Same Page Pt. 1

If you followed my mini review/first reaction to each episode of minx season 2, in the last one I mentioned making a post about Tina and Doug and them being “on the same page.”

Here it is!!

This post would not be possible without: @aflawedfashion @philippageorgiou @livelovecaliforniadreams @anderwater and their amazing gifs! They keep my obsession alive! I get to stare at them when I don’t have time to watch the show again!

Tina and Doug are always matching!

I do not know if it was intentional on the creators or wardrobe people’s intention, or if I’m delusional and reading into things.

But in the first moment they have alone in Season 1 Episode 1, they are both wearing blue! And Tina’s dress is matching the accents on his shirt too!

In my opinion, I think blue is their color as a couple. When they are they happy with one another or if they are in a scene where they are representing the relationship/most comfortable with one another or having a “moment” their usually wearing blue.

Going to the retirement party and seeing her family.. BIG COUPLE MOMENT!

The deepthroat premier?? Big moment!

Even if it didn’t end well! It started off pretty good!

Also, like in episode 1, they sometimes match by one person in the solid color and another in a pattern primarily with that color. (Tumblr wouldn’t let me post the gif here so I added a link on the word match)

- this one isnt blue, but they look nice in red and beige too!

Again, this is either intentional or I’m crazy and need to stop watching this show over and over again. (Another link on again)

Another thing they tend to do, is match in tone or pattern. Like they’ll both be in a crazy pattern or they’d both be wearing different patterns but with the same pallets or tone of color.( another link on color).

Call it a stretch but I think these are pretty matchy.

Sometimes it may even be the hair! Like this one below.

So this season, even if they were fighting, even when and after he lied to her, hid things from her, they were still on the same page and I think the wardrobe helps push this idea forward.

Because, before season 2, I was under this impression, that no matter what, they were both working towards the same goal.

And after Tina’s speech about being quiet when she wanted to speak and not being able to scream fire when she sees one, I believed she’d stick by him no matter what.

So imagine my surprise watching season two.

Apparently there, is a 10 image limit on tumblr, and I had almost 20 I wanted to add to this so I have to make a part two…...��

They Cloned Tyrone is a sci-fi mystery drama that follows the story of a drug dealer named Fontaine, who discovers a shocking conspiracy that his entire neighborhood is a part of. Starring John Boyega as Fountaine, Teyonah Parris as a sex worker, Yo-Yo, and Jamie Foxx as a pimp named Slick Charles, the film follows Fountaine and the gang as they try to figure out the truth while finding themselves sinking deeper into the rabbit hole of lies and secrets spread farther than they’d imagined. Fountaine, who was shot in a drive by shooting, came back the next day as if nothing had happened. Slick is shocked because he saw them murder him and immediately knows something is up. When they go to get Yo-Yo's help, they are led to an abandoned house where they find an underground lab where these scientist are running human cloning experiments. This is where they find Fountaine's dead body, the one that Slick had seen the day before.

Fountaine realizes that he is a clone and that the government is surveilling all of Glen, the fictional town in which they live. Slick finds a white powder in the lab which he figures out if being put in the chicken they eat, the hair relaxer at the salon, and in the juice they give out at the communion. Along with this, the music is also a factor of hypnotism against the black community.

In the end it is revealed that the government has made clones of most people in the community of Glen, specifically people like Fountaine and Slick, who are drug dealers and pimps, in order to damage the well being of the people. It is revealed that these simulations are running in multiple cities around the U.S. including L.A, Chicago, and Detroit(all cities with majority Black populations). The ending shows that Fontaine, Yo-yo, and Slick are nowhere near finishing what they started. The movie deals with topics such as free will, community, and personal responsibility. They indirectly address issues that the government has set up against the black community, such as gentrification, the crack epidemic, and police brutality.
