yknow AI art has ruined an entire genre of painting to me, i saw one of those smooth anime-realism pieces and immidiately thought ''ugh, AI art'' until i noticed it was posted by an established deviantart user 6 years ago. like ive never been a huge fan of that genre but it looks like a pretty difficult style to master and i feel bad for the artists who specialized in anime-realism only to have their entire market jacked by people typing keywords into midjourney.

Today I remembered for no reason I can tell the absolute most air-headed bullshit ever said to me, which was the time someone told me "Oh, Mangoes are a Melon."

I shit you not. And they would not hear that no, no these are definitely not melons, the seeds work differently because, and I REMEMBER TO THIS DAY despite all the brain damage, "My parents run a catering company and they always put the mango and melon together."

My cats. Buddies. Acquaintances. Strangers. She was in her mid 20s.

She absolutely would not hear that knowing where your parents serve food doesn't make you an expert on plant taxonomy.

I'm still not over it. It has been over a decade. It's still the most ridiculous thing anyone has ever said to me with complete confidence and damn right anger that I wouldn't accept it.
