XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 3: FUTURE REDEEMED (2023)

Conceptually Jason coul have made a really good villain for Robin Tim.

I got into the fandom about 6 months before Damian showed up. And there WAS quite a bit of villain!Jason fanfic at the point, most of it centred around him and Tim. I really enjoyed it.

I like the current fanon Jason better, now. I like him as a grouchy and somewhat unstable brother. I like him as a book nerd and chef. I like him firmly believing everyone hates him while they desperately try to convince him to come home. I even like a lot of the stuff where the Pit is almost another personality which he is fighting!

But there's something REALLY intriguing about a Jason who's actually cruel. Who's completely in control of himself, and just likes hurting people. It's not really fair to the character, but I still enjoy it!

(I feel similarly about evil Talia. It isn't fair to the character, but the fanfic is fun!)

Despite everything he said in Future Redeemed, when it came down to it N was completely unwilling to kill his family (At least after the death of Ghondor).

During the fight at Raguel Lake, N tells Alpha that he has no qualms killing him despite the fact that he is currently possessing Na’el but N doesn’t kill her. Even when the Ontos core was damaged, N didn’t attack to finish them both off while he had the chance.

On Prison Island, he insinuates that he hasn’t killed Matthew because he is the only thing tying Na’el to the current world, but even after Alpha is defeated, even when he knows Matthew is roaming the earth setting soldiers free and killing other Moebius he doesn’t kill him or even try to stop him.

And I think most telling of all, when he interrupts the final battle he severs the tether between Na’el and Alpha. He had absolutely zero incentive to do that, it was a surprise attack, he could have killed Alpha then and there. But he chose to spare Na’el. Because N isn’t “divorced” from his feelings about his family. Matthew and Na’el are still part of Ghondor, still part of Mio, still part of him and represent that hope for the future he thought had died with the original Mio. The hope that was eventually reborn as Noah.

Tav x Durge: Mortal Enemies

Fanfic idea of Tav and Durge who met but they were each others nemesis prior to being tadpoled.

Tav was the heroic adventurer foiling evil Durge's plans and fighting him every step. When Tav wouldn't die Durge vowed to murder him as a sacrifice to Bhaal, he eventually got really obsessed.

Durge was like the reoccurring villain in Tav's story, someone that kept hunting them down but they met Durge each time with a real fight.

Then Durge lost his memories and Tav is lost when their most dangerous enemy is suddenly nice and wants to do good.

Even better if Durge goes 'I don't remember anything about my past but my gut tells me I could trust you and you meant a lot to me!'

its really funny but also full of angst potential when Durge realizes what they did to Tav or trying to do.

Bonus if they fall in love. Obsession reborn into true love when Tav encourages them to be better, who forgives them when they had all the right to exact their vengeance. Tav could be the only one who understands Durge and their past with the history they shared.

Butler is goading them into finally sinking their blade into their mortal enemies heart. Finally after all these years, their master can accomplish their life's goal. Tav is abt to punt him into a river

Tav would be so proud to see them redeemed. Lowkey enemies to lovers ig??

In another life Tav would find Durge's corpse in Orin's room and place a flower next to them. Having hated him but felt bad for him all the same. Recognizing he was set up to fail by his father. Probably one of the few if only people who would have shown such a gesture.

bg3 is getting popular and the fandom is getting bigger so i’m just gonna say this now lol

i’m already waiting for the astarion hate to begin just because he’s a popular character and the internet always gets mad when someone gets popular lol :/ “he’s so overrated!!!!”, “he’s not even that good”, “he’s horrible and mean”, blah blah blah. he’s a well-written and very complex fictional character with an incredibly talented voice actor that most of us have been excited to see in the full game for the past 3 years. people are allowed to like him. he’s popular for many reasons, not just “wow handsome vampire”. his character tropes are also very popular in fiction and people tend to get drawn to characters like him because they’re interesting, have deep backstories and we want to see redemption arcs. enemies to friends + enemies to lovers are also some of the most well-loved tropes. characters being loved and popular is NOT a bad thing and i don’t know why people get so bitter about it. and fyi this isn’t about people who simply don’t like him for their own reasons, i understand why he might not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s totally valid, it’s more about people who only randomly started to hate him just because he’s popular

it kinda reminds me of when the internet turned on eddie munson from stranger things. i still can’t get over how everyone immediately switched up on him and hopped on the hate bandwagon just because he became popular. and then it became “trendy” to hate him. people who previously liked him when volume 1 came out totally changed and then started picking out every tiny little flaw just to hate on him. i used to see edits of him everywhere and then it turned into calling him cringe and making fun of anyone who liked him. even cosplayers got hated on and bullied for… having fun? like yeah you might find some things cringe but the way the entire internet bullied these people and enjoyed laughing at them was SO weird to me

again, it’s totally fine for people to dislike certain characters and have their own opinions. but ONLY hating on them just because they’re popular and then trying to guilt trip/make people feel like idiots for liking them is so weird
