okay but the one thing i NEED in Chain Of Thorns is finally an actual Explanation for how fire messages work because 22 something books in tsc and I still don't really understand how it works and my brain doesn't like that and I Want to understand okay

so like there's how the practical side of it works and then the scimag side.

like is it just that you write a normal letter then use some sort of communication+fire rune? are you writing in the air? are you drawing a rune in the air and basically transmitting thoughts which appear to the recipient in print form? is there a device needed to make it happen? can it only work between people with aforementioned devices? did Kit nick a rune off the pithos and that's why no one else had figured this out before him? is there warlock magic involved like with the Portal?

not to mention how are they making sure it isn't going to be intercepted by anyone else andddd how are they making sure it goes to the actual right person? and what's the range on these things? cities countries continents? while fire messages can't be sent by downworlders probably because they can't draw runes can the messages be sent to them? can warlocks use this? like I Need To Know Tell Me pleaseee
