My goal this spring is to spend as much time in the woods as possible. So prepare for tree-drawing spamming. And of course, I have to put LOTR characters there ♥

Aragorn: When I woke up this morning, I had a feeling something terrible was going to happen and also that essentially, deep down, I’m quite an evil person.
Thranduil: It’s called a hangover, little king, you're doing fine

Karrde's Fandom Friday Rec #2 (10/07/22)
I love October because I love seeing all the month-long creative challenges the people on this website put together, and one of my favorites has to be seeing @pinkiemme's Tarotober artwork, in particular, this Aragorn art for Day 5 (The Emperor). It completely captivated me when I first saw it, and I spent so long just taking in all the detailing on the armor and the crown. It's so beautiful and it makes me want to rewatch LotR. It's been too long really.
Participate in Fandom Friday to show your favorite creators from this week some love! :)

Four times he wasn't sure + 1 time he was (Aragorn x Reader)
author's note: ahh, this is finally done! i started it last year but then uni and work got in the way so it took me until now to finish it. i'm super excited about this honestly, and i hope some of you will feel just as happy reading it. if enough people are interested, i have thought about writing a part two already, like "four times reader wasn't sure + 1 time they were" - what do you think? as always, i tried to keep reader's looks etc. really vague, if there is something you think can be adjusted to make it even more inclusive, please let me know!
warnings: english isn't my first language, mentions of blood, war, death, canon lotr fights, let me know if i forgot something :)
word count: 2.4 k (I think that's the longest fic i've written!)

The first time
"What were you thinking, Strider?", you hissed as the man sat down next to you at the campfire.
"Going out there all by yourself, with no backup. What if a herd of orcs had found you, huh? What then?"
Aragorn could tell you were mad.
"You could have been killed!"
He wasn't even sure if that alone was enough to describe the intense emotions you were displaying right now.
"Darling, I-"
You cut him off. "I don't want to hear it, Aragron. This was dangerous. Something bad could have happened to you."
He hated this. He hated how your voice wavered, either with anger or fear or both. He wanted to see that pretty smile back on your face.
"I can take care of myself."
You took a deep breath. You knew he was right. After all, he was a Ranger from the north who's been riding through the wild all by himself for years, keeping others and himself safe.
Aragorn could tell that something had changed in your demeanor. The wild gesturing of your hands slowed down and your eyes had softened again.
"I know you can", you started as you fumbled around with your hands. "But... What I've been trying to say is that I worry. All the time, about everyone and everything. And when I realised that you were the only one gone from the group and out there without anyone who could help you in case of an attack, something inside me flipped. My worry for you was clouding any rational judgement."
You fell silent for a moment.
"You have the weight of the world on your shoulders, Aragorn. I'm sorry I raised my voice at you. I am just asking, begging you, please don't shut me out. Let me help you carry this weight. You don't have to be the lone ranger any longer. Allow me to take care of you. Let me in."
The crownless king was, quite literally, speechless. Your words had knocked the air out of his lungs.
Would your reaction have been the same if had been Legolas or Boromir who strayed away from the group? He wasn't sure. But then again, it didn't really matter. You cared about him. So much that you became sick with worry when the possibility of something bad happening to him arose.
The thought alone brought a smile to his face, making the skin crinkle around his eyes.
You would never get enough of that sight.
"I promise, I will try my very best to do exactly that", Aragon answered before he paused, thinking about whether he should make you an offer or not. He decided to take the risk. "Maybe, next time, you could accompany me."
Your eyes lit up and he knew he made the right decision. "I would love to."
His chest felt light.
The second time
You've always been someone who gave people their privacy. After all, you didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable around you, but the way you saw Aragorn struggle right this moment made you second guess that decision.
He could feel your eyes on him. He knew you were watching him and yet, he didn't want to take the first step. He hated to be a burden which was exactly the reason why he wasn't going to ask you for help.
Maybe Legolas would assist him with applying the ointment on his back, or maybe- his train of thoughts came to a halt.
He promised you.
He promised he'd do his best to let you in, let you take care of him.
Instead of calling out your name, his eyes locked with yours and he silently pleaded you'd understand.
You did. Of course you did.
With just a few steps, you were standing next to the man, resulting in him letting out a sigh of relief.
His hair was wet from bathing in the lake closeby and the dirt that was usually decorating his face had also been washed away.
"Do you need any help?"
