paddock love (ln4)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。°✩⋆。
y/n watched with a grin as charles spun her sister alexandra around in a clumsy waltz, their laughter echoing through the posh monegasque apartment. "ugh, you two are giving me cavities," you teased, collapsing onto a plush sofa.
alexandra, cheeks flushed, swatted playfully at charles. "mind you, y/n, you could find yourself a love story in the paddock too, you know."
you scoffed. "yeah, right. like any f1 driver has time for a normal person like me."
suddenly, the apartment door swung open, revealing a grinning lando norris and carlos sainz. "speaking of normal people," lando winked at you, his blue eyes sparkling. "ready for that movie night, y/n?"
your cheeks warmed. lando had been relentlessly charming ever since you'd met at a charity gala a few weeks ago. he always seemed to find a way to compliment your outfit, your laugh, or even just the way you handled a plate of hors d'oeuvres. it was...disarming.
flashback
the air crackled with nervous energy as you nervously adjusted your borrowed gown. attending a charity gala with your sister, alexandra, a rising wag in the f1 world, was exciting, terrifying, and utterly overwhelming. just as you were about to retreat to the bathroom for the tenth time that night, alexandra materialized beside you, a triumphant grin splitting her face.
"there you are! come meet someone," she said, dragging you towards a group where charles leclerc was holding court, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"y/n, this is lando," charles announced, gesturing towards a tall, lanky figure with a mop of floppy brown hair. "lando, this is my amazing girlfriend, alexandra, and her equally amazing sister, y/n."
lando's smile was like sunshine breaking through clouds. his blue eyes crinkled at the corners as he extended a hand towards you. "amazing is definitely the word for it," he said, his voice a charming mix of british and something vaguely exotic. "it's lovely to meet you, y/n."
you felt a blush creep up your cheeks as you shook his hand. his touch sent a jolt through you, a strange combination of warmth and nervous electricity.
"likewise," you stammered, suddenly hyperaware of the borrowed dress that seemed to suddenly itch everywhere.
alexandra, ever the social butterfly, nudged you playfully. "so, y/n, tell lando about your photography!"
you, relieved for the distraction, launched into a passionate explanation of your latest project, a series capturing the hidden beauty of everyday objects. lando listened intently, his head tilted to one side, his gaze flickering between your eyes and the photos you were showing him on your phone.
"wow, this one is incredible," he said, pointing at a shot of a chipped teacup bathed in warm sunlight. "it's like you found magic in the ordinary."
you beamed. "that's exactly what i'm trying to do!"
the conversation flowed easily from there. you discovered a shared love for vintage cameras and a mutual disdain for overcooked canapés. lando, it turned out, was as funny as he was charming, his quick wit leaving you breathless with laughter.
as the night wore on, alexandra and charles discreetly wandered off, leaving you and lando deep in conversation about the perfect lighting for capturing a raindrop mid-fall.
"so," lando said finally, a playful glint in his eyes, "i hear you're a bit of a photography whiz. maybe you could give me some pointers on capturing the perfect pit stop action shot sometime?"
"me? at a race track?" you couldn't help but laugh. the world of formula one seemed about as far removed from your quiet life as possible.
"why not?" lando shrugged, his grin widening. "besides, charles tells me you make a mean cup of tea. maybe a post-race debriefing is in order?"
the invitation hung in the air, a silent dare. you hesitated, then a slow smile spread across your face.
"alright, lando norris," you said, a playful challenge in your voice. "challenge accepted."
flashback ended
"uh, yeah, sure," you stammered, gathering your things. "see you guys later."
alexandra leaned in conspiratorially. "have fun! and y/n?"
you raised an eyebrow.
"don't be afraid to give him a chance. he might surprise you."
the movie night was...something. lando insisted on a ridiculous rom-com, complete with over-the-top declarations of love and pratfalls that had you snorting with laughter. halfway through, he paused the movie, leaning close.
"you have the most incredible laugh," he murmured, his voice sending shivers down your spine.
your cheeks burned. "thanks," you mumbled, looking away.
he chuckled. "is it just the movie, or are you actually starting to blush around me, y/n?"
you swatted him playfully. "maybe a little. but don't get any ideas, lando norizz."
he grinned, unfazed. "ideas are kind of my specialty. so, here's one: how about we ditch this cheesy movie and grab some gelato? my treat, of course."
you hesitated. this was ridiculous. lando norris was a formula one driver, a celebrity living in a world of fast cars and glamorous parties. what did he want with a regular girl like you?
but his smile was so genuine, his eyes so warm, that something inside you melted. "alright," you agreed, a shy smile creeping onto your face.
the gelato shop was a whirlwind of laughter and stolen glances. lando teased you about your ridiculous cone of every flavor imaginable, then pretended to steal a lick. you chased him around the shop, ending up breathless and giggly.
as you walked back to the apartment, the moon casting a silvery glow on the streets, a comfortable silence settled between you. lando stopped, turning to face you.
"you know," he said softly. "you're more fun than any trophy i've ever won."
your heart skipped a beat. he cupped your face gently, his thumb brushing away a stray tear that had escaped your eye. "maybe alexandra was right," he whispered, his lips hovering tantalizingly close.
before you could even think about it, you closed the gap, meeting his kiss halfway. it was soft, playful, filled with the promise of something more.
when you finally pulled away, breathless and exhilarated, lando grinned.
"so," he said, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "does this mean there's a chance for a "normal guy" like me?"
you couldn't help but laugh. "maybe," you teased. "but only if you promise to keep surprising me."
he leaned in again, his voice a husky murmur. "consider it a done deal."
and under the watchful gaze of the moon, a new love story bloomed, a testament to the fact that sometimes, the most extraordinary things can happen with the most ordinary people.

When Y/N saw the Instagram notification, curiosity got the better of her. Just curiosity. She and Charles had been dating for almost six months, and this was the girl he had been with before her, so she simply wanted to know who she was. She scrolled through her posts, seeing the life she had after breaking up with Charles; she worked at a museum in Monaco and at the same time was an influencer.
Looking at her photos, she realized she was very beautiful. Very, very beautiful. Her hair was healthy, long, and a gorgeous dark brown, her body was perfect, the clothes fit her great, and she had a very sweet voice. She wondered why Charles had ended things with Alexandra.
Then, as she scrolled through her highlighted stories, she accidentally liked one. Y/N immediately threw her phone down. "Shit," she said, grimacing. "Shit, shit, shit." She picked up the phone again and saw the red heart on a photo of Alexandra in a bikini with a beautiful sunset in the background. Y/N stared at the photo for a moment and then removed the like.
She ran her hands over her face, feeling like an idiot. Alexandra would still see the notification, then she would see that Y/N had removed the like, and she would probably think she was weird. Or worse, she could message Charles, asking what his girlfriend was doing stalking her profile.
Charles was at the Grand Prix of Canada at that moment, she was in Monaco. The time difference was huge, and she wasn't going to bother him with this nonsense. So she decided to message Alexandra directly.
Tumblr media
Y/N couldn't stop thinking about Alexandra for the rest of the day. She found herself a couple of times staring at her pictures, she knew that Alex lived in Monaco and that they could bump into each other anytime. That idea felt amazing. She seemed like a gorgeous person, and the little chit chat they had felt really comfortable, even when Alex was her boyfriend's ex.
Y/N didn't mention any of this to Charles, he probably just make a big deal of it and they would have a discussion. And she was too lazy to think about arguments.
So she wrote a song. For the nexts days she focused on the lyrics and when Y/N handed the papers to her producer, they loved it. As soon as they could they recorded the song.
