The thing that gets me about male Charmed fans pushing for a male version of the Charmed Ones is that, AFAIK, there wasn't as much of an obsession with the idea until Joey Falco came out on social media with his plans for a hypothetical fifth season of Charmed (2018) that would have introduced a "triquetra-verse" where one universe was that of the Halliwells', the second was the Vera/Vaughn/Dansos' universe, and the third was for a universe where the Charmed Ones were male witches . . . only they would be college frat dudebros and exist solely to prove Falco's point that men can't handle magic.
(Weird take, considering the reboot he was a writer on since season 1 and then showrunner for season 4 went out of its way to show that male witches don't exist in its universe, but okay. The only male magic users in the reboot are Whitelighters, demons, and whatever the hell Jordan is by the end of the show with his healing ability.)
Plus, if people are that desperate for male!Charmed Ones:
The original series already had this concept with the Rowe coven of warlocks, with each generation of the Rowe line becoming stronger and stronger, culminating in the arrival of three brothers who would inherit an evil version of the Charmed Ones' Power of Three.
Season 5 under Brad Kern changed the sex of Piper's unborn child from a daughter to a son, and to top this all off, Wyatt was born on Imbolc (a Wiccan Sabbat) + was the never-before-mentioned prophesized Twice-Blessed Child with super-powerful magic potentially greater than that of the Charmed Ones. To make things worse, Season 6 reveals that he eventually inherits Excalibur and is basically the next King Arthur.
Fanboys wanting male Charmed Ones, to me, completely undermines and misses the whole point of why the original series (and even the 2018 reboot) has the Charmed Ones being female, and why the 1998 series based its witchcraft in Wicca.
Charmed (1998) was created by Constance M. Burge, who based the lead characters of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe on herself and her two sisters. The Craft came out two years earlier in 1996 & Practical Magic was also released in 1998: Hollywood riding on the sudden wave of popularity of Wicca in the United States now that the Satanic Panic from the previous decade was over. Teenage girls and young women were very much into exploring witchcraft / Wicca as a counterculture to the dominant mainstream religion/culture of Christianity.
Through using magic and witchcraft as an allegory, Charmed was able to explore real-life issues women face through its female leads: sexual harassment, work-life balance, mistreatment in the workplace, stalking, kidnapping, domestic violence, murder, religious & gender discrimination. It didn't shy away from the fact that women can, in fact, be abusers, murderers, and sexual predators. It also was not afraid of its female leads showing sexual interest in men and pursuing their desire on their terms, something not even Buffy the Vampire Slayer did: Buffy was punished by the narrative for having consensual sex with her vampire boyfriend Angel by him losing his soul and becoming Angelus.
All this, while having powerful female leads, and still including male characters who are powerful in their own right: Leo Wyatt, Cole Turner, Darryl Morris, Andy Trudeau, Victor Bennett, Sam Wilder. Charmed (1998) has its heroines being the most powerful good witches on Earth, saving Innocents and helping other witches, while allowing for the existence of male witches (in fact, it's stated in the pilot that all warlocks were once good witches who killed another witch to steal his/her power, making Jeremy, Rex, Nicholas, and all the other male warlocks seen on-screen former male witches--at least, those who became warlocks by killing other witches to steal their powers). The first male witch explicitly identified as such that we meet is Max, a thirteen-year-old boy who inherited his power of psychokinesis from his witch mother. (Max, his father, and his mother are all Black --- this is something not even the 2018 reboot did, by the way, despite two-thirds of that show's heroines being Afro-Latina.)
I could do without a male version of the Charmed Ones, because, frankly, men are not lacking in that sort of representation in other media: John Constantine, Doctor Strange, Tony Stark/Iron Man, Marvel Comics' take on Thor and Loki. Powerful male characters with superpowers (supernatural or scientific) are a dime a dozen. The Charmed Ones themselves are undermined in the later seasons with the introduction of Wyatt, whom one of the Whitelighter Elders conspires to kill in season 6 because they are so scared of his power level: that it's too much for one person to have. More, that he's the son of a Charmed One and a Whitelighter born on a Wiccan Sabbat, and the Warren line of witches was destined to become more powerful. This is also after Brad Kern, a straight cisgender man, took over the position of showrunner and executive producer from Constance M. Burge, the woman who created the series.
Charmed does not need a male version of the Charmed Ones, and fanboys pushing for it after coming into a female-led, female-created show, in a fandom primarily dominated by women and LGBTQ+ people (both, even!) have missed the point entirely.

   biography.
history.
