Just some random ass au.
Like what if Danny's main language becomes ghost speak. So ghost speak is like a magic language. Meaning when using this language and putting intent into it you can do magic.
But still he can work around it since all he has to do is be super casual about every word he says. So it wasn't a problem
Until it comes to light that anything Danny writes becomes a magic spell, because he's in all of his half dead glory and is now a native to the language . Since Danny is writing and has an intent. Like pass this as a good essay for his class.
So like every school assignment becomes a mini magic scroll. Which every one of them is either luck magic or whatever things he had to write. Like he had to write about marine biology. And ended up with a paper that spews out water.
Even computers don't help. Since technically unknowingly he's still writing it in ghost speak just romanized. So it's a little bit better but still.
Anyway. This becomes a huge problem when a new nobody rogue tries to use his school assignments bunched together with staples as a magic tome.
In other news , when the bats finally get the powerful magic tome the new unknown was using they are faced with subfar school assignments. Like graded. The mini tsunami spell is a paper on ocean currents.
Well at least it's super easy to find the maker of the tome.

Daily Writing Challenge 2022 Intro/Catch-up
DWC 2021 Masterlist @daily-writing-challenge
Tumblr media
Dicenne Amberlight Blacksmith, Escort, Performer with Succulent Tart @dicenne
Last year Dicenne retired as Ringmaster of Succulent Tart and has been enjoying his extra free time, but he still performs with them on a regular basis! It’s been an interesting but much needed change given that he had spent a decade in some form of leadership role for the troupe.
At the beginning of Shadowlands, he spent some time on @talonoa and @inistellan’s mercenary crew since most of his life was spent in the military and he felt he needed to do his part. He has since returned to his blacksmith shop in Ratchet, Amberlight Smithing, with the occasional trip to Oribos to offer his services for repairs - which he still continues to this day.

Tristenne ‘Red’ Darkmorn Master Gunner of the Lady Lillium, Body Modification Artist @tristennedarkmorn
The crew of the Lady Lillium (including @felonous and @themagictrick) has gone mercenary and offered their services all over, with their last stop being Korthia in the Maw. Being able to communicate and help the dead his entire life thanks to the ‘Darkmorn gift’, the Shadowlands has been an interesting experience for Red, and his newly found nephew, @taricdarkmorn.
They have returned home for now, with plans on going back since the fight there is far from finished. Until then, he’s keeping himself busy by offering his body modification services which include tattooing, piercing, and various forms of branding. He even hosted his first Body Modification Faire back in November!

Xylaes Qin’oril Host for The Red Moon, Mercenary @xylaes
Ex-special forces in the military, Xylaes was named a war criminal and sent to prison for a decade for a crime that probably should have given him a death sentence. There’s a lot of rumors swirling around about what actually happened, but it’s classified information. Either way, something doesn’t add up. He lost his Kaldorei wife at that time, and their young son was taken in by her parents.
Joining Talon & Stellan’s mercenary crew, the Shadowlands presented him with the slim chance of seeking out his late wife, Callia, who was found in Maldraxxus. The two had a lot of unfinished business and he thought in finding her that perhaps he could get some closure in his life and be able to move on. Things don’t always turn out as planned as you can read in this storyline --> Here!
While he’s been able to form some sort of relationship with his son, reuniting with his wife and being able to visit her so easily and freely has done a number on other ‘relationships’ in his life. Notably with @fio-renze, whom he had been growing very close to prior to the Shadowlands.

Pollux Hale Special Forces in the Horde Military, Prosthetist @polluxhale
Pollux is military for life, and most of his time is spent off fighting in whatever current war is happening. He lost his right leg and arm in service and didn’t like what the prosthetists had to offer, so he learned how to do it himself and has since provided his services to fellow military in need.
The Shadowlands campaign brought him all over the Afterlives. He tends to follow the ‘main action’ since he is a part of the Special Forces and often times one of the first ones sent into the fray. For now, he’s on leave and home in Silvermoon, spending as much time as he can with his lovely girlfriend, @kharrisdawndancer, and his son @aerdendios.