He's sure that he never heard a voice as sweet as yours, basically dripping with kindness.
He nodded. "If you don't mind."
A smile graced your features. "Not when it comes to you, my king."
You took the small container from Aragon's hand which was filled with ointment, made by Elrond to help heal wounds and relieve some pain.
You gestured for the ranger to sit down in front of you and he dropped to his knees without hesitation, his bare back to you.
You scooped up a bit of the tincture. "I apologise for my cold hands", you whispered before gently applying it to the ranger's skin.
He shuddered as soon as your fingers touched him and he tried to convince himself the goosebumps that arose on his skin were caused by the cold, not you.
You could feel Aragorn melt into your touch. His breath evened out and for a second, you even thought he had fallen asleep which was, truly, the only reason you started to trace over some old scars on his back, careful not to cause the ranger any pain.
"They don't hurt", he suddenly spoke and you flinched.
"I- My apologies, I didn’t... think, know- I-" You let out a huff of embarrassment, causing the crownless king to chuckle slightly.
A peaceful silence fell over you while you continued to rub the balm into Aragorn's shoulders and down his back, making sure to not only treat his more recent wounds.
"Where did you get this one", you carefully asked as you caressed a scar on his upper back.
And so, the ranger started to tell you the first story of many about life in the wilderness while you took care of him.
Both of you pretended not to notice when your lips brushed his skin every time he finished an anecdote of his life.
Even if that had been his last evening in middle earth, Aragorn would have been content. He got to spend it with you.
The third time
He didn't know how you did it. How you, despite of all the running, fighting and extreme weather conditions, managed to look absolutely breathtaking.
It was unfair, really.
Not that something as simple as one's looks impressed Aragorn, no.
It was just you he liked to look at because all he could think about were your beautiful brain and warm heart whenever his eyes fell on you.
It was his turn to stay up and keep watch of the fellowship's campsite, making sure they'd get through the night without an incident.
It was a calm night, there was no danger to be seen and although the crownless king stayed alert of their surroundings, he couldn't help but let his eyes drift to you every once in a while.
He was glad you were finally getting some well deserved rest after everything that has happened so far.
As if you could feel somebody watching you, you woke up. Keeping still, you checked the area around you without a single turn of your head.
Aragorn was keeping the night watch and you immediately felt a wave of calm wash over you. If he was sitting around so comfortably, you knew you could feel safe.
But then again, you also felt sorry for the ranger. Although he was running from his destiny, he had made it his mission to keep the whole fellowship safe and alive which was quite the heavy burden to carry.
You could see it, too. His tired eyes or the way at least one part of his body was always tense, ready to fight.
You let out a soft sigh and got up from your sleeping mat, quietly walking over to the man as you tried not to disturb the others.
"Y/N", he spoke softly, "Go back to sleep. You will need the rest."
Instead of answering, you plopped down next to him, his arm brushing yours.
"I can't lay down, pretending not to see you doubt yourself, even at night when everyone else entrusts you with everything they have. You think too much, Aragorn. Let that head of yours come to a rest."
Maybe it was the intimacy of the dark, but when you gestured for him to lay his head in your lap, he didn't fight it. Not for too long, anyway. There was some hesitation, but you looked too warm and too comfortable for him to miss out on this opportunity.
A sigh of relief left his lips as his head made contact with your thighs, the rest of his body turning into a ball.
A rare moment of vulnerability.
You were fighting your own urges for a while before finally letting your heart take over and bringing your fingers up to his head.
Carefully, you started to brush through the ranger's dark curls, removing any small knots along the way.
After a moment of fear that you might have overstepped his boundaries, your heart immediately felt lighter when you noticed him practically melting into your touch while he let out a relaxed groan.
"Does that feel good?"
Aragorn hummed and you smiled to yourself, deciding to go all in.
Your hands moved up his head, gently scratching his scalp for quite some time before massaging his temples.
You've never seen the ranger so blissed out.
Aragorn, on the other hand, couldn't remember the last time he felt so at peace. Your hands were like heaven in his hair and he wondered how they would feel holding his own hands in times of difficulty or against his cheeks while leaning in for a kiss.
He let himself indulge in those fantasies, not putting an end to them, despite the fact you weren't his.
When all this was over, he decided, he would ask you to stay with him.
The fourth time
The next time, there wasn't even hesitation. When you reunited with the man after the battle of Helm's Deep and saw him covered in blood - which wasn't his own, he assured you - you immediately pulled him aside, your hands cupping his face.
