Been having so much fun with a pokemon generator I just HAD to make a gymsona for this, I'm a psychic type gym leader and so far the only fakemon I've named are bibbley (on my shoulder) and applomye (green one at the bottom left) so I would LOVE some name suggestions for the others!!
[I.D. a photo of an ink and colored pencil drawing of a gymsona standing with their fakemon in a triangular formation. The gym leader stands in the center one arm behind his back and the other holding up a pokeball close to their face and making a peace sign. The trainer has short curly and glasses that are fogged and cover his eyes. Their outfit from head to toe is purple and magenta. They wear a short purple halter top bodysuit, long magenta fingerless gloves purple combat boots with magenta soles and magenta hair. On the chest is a pokeball slightly distorted to resemble an eyeball. This emblem is also on a dangly earring on his right facing ear and on a bag tied to their hip. The trainer is wearing a mischievous smile Above and slightly to the left of the trainer is a white mothlike creature with large sunset-orange wings, a pill shaped body with one closed eyed with light red eyelids, and two red antennae in which an orange orb floats between them. On the right shoulder of the trainer is bibbley, who has a square brown head and little brown arms, one holding onto the trainer and one waving. Underneath the arms is pink puffy material somewhat resembling a dress. Bibbley has a dark pink strawberry-shaped object on his head, beady eyes and a round pink nose with no mouth. Slightly below bibbley is a fakemon with a rabbit head, pink butterfly wings and a fluffy pink dress. The rabbit head has a thin yellow v-shaped crown, dark pink spots on the wings and dark accent lines on the dress as well as dark pink ocular eyes. Below this one is a small mon with a simple white body with short pointy legs, asymmetric mushroom wings somewhat resembling morels and a coral-like headpiece with many thin blank eyeholes cut out. On the left side of the trainer is a tall humanish mon with blue-gray skin and wearing a white gown vaguely reminiscent of a lab coat. This mon has large claws and wears a white asymmetrical headpiece that covers the left half of its face and rises into two spikes. The right half of its face has one closed eye in a seemingly cheery expression with tears streaming down it. There's blue hairlike shapes behind its head. The final fakemon, applomye is under the previous and is green and shaped like an apple with little limbs, a large leaf on the top of its head, a third eye with a tiny pupil, and two eyes underneath in a sort of eye mask shape with a round brown nose. End I.D.]

It’s my city and I say my E.cho’s face will be in the 1-2 variant of her concept art.  2 - Being how she looks a majority of the time before Liao dies an explosion and when her ‘face’ isn’t being projected 1- Projecting a face that was humanoid subconsciously structured and based around Liao’s features (used more after her death - she doesn’t want to the world or herself to forget mina ) given her heavy exposure to the scientist. often used in social situations in attempt to make others around her comfortable when flat out duplicating someone wouldn’t be appropriate. or when unsneakily sneaking in a scan. features always fall into the uncanny

So, I don’t post alot of my Lore Based stuff. But, I’ve hit a creative burst since watching Dream SMP. And given, I have a whole truck full of Minecraft Lore/World Building, thought I’d share some of it.
I’ve posted some on my Wattpad, but this post is going into the many species and races of my Minecraft World. Later I might post about how this fits into some made up Lore I did for the Dream SMP.
I’ve always pulled inspiration from other creators, so I will be sure to mention them should I know who they are.
Also also, this whole thing was made possible by my long time friends on wattpad. Bloxiegirl123 and @littlewolf651 They both gave me so much inspiration for this stuff through many talks and us just goofing off.

Netherains: These are the people of the Nether, under the rule and protection of Herobrine. They live in the inner cities of the Nether, when we the players spawn there it’s on the out skirts, and look like more taller and ‘humanish’ piglins. Who are there own species  They are a very isolated people, Netherains, having a demonic heritage, are destructive by nature. They prefer the company of themselves or close family over the company of many people. They also prefer their own kind over any other species and races of the realms.
They have a equal mindset, both men and women are capable of being warriors, merchants, and so forth. Males typically have larger fangs, be them lower or upper jaw, and large scrunched up noses. While females have smaller noses that are flatter and tinier fangs (Think like orcs). Male ears tend to be longer and pointed, while females tend to have short ears that are also pointed. As for body builds, really that depends on parents, some are just bigger and able to gain muscles faster than others, while some are skinnier and take longer to build up. The only real difference between males and females is that the females can give birth and their physical looks.
Strangely females don’t have breasts, actually how their young feed is often from mushed up food as babies are both already with teeth in place and able to digest soft foods.  Young typically grow up fast, and by the time they reach 7 seasons of age, they are given their first weapon to train with.
All members of the Netherain people are able to fight, regardless of their profession in life. Why do you think not many want to fight Hero’s army, it’s not just because of the mobs.  To know of a human/nether baby is in the eyes and skin tones and sometimes ears and teeth.
Netherains are of the dark/light browns and red skin tone, they are fire resistant, and their eye colors rang from common browns, blacks, to the slight less common golds and red, to the more uncommon silver and grays. Their eyes are narrowed and their color covers their whole eye with the only difference being in their pupil (should their eyes not be black).
