twitter had a brief meme in which reigen aritaka from mob psycho 100 would get entered into various character popularity competitions regardless of whether he actually fit the category and winning them, resulting in him being crowned both #1 twink and dilf. this streak was broken today by sans, who beat reigen by 0.1% to become the ultimate tumblr sexyman.
then toby fox went and wrote a short story about it

The greatest came-back-wrong character ever. She's the mayor of Seattle. She's was the best pitcher in the league. She was murdered by an umpire in an act of divine retribution for the fanbase's transgression. The fanbase exploited game mechanics to bring her back to life. Immediately she murdered 12 people. She died again and got revived a second time as part of a team of undead players that killed god. She's a really awful batter. She has, like, 16 songs written about her and they're all really good. I thought about her every single day for a period of six consecutive months. I love her.
I'll be real. I'm an outsider to the Blaseball fandom. I don't understand it. I think they've crowdfunded characters from fictionalized fucked-up Baseball stats and a dream. I love seeing what the fuck they're doing in their eldritch sandbox just so much.

about self ( work ): oh, i help keep things neat and tidy in the dream. not alone of course, but it's demanding regardless of how many people there are.

knowledge: i once heard about another planet ( thalassa ) that's almost nothing but ocean. with strange aquatic humanoids, and massive fish the size of islands. now i'm sure you've noticed; but there's a lot of similarities between the dream, and the sea. and as much as i enjoy it... i'd love to see the real thing.
about sunday: as the face of pena/cony, sunday has a lot on his shoulders. i try to help where i can, but i worry if he might crack under all that pressure.
about robin: she once sent me a souvenir from one of her past tours. i've kept it all this time- and hope she might be able to tell me about where it's from.
about boot/hill: i've heard about galaxy rangers, boot/hill definitely fits a lot of what i expected. but he's actually a lot of fun to be around.
about black/swan: i've a great deal of respect for the memo/keepers. the memory zone is not a place you want to find yourself in- that she can roam it's ever changing halls with as much confidence as she does. it's worth admiring.
eidolon activation: there's a whole universe to see, now if i could just...

I love this Mob Psycho 100 scene. It's all about Reigen and Mob's partnership. Reigen saved the little boy Mob 3 years ago. And from then on his dream has unknowingly came true - he has become someone special, a big somebody for someone. He is Mob's master and the best one he'll ever have. What that strong power needs to be honed and truly mastered is kindness and a genuinely good person to guide him and teach him about life. And Mob knows that. He very well know that Reigen is a genuinely good guy and mentor, psychic or not.
