Okay so romantic Hiccup

So romantic Hiccup gave me all the feels in season 4 and I can’t even rn so I’m gonna quote like the most glorious otp moments from ep11 to try and help

Also spoilers below, read at your own risk! It’s quite a long post but even at that I’m leaving some moments out.

Episode 11: Blindsided (5:24 - 6:20) the will you stay with me scene

A: What is happening to me?

H: Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s only temporary. Remember when Bucket lost his sight? He got it back.

A: And now he wears a metal bucket on his head. Permanently.

H: ...True. Well all I’m saying is... Oh, Thor, what am I saying?

A: I know what you’re trying to do. And I appreciate it. Really.

grab hands, Hiccup gently pulls Astrid to her feet and hold her hand in both his.

H: Look, when there’s a break in the storm we’ll fly to Berk and see Gothi. She’ll be able to help you. But in the meantime, Astrid, you need rest.

A: No, we have to find Stormfly. She’s out there alone. All of the dragons are.

H: Don’t worry about that right now. Just rest.

Hiccup helps Astrid lie down on the floor.

A: Hiccup, are you still there?

H: Yes. Yes, I’m here, Astrid.

Hiccup grabs hold of Astrid’s hands.

A: Will you and Toothless stay with me awhile? Just until I fall asleep?

H: Of course. We’re not going anywhere, are we bud?

Episode 11: Blindsided (6:42-7:42) the parallel scene

A: Guys, we don’t have time to worry about me right now. We have to find our dragons. They’re still out there somewhere, and obviously scared or they would’ve come back.

H: Guys, she’s got a point. Let’s round them up before the next storm hits.

Hiccup walks toward Astrid, speaking directly to her now.

H: Toothless and I will find Stormfly, don’t you worry.

A: Wha- and leave me here? I don’t think so; I’m going with you.

H: Sorry. Not an option.

A: Listen, I’m more effective blind than some riders, who shall remain nameless, that are fully sighted.

T: Is she... looking at us?

R: She can’t see. Hence, she cannot actually look. Uh, so, no.

H: Astrid there is no way you are flying in your condition. Alright? I am sorry. As leader, I am putting my foot down.

Scene changes, Astrid is riding Toothless seated behind Hiccup.

H: Remind me never to put my foot down again.

A: I can still hear you, Hiccup. But I agree.

Toothless dives down slightly, catching Astrid off guard. She almost falls off, and Hiccup reaches back, grabbing her waist and pulling her back on.

H: Woah, okay, you gotta hold on tighter.

A: Sorry.

H: No, don’t apologize. Well, truth is, obviously I’m glad you’re here.

Astrid smiles, wrapping her arms around Hiccup and laying her head on his shoulder. Hiccup glances at her before smiling. *cough cough* HTTYD 1 parallel *cough cough*

Episode 11: Blindsided (9:55-10:30) the most awkward and adorable scene ever okay

H: I’m thinking, as jittery as the dragons were, they probably wanted to get as far away from the storm as possible. So, if we take this stream down towards the beach-

A: No, I know my dragon, Hiccup. She’s more worried about me than she is about herself. Which means she would be trying to find her way back to the Edge, upstream.

Astrid begins walking, but a rock is in her path. She trips and starts to fall.

H: Astrid!

Hiccup leaps over the rock, diving towards Astrid. He grabs hold of her, and they both hit the ground, Astrid laying on her back and Hiccup over her, propped up on his arms and staring straight down at her face.

H: I- uh- duh- y-you okay?

A: Uhm, I’m- I’m fine... We should probably get going?

H: Yeah! Yeah. That’s what- exactly what I was gon- get going.

Hiccup pulls Astrid to her feet.

Episode 11: Blindsided (13:30-14:37) the scene that made me have tears because sweet Jesus Hiccup this is too much for my shipper heart

H: Okay. Let’s mount up and get back to the Edge before that thing comes back.

Astrid slowly begins making her way towards Toothless.

H: Ah- no, Astrid that’s Toothless. Don’t you wanna ride Stormfly?

A: I think she’s made it clear she doesn’t want me riding her.

H: Astrid, she was protecting you. She didn’t want you in that fight. It- It was pretty cool if you think about it.

A: Well, I’m having a hard time finding anything cool in all of this.

Astrid takes a few steps, and Hiccup walks over, grabbing her arm.

H: Look. Obviously I can’t even imagine what this must be like for you. You’re- well, you’re Astrid. You’re strong, you’re invincible.

A: Not anymore.

Astrid turns around, now facing Hiccup.

A: What if this is it Hiccup? What if the rest of my life is like this? What then?

H: Then we’ll deal with it.

Hiccup grabs both of her arms.

H: Just because you can’t see doesn’t mean you’re helpless.

A: But that’s exactly how I feel.

H: Astrid, you and I have been through... everything together. You don’t think we can handle this?

Hiccup moves his right hand down, holding Astrid’s hand.

H: Astrid you have me. No matter what. Okay? Whatever that means; whatever you want it to mean- I am with you. There will always be a Hiccup and Astrid. Always.

Hiccup leans in for a kiss, but is interrupted by a disruptive sound.

Episode 11: Blindsided (20:50-22:10) THE SCENE WHERE I REALLY CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE OMG GUYS

H: You sure you’re feeling okay?

A: I’m fine Hiccup. You can stop worrying about me now.

H: Well, I never stop worrying about you. That’s just the way it is.

A: Yeah, yeah. I guess that goes for me too.

Hiccup scoots closer to Astrid, and she elbows him playfully.

H: Hey.

Astrid laughs, then looks down before speaking again.

A: Can I ask you something?

H: Sure.

A: Um, back in the forest? When we were... well, you know.

H: Yeah.

A: Were you about to...?

H: Oh, so- d-did - y-you felt that, huh?

Hiccup laughs nervously.

H: I felt like maybe I got away with it.

A: Well, why didn’t you?

H: Oh. Oh! Well I knew it wasn’t perfect. And I always thought that if it ever happened, uh- and yes, I’ve thought about it a lot -it had to be just perfect.

Astrid smiles, looking out to the sunset before looking back to Hiccup.

A: Well, this seems pretty perfect to me.

H: Yeah? ...Yeah. I guess it does.

Hiccup leans in, and they kiss. Hiccup then sighs, and wraps his arm around Astrid as she leans her head on his shoulder.

The Hiccstrid episode. And god. It was too much. My otp deserves this.