Their hair tends to be of the braided, with gems weaved into them. (The inner nether is very gem rich, there is a reason Hero is also considered the ‘Rich God’). Some even shave the sides for the middle to be in a pony tail. Others prefer the more wilder hair types or even dreads.
Some facts about them. - They only use gold as a accessory or coin, but it’s considered to be of low value and do trading in gems and items. - They are a culture rich people, with many stories, superstitions, and foods. - They mostly eat spicy foods, to a normally person their ‘mild’ is very hot. - Mostly meat eaters, due to having more fanged filled mouths, babies teeth are duller until they reach 5 seasons old. - Some live in villages while some live in the city, each set of people has it’s own brand of fire magic used, from lava, lightening, and some even coat themselves in fire. However, they don’t see a difference, Village is just like saying ‘I come from the west and use lightening’.  - They used to be at war, until Hero united them.
Valkyries: These are the race of the Aether people, some call them Aetherains too but most prefer Valkyrie. They are under the rule of Notch and some even are his personal guards and fighters.  Their main job however is guiding souls to the afterlife and protecting their homeland , the Aether or Ether.
Some call them ‘angels’ though this is just a preference really, and really just less of a mouthful for humans. Honestly, Valkyries don’t really care being called them.  Anywho, this race is very social with each other, relationships range from Platonic to Romantic. They help groom each other wings, share the news of the day like this, and they enjoy being touched, held, cuddled.
Valkyries can have relationship and kids with other Valkyries, though there isn’t much need for sex or reproductions due to them being near immortal. However, half babies are considered taboo after the last war with Herobrine.
Typically ‘families’ have their own looks and styles. But all Valkyries have some form of light hair and eyes.  Wing types also are a family trait, some families have many wings, others have only one pair. Some have darker wing colors, some are speckled, some are just lighter, some are just one color. They range from Large, Medium, or Small in size.  Family trees tend to have their own types of magics, be it better healers, better fliers, or able to conjure weapons, some share these traits but not wing size and looks, or vice versa. (Basically some family can have the same wing look, but different magics, and the same is true in reverse.)
Valkyries have pale skin tones ranging to more yellowish hues or tanish hues. This is in their ‘human form’ in their Valkyrie form they are wind like creatures, made up of elements with vaguely ‘human’ like bodies, though some look more bird like.  Eye color ranges from the common golds, greens, to the less common teals, and the uncommon blues. Hari tends to be blond, dirty blond, or even silver and white. They like long hair, smooth, wavy sometimes, with many small things weaved into it. Some have pointed ears, some don’t, some even have feathers for ears. Some Facts: - They don’t really have a ‘gender’ concept. As they are able to turn themselves whatever gender. Though, unlike like Voidlings and Enders, they do tend to stick with one of the other after a while. Though it’s not uncommon to see some who are non-binary.  - Young grow up slowly, one of the downsides is due to their immortality slowly coming into place. This causes slow aging of the body and sometimes the mind. Unless they are hybrids of another species. - Though immortal, they can be killed through fatal wounds with weapons made by Voidlings or Netherains. But humans weapons, the only one that could remotely harm them, is the Netherite weapons. Due to being a crude recreation of Netherain weapons.
Humans: Considered to be a pet project of Notch, that was somewhat of a disaster, and was the third creation to walk the Overworld, Villagers being the first, then Players or Spawns and Mobs being the Second.  Humans have a very short life span along with Villagers, confined to a 100 years to 150 years at best. Taking both the qualities of destruction and creation to make a race had them not be as long living.  However, humans come in ‘genders’, thought this is just because some are just born looking one way to the other or a mix. So they came up with ‘gender’s to tell them apart.  Females have breasts and give birth while males don’t. Different sex organs and such. Really this was just made for repopulation means, Notch didn’t really have ‘Male’ and ‘Female’ in mind.
To keep it brief, as they are pretty much the same as we are. They come in many skin tones of light to dark depending on climate and area born. They also have a very complicated history with other races. It’s gotten better over the years in the future though. And sometimes they fight with each other. Most of these problems are due to Notch trying to use Destruction in their making, then he’s a Creation God. Opps.
However, they are a culture rich race as well, and in the recent years have done some great feats with the help of other races. But their past is complicated, luckily Hero did help his brother after the second war to curb any problems later, evolution!
Players/Spawns: This race comes in all shapes, looks, and sizes. They are created by mostly Herobrine with some help from his ‘Father’ and ‘Grandfather’. As Mobs hadn’t turned out the best as he hoped.  Having the power the ‘Respawn’ in a place they made, and can live for a few 100 years. They don’t really have a set gender or look, as they can be any and everything. Some classify them as ‘Shapeshifters’ and that is about as close as we can get to a category for them.
