, “i’m sure it’s going to be just fine. you just have to be yourselves and completely embarrass yourselves more than i already am wearing a dress, a wig and pretending to loudly snore in the background.” joking seemed to always help the mood, especially as he was sure they were nervous about things as this was probably one of the first variety performances they were filming as their debut had only been just over a week ago by the time they were filming.

one last smile as he bowed again, “but i’ll leave you to get ready. i need to get myself all nice and pretty.” and with that he turned on his heel and headed to the small dressing room in the back to get himself ready. though it only took a moment to put the wig and dress on, taking one last look at himself in the mirror provided before he was heading back towards the main filming to take his usual position on set on the rather comfortable sofa behind the guests. 

the filming went pretty smoothly and jordan was up to his usual antics of trying to make the guests laugh and adding in funny quips and loud snores, the occasional sleep talking and itching his nose as he rolled over. at the end of the day he wouldn’t say he would have done anything different and, as usual, he was always sure to thank the filming crew and rest of the staff as well. just one more recording under his belt, many many more left to go, but at least he was still having fun with it. 

as much as you could not being able to talk very much.

it was already late, so when he saw aron in one of the practice rooms, he decided to wait at the lobby for him. before aron lived in the dorms, gray would have sometimes dragged him along to drive him home and spend some quality time with the little brother. but now that things had changed, he wasn't too sure if it still made sense to do so. gray did it anyways. he missed the younger, missed their interaction and the affection they shared for each other. in times of need, gray wanted him to know that he was there for him. no matter if as someone to rely on or just to talk to. he wasn't the type of guy who wanted to leave anyone hanging, just because he decided otherwise for himself.

after packing his things and leaving his own practice, he sat down on one of the benches in the lobby and leaned against the wall, while closing his eyes. gray was hungry, but then again how many days had he gone without talking to one of his closest friends even though they were signed under the same label? it felt weird how they barely interacted at the moment, despite having the possibility too. feeling how his lids became heavy, gray closed his eyes and exhaled a sigh. dozing off, he sat in the dark entrance hall of kt entertainment, before hearing the male voices echoing through the halls a little later. flinching awake, he looked up and saw aron coming around with some of the other male trainees.

at his sight a smile tugged on the corner of his lips immediately. "arong! can i walk with you to the dorms? i've been missing you lately."

“Aron hyung?

There’s unexpected hesitation in Hyunjin’s heart when he calls out for Aron. They’ve grown closer this past month (or at least, Hyunjin likes to think they have now that they’re living in the same room), but it’s not whether Hyunjin thinks he’s close to Aron or not that makes the hesitation unexpected. Always an open book, it takes little for Hyunjin to trust and divulge his worries or secrets; so the mere existence of hesitance is what confuses Hyunjin. He’s been a little soft ever since he was a child, practically grew up with a sign looped around his neck that asked “please handle with care” even if the boy was far from fragile; but that didn’t stop himself from pouring out his heart to practical strangers.

Maybe it’s the fact that he feels a need to be liked by the other boys in the team that grows this hesitance. They were going to be together for much of the foreseeable future, and nothing scared Hyunjin more than the possibility of soiling a friendship so early on. They’re back in the apartment in their shared room, and Hyunjin peers over the edge of his top bunk, looking down at Aron, his apeach plushie tucked into the crook of his arms for emotional support. Tentative, Hyunjin starts off with something casual, “How are you finding training for this month?”

Hyunjin tends to spend more time in his head internalising his thoughts rather than speaking them aloud these days, and he finds it does him absolutely no good when all he can really think about is the question that’s been running in circles inside his brain for the last twenty minutes. That initial question isn’t what he wants to talk about, isn’t what Hyunjin wants to ask. “I’m worried,” he admits, cutting to the chase faster than even he himself was prepared for, “Preparing for two groups, it’s a lot. And,” the words to express himself comes and goes in waves, “What if in the end I can’t do it? They’ve put so much trust in me, giving me the chance to be part of two projects so early, I’m afraid I’ll disappoint them”.

helloooo! a questions for the rkspeakup ; u ; will idols ( and nsg trainees ) be able to sign up for classes?

also:  hi! are idols allowed to attend the event even if their classes weren't chosen? i'm trying to figure out how to get involved if possible !! ;w;

also:  Can idols that didn’t submit an idea or did and didn’t get picked still participate in the event?

