thinking about dale and annie. how annie "belongs to another time," as Norma says, and how she's spent all this time in the convent, which is described as totally separate from the outside world, separate from the passage of time---not unlike the black lodge. thinking about how annie leaves the convent right before dale enters the black lodge, how her time in the "real world" barely overlaps with his, how all that time dale was trying to help Annie come into the real world he was completely unaware that he himself was about to leave it...