"Aragorn", you breathed and leaned your forehead against his.
"It is not over yet, Y/N", he replied as he took your hands, gently squeezing them.
"I feared for that, but let us celebrate this win. For now, let us take pride in the fact that evil did not win. There is still hope."
He grinned. "You are using my words against me, my darling."
"Someone has to", you mused, "otherwise you will never realise the power behind your words. And now sit down and let me clean your face before the blood dries completely."
He followed your instructions without any complaints.
You grabbed a bowl of water and a clean enough cloth and kneeled down in front of the king.
If it had been anyone else, you might have felt vulnerable or disrespected, but not in this situation.
You dipped the piece of fabric into the warm water before bringing it up to the king's face, gently wiping the blood off of his cheek.
His eyes were fixed on you. He wasn't sure how anyone could look so beautiful while being so focused. The urge to ease the tension between your eyebrows bubbled up in his chest and he desperately wanted to kiss that exact spot. But he couldn't. You weren't his and he still wasn't sure if you wanted to be.
Your voice interrupted his train of thoughts.
"Stop me if this is inappropriate, my king", you murmured after you had stood up and were now mere inches away from his face, brushing his hair back to clean his forehead.
He gulped, trying to ignore how nice you smelt, even during times of war and blood and how the use of his title didn't make him uncomfortable when you said it.
"No, this is nice", Aragorn finally replied and mentally scolded himself for sounding so unsure.
When you were done cleaning his face, you put the bowl down and turned back around to him.
"I can get you some more water if you wish to remove the blood from your chest."
He didn't want you to leave, but it would be selfish to ask you to stay when there were others who might need your assistance, so he shook his head.
"I am well enough, thank you for your help."
You tilted your head, eyes locking with his.
"You are too stubborn for your own good", you sighed. "Go and prepare what you have to, let us help the others, but tonight", you pointed at his chest, "tonight, we'll take a look at your torso."
Aragorn tried to surpress his smirk, failing miserably. "Yes, your majesty."
You rolled your eyes, a fond smile on your lips.
+1
The fight was over.
Aragorn wasn't sure how to feel when all he's ever really known was blood and war and his own swords clashing against the enemys' weapons.
But it was over.
The ring had been destroyed and by some miracle, most of the good ones had made it out alive, you included.
His heart felt suddenly very heavy as his eyes landed on your form, not knowing how you envisioned your future now that the quest had been completed.
Your eyes found his and without thinking, you ran over to the king, throwing your arms around his neck.
"We won, Aragorn", you whispered into his ear and hugged the man even tighter.
It was hard to ignore the happiness bubbling up in his chest as he felt your body against his and the joy in your voice in his ears.
"My darling", he whispered and your heart skipped a beat, "stay with me. Stay by my side and let us, together, create a world of peace for the people now and the generations that will follow."
You stared at him, not believing your own ears.
Aragorn understood your silence as reluctance and took a step back.
"It seems I have misunderstood the situation when I believed you wanted to be mine as well, I apologise for the-"
Your lips crashed against his.
"No, my king." You let out a breath of relief. "It was me who did not believe your heart could want me in that way. For as long as you want me, you will have me. I'm eternally yours."
This time it was Aragorn who pressed his lips against yours, making you lose your mind with a single gesture.
"Aye, took the lad long enough to make his move", Gimli said and looked up at the elf who eyed his new-found friend.
"I told you though. They would end up together eventually."
Just like destiny intended.

Bby Aragorn: *wondering through the halls of Imlardis*
Rando elf 1: ugh, i can’t believe that savage is visiting again. You’d think that our lords would have better taste.
Rando elf 2: i’ll say! And i can’t believe they allow him to be near Lady Arwen! Unsupervised at that! He’s already taught her to fight, who knows how else he’ll corrupt her.
Elf 1: truelly the silvans are such a barbaric lot, not only do they have everyone fight, but they scorn and ignore the Ainur, our holy gods who represent the light!
Elf 2: we can only hope that that brute Legolas *spits the name* doesn’t further influence our lord and his family with his dark ways.
Bby Aragorn: *frowning at what he’s overhearing*
Bby Aragorn: *suddenly lifted into the air*
Legolas, setting Aragorn on his hip: hey there, Aragorn! Have you been good? Caused any chaos lately?