Christopher, born Chris, is a 15 year old boy with Piper Halliwell and Leo Wyatt as parents. Chris suffered from a mild inferiority complex towards his brother, Wyatt. He is indeed jealous of his brother because the latter had powers in his mother's womb. Chris, from an early age, had a very strong relationship with his grandfather Victor Bennett. After his mother died when he was fourteen, Victor and Chris grew closer. Chris also felt a strong resentment towards his father, stating that Leo was there for the whole world but never for him.
Childhood.
Chris lives a healthy life, although his mother, after adult Chris died, was too afraid to take him out and kept him locked up in the Mansion. Piper was able to realize that Chris was not dead but had a new life. However, he was attacked by the demon Barbas but Piper, who temporarily gained Shakti's powers, was able to fight him and save her baby. Ever since Chris was born, everyone had paid more attention to the baby causing the jealousy of Wyatt who didn't hesitate to outshine his brother. However, Penny was able to cast a spell to suppress sibling rivalry before Chris was blessed by his ancestors at his baptism. Chris's powers didn't manifest until 2006 when he helped his brother Wyatt cheat a card game against their grandfather Victor by teleporting a card into his brother's hand. After Wyatt is kidnapped by Billie and Christy, Victor asks Chris to find Wyatt. Chris then successfully uses his Ranged Eclipse power for the first time.
Powers and abilities.
Much like his Aunt Prue, brother and sister, Chris's powers fall under the Power Of Mind category. Due to his condition of Benjamin in the siblings, Chris is, as tradition of power has it, less powerful than his brother Wyatt, he receives fewer powers and the latter are less powerful, but Chris is more powerful than his sister Melinda, who she is the least powerful of the siblings.
Basic powers.
Incantation: The ability to cast spells and perform rituals.
Creating Potions: The ability to create and use potions.
Location: The ability to locate a person or object using a crystal on a map.
Mediumship: Ability to invoke, see and commune with spirits.
                                            Active Powers
Wizard Powers
Telekinesis: The power to move objects and people by thought. This power can be channeled through the eyes or the hands. Chris uses this version more often than the hybrid version of light beings, the Telekinetic Eclipse.
Compression: The ability to create force around an object to crush it.
Strangulation: The ability to exert strong telekinetic pressure around a target's throat to suffocate it.
Power of Sorcerer Hybrids - Whitelighters.
Telekinetic Eclipse: The power to move objects through orbs. It is a hybrid power between telekinesis and the eclipse. Only the child version is seen to use it.
Remote Eclipse: The power to eclipse a person from one place to another without touching them. Baby Chris uses this power to teleport his brother Wyatt from the mansion to the apartment of Victor Bennett, his grandfather (Call from the Void).
Teleportation Manipulation: The ability to manipulate or interrupt the teleportation of others. Chris uses this power to send Leo to Valhalla .
Whitelighter Powers
Eclipse: The ability to teleport from one location to another using light orbs
Intangibility: The ability to use orbs to allow magical attacks or items to pass through your body without having to completely disappear. Chris used this ability when he was a prisoner of the slimy demon from Season 6's Make Love Not War episode to allow Piper to pulverize the demon.
Photokinesis: The power to create and manipulate light.
Detection: The ability to locate magical or mortal beings whose dependent being of light. Chris has this power because he is half a whitelighter.
Hogwarts.
The idea of moving from america to England when his mother died was something that his aunts and his father had thoughts about for him since a long time. He has lost the only person that he loved and the thought of seeing people around him suffer from that loose was something that actually push him away from them. Though, he’s in adoration of his grandfather, who is a muggle, he know it is for the best. Especially when Leo wants his son to control his powers. That’s why he moved in England with his aunt Phoebe and his uncle, Cooper. When he received his letter, his mother was still around and she didn’t wanted to let her second son go, the one she has lost one time, leave her side. It was nearly impossible for him to get out without receving calls from her, so, when she died, something in him died to. That’s why when her aunt told him that it was okay for him to go to Hogwarts, that his mother would understand, the young boy accepted right away, ending up being in fifth years due to his age.

Favourite Episodes of Season 5 of Charmed
1. A Witch’s Tail
I love mermaids which is why I love this episode! On my rewatch I noticed how they dealt with Piper’s anxiety which I thought was really interesting. It was a little sudden for her to have it but it did make perfect sense. She lost her mother so young and doesn’t want that to happen to her child. We haven’t seen how her mother’s death affected her. They always focused on Prue. So it was interesting to see how Patty’s death affected her. I liked that they had to her have panic attacks, freeze up and hide as though are all very relatable. Also having the Fearless spell as an easy way out of dealing with things - which I think we can all relate to and wish we could do!
That final scene though when she puts the picture of her and Patty in the new baby book and Patty writes ‘Grandma and Mommy’ will forever make me cry!