NSG trainees will have to sit out on this one. HEARTZ confirmed members won’t be able to attend, but those still on the project may go. Idols will have to wait for their schedules for May to find out what they’ll get to do! :>

when jeongguk makes his way back from the gym and sees light burning in one of the practice room, his curiosity makes him poke his head in only to find a familiar figure on the ground with a towel over their face. admittedly he’s worried sick about the nsg boys. knowing the gist of how messed up the whole debut process has been so far, the dancer feels progressively worse for his inability to actually be there and support them in his own unique way.

holding onto the string of his back tighter he decides he can at least try to do what he can for now until he makes up his mind if he wants to rip his own contract to shreds or not. 

“earth to hyung. you’re good there?” his voice sounds almost eerie so early in the morning in the silent practice room. jeongguk squats down and gentle nudges the towel off aron’s face, tilting his  head with a raised brow in question.

Debut was so close. It was almost insane how extremely real it all felt and a part of minhyuk feared that he could just grasp it and then lose it entirely. That was the biggest fear that he held deep inside his heart. this entire month was just so exhausting both mentally and physically and he just wanted to collapse, but of course, he couldn’t. he had to work himself to the bone. he had to prove himself that he was worthy of the opportunity.  

hell, he’d even skipped out on the lunch squad lunches as of late, working himself to the practical bone. it would lead to the point that he’s almost collapsing from exhaustion in their official practices becasue he wants this so much. he leans against the wall and sighs staring at aron. “i’m so tired.” he mutters. “are we almost done?” he asked, curious. But of course, minhyuk knew exactly what the answer would be. 

Not even close.

coincidence brought them together this time. sungho would never call it fate or anything else so dramatic or poetic, especially because he’s certain that aron would take the concept and run way too far with it. they just happen to be taking the same workshops lately, that’s all.

even before coming into this company, sungho had an interest in composition. he’s written lyrics before, any half-assed rapper really should, but songwriting was another beast to conquer entirely. reading music wasn’t a problem thanks to a childhood full of flute lessons (but if anyone mentioned those now, he’d have to beat the shit out of them), but no one in the world has ever composed on a flute. 

that’s how sungho found himself in piano lessons under the pink kt logo, and how he later found himself in songwriting classes under the same banner. he knows, god does he know, that this was the wrong company to choose if he wanted to seriously pursue his ambitions; it’s painfully obvious by the lack of interest in these workshops and the lack of care by the coaches who teach them, no doubt thinking that these trainees would more likely benefit from more dance or performance practices instead. but sungho’s nothing if not stubborn, and apparently aron is too. still, he can’t help but think that the kt acting classes must draw in at least five times as many trainees as the composition classes do.

he’s never been one for idle chit chat, especially not with a man who sungho thinks might talk his ear off if given the opportunity. he doesn’t even quite realize who he addresses before it’s too late. “what are you working on?” he asks, turning to his neighbor for the first time only to look right into a too-familiar face. sungho has to fight to keep from immediately frowning, though he probably should thank aron for not trying to crawl into sungho’s skin for once in his life.

In a rather pathetic manner, or more like a really sad puppy, she makes her way towards Aron during lunch time. Effectively, flopping down on the chair opposite the older trainee, Naeun mournfully stares at the last portion of rice cake on the other’s tray. Of course, Aron was lucky enough to have gotten a meal when there was still some delicious rice cakes- no, Aron was smart enough to come there earlier than she did. 

With a heavy sigh, she chews on the bottom of her chopsticks, wistfully looking at the other’s plate before glancing at her own. “So, Aron-appa... I mean, oppa!” blushing furiously as she stares at him with a shocked expression, “let’s pretend that never happened.” Clearing her throat before taking in a big spoon of rice and seaweed soup. 

It serves as a nice break, before attempting to speak again, “... how’s evals preparation going?” The burning at the tips of her ears remained, but she pushes through as though nothing happened. 

「 Gangneung Get Away 」

The wind rustles through her hair as they drive down the roads to Gangneung. Beside the music from the sound system it’s quiet and Yuzu doesn’t quite have the heart to break the silence.

She had asked Aron a couple of times if he was really going to be okay with KT for taking a whole weekend off to take his girlfriend out of town. Not that he would tell them the reason of course but to go not only against one but two rules lined down in his contract was admittedly something the Fool wouldn’t have expected from her Emperor.

Yuzu looks at him as he drives, deciding to trust him when he said it’d be alright even when both of them knew he technically wasn’t supposed to go. They place they were going to seemed pretty off the radar too so they should be fine to walk around, not worrying about cameras or anyone recognizing this KT Rookie of hers. 

A smile widens across her lips as she decides to toss all worries aside, letting a small spark of pride flame up instead at him showing a bit of the rebel within.