When Charles came back from the race, he found Y/N staying after midnight in the studio so she could finish the song. And he didn't complaint, because he really thought the song was about him.

She didn't even think it was a bad idea until she saw her. They had decided to meet at a private club in Monaco; Alex wore a black satin dress that fit her extremely well, with her hair loose as she had seen so often in photos and a sparkling gaze. Y/N felt stupid for only wearing a white top and jeans.
"You showed up," Alexandra said with a smirk.
"You thought I wouldn't come?" she asked, matching her expression. Alexandra lowered her head, saying nothing and tucking her hair behind her ear. Y/N went to the bar and ordered a round of shots, although she didn't need to get drunk to do what she was about to do.
She drank one and then watched as Alexandra imitated her.
"Where did you leave Charles?" Alexandra asked, pulling her to a sofa area. The club wasn't very crowded, but more people would start arriving soon.
Y/N clicked her tongue. "Charles is the last person I want to talk about right now, honestly."
"You're right," Alexandra agreed as she nodded. "Let's talk about the song, then."
Y/N looked at her with a silly smile, trying very hard not to feel embarrassed. Although she knew she had nothing to be embarrassed about, she could see from Alex's expression that she had liked the song.
"What did you think?" she asked, sipping her cocktail.
"I loved it. I never thought someone would write songs about me," she lowered her gaze a little and then Y/N noticed how she had the tip of her heel circling around her foot.
"Did Charles ever dedicate any of his piano songs to you?" Y/N asked, furrowing her brow a little.
"Charles never even dedicated time to me," Alexandra looked away a bit.
Y/N nodded, perfectly understanding what Alexandra was talking about. Charles was too focused on his career, and unless you asked him, he could completely ignore you for weeks or change plans you had been planning for months because he had to train. That was the kind of person Charles was. At first, it had been a dream, accompanying him to his races and spending time with him, but when you scheduled a tour to be able to attend most of his races and he didn't show up at almost any of your concerts… It affected you.
"Men," Y/N said simply, rolling her eyes.
"Exactly! They're unbelievable, in the worst sense of the word," Alex spoke, slightly laughing.
They fell silent for a few moments, not breaking eye contact. The music had been turned up, and they were bathed in purple and green lights, moving around the room. Alexandra almost glowed for Y/N's eyes; under that lighting, everything seemed unreal. She leaned toward her, but didn't make the final move, wanting Alex to take that step.
Alexandra smiled mischievously and pressed their lips together. It was a calm kiss, not too long but their lips touched enough to explore them calmly, and for Y/N to remember the slight scent of red licorice from Alex's cologne.
As they separated, Alexandra got as close as possible to Y/N, resting her head on her shoulder. "Are you drunk?" Y/N questioned, fearing for a moment that it was all an act of alcohol.
"No," she denied vehemently.
Y/N didn't think much more about it, discreetly grabbed her phone to text Charles that it was best for them to end their relationship. She and Alexandra kissed a couple more times that night.

Pairing: Ewa Pajor x Léon!reader; Wolfsburg Frauen x reader
Summary: Ewa is jealous [in the same universe as 'Ray of sunshine']
Type: Fluff
Warning: use of Google translate for Spanish and Polish like usual so let me know if there's some mistakes
word count: 1653
-----------
January. The start of a new year, and with that, a little camp in Portugal before the next part of the season. Today's training was really good, and now you could just rest until your friendly game against Hoffenheim the next day.
The team was split into some small groups but was rather close to each other.
"She's staring again." Sveindis commented and gained the attention of the few girls around her. The little group composed of Jule, Obi, and Lynn looked at where the Icelandic players pointed out Ewa, who seemed to be in an intense eye contest against the back of your head.
"She's been doing it a lot since the start of the season." Jule said.
"Do you think Y/n noticed that?" The Dutch defender asked.
"I don't know, but I find it funny." Lena said with a smile, which confused the girls around her.
"Why?" Sveindis asked.
"It's been a while since I saw her jealous like that." The defensive midfielder explained.
A few metres away from them, there was another group composed of Ewa, Alexandra, Dominique, Svenja, Kathrin, and Feli. They were chatting about something until they noticed that the Polish striker was focused on something else.
"You're staring. Again." Dom said to Ewa, a little amused by this.
"I know." Your wife replied but didn't lose her focus.
"Hey, she will not disappear when you look away; don't worry. I don't think she could take away your girl."
"I'm not worrying about anything." The comment was cold when she saw you being a little more touchy than usual.
"Okay, no. We don't start this. Not today." Alex said, standing up and placing herself in front of your wife. Ewa grumbled and wanted to protest, but was cut off. "You know what? I think we need a little tour of the city. What do you think, girls?"
"I think that is a great idea. And maybe we will not see Ewa ripped off the head of someone today." Feli agreed instantly.
Ewa really wanted to protest, but she was forced on her feet by Alex and Dom and quickly moved by them to the nearest group.
"Girls, do you want to join us for a little tour?" The tall captain asked the younger players, who exchanged some glances before accepting the offer.
When the girls were out of view, you received a text from your best friend.
Obi: taking your wife away before someone gets killed
You laughed at this and just asked her to let you know where they were going in case you wanted to join them.
"She was definitely staring." Merle said when you finally put your phone back in your pocket.
"I know, but she also knows that she doesn't have to worry about anything." You replied.
"Where's everyone?" Fenna asked when she noticed that a lot of players had already left.
"They decided to visit the city and maybe stop to eat something. We will join them later." Merle explained to the young striker.
"Vale, now tell us how you scored the goal against Arsenal last season. It was almost impossible to score from this angle." Nuria spoke this time.
You liked these two, first because they always spent all their time stuck around you, like you did with your big sister when you were younger, and also because, with Nuria now on the team, you were not the only Spanish player anymore. And you loved your teammates, but being able to speak in your native language with someone else was something special.
Something special that didn't get unnoticed by your wife. At first, she was happy to see you being a sort of big sister for the young Spanish player when she signed for Wolfsburg; she even found it cute. But with the months passing and the two girls getting more attached to you, it started to slightly make her jealous of not being your principal interest.
After a good walk, the girls decided to stop at a cafe and have a little pause. After the waiter took their commands, the whole table turned their attention to your wife, who had been pouting for a few minutes now.
"Can you stop acting like a child for a minute, please?" Feli said, making your wife pout even more.
"Come on, we all know that she will never think about anyone else except you." Lena tried to reassure her, but it seems that nothing worked, so the girls just gave up for the moment. A few minutes later, the food was served, and that's when you decided to show up with the girls.
Seeing that, Svenja decided to move some girls to give you a free seat next to the pouty player. A seat that gets quickly taken because, even in her current state, you missed your favourite girl.
Sensing that Ewa was not in a mood to be teased, you just distracted yourself by talking with the girls while you intertwined your little finger together. The little thing seemed to enlighten her mood a little, but not as much to make her openly happy about it.
After that, you all walked back to the hotel, where you sneaked out of the team with the striker to your room. It was one of the advantages to be a married couple, always sharing a room at every camp or game away.
In the room, you dragged her on the bed despite her protest and made her lay next to you. You stayed like this for a moment without saying anything, just staring at each other and sometimes smiling like idiots.
"So, will you tell me what's that about?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know what you mean." She replied with a shy smile.
"Oh, so you're telling me you were not jealous?"
"Me, jealous? Come on, I have never been jealous."
The lie almost made you laugh, but you needed to keep your composure. "So you'll not be angry if I invite Merle, Nuria, and Fenna to watch a movie with us tonight?"
The mention of the names made her instantly lose her facade, and the look she was giving you meant a lot. "I think you forgot that this room is for Léon-Pajor only."
