Repost from @aplacetobark using @RepostRegramApp - Lots of smelly, soft food, being patient & luring took a bit, but I'm happy to say the kitty is in the van:) He/she is not happy & is pretty feral at this point, but is young & so I'm hopeful with time & trust all will be ok. No more dodging cars & trucks or fending for itself. All will be provided & will always be safe & protected in my care. It's always so interesting to me, as I sat & tried to catch this one, how the world was just passing by with no concern. The man who worked there was so nice & came back up to the truck saying, this is a small town & the rescues really need help. So maybe this cat was a meant to be occurrence, on this journey... I want to & wish I could do more. So my hope is to restructure for "2018" to do just that. It's going to be a long night on the road getting back to Tennessee, but Lives Saved is worth every moment on the road. Our service dogs have been delivered to Florida & I cant wait to get home. This sweet old lady is having two large masses being removed from her front legs, so that she can walk properly. It will be a bit difficult, due to the size of the masses. She will also have a dental done to remove broken teeth. Abby is in the best hands possible with Dr. Brett. Even though we just met today, there is something so deeply special & endearing about this dog. How easily they steal our hearts. I guess mine isn't so hard to steal, for I've given thousands of pieces of it, away for years, to every animal I've ever rescued💕 So many tell tales signs, that life has not been the easiest. I'll be up & down all night, watching this sweet dog. She's sleeping right by my side. Every time I would step away, she would come find me. We go back to the vet in the morning for more tests & possibly surgery. They asked me to bring her home, for no one is at the clinic at night. So this is Marlee's update: She is sleeping as comfortably as we can make her & my hope is, things will be better with each passing day. His mom fosters for us, is our friend & favorite groomer. She has been the main caretaker of Pearl, since she came into our program. Giving her the individualized attention she needed due to the extent of her injuries. "Pearl" will be starting rehabilitation therapy next week, for her two hip & leg surgeries have been completed. I wanted to share this photo, number one because it's darling, but number two, because this sweet girl would not be alive today, without this wonderful page of animal loving people. The surgeries needed were specialized & extensive for such a young pup. A Big Thank You from "Pearl" She has the best chances of a Beautiful Life ahead & well... Repost from @aplacetobark using @RepostRegramApp - Meet "Stitch"💕 It was such a busy week last week, I didn't get much time to post. It was so hectic with the holiday, but really a week to remember. We Gave Thanks By Saving Many Dogs & this beautiful guy is one of them. I rarely go out of my area, for it's never ending & I try to focus my work where I live. But as we all know, there are homeless pets everywhere. I received a message from my friend Tom about two dogs in a very rural area a few hours from me. That day I was deep in thought about so many things, the pictures hit my heart & I knew I had to go. Upon arrival I met a wonderful young lady who told me about how bad the stray situation was in her area. No animal control & so many dogs in need. She was doing her best for these dogs, but had her own dog, children & family to care for. Then she showed me the dogs & as always, it just breaks my heart, to see theses animals on their own, struggling for whatever scraps of nutrition & love they can get. I'm happy to say they are now here at "A Place To Bark" & receiving what they need. "Stitch" has two types of mange, secondary infections, had parasites both internal & external. All of which will heal with time & treatment. I'll share more of his story later today. Have A Beautiful Day & know Together We Save Lives! This is just such an amazing group, everyone's hips & medicals, qualified them to move forward! It's a long road for these special dogs, from the animals controls we pull them from, to graduation day with their veteran. The Best & Most Beautiful thing is, Two Lives Are Saved! Nothing in life that is worthwhile is ever easy. But it is always worth it! By everyone working together, it makes this world a better place, for Every Life💕 These dogs & 7 others, were sponsored in memory of "James Robert Berger" by his son, also a combat veteran. I can't wait to share graduation photos 6 months to a year from now. We are so grateful for the working partnership we have had with K9s For Warriors.