Vixannya Ana’diel / Vixxy Rose Painter, Art Gallery Owner, Performer with Succulent Tart @vixannya
Annya owns an art gallery in Dalaran, where she hosts various exhibitions throughout the year, two or three of them being her own work. She is most known for her macabre portraits, where she paints famous deaths or premonitions of death, which more often than not turn out to be accurate. She has also dabbled in burlesque, recently joining Succulent Tart and using the stage name ‘Vixxy Rose’.
She’s been preparing for her next exhibition opening in February: ‘Hedonismia’. Each portrait in this showing will depict the subject’s own personal definition of hedonism.

Talonoa Dal’shula Mercenary @talonoa
Talon has been mostly keeping quiet and living the retired dream with @themadamelioness. He struck a deal with @gaebral years ago and has slowly been...changing. It’s impossible to pinpoint exactly what’s been happening to him, but if he had to guess he’s been slowly turning into some bizarre amalgamation of living and undead. He’s not entirely sure where this will lead, but for now he’s reaping the benefits of never having to eat, drink, or sleep - unless he wants to.
Occasionally, he will be coaxed out of hiding to gather his team of mercenaries, made up of fellow retired Argents and others he’s crossed paths with along the way. Prior to the Shadowlands opening, he teamed up with @inistellan and many others to go take on the Scourge at the Crossroads and then at the gates of Orgrimmar. From there, they spent some time within the Shadowlands themselves, helping wherever they were most needed.

Rhys Goodwin Farmhand, Crewmember of Succulent Tart @rhysgoodwin
Rhys grew up an orphan in Stormwind City and was never adopted; once aged out of the system, he was placed with a family in Westfall as a farmhand. He’s bounced around a couple different families, but is now working for a nice couple in Elwynn Forest where the wife and her friends have taken a particular shine to him. Doesn’t help that he looks very nice with no shirt.
He does work as a crewmember for Succulent Tart, usually bartending, although it has been some time since he’s been able to attend an event! He keeps to himself mostly, it’s the easiest way to avoid being poked fun at for not being the sharpest tool in the shed.

Dajjalen Tal’dieb Demon Hunter, Mercenary @dajjalen
Like many other demon hunters, Dajjalen has had a difficult time finding his purpose now that the Legion is gone (for now). He’s teamed up with some of his fellow demon hunters to form a rather deadly mercenary team and rarely spends any time doing anything else.
If their leave schedules align, he will spend time with his roommate @aerdendios, who, at this point, is probably his only non-demon hunter friend.

Please introduce your chosen subject area. What interests you as potential starting points or areas of research? What influenced this choice?
I have chosen to explore the aspects of horror and the uncanny in mundane objects and urban environments. I will be examining hydrocarbon-based materials such as single-use plastics, bringing in their relationship to aspects of uncontrolled nature that slot in around the edge of cities, such as vermin, ‘roadkill’ and fungi. I want to explore the way that these objects act as sites where the veil of the anthropocene over the nonhuman world is at its thinnest, or its most absurd.
Plastic is perhaps the most commonly accepted receptor of the label ‘inanimate’. It is seen by most humans as the furthest thing possible from a living creature. It performs none of the functions necessary for life (movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion or nutrition), and to call it ‘dead’ would seem questionable. However, it is not as far removed from live matter as we often assume. The plastics we often discard so easily have their origins in prehistory; they are formed from the bodies of microscopic diatoms, zooplankton and algae - organisms that were clearly once alive, millions of years ago. I am fascinated by the way that this indicates the existence of a cutoff point between things defined as ‘dead’ and things defined as ‘inanimate’. There is also a sick cyclicality in the way plastic directly harms living creatures today - when plastic is viewed as an amalgamation of bodies, it appears that living organisms are being killed by their own distant ancestors.
I intend to approach this project by examining the origins of the materials used to form plastics and the afterlives of these manufactured products once they have served their intended purpose. I have recently been studying and drawing the forms of the microorganisms that make up crude oil, and am planning to research more into the carbon cycle and its chemical processes. I would also like to expand my research into the prehistoric lifeforms that once inhabited the area of London, to better understand the area’s past.