At this point, you finally laughed and showered her face with a lot of kisses.
"Seriously, kochanie (honey), I don't know why you need to spend all your time with them." Ewa said after you stopped.
"I don't spend all my time with them." You protested. "It's just that I just want to make sure they're good with their move and don't feel homesick."
"Fenna lived only a few hours of flight from Wolfsburg, and Nuria goes back to Barcelona as much as she can."
"Amor (Love), are you really being jealous of two kids right now?" You asked with a very surprised face. "I thought you were jealous of Merle, not of the kids."
"Why would I be jealous of Merle?"
"And why are you jealous of some kids?" Ewa just groaned and started to leave the room, but you stopped her before. "Hey, I'm sorry. Okay, I didn't know. Well, now that I'm aware of it, it seems more funny than I thought, but anyway."
"Can you stop making fun of me?"
"Sí, but can you just let me explain it?" When she didn't make any move to leave you again, you put her back on the bed and sat her on your lap. "Señora Ewa Léon-Pajor, amor de mi vida, no hay mujer en este mundo de la que estaría más orgullosa y feliz de llamar mía que tú. Puedes descansar en paz. Te amé, te amo, y todavía lo haré en el futuro. (Mrs. Ewa Léon-Pajor, love of my life, there's no woman in this world that I would be more proud of and happy to call you mine than you. You can rest peacefully. I loved you, I love you, and I will still do so in the future.)"
From your tone and your expression, Ewa knew you said something important but couldn't understand everything.
"I'm sorry, but I don't understand everything." She admitted shyly making you laugh a little.
"I said that you don't have to worry about anything because I love you, and I will still do it in the future." You briefly explained.
You saw her eyes start to get filled with tears, but her expression reflected everything but sadness.
"Ja też cię kocham, pani Léon-Pajor (I love you too, Mrs. Léon-Pajor)"
"Did I ever tell you that I love when you speak Polish?" You asked with a mischievous smile.
"Yeah, and you also told me that you love when I speak Spanish or German." She reminded you.
"You know what? I think I just love you." You commented, making her smile.
"And I love you too," she replied before finally giving you a proper kiss. You stayed in your room for a few more hours until it was time for dinner.
You joined the team with Ewa by your side and her arm around your waist, which earned a shocking look for your teammates and a thumbs up from Lena and Dom to the striker.
After you got your plate, you made your way to where Merle was seated, but you were stopped by your wife, who gave you a quick kiss on the cheek before going to sit with her previous group.
"I don't know what we did to deserve to see Ewa showing PDA in front of us, but I think we have to thank her for this cute moment." Alex commented loudly and earned a lot of applause from your teammates.
You watched your wife, who was trying to hide herself, until she finally met your eyes. You just smiled and blew her a kiss, which made her blush even more and made everyone laugh.

The story of us.
Pairings: Casey Novak x Alex Cabot.
Summary: Alexandra Cabot was a nine year old that loved books, privacy and nature; the best way she could spend her time alone, was at the park reading a book. Casey Novak was a seven year old that enjoyed softball, playing around and nature; the best way she could spend her time, was at the park playing softball. Once they crossed paths, it was the beginning of their story, a kids love.
A/n: This was requested by bestie @saurgaeee, everything started with a silly cute conversation about Alex and Casey being kids and meeting, and then the rest just came up as we talked about it and we thought it would be cute to write a fic about it, so this is specially dedicated to my bestie that keeps giving me ideas and keeps me writing hehe. I hope you like this, at first I doubted so much about posting this, but I thought it turned out cute. Keep the requests coming you guys! Enjoy and leave your comments, reblogs, hearts, whatever you'd like, will be very much appreciated🫶🏻

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Age 7/Age 9.
It was summer vacation, just a week away from starting school again, and Alexandra Cabot was in her 12th book, just about to finish it. Yes, it was probably unusual for a nine year old to want to read that much and spend her whole summer reading books that not even a fifteen year old would want to read, but that was Alex’s favorite hobby. She could get lost in fantasy land, or learn something new, there was no in between, though she had to admit that her favorite ones were those cheesy fantasy books where the girl always ended up with the handsome guy; though she sometimes questioned herself why it always had to be the girl falling and had to be with a guy, not exactly a question that a nine year has in mind, but it was in Alex’s.
People could say that Alex was the loner of the school, not because of how Alex acted, but mostly because Alex didn’t feel comfortable acting like other kids did, they were messy, they were too childish for her liking, and they wanted nothing more than to play. Of course, she enjoyed playing with her dolls, she enjoyed playing tea party, she enjoyed basic kid things, but being an only child and in a house full of diplomatic people, it was hard to want to be childish.
After returning from her house in the Hamptons, she had asked for a full day of reading in the  outside world; meaning the park. She had felt like she had spent too much time surrounded by her parents, so she decided to have a small break and be able to enjoy the park and the fresh air of the summer. Not that she wasn’t excited about school, but she enjoyed quiet summer days where she could enjoy the fresh air and the sun hitting her skin while she read a book. She tried to always be in the farthest tree of the park, knowing that people wouldn’t be around, and she’d be able to peacefully read her book, just enjoy some alone time. But it seemed too good to be truth. Alex had been lost in the words of her book that she hadn’t noticed a redhead just a few feet away from her, that wasn’t until she felt something hitting her arm that made her lose her balance and fall to the side, making her whine at the impact.
“Oh no! I’m so sorry!”
Alex whined as she sat back and leaned over the tree, looking at her left side and noticing a bruise already showing up. “It’s fine.” She whispered softly.
“No, it’s not! I should be careful, dang it. Are you okay?” The redhead knelt beside Alex and placed her bat on the grass.
Alex looked up and frowned slightly, looking at the redhead girl in front of her, her heart skipping a beat. The first thing she noticed was the beautiful red hair, long and messy, a cap a bit too big but the girl didn’t seem to care. Then she noticed the green eyes, people could confuse them and think they were blue or a bit darker, but those were definitely green. And then she noticed the worry on the girls face, she noticed the girls hand trying to figure out if she should touch Alex or not.
Alex shook her head and chuckled. “Guess you’re good at baseball.” As she rubbed her arm.
“Softball, actually.” The redhead chuckled as she sat down with Alex. “I really am sorry. My mom told me to be careful and I swore I will.”
“Would.”
The redhead frowned. “What?”
“Would. That you would be careful.” Alex smiled. “Orthography.”
“Oh! Yes. Sorry. Mom says I’m still learning how to talk.” The redhead chuckled as she looked at Alex.
Alex smiled softly as she noticed her dimples, she had never seen someone with dimples, and it was cute. “I’m a bit more advanced than I should anyway. I’m only nine, but I have been told that I seem older.”
The redhead shrugged. “Looks like it. You sound like you’re a big girl.” She smiled. “But you seem nice. I’m 7, and I’m Casey.” She extended her hand for Alex to take.
Alex looked down at her hand and noticed some dirt on in and also some cuts, probably from the bat. She sighed and took her hand, preferring to be polite. “I’m Alexandra, but you can call me Alex.”
Casey nodded. “Nice to meet you, Alex.” She smiled as she let go of her hand. “Why you reading when you could be playin?”
“I don’t know. I enjoy it. I like reading.”
“My mom wished I read more. But I prefer to play.”
Alex shrugged. “Not weird for your age.”
“A bit weird for yours.” Casey chuckled. “I’m sorry about the bruise.”
“Oh, it’s nothing. It’ll go away.” Alex smiled.
“Here.” Casey looked into her pocket and got a lollipop out, handing it to Alex. “I get these whenever I go to the doctor, maybe it’s gonna make you feel better.” She smiled.
