I think like sometimes people who don’t know all that much about english football may not truly understand what ted lasso is doing like… having show that highlights the sports and fans problems and then showing radically caring people trying to fix said problems? presenting queer people, strong women and emotional men within the sport and normalising it in a culture that has notoriously excluded those people?

I know that the majority of people that are the problem in the sport are not gonna watch the show and the accessibility of it is an issue but the fact that something is highlighting how prevalent and stupid the bigotry of english football is and how even if that changes a couple of peoples minds going into football matches it could change the sport for good makes me feel so hopeful

#like football is something I’ve always loved bc family is built around it you know?#but queer ppl and women tend to support from the sidelines and watch it on tv and then are questioned about their loyalty and interest #and it’s just like #idk #ted lasso just means so much to me as a queer woman who loves footie #but never liked football culture and felt ostracised from it at a young age #ted lasso #plum.txt

Half of people say that kids these days are too sensitive and half of them say they’re too apathetic which in itself seems like a contradiction but I feel like it’s just half of young people have had to shut down their emotions because it is so easy to learn about tragedy these days. I’ve been awake for a half hour and already I’ve learned about a teenager who was killed at his homecoming game last night, a young girl who died from cancer recently, and had a reminder of the school shooting where a bunch of kids died. It’s impossible to not be beat down by all of this and there are really only two results: becoming over sensitive to it all as everything gets piled on, or to turn it off

#sorry Im just so tired #i feel guilty for getting mad about learning about all these tragedies #but the fact is that I shouldn’t have to #there was a time when the only things you learned about were things that affected you personally #or major news like wars #you didn’t have to learn about every single tragedy that affects every single person all over the world #i saw someone on Twitter saying at least we didn’t have to live through the Cold War #and It’s just like #yeah you had to hear about Russian conspiracies and do the occasional hypothetical bomb drill #meanwhile we have actual factual knowledge of climate change and natural disasters getting worse and worse #and school shootings and wars all over the world #and kids with cancer in Kentucky and car accidents in California and homelessness in England #and our drills aren’t hypothetical they’re a very real possibility #because school shootings happen every fucking week #and It’s exhausting #and If you haven’t shut down yet it’s pretty damn tempting to #so I think being sensitive isn’t the problem these older generations think it is #because It’s pretty damn strong to not let yourself shut down after everything we have to go through

maybe it’s just me but there’s something about the way that hotch’s wife ends up treating him throughout the series that doesn’t sit right with me, like i understand she feels like they never see each other and he’s not there for jack due to work but also like you married and had a kid with him already knowing that? idk, i don’t think she’s a bad person or wife or anything like that but part of me just feels really bad for hotch i guess?