Zooplankton (above); my drawing ‘Ectoplastic’ abstracting the forms of prehistoric organisms and plastic (below)
I am fascinated by the profound effect that humanity has had on our environment. I have recently been reading about the Anthropocene, the proposed new epoch we currently reside in, defined by the impacts of human innovation on the chemical makeup of our planet and atmosphere. My interest in these subjects stems from my anxiety about climate disaster and my belief in the spiritual significance of the mundane. I have long believed that nothing is truly boring, and with my artworks I aim to expose the intricate and perhaps dark underbellies of things we take for granted. Plastics, especially small pieces of trash, are a perfect example of this - they lie innocuously in our everyday fields of vision as sites of quiet horror.
I am interested in exploring the human impact on the environment on a microcosmic scale; the ways in which the Anthropocene’s warping of physical space manifests in urban environments. I am fixated on the idea that humans’ tampering with natural cycles results in hauntings - that our manipulation of our environment through the synthesisation of substances and natural phenomena creates ‘physical ghosts’. They are given neither the status of ‘alive’ or ‘dead’, despite having very real effects on their surroundings and outlasting the humans who create and use them. They haunt our daily lives as paradoxes - both seen and not-seen, inanimate and impactful, purposeful and waste.
On a personal level, I want this project to act as a remedy against complacency. Subjects such as chaotic epochs, climate disaster and mass extinction, as well as attempting to understand the scale of prehistory, are so broad that they can become difficult to hold in your head. This difficulty can threaten to slide into either nihilism or desensitisation, both of which I am trying to escape. Sometimes something small and unsettling can have a greater emotional impact than a vast looming threat; it is easier for the human brain to digest and view in relation to itself. Therefore I currently envision the pieces I am going to make as more subtly unsettling than aiming for existential horror; however, I want to influence the audience to view ‘inanimate’ matter as worthy of respect.