Alex looked at it and took it, smiling softly and looking back at Casey. “Thank you, Casey.”
Casey nodded as she smiled. “You welcome. Can I sit with you?”
********************
“C’mon, Alex! We just need more kids to play.”
Alex rolled her eyes again as she looked at the kids. “I said I didn’t want to play.”
“You never want to!”
“Then you already know the answer, why are you still asking?”
The boy sighed. “Why you never want to play with us?”
“I just don’t like to play tag. And you’re noisy.”
“Oh, but you get alone with Casey.” One of the girls said as she shrugged, looking at Alex.
Alex stared at her. “I actually like her, she’s nice.” She looked back at her book as she sighed. “Besides, you won’t let me finish my book, and I’m so close to-“
“Lex! We’re gonna play tag! Do you wanna play with us?” Casey appeared all of a sudden and smiled as she stood in front of Alex.
Alex stared at her for a moment, her eyes then looking at the rest of the kids who were waiting for an answer. She sighed softly as she looked back at Casey. “I guess a game won’t hurt.”
Casey jumped and looked at the kids. “Let’s start then! Tag!” She touched one of the girls and started running away.
Alex placed her book on the table and then looked back at the kids. “You better not hurt Casey.”
The kids looked at each other before they started to run. Ever since Alex met Casey, they had become pretty close, something that was a bit odd for Alex since she really didn’t have any friends, but after meeting Casey, she felt attached to her in a way she had never felt about anyone. She came to find that Casey was an extrovert while Alex was definitely an introvert, but she knew that opposites were attracted to each other, so it made sense that Casey and Alex fell into a quick friendship even if they were the whole opposite from each other. They had met at the park the whole week and then came to find out that they were in the same school, just different grades, but still had the chance to see each other at lunch -when Casey was not running around with the rest of the kids-.
She definitely didn’t like tag, not like she didn’t run or anything, because she liked to run, she liked to exercise but she didn’t really like to play any sports, but if Casey wanted to play, who was she to say no? She mostly moved to the same places, not having to run much since whenever she was touched, she quickly found a kid to tag next and that’s how it went on for a while, until Casey noticed that no one was tagging her, frowning slightly as she stood beside Alex.
“Do I have the plague or something?”
Alex turned to look at her. “What do you mean?”
“No one has tagged me. I know I can be fast but like…I’m right here?” Casey raised her brow as she looked at Alex.
Alex sighed as she looked at the kids who were fast to give them both attention as they felt Alex staring. “You’re seriously not gonna tag us?”
One of the kids looked at the rest and then back at Alex. “But- you said…”
“Follow the rules, kids! It’s tag!”
Casey laughed as she looked at Alex and then at the rest of the kids. “You guys are lame. C’mon, Ali, let’s go get some fruit before the bell rings.”
Alex looked at them and shook her head. “You wanted to play and don’t even know the rules? Like she said, you’re lame.” She went for her book and then followed Casey.

Age 8/Age 10.
Alex was leaning back on a tree with a book on her hands while Casey was practicing, another sunny and hot day of summer. Alex looked up from her book and smiled softly as she saw Casey putting the ball back in the stick she had made to hold her ball; Alex had made fun of her cause Casey had told her that she broke her last set and she was saving to buy one, so she had to get creative and grab some sticks and build something steady to be able to hold her ball as she practiced. After a little over a year of getting to know each other, they had made it a routine to meet at the park and just spend time with each other, while Alex read, and Casey practiced.
It was still fascinating to Alex how she had come to have such a good and nice friendship with someone like Casey, the age didn’t matter much, but the fact that Casey actually wanted to hang out with her, perfectly knowing the kind of kid that Alex was. She thought Casey would want to find kids like her that would want to practice with her, play in the dirt, do any other activity than reading, but Casey seemed to enjoy Alex’s company, even if she was just sitting there reading and watching her practice. Casey yelled as she finally accomplished her goal, jumping and celebrating.
“You go, Ali Cat!” Alex chuckled as she clapped.
Casey frowned, tilting her head as she walked to Alex. “Ali Cat?” She chuckled. “That’s silly, I’m not a cat, Al.”
Alex chuckled. “Well, you are like a cat, Casey. Very fierce.”
Casey rolled her eyes as she sat down beside Alex. “I don’t have any whiskers or paws, y’know?” She smiled.
Alex shrugged. “Still think you’re a cat.”
“Okay…if I’m gonna be an animal, then you’ll be one too.” Casey grinned.
Alex frowned as she grinned. “Oh, yeah? What kind of animal am I?”
Casey chuckled softly. “A bear!”
“A bear?! Do I look like a bear to you?” Alex growled like a bear then, making Casey hysterically laugh, Alex joining right after, a faint blush on her cheeks.
“You’ll be Ali Bear.” Casey laughed as she looked at Alex.
“Still funny?”
Casey shook her head. “The fact that we’re both Ali’s is kinda funny. You’re the only one that I’ll ever call me Ali or Ali Cat.”
Alex nodded. “And you’ll be the only one allowed to call me Ali Bear.”
“Sounds like a deal.” Casey bit her lip as she smiled, leaning on the tree, sitting close to Alex.
********************
Age 11/Age 13.
“Case, I’m sure you’ll make it in the team. You’ve literally been playing since I know you, and it’s been quiet some years.” Alex chuckled as they got to their spot and sat down.
Casey sighed as she placed her bag down and then sat down beside Alex. “I know, just…”I guess I’m nervous.”
Alex chuckled. “You’re overthinking it.” She smiled. “You did great, Ali Cat.” She grinned.
Casey tilted her head as she smiled. “It’s cause you were there, Ali Bear.” She chuckled.
Alex smiled softly as she looked down at her book. “You know I’ll always be your #1 fan.” She looked back at Casey with a faint blush on her cheeks.
Casey nodded as she bit her lip. “I’ll hold you to that.” She smiled. “Oh! By the way.” She opened her bag and looked inside it, getting a book out and then handing it to Alex. “I noticed the other day that you were looking at this book at the store and I remember my mom bought it for me a few weeks ago but…it’s not really my thing. So I wanted you to have it.”
Alex stared at it for a moment before grabbing it. She smiled softly and looked up at Casey, who was staring at her with that adorable smile she so loved. “Case…this is so sweet of you.”
“I just thought you’d enjoy it more than I would. It’s your thing after all.” Casey smiled softly. “And I’ll be waiting to listen to the end of it. I’d love to hear it from you other than reading it.”
Alex nodded softly as she smiled. “I’ll definitely tell you about it.” She chuckled. “Thanks, Casey.”
“You’re very welcome.” Casey smiled before she started to talk about something else.
That was the moment when Alex started to look back to all these years since she had met Casey and before that. She had always considered herself to be the loner kid who really didn’t fit in any group or fit with any other kid, but it turned out that fate had chose to put Casey in her life in the most unexpected way, and it had been her decision to help grow the friendship that they now had. She couldn’t imagine having another friend, she thought that there couldn’t be anyone better than Casey. And that’s when it hit her; it wasn’t only a friends love she felt for Casey, it was more. It was what she had read in all those fantasy books, the love they described as unique and wonderful, something unexpected and beautiful, a love that not anyone could feel. She thought it was just a fantasy, something to catch the readers attention, but now she was coming to te conclusion that she was starting to experience it. It was silly, because she was only thirteen years old and anyone would tell her that it was just a kids love, and maybe it was, but it was everything for her.
