okay so, while i do like ios as a whole, one thing i have noticed is that apple has tried to layer too many touch and swipe inputs over each other.

there are multiple different commands that require you to swipe up from the bottom of the screen, and multiple that require you to swipe down from the top; the former can't be accessed when the keyboard is up, and the latter tends to lock the screen when i don't want it to.

then there's touch id. i have press the home "button" once to wake it up, then again to unlock it. doing that too quickly opens apple pay, and then exiting that locks the phone, so i have to repeat the process again.

meanwhile, from my experience, android keeps the minimalist swipe and touch commands to a minimum (unless you specifically turn them on) and thus feels a bit more fluid and easier to use in that regard. plus android devices tend to have this novel innovation called "buttons" for various functions, so...
