Speaking of Puen, he is now my absolute fav character in Playboyy. Maybe of all QL. I love him with my whole heart.
He cares about respect and consent.
He is always there for his fellow queers.
He is confident in the most attractive ways.
He takes his goal to be the best Playboyy seriously.
He genuinely wants to learn.
And most imporantly: he plays Aob the big bad man like a fucking fiddle.

Teach me your ways Puen because I want to be you SO BADLY.

Aob: Jealous? Pfft. Why would I be jealous of you? Your body is only great, and your face is gross, actually, and the sex barely blew my mind.
Jealous, ha!

if there's one thing i love about playboyy, it's the use of colors & lighting. it's not always subtle, but it's always bold & clever, like the way aob & puen have been visually put behind bars over the last two eps. even as they discuss / struggle with being prisoners of their respective circumstances. (fingers crossed that they break free in the finale 馃馃徎)

I would like to address the conversation going on around Playboyy The Series and the "lack of plot" seemingly presented since its inception (promo). I feel like a huge point is being missed by the general consumers of BL that I, as a queer woman, would like to draw attention to. Sex in queer communities, while ultimately being a form of pleasure, has also been a form of protest. There are still countries in which same sex intercourse is illegal and, in some cases, is punishable by death. Media's response to queers only being palatable to straight people when they viewed them as not being fully functioning human beings who partake in sex (aka taking away their autonomy) were shows like Queer As Folk and The L Word. I know QAF has been in discussion frequently with the rise of more risqu茅 BL like Love In The Air, KinnPorsche, and Only Friends. However, Playboyy The Series is much truer to that era of media in unapologetically portraying queer intimacy more explicitly to remind straight people that we are fully human and with that should come the human right to have sex without being surveilled and reprimanded, to have marriage equality because queer people can also view physically intimacy as an act of love just like straight people, to have access to all basic human rights, because we are REAL! I understand if explicit sex isn't your thing, if cutesy plots are more of your style, but to condemn Playboyy The Series for being "plotless" in this scenario seems unfair to me. Sex is the protest, therefore sex is the main plot device in the show to lead us through the plot because it's a huge part of humanity and queers are human period.

-This sucks.
Ugh, this scene. The way Aob is being so gentle with Puen, the way Puen has let Aob in again, let him take care of him the way Aob so desperately wanted to.
And the way this show continues to have such important conversations just catches me every time.
Here's two queer men, two sex workers -- one injured because of his job -- talking frankly about the way their work causes them harm/leaves them vulnerable to violence, and how powerless they are to access justice.
This very frank discussion of the ways in which their marginalization puts them in danger, and keeps them at a societal disadvantage that the government and those who have a higher social standing ignores and exploits in turn.
"Who is going to take care of us?"/"Me. At least I will" kinda broke my heart. While this is very much about sex workers, and these particular men -- this group of friends who have had to rely on each other, but made a family of sorts out of each other along the way -- it's also about queer people, and how sometimes, we're all we have. We need to step up for each other, and be there for the ones that need help, who are more disadvantaged, more at risk, less likely to be taken care of by society at large, or by not-queer people (sex workers, disabled people, etc).
We need to take care of each other, y'all.