Bby Aragorn: *cheers* Las! I have been a super good boy! Though i might have stolen some cookies here and there... but ‘Lladan and ‘Rohir helped me!
Legolas: *carrying bby aragron away* that’s good! And if you get in trouble, just blame it on the twins, that’s what i do.
Bby Aragorn: *nods with a pleased expression*
Bby Aragorn:
Bby Aragorn: hey, Las?
Legolas: yes?
Bby Aragorn: what’s a sav-savge?
Legolas:... a savage?
Bby Aragorn: mhmm! Or “barbiac”
Legolas: Barbaric. Where did you here those words?
Bby Aragron: just now! I over heard some elves talking about you and they used those words. They also called you a brute! I don’t think they were being very nice.
Legolas: well, you’d be right, kiddo. Those aren’t nice words to use.
Bby Aragorn: then why do they use them?
Legolas: bc there are a lot of light elves that don’t like dark elves, such as myself. They don’t think we’re good enough, “elf” enough, in a way.
Bby Aragorn: but... you are an elf?
Legolas: i very much am, but some elves don’t think that my people qualify.
Bby Aragorn: well that’s stupid.
Legolas: you can say that again.
Bby Aragorn: what’s a light elf? Or a dark elf?
Legolas: well, “light” and “dark” are basically the way the elves are divided in those who don’t believe in the Valar, and those who do believe in the Valar. There are a few more distinctions, but that’s the gist of it. I, myself, along with my people and the avari, are all considered “dark elves” because we don’t believe in the valar. The elves who live here, such as the Noldor and the Sindar, do believe in the Valar.
Bby Aragorn: so those elves don’t like you bc you don’t believe in the same things they do?
Legolas: well, that, and bc they have a superiority complex.
Bby Aragorn: well that’s stupid. All of it is stupid. Those are stupid things to do for stupid reasons!
Legolas: yes, so don’t be mean to someone just because they’re different from you, ok? After all, like you said, it’s a pretty stupid reason to be mean.
Bby Aragorn: *nodding determinatly* when i grow up, i’m gonna make sure people stop being mean to each other bc they’re different! That way i’ll be surrounded by not stupid people. And anyone who is mean to someone else bc they are different will be called a stupid poopy-head!
Legolas: *laughs* you do that! I look forward to it.

Haldir x Dwarf!Reader
Warning: prejudice from elves against dwarves, angst, happy ending
a/n: For the sake of this story many things were changed in the original, also this has been in my drafts for about a year lol.
Deep within the forests where the birds sang surrounding a beautiful dwarf whom sat against a tree staring at her dear uncle chatting amongst the humans and the hobbits and his new frenemy, Legolas, the prince of Mirkwood.
She would not lie that he was pleasant site, he stood tall with long beautiful hair that fell down his back and broad shoulders that carried a head with a beautiful face adorned to it.
" Y/n" called Uncle Gimli. She got up from her seat and walked towards him," Yes uncle ? " she asked.
" What's got ya sitting by all your lonesome."
" Just thinking."
Legolas smiled at her and placed his hand upon her head, ruffling her hair as she pouted.
" Do not fret, we will soon pass over and then you can sleep peacefully on a bed." She smiled at him at the last word, bed. Oh how she longed to lay on a soft and fluffy bed, Do not get her wrong, she loved the great outdoors but she missed the comfort of her very own bed and the fluffy blankets that kept her toes warm and the morning cup of tea her mother would make her.
" I just hope we get there soon, even if it is just for a night."
" Well Lass, one more night in the woods will not kill ya." replied Gimli as he chucked. She sat down near the fire, feeling the bitter cold nip at her fingertips.
" At this point I feel like the cold will kill me before the orcs do." She chuckled as she looked up to see Legolas hand her some Lembas bread.
" Eat little one we have a journey ahead of us tomorrow."
" I AM A GROWN ADULT !" she huffed before golfing down the bread and beginning to set her cot near the fire. Legolas chuckled, he had grown quite close to y/n, he saw her as a little sister, after all it was her first journey and he felt a need to always protect her, that and her fascination of elves as he recalled their first encounter.
.
.
. flashback.....
" Uncle Gimli, look it is an elf."
" aye aye lass, be careful, they lack coordination and are coy."
Legolas chuckled to himself as he stood tall in front of the dwarf.
" funny for someone who can not even see over the table."
" Why you !!" That began the bickering friendship between the two while y/n was full of questions.
