Snails! 🐌🐌🐌 OK, story time!

So, my grandfather, a man of many talents who never really stuck to one thing for very long, had a petting farm when I was growing up. He and my step-gran had goats, geese, donkeys, sheep, pigs, etc on their small farm and they'd rent it out for kids birthday parties and weekend tea parties. Anyway, at one point in time, he decided that finding a way to keep snails alive over winter for the escargot market would be profitable (this is South Africa in the 90's, I really do not know how big the escargot market was). And of course he enlisted me, his eldest grand daughter, to be responsible for these snails. I took them outside every day to let them forage for fresh leaves, kept them hydrated, gave them names. I was very attached to those snails🤣 Unfortunately, and probably not surprisingly, they did not survive the winter and we never tried again. Although at a later date there were slugs, for entirely different reasons, completely unrelated to my grandfather.

And that is the story of the time I had snails as pets 😄 Thank you for asking about them 💜

I found your game through your post asking for feedback and engagement - I hadn't seen the game before despite only using Tumblr to keep up with IFs so I apologise that I don't know much about it other than what I read in the demo. Also I apologise if I come across as overally formal, I have never interacted online before, even anonymously.

I wanted to message and say I wasn't expecting to enjoy it (slice of life is not usually my cup of tea) but I really did. I'm surprised how much to be honest. I think the main thing that stood out for me was the little things like sharing a room with my Mabie's kuya Seb, sharing a bed and clothes with him and the little interactions between them and their friends. I'm not Filipino but I've never seen my sort of childhood represented in a game and it just, well, it made me smile so much because I cherish those memories of that closeness with my own siblings.

I also really enjoyed the insight into what I assume life was/is/can be like in the Philippines because so many games are euro-centric, usually American so I don't see other places so much- at least not in English that I can read 😅.

And last thing, (sorry for the rambling) the added details in the game, like the music and the in-text buffs etc were really fun to see and must have taken a lot of time to do. So please try not to be discouraged! What you have is impressive and thoroughly enjoyable to read and I hope you continue to enjoy writing it <3.

Slice-of-life is really weird, right? When I first started writing I didn't expect this is what I was going to end up writing. It's weirdly enjoyable reading about mundane things, and I'm glad I was able to let you relive those memories again. Your siblings sound really nice. 🙂

🧦 - as I might have mentioned, I tend to not write AUs (at most I'll write canon divergence). That said, somehow I've ended up writing a bunch of different ones - including heist AU for zukka and a fantasy AU for hq! Probably the weirdest AU I've written so far is... weird on the basis of 'why would you write this and also what is happening' - the Ayan's nightmare AU I wrote like last week. It's just kinda like, I'm not entirely sure why it came into existence sjfksjdjd but it's there! I'd love to write a soulmate goose AU at some point because I think it's absolutely hysterical. (By that I mean a goose literally pops into existence and physically pushes soulmates together. Obviously this leads to shenanigans.) I'd write it for any fandom, honestly!

🧣 - sigh okay so. As a general rule, I'll write almost anything at least once before I put a huge cross next to it, even things I might find I don't personally enjoy - it'll probably come out bad, but I'd write it! THAT SAID. I refuse to write anything about real people. Ever. It's just all sorts of icky for me. So I guess the actual answer would be 'any real people ship'!

I don't really have any "proper" trips scheduled, but then the only trips I ever take out of my own free will 😄 are 2- or 3-day trips to see concerts in other cities (because most interesting artists/groups don't come anywhere near where I live, haha). Last weekend I saw The Cure in Munich 💗 and I'm actually gonna see them again in Frankfurt later this month, haha. 😅 Other than that, nothing planned for the rest of the year.

Favourite place, oof. I've been to Cardiff in Wales twice and I loved it both times, so I hope to return there one day. I also have very fond memories of winter holidays in a small seaside town in the Netherlands. Oh and I love Berlin, too! Actually I don't really have a travel bucket list, haha. I have the vague wish to go to Seoul one day (duh) but since I hate flying (or spending tons of money at a time, haha) I'm not sure if that's gonna happen anytime soon. Tbh I'm more of a homebody than a traveller, really. 😅

I think for about past 6-7 years, I've been seeing and noticing the number 1518 constantly.