They can be half Ender, Zombie, Spider, Cat, to even stranger species. Some can even have Netherain or Valkyrie traits. As when they mate, they have a change of making a Player due to near immortal or magical beings mating with humans.  Really Player as a ‘race’ is complicated as genetics play a big factor. Should a human family have any non human blood in their line, it’s very possible to give birth to a Player.
Most tend to worship Herobrine, though some do worship other gods of the world.  Eventually, they do die, but they live for longer than most would think. And their live styles are very diverse, so it’s hard to pinpoint them. They all just go under this category is they are able to ‘Respawn’.
Not much else is known about them though, and they are very secretive about their creation myths. At least ‘OG Spawns’ are, meaning they have no other genes or blood in them other than ‘Player’
Some facts: - The first Spawn ever was a man named Steve, who later became immortal and the husband of Hero.  - They are the second race we know the least about. - Some call them ‘Protectors’ as they are protective of any race who can not protect themselves. - OG Spawns live with Mobs in large cities away from non-player reach. Though, it’s rare for even some Players of today to find them. Due to conflicting feels about Mobs and their need to attack humans and villagers.
Enders: These are the tall, mysterious people of the End, under the ruling of the Queen and King, Jean and Ignis.  They are lanky, the shortest they can be is 6 feet in height, and the tallest being 13 feet tall. Long arms with claw like fingers for some, and some have very boney appearances. They are naturally skinny looking with sharpen teeth in the front and more flatten teeth in the back.
They have a very scholarly society, putting the pursuit of magics and knowledge as the highest form of profession. Being there is only one way in and out of the End, they aren’t attacked the much, and have a decent relation with their Demonic cousins of the Void.
Their society tends to be everyone looks after everyone. There are no real ‘families’ as the young are taken care of by everyone and taught by everyone. Expecting bearers are housed in a nursery, and take care of the child, until they are old enough to walk and talk, then the children are to live with chosen Parentals until they reach Apprenticeship age, 13, and choose a profession, and live with their mentor until they are 21.
Like their cousins, they are very possessive of things, though capable of more empathy than them. ‘Mine’ in their langue has many meanings, often it’s considered a high honor for an Ender to claim you if you are not of their race. As it can mean ‘friend’ ‘family’ ‘brother/sister’ or ‘lover’ and among other means.
They range from purple tones to greyish tones in skin color, some even have dragon like traits though it’s noted these are of the noble statues. Eye colors rang from common purple hues and some reds, the less common blue and green hues, and the uncommon blacks and white eyes.  Hairs tend of the dark purple, black, and sometimes white, they have shorter hair styles to sometimes no hair at all. Thought long hair isn’t uncommon, it’s just less seen.
Some Facts: - They tend to have a view of being a ‘perfect race’ at least the older generation those, the newer tends to be more open minded.  - Not may outsiders are allowed into the cities, those that are don’t leave that often much less talk about it.  - They are in close contact, allies, with OG Players and Valkyries, though they tend to dislike Netherains.  - They are also a type of Shapeshifter, more so than Valkyries and Players. - They have no gender, and are born without parts to reproduce. Reproduction is done by magic/science and the ‘baby’ placed into the ‘carrier’ to grow until they are ‘cut out’ of the body. - That is considered a big deal, and takes alot out of the carrier, they are treated very well by the whole society. To harm a child or carrier is considering an offense punishable by death.
Voidlings (Demons, Daemons, Dreamons, Pure Ones): These beings go by many names, some we don’t even know of. They are the first race of beings to have ever lived, just under the Gods.  Created by the OG Gods of Destruction and Creation, (Tristan and Terrance), and they live in the Void.
There are many sub levels of the void, the one we see of the endless pit of blackness. To two more levels that aren’t the well known, it’s thought Voidlings live on this level.  They come in two categories, those of the Destructive and Chaotic nature and those of the Creative and Orderly nature.
Demons are more inclined to be of the Destructive and Chaotic Nature under the rule and laws of Lord Tristan. They are playful beings, loving to cause trouble and bring chaos with them. Though, they seem to dislike killing their targets. Daemons are more inclined to be of the Creative and Orderly Nature, under the rules of laws of Lord Terrance. They are stubborn, cold hearted, and harsh beings. Some have been known to kill their targets should they be displeased with them.  Dreamons are a mixed bag, some are Destructive and just playful, Some are Creative and enjoy helping, some are Orderly and a little harsh to people they see beneath them, and some are Chaotic and care little for life. It’s unsure who you get until you meet them, so be careful.
They are called ‘Pure Ones’ due to the fact they were the first race to be created by the Gods.  They do not reproduce, they are created and there is a set number of them. They are also extremely hard to kill, most can only be banished back to the Void. They each represent something, with strange names. Example, (And I’m use Dream SMP here) Eater of Dreams or Truth Where Lies Meet.
Size is everything, it’s indicates power, the bigger you are, wide or tall, the more powerful you are. And they can take many shapes and forms.