2. Happily Ever After
Honestly, any episode that has Jennifer Rhodes in it, I am going to love it (same with Finola Hughes). Having Paige and Grams meet for the first time was everything! There was a bit of resistance at the beginning from Paige but they got to bond. Paige calling her Grams at the end was adorable!
3. Siren’s Song
This one always makes me laugh because of Piper’s powers malfunctioning and then the baby switching Piper and Leo’s powers. Holly and Brian play off one another so well.
Also, the spell that Leo wrote was fucking hilarious! ‘We harken ye....”
4. The Eyes Have It
I remember watching this episode and thinking it was so gruesome with the eyes being gouged out. It was really disturbing when I was a kid!!! I like the episodes where they deal with other witches/Wicca. It is always cool!
5. Sympathy for the Demon
BARBAS!!!! Honestly, he is one of my favourite demons and this is one of my favourite episodes! We had never seen him play out Piper and Paige’s fear before so it was cool to see that. I could really relate to Piper’s thing of being happy and then something bad happens immediately afterwards. I feel that is something I deal with. That scene with Phoebe holding Paige’s body, sobbing about how she thinks she is evil. Holly and Alyssa have such good chemistry and bond that they really sell those emotional scenes well.
The whole Paige not being as good as Prue, I liked as well. Because I think it has been something Paige has felt since the beginning. The girls talk about Prue in such high regard (which they should) but I think Paige felt she had to reach that level. But she is just as good as Prue and there shouldn’t really be a comparison between the two.
6. A Witch In Time
Omg I remember watching this one when I got the DVDs. My sister only recorded the first 6 episodes of season 5 and that was it. I remember being so shocked when the demon vanquished Phoebe and Paige. It is also the first time the demon gets a hold of the Book of Shadows which is pretty fucking major.
Holly once again killing it with her acting after Phoebe and Paige’s death. SHE IS JUST A REALLY GOOD ACTRESS AND SHE KILLS ME WHEN SHE IS CRYING!
7. Centennial Charmed
100 episodes of Charmed and also marked the final episode of Cole Turner. Those last few episodes of Cole were the most interesting his slow descent into madness was amazing - Julian killed it. I liked that his whole motive for turning on the girls was so they could kill him. But then when he realised not even they could do that and Phoebe won’t take him back - he had to go back to when everything was good between him and Phoebe.
I liked seeing what would have happened if Paige didn’t bring the sisters back together. Piper full of revenge and rage trying to find Shax to kill him for Prue’s death and Phoebe becoming cold and in a loveless marriage. But Paige ultimately bringing them back together to defeat Cole.
I am not Cole’s hugest fan but I will say it was very sad to see him go. He is such an important part of their story, particularly Phoebe’s. But I am pleased they bought back Julian for the 150th episode.
8. The Day Magic Died
This episode had the comical moments of the sisters and Leo trying to deal with no magic and also had so much heart as well. I loved seeing them try and deal with having no magic and try to keep Piper calm. It had the great sister moment between Phoebe and Piper with Victor’s new wife talking about their sex life and Piper not wanting to be left alone with them lol!
That birth scene will always make me cry. The emotion, particularly between Alyssa and Holly, felt so real. Like Alyssa seemed to forget that they were acting and was completely caught up in the moment. Leo’s reaction to the fact they were having a boy was so fucking adorable. The fact Victor was their as well was really sweet. He was able to be there to support his daughter (save her life as well) and watch his grandson be born.
This isn’t in this episode but I have always loved that they named Wyatt Matthew after Paige and Leo. Particularly Paige because it made her feel more part of the family.
Also, the fact they were going to name the baby after Prue if she was girl broke my heart.
9. Cat House
Paige being able to see moments of the sisters before she knew them was awesome. This is one of those episodes that I wish they actually had used scenes that Prue was involved. It would have been cool for Paige to actually meet Prue in some way or another.
AND GETTING ALL THOSE PIPER AND LEO FLASHBACKS WAS ADORABLE.
Getting the backstory of Kit was also really cool.
10. Sense and Sense Ability
Honestly the funniest episode of the whole series. “PMS Monkey” will forever be one of my favourite lines of Phoebe’s. Phoebe and Paige’s interactions were really funny.
Having them lose one of their senses was a really cool idea. I know Brian had some hand in this episode but I don’t know how much - possibly just the idea. It said that he wrote it but on further investigation, he stated that the edited version from Brad was different from what he wrote. Which makes me sad coz I would have loved to see what Brian had come up with.
11. Oh My Goddess
FINALLY, MY BOY CHRIS HAS COME TO THE SERIES!!! My first TV crush and he is still so hot. Is next season going to be me just being in love with Chris? Yes it is!