" how tall are you ?! What is your diet ?! Are all elves blonde ?! Where do you reside?!"
Legolas had never been asked so many questions in his life as of right at that moment.
.
.
.
end of flashback....
Gimli looked at his niece, she was in deep sleep.
" She is quite tall for a dwarf." Said Legolas.
" Aye..I believe her father was a human, although my sister never shared anything of it."
He nodded understanding that the topic was sensitive.
" Ill take first watch." said Legolas before Gimli turned around and said," What do yah think I am not capable of-"
" My friends there is no need to argue.." Aragorn spoke trying to defuse the situation.
.
.
.
The next morning was filled with dread, everyone was tired and the cold and hard ground did not aid their back pain. They simply longed for a warm home filled with delicious foods of all kind.
Aragron had pushed them to continue walking for hours without breaks or even lunch. Their stomachs were grumbling and the mud was piling on their feet making them feel as if the world was weighing them down.
" This is where Lothlorien should be." said Legolas as they continued trekking into the woods. It was foggy and ominous, nothing like the rumors that have spoken about the beauty of it. Legolas himself shared some stories he often heard as a small child about it.
"Daro !" spoke a voice commanding from the trees above. They all stopped as Legolas whispered to them to standstill and to not move a single muscle.
"who are they ?" whispered Frodo. " They are elves." replied Sam. Despite the fear in the other hobbits and even Uncle Gimli, Y/n could not help but feel excitement bubble up in her stomach, although she was also weary, perhaps they may not take a liking that they are stepping within their domain.
An elf dropped down in front of Legolas smiling, "Welcome!" They all looked around, they were surrounded by the elves pointing their arrows in case one wrong move was taken. " How many are there of you ?" asked an elf, Y/n's eyes widened as she stared at the elf before her, sure Legolas was beautiful but he, he was simply gorgeous, he stood tall and proud. Legolas replied with," myself, four hobbits, two men, and two dwarves."
" two Dwarves ?!" yelled the dwarf. " Is the woman a dwarf ?!" he questioned taking in her appearance, she was a beauty despite the mud on her clothes and the matted braids on her head, but she still radiated despite that.
" I can not let the dwarves pass." he declared, Frodo had done his best to try to reason with him, but another elf whispered in his ear that the Lady was expecting them. The elf presented himself as Haldir, he continued to explain that he would have to blindfold them in order to be taken to the Lady, whom was expecting them and turned to look at the dwarves, " keep a close eye on them."
Despite the beauty of Haldir, Y/n was hurt at his words, how could he say such cruel things when she had not done anything to hurt his trust. She pouted, but soon widened her eyes as she saw her uncle beginning to unsheath his axe and yell at the elves.
" We are not spies !" yelled Uncle Gimli, Y/n grabbed his wrist as she noticed the elves beginning to take aim.
" Uncle Gimli, we are on their land, we must abide by their rules and customs out of respect, the same way they would in our home." Haldir glanced at y/n she seemed uncomfortable with the accusation as she stared down at her feet rubbing her arm and tried to keep herself from looking at him.
he cleared his throat and put his axe away," very well."
As they began to be blindfolded, y/n could not help but hold her breath. She felt the cool fingers of Haldir push her hair behind her ears, his breath fanning her face as his arms came around to tie the cloth around her head and cover her pretty eyes. He questioned her lineage considering she was almost the size of an average human woman, but still quite a short stature. He grabbed her hand gently and began to lead her, unbeknownst to her, the rest of the company followed by grabbing onto a rope.
After some time, y/n felt the blindfold being removed, the sight before her left her speechless. The trees were tall and beautiful, the sun casting a beautiful glow within the forest, the air felt clear and pure, the aura of Lothlorien was unmatched. It was truly a sight.
" Lady Galadriel knows of your presence, you may wander freely." said Haldir.
As y/n began to walk away Haldir grabber her wrist," my apologies, my lady, can I perhaps show you something ?" He found himself bewildered that he even let his curiosity get the best of him, he wanted to find out more about her, he was also blinded by her beauty.
She nodded and followed closely behind, what choice did she have, he was holding her wrist afterall. From a distance, Legolas held Gimli back and smiled as the two ventured off somewhere else.
" Will you let me go you imprudent fool, that idiot is running off with me nice !" yelled Gimli
" now now, Sir Gimli, let your niece live her youth, she is a young woman afterall, she can make her own decisions." Said Aragorn.