Some facts: - They can’t feel empathy or sympathy, but they can be possessive of things they consider ‘theirs’. - They can look human like or something indescribable, however horns tend to be a common trait - They are true shapeshifters, meaning they can take any shape they please. - They possess people they find a ‘kinship’ with, to escape the void. - In their true form, they can’t walk anywhere but the Void, thus need a vessel to do so. - To fall into the void either results in death, or becoming a Voidling yourself. It’s unsure how this happens. - Some are born a ‘Natrual vessels’ with means they are prime targets for posession from a certain Voidling. - Void/Demonic Magic is the oldest living magic and can corrupt people easily
RACES I NEED TO DO LATER
Gods- Tristan, Terrance, Hero, Notch, Victor. Sub Gods  Villagers Mobs Socrerers/Mages

Fairy Breeds
This doesn't have information on all fairy breeds. Because there are definitely a lot more than this in the Purple Pond universe. But these are the some of ones I've named and made a list of traits for.
Magihans
Magihans can be any magic type. They start out with a small floating body and detached floating arms. As they mature, they will grow legs. Upon reaching the adult stage of development, their arms fuse to their head and their legs fuse to their bodies
All magihans develop a humanish shape as they mature.
A magihan can make things disappear by clapping them between their hands. Success depends on the fairy's skill and what they're trying to get rid of. They use a similar technique to eat
Angel
Exclusively light type fairies. Angels have rings growing in or around their head. Their ring is unconnected at birth and will connect fully when they are adults. They are palely colored and usually at least vaguely human looking. They may grow extra parts as they mature.
People sometimes confuse Angels for Archangels but the difference between the two is that Archangels may be any magic type besides light. Angels can only be light types
Cadabuddies
They are exclusively void type fairies. They physically resemble carnivorous or omnivorous species(excluding humans). Their flesh is palely colored. Their fur/hair(if they have any) may be palely colored or black
There are bone-like parts poking out of their bodies. At birth, those parts are black but they will lighten to bleach white as the fairy progresses towards adulthood
Steampet
Exclusively fire/fire-subtypes or water/water- subtypes.
Steam is always coming from their bodies. They are modeled after mammals(excluding humans).Steampet flesh is hard and difficult to pierce.Gears grow from their bodies as they mature. After the gears grow in, they will change color once, and this change will indicate that the steampet has reach adulthood.
Inkblot
Exclusively void type fairies
The only fairy breed so far to never mature. Feeding them magic only makes them bigger. They are tar black blobs who can harden or reshape themselves at will.
Goolgaons
Exclusively wind and void type fairies.
Their bodies resemble fabric draped over a floating figure with a mask over the part where the face should be. Their legs and arms are detached from their bodies. When they mature out of the baby stage, one hand will grow a fully formed mouth on the palm. They are adults when both hands possess a fully formed mouth.
They can phase through solid objects with ease.
They cannot eat with their mask like faces. However, their faces are moveable and a goolgaon will shift its face upward to get food to the mouth underneath.

yee! ill put this under a cut bc its long and features eye/body horror
also this turned more into me rambling abt using uncanny valley srry if its not much help fjdsjf
[note before starting: this advice only mostly deals w drawing faces]
i think the best way to make something unsettling is to create a disconnect between parts of the face, so u can recognize elements of it as human, but its all....wrong
here’s a small explanation on uncanny valley with wolves as an example:
Tumblr media
1. the one on the left is drawn as a non anthropomorphic animal (so ur brain doesnt react negatively to it having no expression)
2. the one on the right has anthropomorphic features (humanish eyes, expressive eyebrows and mouth), and it doesnt look jarring because it uses a simple cartoony style with enlarged eyes to make it look Cutesy
Tumblr media
3. (uncanny valley) the one on the left here has anthropomorphic features like the cartoon one (human like eyes that are shifted up the skull , an outline vaguely where your cheekbones are, rounded teeth and a smiling expression) but your brain will immediately react badly to this style due to:
human proportioned eyes, but no eyebrows to indicate expression
too much detail on the shapes of the face
too many teeth showing
the eyes not having any highlights and dark shading in/around them, which makes them appear slightly dead
4. the one on the right is simplified like the cartoon one, so its smaller eyes and more humanish eyebrows dont look odd. the shine on the eyes also helps to make it not look like a zombie
and heres how 2 apply it to ur art on purpose! this is a chibi of my oc mike, styled in a cartoonish/chibi way
Tumblr media
his mouth/eyes/eyebrows are all in the same style and expression, so he looks cute
Tumblr media
if you take away his eyebrows and make his eyes more realistic(ish), with way too much detail on the iris, it makes him look unsettling (no eyebrows and giant staring eyes look pretty sinister on a chibi)
it also helps 2 shift your characters view to be looking directly at the viewer, and put red highlights under the lower eyelid
you could just stop here and call it done.........but....
Tumblr media
u can go even worse by giving ur character a set of teeth that clearly doesnt belong 2 that style! (altho overdoing the sharpness of the teeth can slightly ruin the effect imo)
if you want to make it Even Worse:
Tumblr media
turn up the contrast on ur character and get some bright clashing colours (cyan, magenta, purple, lime green, etc) and then pretend ur a demonic child and attack the art with a crayon brush fdjsfhdksjf
you can select parts of their face and move them around crudely to make them look like a collage of sorts!! (like this guy below) make it look all thrown together!