It was now crystal clear why she acted the way she did, always blushing around Casey, always trying to look over her -even if Casey was basically her same height, maybe a little taller, and she was braver than Alex was-, always the need to see Casey smile or hear her laugh, being able to spend every day with her even if it was just for a moment. Alex had a cush. She had a crush on her best friend. She had a crush on Casey Allison Novak. Was that even right? She didn’t know. Her parents had never said anything about it, and they knew Casey. The question she had in her mind years ago had made its appearance again. Why in the books they always had the girl falling for the handsome boy and not for the best friend or someone else? She knew people weren’t too open about it, she had heard a bit, but it had never crossed her mind that she could be that person, but now everything made sense.
After the new discovery, Alex tried to hide it as best as she could, she had tried to act as she always did and just keep the friendship going. She went to every practice Casey had after getting in the team, she waited for her while she read the book that Casey had given her, every now and then looking up at Casey, and at time catching Casey staring back at her. She went to every single game that Casey had, never missing one, and it had become their tradition to go for milkshakes after them. But just like every perfect story in the books, there had to be some angst to it. Casey had showed up at her house one time and told Alex the terrible news that she would be moving, and she was not sure she was coming back. It clearly broke Alex’s heart, but she made it seem like things would be okay and that they’d see each other again at some point, maybe call each other every now and then, and they’d find each other soon. It worked for the first year, until it didn’t anymore.
********************
Age 27/Age 29.
It was insane that sixteen years had passed since she had last seen Casey, it haunted Alex every single day how she was stolen from her life, and she never had a chance to see her again. Last she had heard was that Casey still played softball, and that she’d be going to college somewhere in New York, but she was not sure yet what she wanted to do, after that, in her last year of high school, they just lost contact and never spoke again. The calls had worked for a while, Alex had even been willing to visit Casey, but school and extra classes wouldn’t let her, just like Casey being involved in softball barely gave her any time to socialize or do anything else in her life. Alex thought maybe that’s why they lost contact, their lives had become so busy, it wasn’t like they were kids anymore, they had responsibilities and sometimes life worked that way, people come and go just like that, and sometimes there is nothing else they could do about it. As unfair as it sounded, Alex was a realistic person, and she knew better than to pretend that she could’ve avoided what happened between them. And even if she never saw Casey again, that crush had never vanished, she thought every single day about Casey that it was painful. But they were just kids, how could she go to Casey and tell her that she had a crush on her when Casey was focused on softball and she was 2 years younger than Alex, it felt so wrong, but she couldn’t have helped it.
She tried to move on the best she could, she tried to focus on her career, she tried to focus on her future, because the more she looked into the past and what could’ve been if things were different, the more she felt sad and it drained her at some point, it haunted her dreams, it haunted her mind whenever she got nothing better to do and that’s why she preferred to drown in work over letting her mind go to thoughts that would not help her. Even with that heartbreak, she was thankful that she got to have Casey in her life, even if it felt like it had been for a short time, she was thankful and proud to say that after thinking her childhood was nothing more than books, Casey made it bright and fun, and she’d always be thankful for that.
Now, working at SVU, between the paperwork, motions, arraignments, and trials, she had more than enough to keep herself busy. She had also become close with the squad, spending part of her time in her office, in court or in the squad room, helping Alex to fill that hole in her life. She had been working on a rape with the squad and they had gone through all evidence and possible suspects that they had, but it seemed like nothing would be able to bring these little girls the justice they deserved, and that broke their hearts. Growing up, Alex tried to be this ‘cold’ persona to try and keep her emotions in, even if sometimes she failed, she knew better than to break this persona in front of people. She had chosen this career to bring justice and to help those who felt helpless, so if she had to be a serious and determined person in everyone’s eyes, she was in for it.
“The thought of them losing their childhood for this asshole, and we can’t connect him to anything.” Elliot shook his head as he sighed.
“There’s still hope that they can at least work through it and enjoy their childhood but…it’s a work in progress.” Huang shrugged. “What they went through…it’s not something they’ll easily forget.”
“Every kid deserves to have a happy and nice childhood. It’s a shame.” Munch looked back at them as he sat in his chair.
“You had a nice one, Munch?” Fin grinned as he looked at his partner.
“I did. Can recall every bad thing I did.” Munch grinned.
“Can only imagine that.” Olivia laughed and then looked at Alex. “How about you, counselor? Was your childhood okay?”
“I can only imagine Cabot being a serious kid, hiding from everyone with a pile of books by her side. I’d like for you to tell me I’m wrong.” Elliot raised his brow as he looked back at Alex.
Alex offered a faint smile as she looked at them. “It was a bundle of light and joy.” She grabbed her briefcase and then made her way out, leaving everyone with a confused look on their faces, everyone staring at each other.
********************
Alex felt like she was back to being nine years old when the squad asked her to go with them to a softball game and support Elliot. It had been years since she had stepped a food on a softball field, she had no reason to go to and it brough back many memories that she really didn’t want to be reminded of it would hurt too much. But, she had promised that she’d try to go out with the squad more often and that she’d do better to socialize and be a more open person, so she pushed herself out of her bed, dressed up in comfortable clothes and went ahead to meet the squad. She knew she’d get bored at some point, so she took a book with her just in case; she carried one  special book either in her briefcase or in her purse everywhere she went, that book that she hasn’t finished in years, and she couldn’t bring herself to do so. She didn’t have that person to tell the end of the book after all.
She sat on the stands beside Olivia, smiling slightly as she noticed everyone being so excited to support Elliot, they even had shirts with his name on them, which Alex had refused to use. Once the game started, she once again prepared herself mentally to spend the next hour or so to see nothing but sweaty people batting and running around. She didn’t tell them that she understood the game a bit, spending a lot of time with Casey had helped her to understand the game enough to know when she was either winning or losing, that with Casey in the team, they always won. For a moment, she had decided to grab the other book she had brought to keep herself a distracted and then be able to go back to the game, but in that same moment, her eyes suddenly fell on a redhead, a woman. She frowned and stared with intent at the woman, there were about 3 or 4 women in each team, but that was not any woman, she recognized her, she knew her eyes weren’t lying to her; that was Casey Novak.
Her heart sank for a moment as she had a hard moment to catch her breath. It was impossible. It couldn’t be her. But she would recognize those eyes, that hair, those cute and adorable dimples of her anywhere she went, even if she hasn’t seen Casey in years, she could never be wrong about recognizing someone, and more now that it was Casey. Her Casey. Suddenly the game became interesting as she saw that Casey was going to bat next, smiling a bit as it brought her back to those years when she’d be first on the stands, and she’d be cheering for Casey. Casey had joked so many times calling Alex her cheerleader, and even if Alex had hated it so much, she couldn’t help but agree, she’d always be her number #1 fan. She completely forgot that she was with the squad and people she knew were around her, her eyes never looking away from Casey. Next thing she knew, Casey had made a homerun, and she was running, making Alex stand from her place and clap louder than anyone around her.
“Go, Ali Cat!” Alex screamed before her mind proceeded with her words, not noticing at first but then figured out what she had said. Her heart stopped as she looked back at the squad who were now staring at her.
Alex tried to say something, her mouth opening and closing as she tried to make up words to justify what had just left her mouth, but nothing came out, and now she was not only speechless, but her face felt as warm as the sun, and there was no way she could escape from this. So, the only thing she could do was say that she had to run away, not giving them time to say anything to her or joke or laugh at what she had said, soon enough, she vanished from the place.
Casey was running for her life as she heard screams and clapping, but as she got to the last base, she almost tripped as she heard the unfamiliar yet so familiar name that she had not heard in years. She stopped in her tracks as she looked at the stands and tried to find whoever had screamed that name, almost thinking that she was delusional and that maybe she was dehydrated or something. But just as her team ran to her to celebrate the win, her eyes landed on a blonde that seemed to be leaving in a hurry, not giving Casey any chance to take a good look at her to see who she was. She smiled at her team and tried to focus on what was happening, but she was stuck in thought. It couldn’t be, could it? It’s been sixteen years. She was probably just tired.
********************
“You’re kidding me.” Alex whispered softly as the elevator doors opened and just a few feet away from her, there she was; Casey.
It had been around 2 weeks since the softball game accident, the squad knew better than to mention what had happened back there, but now their curiosity to know more about Alex had grown and they were paying more attention to Alex than before. They knew that Alex was a private person, and she didn’t talk much about her private life, just like any of them, but after what they had seen that day, that bright smile on Alex and the excitement which had taken over her entirely, something…no…someone had brought Alex to act that way, and they wanted to know who.
And now, Alex had the reason why right in front of her, just a few feet away. She would be lying if she said that she didn’t see Casey in the law field, Casey was great with arguing and didn’t settle for just any agreement, and Alex knew because they had been stuck in many ‘arguments’ and took their time to settle for a decision that benefited the both of them. Alex always thought it was cute because she always thought that because she was older, Casey would listen to her, but she was wrong, and she’d literally do anything for her. So, seeing her here, in the same building as she was, dressed in a pretty black suit with high heels and her beautiful red hair, it was both surprising but not weird at all. It now made sense why she had been playing with the attorneys in the softball game.
Would she recognize her? She didn’t think she would. It’s been so long, they completely lost contact and maybe Casey had forgotten about her, maybe she didn’t even remember who she was. So she couldn’t just come up to her and say hi, not after what had happened in the game, she didn’t think she had heard her or maybe she did, but even then, she wouldn’t recognize her. She stopped the doors of the elevator as they started to close, not even noticing that she had stood there just staring at Casey, hopefully no one noticed. She cleared her throat and looked down at the floor as she walked to her office, trying not to get noticed.
Later in her office, she had tried to focus on her paperwork, but her mind couldn’t stop thinking about Casey and her being in the same building as she was. Was she supposed to just pretend that nothing happened and that she was not there? That she didn’t know her? I mean, she could try, definitely, but she knew she would fail. Her anxiety just wouldn’t forget it. But go to her and say hi? She couldn’t do that. She didn’t want to be a creep, she didn’t want to make a fool out of herself. She had already done that once and she regretted it so much. She looked at her briefcase and sighed softly as she opened it and got the book that Casey had given her years ago. She smiled as she looked down at it, her fingers tracing the wrinkles that the cover now had. Even though she had taken good care of it, she took it everywhere with her, unfinished, and being in her briefcase or her bag, caused the book to have its imperfections now, but still meant everything to Alex. She didn’t notice that her boss was standing on her doorframe, just staring at her, and wondering what was going on in Alex’s mind.
“Alex?” Elizabeth asked as she raised her brow.
Alex looked up at Elizabeth and offered a shy smile. “Hi. Is everything okay?”
Elizabeth nodded and walked inside the office. “Yes. Just came to say hi.”
Alex raised her brow as she grinned. “You never just come to say hi. What did I do?”
“Why do you think you did something? Did you?” Elizabeth smirked.
“I don’t think so, not yet.” Alex placed the book in front of her and smiled as she leaned back in her chair.
“Those detectives are definitely changing your mind, they’ll drag you down with them.” Elizabeth smiled.
Alex chuckled as she shook her head. “They’re not. And if anything, I’m willing to. They have a good heart.”
Elizabeth nodded. “I know you’ve been loads of work, not only from SVU cases, so…Branch and I decided to bring a new recruit to help you out.”
Alex frowned as she looked at Elizabeth. “I don’t…I don’t need any help, Liz. I got this.”
“I know. Trust me. But I don’t want you to be drowning here, Alex. You also need a life outside of the office and the courtroom. Don’t worry. She’s good. I know her and I gotta admit that she’s almost on your level. Branch and I believe that she can definitely work with you and the squad.”
“You bet your money on her?” Alex grinned.
“I could.” Elizabeth smirked. “I’ll send her your way later. She’s with Branch right now.” Elizabeth walked to the door but was stopped by Alex.
“What’s her name?”
Elizabeth looked back at Alex. “Casey Novak.” She then looked at Alex’s desk and smiled. “I read that book years ago. So cliché but cute.”
Alex looked down at the book and smiled. “I uh…haven’t finished it.” She looked back at Elizabeth.
“You should.” Elizabeth smiled before she left the office.
Alex felt like her mind had started spinning around at the name, deep inside she knew it could be Casey, but part of wished that she would name someone else, that it wouldn’t be her. What was she supposed to do now? Was she going to pretend that she didn’t know her? Was she going to tell Casey who she was? Would she even remember her? The question spiraled on her mind once again, playing various scenarios in her mind as she tried to focus back on her paperwork, putting back the book inside her briefcase. This would definitely be torture; the what ifs, the scenarios playing in her mind, the millions of ways that this could play out. Anything could happen, but she couldn’t possibly deal with that ‘anything’.
Before she knew it, an hour or so had passed, she had gotten a call from Liv, telling her that some redhead had showed up at their scene and asked Alex why she couldn’t take the case. Alex didn’t know how Casey was as an attorney, but the fact she went to the scene with them made a lot of sense. Alex just explained to Olivia that if they needed anything, she’d be there for them, but to trust Casey in what she was doing, and things would be okay. After that, her anxiety was back taking over her body as she tried to focus back on work, but once again, it was interrupted by a knock on the door, and that is when, once again, Alex’s heart stopped just like the very first time she laid eyes on Casey.
“Hi. Liz told me to stop by your office.” Casey smiled softly. “Can I come in?”
Alex nodded as she cleared her throat. “Y-Yeah! Come on in.” She offered a small smile as Casey walked in and sat down. What was supposed to happen now?
“I heard you’re the ADA of SVU. Sorry that you gotta work with me now.” Casey chuckled softly.
Alex shook her head as she huffed a chuckle. “According to Liz, she doesn’t want me to drown in work and you’re here to save me from it.” She smiled as she looked at Casey. “Heard you already made yourself present with the detectives.”
Casey scoffed as she nodded. “I don’t think they like me much.”
Alex shook her head. “Don’t worry about it, Case. They just need to get used to you. I know they had to get used to me.”
Casey frowned at the mention of her name, even if some people had called her Case before, it felt different coming from the blonde in front of her. And then it hit her. This was the blonde that she saw in the game. She was not delusional, this had been the girl that yelled that nickname that she has not heard for the last sixteen years. And everything made sense now. She looked so mature, even more than she did when they were young, and now she was wearing glasses, which fit her so perfectly and made her features stand out. Her hair was shorter, it was as beautiful as she remembered but now it braced her face just perfectly. And those eyes…how could she forget those blue eyes; she always thought that those stood out over anything else, and she loved looking into them. This was Alex Cabot. Her Alex Cabot.
“Ali Bear.” Casey whispered softly as she stared at Alex.
Alex’s heart stopped at the nickname, staring back into green eyes. “You…you remember me?”
Casey’s smile widened as she huffed a laugh. “How could I forget you? We…you were my best friend in my childhood.”
Alex’s heart warmed at her words, her smile widening too. “And you were mine.” She chuckled softly as she shook her head. “I uh…I was afraid maybe you…you wouldn’t recognize me.”
Casey tilted her head as she smiled. “You’re the only one I’d ever let call me Ali, remember?” She shrugged. “It’s been that way ever since.”
“So, no one knows your middle name is Allison, huh?” Alex grinned.
“Nope, and I hope no one knows.” Casey laughed softly as she looked down at her hands for a moment, and then her eyes went back to stare at Alex. “I always wondered what you were up to.” She smiled.
Alex smiled softly and nodded. “I wondered too.”
Casey smiled. “How about we go for a drink to update each other?” She bit her lip softly as she tilted her head.
Alex felt butterflied on her stomach as she looked at Casey, always been fascinated by the way she bit her lip. “Sounds good.”
********************
Alex was talking to Olivia and Elliot about a case that had been assigned to her, trying to go over what they could and not do to not screw the case. As always, Elliot tried to get under her nerves trying to get her to do as they pleased and basically telling her to ignore the law and her bosses, sighing loudly as she looked away. Elliot kept going on and off about how Alex didn’t think about the victims and more shit, and in that moment Alex stopped listening to him as she noticed Casey walking out of Cragen’s office, making her focus on her and literally ignore Elliot. She smiled softly as Casey’s eyes landed on her and she smiled back at her, trying to get her attention back to Cragen.
“Alex!”
Alex turned to look at Elliot as she sighed. “I told you already, and I won’t repeat myself. Either you get me a good reason, or I won’t be doing anything. I’m not about to do your job, Elliot. And you know that.” Elliot sighed as he shook his head and walked away from them, leaving Olivia and Alex alone. Alex turned to look at Olivia and raised her brow. “Anything you’d like to say, detective?”
Olivia shook her head as she grinned. “You got lost there for a moment.”
Alex frowned. “What do you mean?”
“Oh, c’mon. You’re really gonna tell me that you were not just staring at Novak.”
Alex turned back to look at Casey and then back at Olivia, shrugging. “Not sure what you mean. I just didn’t know she was here.”
“Oh, so the smile she gave you was…nothing.”
Alex rolled her eyes. “Your point?”
Olivia grinned as she tilted her head. “She was the bundle of light and joy, wasn’t it?”
Alex stared at Olivia for a moment, and against her will, a smile appeared on her face, rolling her eyes as she looked away. “I-“
“You know better than to lie.” Olivia raised her brow.
Alex looked back at her and smiled. “Yes. It was Casey.”
“And you hadn’t seen each other all these years?”
Alex shook her head. “Sixteen years. She moved away, we tried to stay in contact but…it only worked for a bit.”
“And you had a crush on her.” Olivia smirked.
Alex rolled her eyes again as she grinned. “What is this, 20 questions?”
“I’m curious.” Olivia smiled.
“You better not tell the rest of the squad.” Alex raised her brow.
“Oh, they been curious for a while now…Ali Cat.” Olivia grinned playfully as she laughed.
Alex hit her arm playfully. “Shut up. I thought you guys would never mention that, and please, do not bring it up to Casey.”
Olivia chuckled. “C’mon. It’s cute. Childhood nickname?” Alex nodded. “What’s yours?” She smiled.
Alex sighed. “Ali Bear…” she whispered softly.
“That. Is adorable.” Olivia laughed again. “Better than ice queen.”
“You know what, I’m out of here. I’ve got work to do.” Alex grabbed her briefcase and shook her head.
Olivia laughed again and patted Alex’s back before she left. Alex hadn’t noticed, but the whole time she had been talking to Olivia, Casey had been staring at her and trying to figure out whatever she was talking about to Olivia. She sighed softly as she focused back on Cragen and offered a small smile before she too left. It had been a long time since they both had seen each other, even if Alex had recognized her and they were now spending time together again, she knew better than to think that Alex had been thinking about her this whole time. Casey had only been her childhood best friend and now they were colleagues, trying to form a friendship again. That was it.
********************
“C’mon, Casey. You really don’t believe that.” Olivia sighed as she shook her head.
“Olivia, you cannot hold her here when we have no reason. If you get her to confess right now, you can definitely book her in, but otherwise, we have nothing.” Casey said as she looked at Olivia.
“She killed that kid, and you want her to walk away?!” Olivia raised her voice as she looked back at Casey.
“Olivia…it’s been almost 24 hrs. You got nothing on her, and I don’t see her confessing any time soon. She’s not under arrest and soon enough, she’ll lawyer up. Unless she already did, and you haven’t told me about it.” Casey stared at her with a serious look.
Olivia shook her head. “You’re unbelievable. You rather her walk away and get back home, and maybe, she’ll go after another innocent kid. But no, we cannot arrest her. It’ll be on you if another kid dies in her hands!”
“Olivia, that’s enough!”
Both Casey and Olivia turned to find Alex at the door, staring at both women. Alex was now directly staring at Olivia, and Olivia could feel the tension and figured that she had upset not only Casey, but Alex too. After a moment of silence, Alex finally sighed and spoke up, cutting the tension of the room.
“You know better than to argue and blame Casey for something that is not in her hands. Cut her loose and try to find something.” Alex tried to sound as calm as possible, her eyes never leaving Olivia’s.
Olivia nodded softly as she looked between Casey and Alex. “Okay.” She whispered softly and walked out of the room, leaving Alex and Casey alone.
Casey crossed her arms as she sighed, looking back at the suspect. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“There’s nothing you can do right now, Casey. I know better than anyone that it’s their way to intimidate you, so you do something. And honestly, that’d only get you in trouble.”
“I’d get in trouble, not you. So why does it matter?” Casey looked back at Alex and shrugged. “Olivia is right. She’ll go back to the streets, she could get another kid and…” she sighed. “It’ll be on me.”
Alex walked to Casey and placed her hand on her shoulder, rubbing it up and down. “They’ll find something, and you’ll get her. Do not start blaming yourself for this now, Case. Olivia is just upset.”
Casey scoffed as she looked away and licked her lips. “Yeah, well. Maybe you should calm your girlfriend down.” She said almost in a whisper as she went to get her briefcase.
Alex frowned as her eyes followed Casey. “What?”
Casey looked back at Alex as she shrugged. “She listened to you. I could’ve said the same to her and she’d still be all over me here, yelling at me, telling me how I’m heartless and prefer to let her walk free.” She shook her head. “But you walked in, and suddenly she agrees.”
“Casey-“
“No, seriously, Alex. I get it. They have to get used to me but…maybe you should tell your girlfriend that I’m only trying to do my job here, and that’s it. I’m not looking for enemies or anything.” Casey sighed as she shook her head again. “I’ll see you back in the office.”
Before Alex could say anything else, Casey walked out of the room, leaving Alex alone with a confused look on her face. Her girlfriend? Where did she get that from? Why would she say that and why did she seem to be so upset? A lot of questions crossed Alex’s mind as she stood there. Was…was Casey jealous?
********************
The unfinished book had been laying on Alex’s bed for a while now, Alex had gotten herself to finish some paperwork at home since it was a chilly night in New York, and she preferred to finish all of it back in the comfort of her house. She was now making sure that the paperwork was done and making sure there was nothing left to do before she closed the file and put it back on her briefcase. Her eyes landed on the book for a moment, Liz’s words suddenly showed up in her mind as she smiled. She had only left two chapters, around forty pages left. The reason she had never finished the book had been because it reminded her of Casey, and reading it only meant that she would know the end of it, and she wouldn’t be able to tell Casey about it. Of course, she could’ve just told her over the phone, but it wasn’t the same. It wouldn’t be the same. She sighed softly as she grabbed it and placed it back in her briefcase, deciding it was time to sleep.