multiples of five for that character development thing
character development. ¬ accepting.@rebelpuff
Tumblr media
005. Are they in good health?his disability aside, generally yes. Clint is at peak physical condition for a man his age and built, even with the occasional fastfood splurge and a beer or two to go with it. he neither smokes, nor drinks excessively, he exercises daily for several hours, and unlike canon likes to sell us, he does eat healthy and regularly actually. otherwise he wouldn’t be able to do what he does. granted, he could kick the coffee drinking habit a little, but as long as that’s the only vice
010. Do they believe in love at first sight?no. he believes in attraction at first sight naturally, but love is something that develops over time, and in his case even rarely. Clint also happens to believe that once you love someone you never really stop again, which makes it impossible for him to say goodbye to past relationships for good, always keeping in touch with exes who truly meant something to him.
015. Are they most likely to fight with their fists or their tongue?both, generally. it depends on the person he’s fighting. he’d rarely go against someone he cares for or considers a friend with his fists, but he won’t ever shy away from verbal confrontation when he feels he’s been wronged in some way. considering his “job” however, Clint naturally also knows how to throw a punch and has been known to do that without warning, too. also, don’t be fooled by him using range weapons primarily. he can mop the floor with pretty much anybody in a melee fight just as easily.
020. What are their hobbies?he doesn’t really have any. sleeping in, if that can be considered a hobby. he enjoys being sociable too, making friends easily, and hanging out. Clint has a fundamental problem with loneliness, and is all too happy to force his presence on others if he has to. other than that his days are mostly training, training some more, eating a whole lot, and sleeping.
025. What do they consider beautiful in others personality-wise?honesty, a good, solid sense of humor, and a no-shit attitude. someone who is unapologetically themselves is a person Clint is entirely drawn to, and will very quickly feel very smitten about. a person’s insecurities only count as part of the package for him, and if emotional honesty is displayed Clint is heart-eyes in an instant.
030. Do they believe in the afterlife?he’s seen so many varying versions of afterlives, ranging from parallel universes to bleak, plain nothing that he’s not sure what to believe in anymore. he believes there is something following death but what it is exactly, he cannot say. it seems to vary and differ, depend on the way of how you die, where, when, thanks to whom etc. what he, by now, does definitely believe however is that death doesn’t necessarily have to be final.
Tumblr media
035. What is the most important rule your character lives by?treat others the way you want to be treated. Clint is entirely honest and direct in his approach of other people, and he expects to be treated the same way. he’s fully aware that that expectation won’t be met 99% of the time, especially not in his field of work, but that doesn’t change his own personal approach. he thus can seem a little rough around the edges for the softer souls of the world, but in truth he’s a softie with a heart of gold.
040. What is their obsession?keeping up. Clint is terrified of the notion of slacking and falling behind, and not being able to keep up with his superpowered friends is his worst nightmare. he will train until he vomits, eight, ten hours a day, always reaching the next level, amping up his personal maximum. he pushes himself far beyond his own limits, because if he fails, he’ll not be good enough for his team. if he can’t keep up, after all           he’s just another guy with a bow and arrow.
045. Does your character have any chronic medical conditions?he is deaf in both ears after excessive trauma to the head and his ear canals as a child. considering that he’s had a few years to adjust however, he handles his disability exceptionally well, to a point where most people who don’t know him won’t ever know he can’t hear.
050. How does your character feel about their own mortality?it doesn’t scare him as much as he thinks it should. with the universe getting increasingly fucked up and a billion new possibilities popping up of what happens after death and if death, after all, may only be temporary, Clint has almost happily accepted his own mortality. he’s always been more or less reckless with his own life anyways, throwing himself into situations that other people might consider suicidal. Clint doesn’t want to die, however. he simply believes that if he did, he’d want it to be for a good reason.
055. Is your character an introvert or an extrovert?an extrovert as they come. solitude and silence freak him out, so he constantly seeks company, and charges best when he’s around other people. he doesn’t necessarily have to be the center of attention at all, but he needs people around himself to feel fully comfortable, no matter if it’s a party, a chill evening watching TV, or just a busy café during rush hour.
060. What is your character’s attitude toward education and learning?considering that Clint dropped out of school and joined the carny instead, I’m tempted to say he doesn’t care much. he admires people who are obviously brilliant and smarter than him, but it’s not a kind of achievement he believes people ultimately need to be happy or successful in life. he does however believe that one never stops to learn, and that life is the best teacher there is. school is a necessity along the way, so long as a person develops the right kind of street-smarts to make it through life.
Tumblr media
065. Is your character better at leading or following? Which do they prefer?he’s equally good at both, actually. truth be told, he had to learn how to follow, simply because the majority of authority figures he’s ever encountered in his life were ridiculous airheads, and Clint’s entire nature screams for confrontation, but once he meets a person that truly impresses him, he is all too happy to follow. Nick Fury and Steve Rogers would be prime examples of such a person. he loves the independence of being a leader, but at the same time hates the responsibility that comes with it.
070. What about your character is cowardly?the side responsible for maintaining romantic relationships. sooner or later Clint will get cold feet and start finding excuses as to why a relationship cannot work, sabotaging himself in the process. it’s not a conscious thing, his mind just naturally seems to pour more disaster energy into his actions until his partner eventually has had enough and ends it.
075. Is your character ticklish?generally yes, but he’s one of those people who can focus so well, he can ignore being tickled. unless you try tickling his feet. expect a solid kick to the face then, though.
080. How easy is it for others to read your character’s emotions?very easy, since he barely bothers to hide them. Clint is an open book when it comes to his emotions, and he sees no reason to change that. even if he tried, he’s not very good at hiding how he feels, proving himself to be a pretty terrible liar most of the time.
085. Describe your character in three words.loyal. honest. forgiving.
090. How bodily expressive is your character?it varies and ranges on the topic of conversation and the overall mood of the day. Clint can talk with hands and feet, but can also stand still with his arms folded through entire conversations. there’s no clear set frequency to his physical expressions.
095. Name three things most would not expect your character to be able to do.a full english breakfast. recite pi to the 30th digit. throw the shield with equal precision as Steve.
100. Does your character dream? If so, what do they dream about?he does, and his dreams are entirely random. few are based on any real life occurrences however, at least not as far as Clint can recall. he tends to forget his dreams immediately when he wakes up, but they can range from something weird happening in line at starbucks to him being chased or failing or facing an alien invasion without any pants on.
