Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a spiteful response to The Coral Island by R. M. Ballantyne, a story with the same premise of several middle class English boys being stranded on an island. Where Ballantyne has the boys having "wonderful adventures" such as... saving women and children from being killed and eaten by the native Polynesians, Golding depicts the boys falling into savagery as time and isolation grows their paranoia to the point where they start killing each other. The writers have tied "negative" emotions to evil and "positive" to good when they're neither. Emotions are a body's response to stimuli, similar to goosebumps and crying. Think of it as a "check engine" light on your car's dashboard. What someone does because of their emotions can be good or bad, but emotions in and of themselves are morally neutral

Firstly, I am genuinely curious where it was confirmed Sandrone was yandere, and secondly, what kind of yandere do you think Sandrone would more likely be, and what circumstances would make her not want to turn the reader into a doll? I'm imagining a Sandrone so obsessed infatuated with the reader that she refuses to turn them into a doll due to it not being likely that even she could preserve all the things she finds so wonderful.

ah to be fair i believe it was leaks that said that so perhaps we should take it more with a grain of salt, but everyone has been saying it like it's canon so-

ALSO not sure about yandere types ngl but i think she'd be obsessive. She's enamored with everything about you and she doesn't want anything about you to change. Not a single thing. The way you feel about her, the way you react to things, she wants none of it to change.

Which is why I think she'd be so inclined to turn reader into a doll no matter what. Because over time all humans change, physically and emotionally. She doesn't want that. She doesn't want your mental state to deteriorate or your perspective of things to change. She doesn't want your golden view of her to be tarnished. So she has to turn you into a doll to keep everything about you the same.

Because she loves this doll version of you. And if you change, she'll just have to throw you out. So it's better like this, yeah?

I just think Sandrone is not at all a soft or redeemable yandere. There isn't an aspect about her you can even hope to control. She is the puppeteer, and she has perfect control of your strings.

silly thoughts but i was thinking about jack and how conflicting of a character he is to me and how stupid i feel for taking him more serious than i should given he is some funny guy coming from the kickstarter, in fact i'd say all the kickstarter characters are very not serious, nobody wanted to put some sad guy in the game, but anyway this is how my brain is

he's just some kid that doesn't know what stuff is for him and what stuff isn't and he has nobody to guide him on this, i think having a character like him living in the context of lisa is very terrible but especially by taking him to brad's journey, not only taking this kiddo to literally slaughter people and him seeing death and blood and corpses everywhere he goes (which he probably sees as normal) but also the fact that he has to be in the same team as other guys who are severely bad influences to him, like you can have him in the same team as people who were murderers even before the flash or guys who could be considered possible sex offenders like it's so messed up

i don't think him being in the game is a bad thing it's interesting as hell honestly, it's just hard to not feel bad for him, i feel like the game wanted to delve into this more and it sort of did but also backtracked? like it never wants to fully talk about this for him. that one convo touches on the subject a little bit but then it just gets cut and youre never given an answer of if jack is okay after that or not lol

also i keep thinking about how aware of this the other companions are? brad even. like dude is seen reading a porno mag and i highly doubt he stole it and was being sneaky about it, i think the other guys know he does this shit but dont stop him

i think some of them would worry but wouldn't feel like saying anything, some would be completely apathetic until they actually realize how bad this is, others would be like 'nah it's okay for his age' , others would know it's not a good thing but wouldn't care, and there'd be others who are willing to say something but don't get listened or get pushed by the meanier companions idk

also i wonder if him being a boy would have make any difference for them because there are actually many people who's opinion on the matter changes depending on the gender of the person but of couse it's bad to put a kid in these situations no matter their gender

I really admire the way you write (it’s so compelling and poetic I love it sooo much <333) and would love to learn more about how you approach writing. Do you have any tips or advice you could share with me on how to write “poetically” or how to improve my writing in general?

Writing to me works in the same way as drawing you just gotta keep doing it until you grow comfortable with what you write and find your writing style. My writing comes off as poetic because of the literary devices I throw in (mild alliteration… imagery, etc.) but when I first started I focused on getting the point across and then adding stuff to bulk up the paragraphs. The writing process is different for everyone and mine is just getting everything in my brain onto a doc and then seeing whether or not it’s postable (I usually post it anyway)

But things that help with poetic… definitely music 100% it helps set the tone and vibe of a lot of my writing
