okay. listen. if you ever find yourself falling into a new ideological circle, pay attention. if you notice that you’re among people who define themselves as part of an “in-group” with a pre-prepared human “enemy” to constantly rail against—if everyone fantasizes about the mental state of these loathsome monsters, if they participate in witch hunts or (perhaps worse) poke bears and court harassment on purpose to comfort each other over—get the fuck out. you haven’t been enlightened to some grand conspiracy, there are no evil “enemies” or “degenerates” trying to rip apart the fabric of society, and you do not have the moral duty to “enlighten” anyone to whatever you think the “truth” is. it’s neither safe nor normal to spend hours of your day fighting with strangers on the internet
a lot of people wear this shit like a badge of honor, but it’s also not normal to hide your “in-group” status as a form of martyrdom, relishing when the “enemy” slips up around you. it’s comforting in the moment, but in the long run, you’re alienating yourself from the world outside of your bubble. the more you alienate yourself, the more vulnerable and lonely you become, and the harder it is to reject the comfort of belonging to the “in-group”
i’m writing this from the perspective of someone who grew up in a cesspool of awful, cult-like rural churches—which is its own situation—but i see similar shit happening in online communities all the time, both within and 800 miles outside of my own ideological principles. yes, every toxicass radfem i block seems to be trapped in a version of this vicious cycle, but i also see it happening in random queer circles and niche fandom communities. no one is immune, not even me. i’ve watched people fall into this shit and never make it out. be careful

My most controversial Dungeon Meshi opinion is that Laios would hate Omegaverse actually. He’d think it’s boring and scientifically inaccurate (the worst things it could be to him).

one piece fans shitting on the new episode and calling it over-hyped because there wasn't a ton of fighting just don't get it. and honestly it makes me wanna burn the entire shonen community to the ground so we can have a fresh start.
IT. WASN'T. ABOUT. THE. FIGHT.
what makes gear 5 so crazy is how its the culmination of all of one piece's themes put into one power-up !! its about liberation and freedom and laughter !! if you don't understand the importance of those things then you just don't understand one piece.
but no. anime fans don't give a shit about a good narrative. they only want to see cool fights and big boobs. and this episode didn't have a ton of either so it must be bad.

I carried this thing for MONTHS with the EXPRESS PURPOSE of putting Raphael in it (knowing full well Larian wouldn't let me do that, mechanically) and I had one major miscalculation.

i will never understand just how desperately people want Marinette to be punished for the choices she made at the end of season 5. like, yeah, she kept some information from her boyfriend that he definitely has the right to have. that sucks. but the choice makes sense: she wants to protect his feelings, he just became a literal orphan and she doesn't want to add to his grief, also from her perspective she's a superhero and he's a civilian (we know this isn't the case, but that's dramatic irony baybee!) and that's a burden for her alone to carry as Ladybug.
Obviously this will eventually cause conflict, maybe even an argument or several. But Marinette and Adrien are very emotionally mature for their age, out of necessity, and I think they'll work through it and be stronger in the end.
but my fucking god do people want the worst for Marinette in season 6. to the point where they talk about an adrinette breakup being inevitable and earned. like this is the worst thing Marinette has ever done and she deserves to have everyone in Paris hate her forever.
like fucking hell. she's a 14 year old who was tasked with responsibilities that would make most adults crumble. give the girl a break.

frank welker doesnt get enough credit for the fact that hes so good at voicing fred jones that hes just been doing it for nearly 55 years at this point
and like, Fred Jones had frequently had his character shifted by various writers and usually to make him more comedic in different ways. And it's such a testament to Welker's voice acting ability that he's always nailed the comedy inherent to Fred's character even in very different iterations of him

i love it when people introduce their coolass adult trolls like yes. this is slayer martin the cruel. five sweeps ago he killed his way through his enemies and earned the title of worlds best assassin. hes the most competent warrior with swordkind in all of alternia and he had to duel his matesprite to the death when he was 7 sweeps old so hes rejected love and compassion from his dictionary literally and its like so cool bc it’s like. wow. i love slayer martin hes just like a real cool adult troll he’s so badass and epic and his themes and story is so complex i love it!!! but when i make homestuck ocs its like:
