How was Jaskier supposed to know that the lovely woman he spent the night with had a husband? Let alone a husband in a big scary poacher gang? So Jaskier is hauling ass through the forest, only to get his leg caught in a beartrap. He faceplants (very daintily, prettily, and most certainly not with an embarrassing wail, thank you very much) and begins sobbing with the pain. Not to mention his cheap lute breaking into splinters. Great. Just great. What a LOVELY day he's having! A pure white werewolf with bright golden eyes suddenly prowls out of the bushes, growling at him, and Jaskier decides that today really is his worst day. No matter how majestic the beast is, this is cearly the end of Jaskier the bard. He sobs and begs to live, apologizing profusely, and the last thing he sees is the monstrous snout getting closer. Geralt, the werewolf, is stalking for food for his pack, only to come across one of those humans in their own traps. Except... This human isn't one of them. He's wearing brightly colored delicate clothing, and wasn't familiar with where their traps were. It's an innocent human. One that smells very nice, under all the stench of blood and fear. Wolf!Geralt creeps closer, and pries open the trap, intending on releasing the human back into the wild, but it just kind of stares at him in horror before passing out. Hm. Well, it appears it needs more care than he initially thought. So imagine the other witcher's surprise when he doesn't bring food back to the pack, but instead brings a human to patch up. The moon dips out of the sky, they all turn back into their witcher-human forms, and now they're all SCRAMBLING over what they're meant to do!? HOW DO YOU CARE FOR A HUMAN AGAIN??? FUCK- I DON'T KNOW! Geralt stop petting him, he doesn't like that, he's human, not a wolf! What do you mean he likes it? Oh shit- EVERYONE QUICK PET HIM! How powerful is Vocx compared to Vox? Is either more powerful than the other? How differently is the Voxtech run and what's their reputation like in Hell?

Vocx is more powerful by far. I picture vox as one of those people who smiles on the surface but attempting to teach him anything makes him resent the fuck out of you. Vocx doesn’t have that problem. He’s got pride but he’s got no problem putting away to learn from his betters. So he both has more tricks just from the other overlords and more social connections and powerful friends. Letting other people teach you things is a sure fire way to make friends. People, no matter how awful, all like feeling smart and helping.

Plus I’m kinda yanking the Yrz method of contracting and having Vocx be one of the fairest overlords to work for (except without yrzs moral objections to literally owning people lol. When in rome etc). He treats it like an actual job, with performance reviews and everything. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so being one of Vocxs people is considered pretty desirable. The grunts in the company don’t get contracts but above a certain level, being promoted means being contracted to Vocx.

it's just like. okay. when i say i like men in a gay way and women in a lesbian way i don't mean that i think straight attraction is icky or my attraction is somehow more enlightened and progressive. i mean that I've spent the formative years of my sexuality in a place with my gender presentation where people are equally as likely to see me as a man or a woman and often seem to think of me as both, and i cannot separate both my attraction to men or to women from that. ive always felt drawn to butchness because its this concept that your love for the same gender shapes your gender presentation and vice versa, but it's specific to womanhood and attraction to women as a woman in a way i can't entirely relate to. like, in many ways i am both a man and a woman, and i am attracted to both men and woman in a way both shaped by and reflected by that fact.

having stripper izzy thoughts... he has a pair of regulars who like to book a room and request him for a private show. the leather daddy looking one (ed, he's learned) always settles back against booth first, one leg extended to rest on the bench and the other bent at the knee, foot planted firmly on the floor. the colorful polished one (stede) follows and sits in his lap, getting the perfect view of izzy while his boyfriend (at least izzy assumes ed's his boyfriend at this point, they've made this a bit of a habit) gets the perfect view of him

it's not that unusual for izzy to perform for a couple, though more often he's requested for groups (friends, coworkers, strangers, sometimes he can't tell). mostly he prefers it that way - all the more satisfying when he can make everyone in the room feel like they have a personal connection with him. that's the name of the game right, to make them want and feel wanted?

but this couple... they're different in a way that pulls at izzy's gut and makes him ache. stede watches izzy with devotion and izzy's learned what makes him bite his lip, what makes his eyes flutter, and how to get his head to tilt just so. his gaze is intoxicating, full of open adoration izzy wants to drown in

while stede watches izzy, ed mostly watches stede. sometimes he's leaned in close to stede's ear, whispering words izzy can never quite make out. what he can make out are stede's reactions, expressions unrestrained and on full display for both of them. sometimes ed leans back against the wall, one hand or the other resting on stede's thigh or hip or lower back. one time izzy notices them hold hands, fingers laced together, and it makes something else in him ache. other times ed actually does watch izzy, with his chin resting on stede's shoulder and something deep, something hungry in his eyes consuming as much of him as they can

if stede's gaze is the thing he wants to drown in ed's is the thing he wants to pull him under

i think its really lame that so many ppl on here have tightened the borders of what they consider radical feminism & who they consider radical feminists lately. like if u dont do everything just right the way /i/ believe is the truly radical way then you have no claim on the label and the label is of course the most important thing for some reason. and i will pretend like this has always been the way the label has been used, i will pretend that andrea dworkin was never a radical feminist and no-one (except fools not as englightened as i am) ever considered her to be. and if you do not meet the standard, you aren't part of my movement.

i understand that defining your branch of politics is important for finding likeminded women with common goals, to communicate what you believe in, and so you can work together on practical action to achieve those goals.

it's just. hm. its been a long time since ive considered myself a radical feminist, or even necessarily a feminist at all. ive spoken plenty abt why that is but safe 2 say i still desire the liberation of women no matter what words i call myself. but ive still always been happy to lump myself in w radfems in many ways, discuss ways forward with self-defined radfems, go to radfem events, attend radfem meetups. but lately ive begun to think, huh, i guess if i don't define myself that way i shouldn't b like. tagging along as though i belong there. which is a crazy fucking shame bc the whole reason i don't really consider myself a feminist is due to lack of action - that means i WOULD like to go to more feminist events & groups and find ways to take action! and i know that while /i/ believe feminism doesn't have to be radical to address female sex-based issues, female healthcare, porn, prostitution, male violence, etc, im well aware that if i were to attend plain ol' 'feminist' events, im going to hear a lot of shit i actually consider very very ANTI-feminist. so obviously it makes sense 2 me to go to radfem spaces instead. and if i feel like im not gna be welcome in those, then.. well, i just won't go to any, or do any sort of feminist activism at all. which isn't what i want. i want to do things! i want to help! the cause matters to me! but if mainstream feminism says "you're too radical and you're not welcome here" and radical feminism says "you're not radical enough and you're not welcome here" then. i'm not the only one on a borderline here. a lot of women who would like to be feminists are going to get left behind and end up doing nothing. don't you think that's a shame? don't you think that's a loss?

What you have to understand about Blue Eye Samurai is that it's about a beautiful woman constantly covered in blood. It's about revenge and bloodlust and being consumed by your goal and how people's bigotry can shape how you view yourself and how there are self-inflicted fates worse than death and how fucked up life was in the past but also most importantly it's about how Mizu is the best character ever who deserves to kill whoever she wants forever and ever and I support woman's wrongs. Rip to SOME MEN but if a woman bested me in combat and told me she was on a mission to kill the four men who could possibly be her father I would simply support her.

and vegas still has all the knowledge of the workings of the minor family (and knowing him, most of the main family too) he knows where the bodies are buried, knows the "dirty dealings" assigned to the subsidiary branch, he has relationships with their connections, suppliers, etc etc

neither he nor pete are likely to go looking for regular 9-5 jobs anyway? vegas's skillset is crime boss and pete's is fighting/bodyguarding, what else are they gonna do? they're not exactly homebodies

you really think korn is gonna pay for them to just relocate and idk start a b&b somewhere?

they are just as stuck in the mafia life as many people are lamenting that porsche now is; as keeps being reiterated throughout the show: it's a life you don't get to just "quit" one day

when vegas says he has "nothing left" he means of his personal goals, his chance to win his father's love/respect, the things he wanted to achieve to impress him, not that he's absolved of any connections to his own family. when pete quits, he knows he's not leaving the mafia world behind, he's just declaring his allegiance has changed: vegas is his priority

and even if they do separate from the family for bit - as unlikely as i think that is - we know enough of vegas's personality that the chances of him just letting korn get away with killing his father without any kind of revenge plan are incredibly miniscule

like never mind that if they continue to stick with the general arc of the novel, vegas and pete will be right there in the thick of it, it's just bizarre to think of them as ever "getting away" from the mafia life without, as kinn once suggested to porsche, faking their deaths or running away and leaving the country