.
.
y/n and Haldir reached a large tree. He let go of her hand and climbed up then looked back down to offer his hand towards her. She smiled and took it as he helped her up the tree.
" Is there something you wanted to show me ?" asked y/n.
" Look ahead."
There she gasped as she the vast land of Lorien, the beautiful light casting on the land, the calm waters and the beauty of nature.
" It is so beautiful." she said as she smiled and felt the wind tickle her cheeks. He stared at her mesmerized by the light in her y/e/c eyes," yes, it is."
She felt herself blush as she turned around to make eye contact with him. " Sir, Haldir, um...."
" just Haldir is fine."
" Haldir, may I ask, why did you want to show me this ?"
".. I...I don't know, I felt compelled to, as if we were destined to see this together." said Haldir.
Her eyes widened as she stared into the blue eyes of Haldir both leaning in, " Lass get down here this instant !" she felt herself almost slip if it weren't for Haldir wrapping his arm against her waist. He then held her and jumped down from the tree.
He landed in front of Gimli and Legolas," Watch yer step !" yelled Gimli as he tumbled back onto his bum.
" y/n/n, you just met this elf and you're already run off and been seduced ?! " yelled Gimli, causing y/n cheeks to turn a crimson red and stomp her feet," Uncle Gimli, I am not a child anymore ! And I am not being seduced ! Hmph." She walked away as Gimli tried to go after her but Legolas held him back sighing as he whispered to Haldir to leave at once before Gimli turned his attention to him.
It did not take long for them to meet again as a small feast was being held. They offered her a change of clothing, a beautiful lavender dress which she had not worn one since she left. She felt comfortable being freshly bathed and groomed. She had long waited to wash her hair and many of the Elven ladies helped comb and braid her hair which had grown throughout the journey. She sat next to her uncle at the table excited to eat, the seat in front of her was taken by no other than Haldir.
" You look beautiful " complimented Haldir, Y/n looked down at her lap and felt her cheeks flush as she thanked him for the compliment.
"tch." Gimli was angry at the interaction his young niece was smitten someone, an elf at that.
but that all changed when he laid his eyes on Lady Galadriel, she truly was a beauty and the air around her seemed to glow as she welcome them. The company could not help but laugh at seeing his cheeks turn red when she spoke to him.
" What was that about being seduced uncle ?" chuckled y/n. Haldir smiled to himself as he stared at her smile.
The feast went on smoothly, many retreating to their sleeping arrangements. Y/n spoke to Lady Galadriel briefly and she spoke about loving someone, y/n was confused as to why she would talk. about that but Lady Galadriel smiled," my dear child, afterall you are still young and have such a long life to live, do not fret and continue forward." She thanked her for such encouraging words as she walked away to go to sleep.
Somehow Lady Galadriel had a worried gut feeling.
The next morning the company was to leave, Haldir felt saddened that he did not get so speak to y/n, but was content when he saw her in his dreams that night. He felt a connection and could tell they were destined."
" Haldir, perhaps we may see each other again." smiled y/n
He smiled as his bent forward to place a kiss upon her hand and looked into her eyes and spoke once more," I have a feeling we will my Lady. " He said and smiled sweetly.
Despite the two barely meeting, they had a feeling that they had lived before, perhaps in their previous life they were lovers.
And yes, they met again but in unforeseen circumstances, as they fought against the orcs in Helms-Deep, protecting the people of Rohan, the elves of Lothlorien came to aid the company and the army of Rohan.
When y/n laid eyes on Haldir, she could not help but smile at his presence. They all fought bravely, to the end, but once the battle ceased, y/n tried to look for Haldir. She was held back by Legolas
" Legolas, let me go, I need to find Haldir." She felt a gut wrenching feeling, " Please y/n.." Said Legolas. She finally broke free and saw the Many dead men and elves. but her eyes traveled to where Haldir laid. HE was still blinking looking up into the sky. She quickly fell to her knees and called out
" Haldir !" she felt the tear rushing down her cheeks as she stroked his cheek trying to clear him of the blood that stained his pale skin.
He reached a shaky hand and placed it against her cheek, he began to speak," I do not know why the stars led me to you, but I...I-I am glad to have met y-"
" please save your energy, you're going to be okay !!" yelled y/n as she gripped his hand tightly. She kept repeating to herself 'you're going to be okay ' , but it was far too late as he let out his last breathe. She placed her forehead against his and closed her eyes as she cried out silently to herself. The company whom had been separated from Master Frodo and Samwise stood looking at the two, Aragorn himself could not contain his sadness as they all mourned the death of many, especially the death of an ally.