Tumblr media
remember to put emphasis on the parts u want to stand out (like the eyes/teeth/pupils)
(ofc you dont have to only modify the eyes/mouth to make smth scary, its just a common way of dropping the cute/endearing factor of a creature to 0% )
tl;dr : make the style nice but also make eyes and teeth look scary and then ruin ur art with crayons from hell

i had a dream with lion-unicorns.... lionicorns.... They more or less just looked like unicorns but they kinda had a more... lion mane?
Tumblr media
so there were these animals, maybe lions or wolves or..? Uh they were pack animals, had thick black fur, some kind of antlers that COULD in very rare cases take the shape of a single horn. They were somewhere roughly between the size of a wolf and a deer but with small kids like, well; a goat kid or a lamb. They were kinda extremely hunted, though I'm not sure if it was just by humans or other animals - kinda got the feeling they were prey animals but also those connections to predators hm. Also, the lionicorns were like their gods.
There was five lionicorns and they had their own kinda artsy specialities, like the muses of old greek mythology.
And I was with a young one horned one and one or two other human kids, and they had figured out to summon the gods and they did. And there were this older female *animal* who also had a single horn, mother to the little one horn keeping a wary eye on them. They lived in a house basically, not wild but rather some kind of protected area. And after all the other gods had presented themselves in some showy routine, the nr 1 big lionicorn appeared and didn't do anything special or showy yet everyone was like WHOA because it was such a humbling feeling to be in front of something so powerful and grand so everyone just quietly stared where he stood like personification of light. But he turned and looked at and went up to Mama (the first one to interact or say anything at all) and talked some kind of vague weird stuff about lies and stuff, scary af the way he looked giant, but not illwilling.
Anyway, turns out the kid was not at all her only son but rather she had had three before him (kinda assumed dead) that she had never once mentioned.
Flashback time
As a one-horned one they were always kinda idolized and considered to be meant for something big. She was also the leader of a pack in the mountain-forrests and very well liked by everyone. Then her (first) son that she loved a lot (and was a one horn, just like her) was killed in an attack by hunters where he together with some others fought back to save the rest of the pack. She had also been there and was heavily wounded and traumatized after the death of her son, but did get out and back to the pack that were hidden away. She returned to the pack just to be challenged for the position of a leader by a mean male, which he easily won because. Obviously. Not very cool. He more or less went ruthless though she could barely fight back to begin with, leaving her at the brink of death and barely concious. The pack wasn't very happy about what had happened - because it was unfair, because they didn't like meaniepants and they DID like mama. But technically it was within their rules, so the pack agreed to accept him as their leader without fuss, as long as they were allowed to help Mama because she was still alive at this moment, but barely. Which he allowed, so they all went and used some kind of magical power they had to heal her as well as they could. Which wasn't that much, because their powers weren't that strong (not like hers), but she was no longer on the brink of death and she would survive - though she was still barely conscious in the exhaustion. The others then accepted the meaniepants as their leader, and it kinda was suggested he more or less then raped Mama (though, like, still, animals, things worked differently though i make it seem kinda humanish the way I describe all of this. They very much were animals.) because she was still, you know, special. And that was how she had had two other sons - neither of them with one horn, and neither of them she could ever find in herself to love though she kinda thought she was horrible for it. They were mostly raised by their father whom DID have great pride in them, and kinda became assholes themselves. Mama was pretty much permanently damaged and never could gain back her strength either mentally or physically, so she never fought to get her role back.
I'm not sure what happened with them, but I remember a "scene" of humans packing caught animals into a truck, some young ones trying to escape and almost getting out so they picked them up (about the size of a baby goat) and crushed their heads under the car before throwing the bodies back inside. So. And it was talk about how terrible and damaging this industry was, like a documentary.
Either way Mama was never captured, but she was alone. She returned to her old packs land, which were completely grown over and different now that no one had lived there for a long time. There were also two horses there and the space were fenced in, but it was actually a good person that had made it so so that she would be safe there! Though she was the only one of her kind.
Either just before or a little after that she birthed her fourth son, present day son, and he looked just like her though I have no idea whom his dad was. Possibly something divine. Actually yeah, pretty sure it was one of the gods. And she never told him about any of these horrible things that had happened to her, just that their race were pretty much extinct and they had to be careful. Which were also true, but, you know. She was a little older at this time so it was a big age difference obv. and he really lacked playmates his own age, so he had gotten some human friends (which were connected to the whole protection thing, it was their family who put up the fences) due to playing around. They found some old mythological stuff and were able to summon the gods, briefly. And thaaat leads us back to the start.

