The patriarchy is bad and evil and it sucks. But you can make it work for your benefit.
Example: I wear a fuck ton of make up to work. I'm talking heavy duty concealer to cover my dark circles, bunch of setting powder, brow pencil and gel, mascara, and inner corner highlight. Dolled the fuck up every day. I rarely go into work without makeup on because I know I look sick and tired without it.
But what about the days when I don't want to have to go into work but I must? When I feel like shit and don't wanna be there but can't call off? Simple solution: I don't wear makeup those days.
The change is instantaneous and very noticeable. People avoid bothering me and give me plenty of space. No one bugs me for small shit. It's glorious.
Am I pissed that there is a noticeable difference in how people treat me based only on my appearance? Oh absolutely! But until the system is destroyed, I'm gonna play it for my own personal gain, and you should too!

#technology is so amazing#me and tandem guy have started doing all night whatsapp calls#(i didnt even know that was possible)#and its SO intimate#bc its like you're alone in your bed but you're still together#so you can talk until you fall asleep and then you still have this ambient sound#of somebody else breathing and moving on the other end of the line#he lives next to a school and this morning i woke up to the sound of israeli children playing outside of his window#and the first thing i saw when i woke up was him reading in bed#and he just looked up and smiled when he noticed me being awake#and its so nice#its just so damn nice and sweet and careful#but today is shabbat so we're not doing it#and anyway i LIKE it#he always keeps surprising me with how much i just like him