Gimli felt pain for his niece, but did not know what to do other than place his hand at her back. She did not want to let go of Haldir but Gimli told her they must. She placed a kiss on his forehead and stood up fists at her sides. She decided in that moment she would avenge his death.
And she did, together with lady Eowyn she found the strength within her and the company to strike down Sauron and many Orcs. She fought bravely.
Upon returning to Rivendell where many elves had now taken their departure to Valinor. It was now time for her departure as well along Bilbo, Frodo and Gandalf. Her uncle and Legolas were going to stay behind but as she looked into her Uncle's eyes she noticed tears within them. " Do not cry Uncle Gimli, we will be reunited soon, please take good care of him Legolas."
She embraced the both of them as she cried and soon they set sail.
Just as Haldir predicted, they soon met once again....
The End

I need you to know that I have decided that Arwen and Aragron's kids get ALL of the latent Evil Noodly Baby genes, and all of Gondor has to figure out how to cope. 😔
LMAO well you know according to Mr Hostetter Eldarion looked 20 until he was 40 or something insane like that so clearly that means he kept a lot of noodle

Listen, I love movie! Aragorn, I really do. But book! Aragron wins out for me by virtue of being objectively more of a fucking weirdo

I got played. I’ve been schooled. boy hadn’t even heard of the Entmoot but he knew about Viggo’s damn toe.

When it came to kisses, there were many kinds for Aragorn and Issa. They both knew that the type of kiss didn’t matter, for they all meant the same thing. There wasn’t just one sort of kiss that defined their relationship. Instead it was many different ones.
Aragorn never left without kissing Issa. No matter what. Of course when he was in a rush it would be a quick peck to her forehead, cheek, knuckles or even her palm.
Both Aragorn and Issa had been busy all day. While Aragorn had been working on forging old alliances, Issa had been working on helping in preparations in the rebuilding of Minas Tirith. All this work meant that the King and Queen barely had any time to spend with each other unless in a professional setting. It was a rare occasion that they even saw each other during the day as it seemed like there was just so much to be done and not enough time. It was beginning to cause them to become distant, which terrified them both. The last thing they wanted was for their marriage to fall apart because they don’t have time for each other. Of course, logically, they were aware that that likely wouldn’t happen, it was still always present in the back of their minds.
Finally, the day came where Aragorn was allowed a break. He’d finally finished a meeting he’d been working towards for the past month or so and had decided to show their visitor around and explain the progress they’d been making. As they’d been doing that one of their guests' advisors pulled him away to talk, and Aragorn took his chance. The first thing he’d decided to do was find his wife.
Issa had been helping with the finishing touches of a new schoolhouse when he finally spotted her. She had been painting the last wall that needed painting for the building to officially be completed. Today, and every other day really, opted for more casual attire so she wasn’t working in a nice dress. She wore a tunic Aragorn recognized as one she’d received while in the MapleElm realm on the quest to destroy the One Ring, and one that was getting quite a bit of paint on it with all the children running around excitedly.
He couldn’t help but smile at that as he wordlessly walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. Issa tensed up at first as the sudden contact, but quickly recognized her husband’s touch and relaxed into him.
“What do you think?” She asked softly, referring to the school as Aragron rested his chin on her shoulder. She felt his chin move as a smile formed on his face.
“I think that my amazing wife did an amazing thing for our amazing kingdom.”
“So it’s amazing?” Issa teased lightly, turning her head to look at him.
“Very,” he confirmed, pulling away from her.
“King Aragorn,” their guest called, making the Man sigh.
“I’m afraid I have to go,” he muttered. “I just wanted to see you while I was near.” Issa smiled at him and shook her head amusedly.
“Perhaps we can see each other at dinner,” she suggested. “Tonight?” Aragorn couldn’t help but smile as he nodded, though he was interrupted when he went to respond.
“My Lord,” Aragorn’s advisor called this time.
“Alright,” the Man called, trying not to sound annoyed. He faced her with a soft look (which nearly made her laugh at the change in demeanor) then pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
“I will see you tonight,” he muttered with finality before heading back over to the others, leaving Issa to stare after him with a wide and giddy smile.