This is a heartbreaking episode to be a Leo and Piper shipper. Leo becoming an Elder and having to leave Piper and his family was so sad. Holly was amazing at portraying that anger and heartache.
Also, can we just talk about the fact that Leo fucking saved the Elders from the Titan’s and they still put him through so much fucking shit in the show? THEY LITERALLY WOULDN’T EXIST IF IT WASNT FOR LEO SACRIFICING EVERYTHING FOR THEM.
I HATE THE ELDERS SO MUCH!

This has been bouncing around my head and it’s shaped into a complicated alternative universe idea. Cole transferred the Source to the wizard. The wizard leaves to bring back his kind and the Seer goes after him but Cole knows that she’ll be back for the baby.
Phoebe knows that Cole isn’t the Source anymore and it wasn’t him choosing to do those things but she needs some time to herself so she goes back to living with her sisters. Cole helps her pack and she calls Leo or Paige who takes her back to the manor.
I don’t know how they stop the Seer from stealing Phoebe’s baby but with Cole’s help the gang manage it. The baby isn’t evil in this version but due to circumstances out of everyone’s control he’s born in the manor so he has a higher chance to go either way once he’s older. Maybe Cole discussed with Phoebe whether the baby being born in the manor would raise the chance of him being good or maybe he thought that was too risky as it might push their son closer to evil. Cole wants to renew his wedding vows to Phoebe. I imagine this could end up happening before or after the baby is born. He’s wanted to do this right after he was released from the Source and saw her because she deserves that and he wants to marry her as fully himself, but he also thinks that doing a heavenly ceremony might cancel out the dark one and maybe that will even help their son.
After the birth Cole wants the baby to be christened so he’ll be protected against evil. Grams doesn’t want to do it but it’s not just because the baby’s a boy. She doesn’t want to bless a demonic baby and doesn’t think the baby should have been born. She’s talked around, though it’s harder to do than it was in Wyatt’s case in canon. In this version by the time Wyatt’s around she’s happy to do his christening but Melinda’s born first instead simply because I would have liked to see Piper get the baby girl she saw in the future. I know she does eventually and I have nothing against Wyatt but she wanted to see her daughter so badly and she was so sure it was a girl when she was pregnant in canon.
I don’t know what the baby is named. Cain is coming to mind but given its association with Cain and Abel I’m not sure Phoebe would want to name her son that. Maybe something with a P and Piper is the one to break the tradition when her baby comes along. Adam is also coming to mind, I know it was the name of one of Phoebe’s love interests but he didn’t show until after Cole and Phoebe were broken up and that doesn’t happen this time. In fact since Cole was the one who tried to get him to buy Phoebe’s paper maybe Adam doesn’t show up at all. Instead when a witch starts using fairy tales against the sisters it’s Cole that she enchants and he has no way to fight it as he’s just a regular human without powers.
Phoebe’s and Cole’s son isn’t the Twice Blessed Child but he does have a prophecy behind him. In canon the Seer foresaw something after all. If he is to turn evil he has a dark destiny ahead of him.
When the sisters defeat the Source and it doesn’t undo wizards having been brought back. They were around plenty in canon later on so I don’t know why the writers claimed the wizard’s kind had been wiped out to begin with. An angel of destiny still comes to the sister giving them the option to live magic free lives. Phoebe asks if this will change her son’s destiny and the angel admits that it wouldn’t so they turn him down thinking that they have a better chance of guiding him if they keep their magic.
I don’t know how Chris coming back from the future fits into this. If I don’t change the order of the births then maybe Piper never has her in Chris’s future. Or Melinda died as well as Piper. This would make Chris, Wyatt and Phoebe’s son the Charmed Ones or have the potential to be the Charmed Ones. Charmed Ones power wasn’t meant to be split between good and evil hence why turning Prue evil turned her sister’s powers evil (I know this is contradicted by Phoebe’s time being evil but the show contradicts itself all the time and this is an AU so Phoebe never turned evil anyway). So Chris and Wyatt are good and Phoebe’s son is bad, or Wyatt and Phoebe’s son are both evil or just Wyatt is evil. I didn’t realise this until I typed it out but I guess I’m keeping Chris good no matter what. He’s more developed than Wyatt so it’s easier this way.
The Ultimate Power story line was stupid and would be left out. Billie being Paige’s charge and Christy having been brainwashed by demons isn’t a terrible idea in itself though.
Unless someone else wants to write this probably won’t become a full fledged story but feel free to ask me questions about this and I’ll try to make up some stuff to answer those questions.
Edit: I had forgotten about some ideas. Victor and Cole bond over being parents to magical children while being powerless.
I don’t know how this changes the Avatars plot line aside from them not bothering to try to recruit Cole. If I wrote this I might leave out the Avatars all together.