a lot of my dreams involve driving, now much more heavily than they did before i knew how to, but usually now its not scary, just Part Of The Story. i need to Get Somewhere.
a lot of em have also involved flying in some way lately which i find interesting because im fucking terrified of heights and the idea of falling but last night i was gliding and trying to figure out how to get higher up, and ive flown with wings, with magic, on mounts, and somehow im never actually afraid
theres also a lot of school that i may or may not actually be attending which never fails to fuck me up because the school i dream of is like some weirdass mall with no rhyme or reason to it, then theres always creepy fucked up/surreal/dilapidated buildings that seem like they should be haunted or part of some supernatural horror movie but just make you Think instead (usually itll be where i live in the dream), then theres often sleeping, me having Girlfriends, going to food places, the store, and ofc theres almost always some weirdass animals and/or my cats involved
(oddly enough, any time theres food involved, i never eat. i look at the food if its out but ill never take or order anything...?)
theres also often people i dont know or vaguely know (like old family friend-families) just kinda chilling and/or living with me, and if one of my parents show up theyre usually antagonistic
and of COURSE, most of my dreams end up having Video Game aspects to them. ive made multiple trips to the same dungeon/cave that respawns with “enemies”?, ive flown over maps full of mobs with chunks of sort of different Zones and went to my Quest Destination to find Specific Person for Specific Reason (i dunno about battles tho? i think ive stealthed around a lot of potential fights, guess my subconscious is as bad at writing combat as me awake), ive even done a multi-part escort quest/scenario deal in some egypty desert place where we were in airships and shooting down at huge waves of mobs and then we hit this huge door and had to go by foot through a temple that was cavernous and mazelike and at the end we emerged to a completely different ecosystem and it was wild. lately ive also been to a beach under siege where people are fighting some sorta demons and theres wreckage and airships and the lighting is sometimes pretty red and dark, but the hills and cliffs by the beach include a cave that leads to a spidery tunnel that usually ends up leading to an underground building of some sort
theres been like, theme park rides in a couple (like uh, roller coasters n shit) which are always the same of a small chunk (like theres some water log slide i get a lot) but i almost never actually ride them, just end up walking around on the parts u go up to get to the top
(i have been on a couple water slides in my dreams which are always crazy, long, and sometimes scary, but tbh i love water slides irl, even if i almost drowned at the end of one as a kid because my mom weighed a lot more than me and the double tube flipped and i ended up under water and my dumb ass still doesnt know how to swim to this day.... mom got me tho all good)
sometimes my actual irl friends show up which is always interesting since i know them primarily through the text they send me online, so i feel like even tho i know what they all actually look like they show up in my dreams as a very vague entity that my brain just kinda fills in the context for (”that fuzzy humanish shaped form is karen” “sure, okay, seems legit”) and they never seem to behave “in character”
(probably due to my own insecurities)
then theres always those strange dreams where im in mutual dokis with someone i have 0 feelings for irl where i wake up afterwards and lay there like..... shit.... DO I like that person???? do I NOW?
(no. it’s just a dream, dumbass. i knew damn well who i liked in high school and it wasnt her.)
then theres stuff that shows up a lot in dreams that are usually actually kinda nice, like the long roads surrounded by nothing but empty dirt that lead into craggy mountains that end in this beautiful cliff cave-like thing with open walls so youre shaded but can see by sunlight, with a lake that waterfalled into another clear lake outside, and in the cave is a perfect little sitting balcony where ive often gone by myself but also have brought others to (including dazzle?)
and shit that shows up in a lot of the Bad Dreams, like the one-lane highways that for whatever reason turn into super high, twisty ramps with no fucking sides at all
oh and not to mention any time i feel really insecure in a dream im usually dating or trying to get back with my ex i was with for 6 years because all the time ive spent single since makes me wonder if i made the right choice because maybe hes the only person who’ll ever actually love me lmfao so hes always rly nice and supportive of whatever im feeling weird about (my teeth, my body, my unshaved legs, etc), except then sometimes my dreams remind me of the whole pressure/guilt-coerced sex and various other shitty parts of what we had so YEAHHHH
anyways theres a lot more i cant think of rn too but there u go, a buncha dream rambles from me

you said the god of the earth likes to appear as a rock? what. what is that like
basically it is earth being a dick lmao
she has a long-standing Beef with life over life giving up its physical form Forever in order for actual non-godly life to exist, and also over the whole godmasks thing, and only like... takes on inorganic forms because of that?? spite!!
her favourite form is like... a big ol’ rock monster that only looks very vaguely humanoid in that she’s got two legs and walks upright, and has Kind Of a humanish face?? a face made up of holes cut into the rock and glowing with the dull red heat of magma but you know. it’s not like, one lump of rock carved into a movable shape either it’s like. a bunch of rocks piled up. big rocks. rocks held together with sheer force of “fuck you if i have to have a body this is it get lost”
when she’s Particularly grumpy tho people have the distinct pleasure of literally talking to a wall. (it’s more “heart of the mountain fuck you” than wall but STILL.) it is highly, highly annoying when she does it, since to talk to her like that requires a direct mental link and she’s never heard of an indoor voice. also it’s real easy for a mountain to ignore you. there is a handful of people who can talk to her when she’s in that form, and half of those are gods
she also has a much more Nice form which is Walking Tree, which humanoid in the same way her rock body is humanoid, ie Just Barely. she only uses that form when she’s real happy tho bc Organic Life Can Eat Me (literally do you know how many bugs eat trees it’s gross, also squirrels?? birds??? get out of there)

Whenever I try to imagine my friends on here, I don’t ever see real people. Like, even if I’ve seen pictures of them. All I can picture in my head is, like, a vague humanish shape with their icon where the face should be. (This has been Weird Facts About Rea, tune in again next week!)