Sometimes there was an occasional sneaked kiss. Those didn’t really happen until they became King and Queen, though. When they’d sneak away from the palace in the middle of the day and wander off.
“Come on,” Issa urged in a hushed voice, taking Aragorn’s hand in hers again as they walked through the various halls of the palace. The couple had started a small tradition of sneaking away from the palace when they wished to pretend that they weren’t King and Queen of such a big kingdom - even if it was only for a few hours. Of course the world didn’t work that way; they were still needed. Which meant they had to hide from guards or generals who were searching for them. So far Issa wasn’t doing a good job so far as she just couldn’t stop giggling. She heard her husband chuckle from behind her as he followed, finding amusement in her joy.
“I’m coming, but you must be quiet meleth nin (my love),” he retorted. Though he was trying to whisper only loud enough for her to hear, his voice still echoed in the corridor they were walking down along with her laughter (which she tried - and failed - to hold back).
“Your Majesties?” They suddenly heard from an adjacent corridor, making the couple freeze mid step. A shadow formed on the wall across from the adjacent hall at the other end of the one they were currently in, growing larger as the person grew closer. Without another word Aragorn pulled her into another nearby adjoining hallway, hiding her in a corner with him practically covering her. The corner was dark enough that they wouldn't be spotted.
Well, they wouldn’t be if Issa actually kept her laughter at bay. She just couldn’t help it. She felt like a teenager all over again. Aragorn, though he wanted her to be quiet and even attempted to shush her several times, couldn’t help but find her incredibly endearing. Without even thinking he leaned in and kissed her several times with a fond smile on his face. The first one was a quick peck but then, as if intoxicated by her lips alone, he went back for several more.
If he’d been attempting to quiet her with kisses it was a fifty/fifty shot on whether it’d work. This time it only served to make her giggle more. After a minute it ultimately caused the Man to laugh as well as they shared several more kisses.
They ended up being found. Luckily it was Faramir who caught them, saving them the embarrassment of being seen in such an embarrassing position. That didn’t mean he didn’t make a teasing comment here or there the next few days. Their next attempt to escape the palace was more successful - though it took Aragorn stopping to kiss her anytime she began to giggle.

Kisses shared in the privacy of their chambers. These were especially different from the other ones. They didn’t need to be overly passionate or quick. Instead they’d be soft, slow and sweet. They were allowed to take their time with these. It was a reaffirmation of their love and a reminder that all the hardships they’d endured were worth it for these moments together.
When Issa was told about Aragorn having a bad day by her lady in waiting, an idea instantly settled into her mind and she got to work quickly. The bath was hot and waiting for him by the time he’d entered their shared chambers. Though initially surprised, he undressed quickly and stepped in.
Issa had also taken the liberty of making a quick stop at the kitchen for food, which he ate gratefully. She’d left for only a moment to grab a towel for him, then when she returned she sat beside him and simply talked to him. She didn’t talk about his day as he hated to reflect on them unless they were particularly bad, but instead talked about her day. Aragorn loved to hear all about it and listened intently while he bathed.
Once he was done Issa opted to run the now empty plate back to the kitchen while he dried off and got dressed. It didn’t take her long to run to the kitchen and wash the dishes (because she hated always feeling pampered), yet when she returned to their room again Aragorn was already dressed and in bed. He laid on his back with his eyes closed and his hands behind his head. For a moment Issa thought that he had fallen asleep, but then, without opening his eyes, he reached his arms out for her.
“Lay with me?” It sounded more like a question, and Issa was happy to wordlessly answer it by doing as he asked. She settled into his embrace and allowed him to hold her, something that helped him ground him. Her head laid on his shoulder, her lips lightly grazing his jaw. She pressed a gentle kiss to his jaw, which made a small smile form on his lips. His eyes opened as he turned his head just a bit to face her, causing their lips to graze against each other.
For a moment they just laid there like that, but then Aragorn finally closed what little distance was between them and pressed his lips to hers. Unlike the other kisses they shared outside of their chambers, this one was slow and sweet. To Issa these felt much more intimate because it was just the two of them. She found herself smiling into the kiss, Aragorn doing so after, as she turned just a bit to get more comfortable.
It was only when they needed air that they were forced to pull away from each other, though they didn’t stray far. Their lips continued to graze each other again as Issa tried to calm her racing heart at such an intimate act of affection. The night continued with them sharing several more kisses like that until they ultimately fell asleep.