‘Yes. That’s right. You’ve got it exactly.’
Conina and Creosote exchanged glances. Nijel remained sitting proudly in the saddle, a faint smile on his face.
‘Is your geese giving you trouble?’ said the Seriph.
‘Geas,’ said Nijel calmly. ‘It’s not giving me trouble, it’s just that I must do something brave before I die.’
‘That’s it though,’ said Creosote. ‘That’s the whole rather sad point. You’ll do something brave, and then you’ll die.’
‘What alternative have we got?’ said Nijel.
They considered this.
‘I don’t think I’m much good at explaining,’ said Conina, in a small voice.
‘I am,’ said Nijel, firmly. ‘I’m always having to explain.’
The scattered particles of what had been Rincewind’s mind pulled themselves together and drifted up through the layers of dark unconsciousness like a three-day corpse rising to the surface.
It probed its most recent memories, in much the same way that one might scratch a fresh scab.
He could recall something about a staff, and a pain so intense that it appeared to insert a chisel between every cell in his body and hammer on it repeatedly.
He remembered the staff fleeing, dragging him after it. And then there had been that dreadful bit where Death had appeared and reached past him, and the staff had twisted and become suddenly alive and Death had said, IPSLORE THE RED, I HAVE YOU NOW.
And now there was this.
By the feel of it Rincewind was lying on sand. It was very cold.
He took the risk of seeing something horrible and opened his eyes.
The first thing he saw was his left arm and, surprisingly, his hand. It was its normal grubby self. He had expected to see a stump.
It seemed to be night-time. The beach, or whatever it was, stretched on towards a line of distant low mountains, under night sky frosted with a million white stars.
A little closer to him there was a rough line in the silvery sand. He lifted his head slightly and saw the scatter of molten droplets. They were octiron, a metal so intrinsically magical that no forge on the Disc could even warm it up.
‘Oh,’ he said. ‘We won, then.’
He flopped down again.
After a while his right hand came up automatically and patted the top of his head. Then it patted the sides of his head. Then it began to grope, with increasing urgency, in the sand around him.
Eventually it must have communicated its concern to the rest of Rincewind, because he pulled himself upright and said, ‘Oh, bugger.’
There seemed to be no hat anywhere. But he could see a small white shape lying very still in the sand a little way away and, further off -
A column of daylight.
It hummed and swayed in the air, a three-dimensional hole into somewhere else. Occasional flurries of snow blew out of it. He could see skewed images in the light, that might be buildings or landscapes warped by the weird curvature. But he couldn’t see them very clearly, because of the tall, brooding shadows that surrounded it.
The human mind is an astonishing thing. It can operate on several levels at once. And, in fact, while Rincewind had been wasting his intellect in groaning and looking for his hat, an inner part of his brain had been observing, assessing, analysing and comparing.
Now it crept up to his cerebellum, tapped it on the shoulder, thrust a message into its hand and ran for it.
The message ran something like this: I hope I find me well. The last trial of magic has been too much for the tortured fabric of reality. It has opened a hole. I am in the Dungeon Dimensions. And the things in front of me are … the Things. It has been nice knowing me.
The particular thing nearest Rincewind was at least twenty feet high. It looked like a dead horse that had been dug up after three months and then introduced to a range of new experiences, at least one of which had included an octopus.
It hadn’t noticed Rincewind. It was too busy concentrating on the light.
Rincewind crawled back to the still body of Coin and nudged it gently.
‘Are you alive?’ he said. ‘If you’re not, I’d prefer it if you didn’t answer.’
Coin rolled over and stared up at him with puzzled eyes. After a while he said, ‘I remember-’
‘Best not to,’ said Rincewind.
The boy’s hand groped vaguely in the sand beside him.
‘It isn’t here any more,’ said Rincewind, quietly. The hand stopped its searching.
Rincewind helped Coin to sit up. He looked blankly at the cold silver sand, then at the sky, then at the distant Things, and then at Rincewind.
‘I don’t know what to do,’ he said.
‘No harm in that. I’ve never known what to do,’ said Rincewind with hollow cheerfulness. ‘Been completely at a loss my whole life.’ He hesitated. ‘I think it’s called being human, or something.’
‘But I’ve always known what to do!’
Rincewind opened his mouth to say that he’d seen some of it, but changed his mind. Instead he said, ‘Chin up. Look on the bright side. It could be worse.’
Coin took another look around.
‘In what respect, exactly?’ he said, his voice a shade more normal.
Um.’
‘What is this place?’
‘It’s a sort of other dimension. The magic broke through and we went with it, I think.’
‘And those things?’
They regarded the Things.
‘I think they’re Things. They’re trying to get back through the hole,’ said Rincewind. ‘It isn’t easy. Energy levels, or something. I remember we had a lecture on them once. Er.’
Coin nodded, and reached out a thin pale hand towards Rincewind’s forehead.
‘Do you mind-?’ he began.
Rincewind shuddered at the touch. ‘Mind what?’ he said.
- if I have a look in your head?
‘Aargh.’
It’s rather a mess in here. No wonder you can’t find things.
‘Ergh.’
You ought to have a clear out.
‘Oogh.’
Ah.’
Rincewind felt the presence retreat. Coin frowned.
‘We can’t let them get through,’ he announced. ‘They have horrible powers. They’re trying to will the hole bigger, and they can do it. They’ve been waiting to break into our world for-’ he frowned -’ians?’
‘Aeons,’ said Rincewind.
Coin opened his other hand, which had been tightly clenched, and showed Rincewind the small grey pearl.
‘Do you know what this is?’ he said.
‘No. What is it?’
‘I–cant remember. But we should put it back.’
‘Okay. Just use sourcery. Blow them to bits and let’s go home.’
‘No. They live on magic. It’d only make them worse. I can’t use magic.’
‘Are you sure?’ said Rincewind.
‘I’m afraid your memory was very clear on the subject.’
‘Then what shall we do?’
‘I don’t know!’
Rincewind thought about this and then, with an air of finality, started to take off his last sock.
‘No half-bricks,’ he said, to no-one in particular. ‘Have to use sand.’
‘You’re going to attack them with a sockful of sand?’
‘No. I’m going to run away from them. The sockful of sand is for when they follow.’
People were returning to Al Khali, where the ruined tower was a smoking heap of stones. A few brave souls turned their attention to the wreckage, on the basis that there might be survivors who could be rescued or looted or both.
And, among the rubble, the following conversation might have been heard:
‘There’s something moving under here!’
‘Under that? By the two beards of Imtal, you are mishearing. It must weigh a ton.’
‘Over here, brothers!’
And then sounds of much heaving would have been heard, and then:
‘It’s a box!’
‘It could be treasure, do you think?’
‘It’s growing legs, by the Seven Moons of Nasreem!’
‘Five moons-’
‘Where’d it go? Where’d it go?’
‘Never mind about that, it’s not important. Let’s get this straight, according to the legend it was five moons-’
In Klatch they take their mythology seriously. It’s only real life they don’t believe.
The three horsepersons sensed the change as they descended through the heavy snowclouds at the Hub end of the Sto Plain. There was a sharp scent in the air.
‘Can’t you smell it?’ said Nijel, ‘I remember it when I was a boy, when you lay in bed on that first morning in winter, and you could sort of taste it in the air and-’
The clouds parted below them and there, filling the high plains country from end to end, were the herds of the Ice Giants.
They stretched for miles in every direction, and the thunder of their stampede filled the air.
The bull glaciers were in the lead, bellowing their vast creaky calls and throwing up great sheets of earth as they ploughed relentlessly forward. Behind them pressed the great mass of cows and their calves, skimming over land already ground down to the bedrock by the leaders.
They bore as much resemblance to the familiar glaciers the world thought it knew as a lion dozing in the shade bears to three hundred pounds of wickedly coordinated muscle bounding towards you with its mouth open.
‘… and … and … when you went to the window,’ Nijel’s mouth, lacking any further input from his brain, ran down.
Moving, jostling ice packed the plain, roaring forward under a great cloud of clammy steam. The ground shook as the leaders passed below, and it was obvious to the onlookers that whoever was going to stop this would need more than a couple of pounds of rock salt and a shovel.
‘Go on, then,’ said Conina, ‘explain. I think you’d better shout.
Nijel looked distractedly at the herd.
‘I think I can see some figures,’ said Creosote helpfully. ‘Look, on top of the leading … things.’
Nijel peered through the snow. There were indeed beings moving around on the backs of the glaciers. They were human, or humanoid, or at least humanish. They didn’t look very big.
That turned out to be because the glaciers themselves were very big, and Nijel wasn’t very good at perspective. As the horses flew lower over the leading glacier, a huge bull heavily crevassed and scarred by moraine, it became apparent that one reason why the Ice Giants were known as the Ice Giants was because they were, well, giants.
The other was that they were made of ice.
A figure the size of a large house was crouched at the crest of the bull, urging it to greater efforts by means of a spike on a long pole. It was craggy, in fact it was more nearly faceted, and glinted green and blue in the light; there was a thin band of silver in its snowy locks, and its eyes were tiny and black and deep set, like lumps of coal.[24]
There was a splintering crash ahead as the leading glaciers smacked into a forest. Birds rattled up in panic. Snow and splinters rained down around Nijel as he galloped on the air alongside the giant.