A few days later, Alex had just arrived at her office after a full day of motions and trials, feeling defeated as she sat down on her chair, leaning back and throwing her head back as she groaned. For the second time that week, her eyes landed on the book that was peaking out of her briefcase, almost as if it was calling for her. For a moment, it made her think back to what had happened with Casey a week ago, she had not been able to talk to her because they both had been pretty busy and Alex had not seen her around the office, but something also told her that maybe, Casey was avoiding her. Even if she was still confused and a little sad over it, she smiled a little and grabbed it, opening it for the first time in god knew how long. Her eyes studied the whole page and finally, she decided she was ready to finish it.
She figured that it had been somehow silly that she never finished it, but it had honestly meant so much for Alex when Casey gave her the book, that the thought of finishing it without her, broke her heart and it made her feel as if she was betraying Casey in some way. Now, Casey seemed to be mad at her, but something told her that she had to finish it, that she could now finish it, and maybe this could be some sort of closure for her. An hour or so went by and Alex had been leaning back on her chair, moving it side to side as she read the book, lost in the words; she had missed how fantasy books made her feel, and it so happened that this book had come with a twist that she had not expected but it made her smile ear to ear. A knock on the door made her look up, her smile fading slightly as she noticed the redhead standing at the door.
“Hey.” Casey said softly.
“Hi.” Alex offered a small smile. “I thought I was the only one in the office.”
Casey huffed a chuckle as she shrugged. “I had to do some paperwork and I thought it would be better to finish it here.”
Alex nodded. “Heading out?”
Casey nodded. “Yeah.” She nibbled on her lip as she looked at Alex. “But…I was hoping I would find you here.”
Alex grinned slightly. “It’s your lucky day.”
Casey chuckled softly as she nodded, closing the door behind her even though she knew they were the only people there. “I uh…I wanted to apologize, for the other day. You…you were protecting me and I just…took it out on you.”
Alex shrugged. “The squad gets on your nerves at some point.” She offered a sympathetic smile.
“But not you.” Casey shook her head. “And you didn’t do anything other than speak for me.”
Alex nodded. “Apology accepted.”
“I’m also sorry about the Olivia thing. It was out of line and-“
“She’s not my girlfriend.”
Casey frowned as she looked at Alex. “She’s…not?”
Alex shook her head. “No.” She chuckled. “We’re just…close friends but…she’s not.”
“Oh.” Casey blushed slightly, trying to look away. “I- made a fool of myself.” She chuckled nervously as she looked down at her hands.
Alex frowned as she had a playful grin on her face. “Did you really think we were together?”
“I just-“ Casey shrugged as she looked back at Alex. “You…you were laughing and…I thought-“
“We were talking about you.” Alex snapped as she smiled.
Casey stopped for a moment and just stared at Alex. “What?”
“She…” Alex huffed a laugh. “That day…of the game. I was supposed to go in support of Elliot. They had invited me, and I had said that I wouldn’t go but they insisted. I got there, and I knew that I was going to bored. I had not been to a game since I went to yours.” She sighed. “When I screamed for you…they stared at me with a face…” she laughed. “With a face that could clearly tell that they were so confused. They were so confused, and I ran away. And then, one time, we were talking about this case, they mentioned out childhoods, and when I was asked how mine had been…I said it had been a bundle of light and joy.” She smiled. “I meant you.”
Casey’s whole body warmed at her words, a faint smile on her face as she listened to Alex. “She figured it out.”
Alex nodded as she smiled. “She did.” She shrugged. “She asked me about you, and I told her. She was making fun of my nickname.”
Casey rolled her eyes playfully. “It was only fair that you were Ali Bear.”
Alex chuckled as she nodded. “Of course, you were my Ali Cat.” She smiled.
Casey smiled as she placed her briefcase on the chair, walking to Alex and leaning over the desk. “What else did you say?”
Alex looked up at Casey and smiled. “I didn’t let her say or ask anything else. I just left.”
Casey nodded. “Was there a question you didn’t answer?”
Alex stared at her for a moment and nodded. “There was.”
Casey smiled softly and then looked down at Alex’s desk, noticing the book in front of her. Her smile widened. “You still have it.”
Alex looked back at the book and smiled. “I just finished it.”
Casey looked back at her and smiled. “Tell me the end?”
Alex looked back at Casey and smiled, a slight blush on her cheeks. “It’s a love story with a twist. She thinks she had her whole future planned, fell in love with someone. But…she ended up with her best friend.”
“A girl?” Casey raised her brow.
“A girl.” Alex smiled as she shrugged. “I’ve never read a book like this one. They always end up with the handsome guy.”
“A bit cliché, anyway, don’t you think?” Casey grinned.
“Maybe. Still nice to see a different ending.” Alex smirked. “Haven’t read a book like this in years.”
“And why did you never finish it?” Casey asked softly as she crossed her arms, looking at Alex with a curious look on her face.
Alex looked down at the book and smiled. “Because you weren’t here to tell you the end.” She looked back up at Casey and smiled. “But now you are.”
Casey wetted her lips and nibbled on it, staring down at Alex. “What was the question, Alex?”
Alex took a deep breath and stood up from her chair, standing in front of Casey. She didn’t know where all this confidence had come from, but she would take it any day. “She asked if I had a crush on you back then.” She took a moment, knowing that Casey would ask about it. “And I didn’t answer it. But the answer is yes…I did.”
Casey smiled. “A kids crush?”
Alex chuckled as she shrugged. “Figured until I was 13.”
Casey stared at her for a moment as she took a deep breath, grinning. “I figured when I was 10.”
Alex frowned. “What?”
“I might’ve been a little too young but…” Casey shrugged. “I had heard other girls talking about crushes. I heard about their crushes and…I tried to read about it anywhere, what a crush was and how could you tell you had one.” She smiled. “I figured when I was ten. But we were kids. I thought…it would just go away. But all I could think about was you.”
Alex’s heart stopped for a moment as she looked into green eyes, taking off her glasses out of nervousness, not knowing where she could put her hands or what to do at the moment. She then started playing with them, not knowing what to say. “And…was it just a kids crush?”
Casey shook her head. “No.” She smiled. “It became more than a kids crush. You never left my mind. And I waited for the day where I could finally see you again, and I hoped for so long that I would.” Alex tilted her head as she brought the temple tip of her glasses to her lips, biting it as she nodded. Casey slowly took the glasses from Alex and put them back on Alex, her hand landing on Alex’s cheek while the other put a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. “I always wondered if you’d ever end up with glasses.” She smiled. “They fit you so well. I like it.”
Alex stared at her, her breath hitched as she felt Casey’s stare literally intimidating her without intention. “Casey.” She breathed out.
“It has not gone away, Alex. After all these years.” Casey smiled. “And I finally found you.”
Alex smiled softly as she nodded. “I found you too.”
“So…Ali Bear…” Casey chuckled. “Do you have a crush on me?” She grinned.
Alex chuckled softly as she bit her lip. “Ali Cat…I do. I’ve been in love with you for the longest time. As cheesy as that sounds.”
Casey tilted her head as she smiled. “So.” She stroked her cheek softly. “Should we give it a try?”
Alex smiled as she placed her hands on Casey’s waist, making her stand up and move closer to Alex. “I don’t want to miss another chance, not when you’re back in my life.”
“You’re so cheesy, Ali Bear.” Casey chuckled softly as she wrapped her arms around Alex’s neck and pulled her closer, closing the gap between them.
Alex smiled against her lips before kissing Casey back, her arms wrapping around Casey’s waist and bringing her impossibly closer to her body. Of course it wasn’t her first kiss, but it felt like it was the kiss that she had always dreamt of having, and with the perfect person. She laughed in her mind at how cheesy this whole conversation had turned, but after all, she had ended with the cliché finale that she had read so many times, but this time, that finale included Casey and not some lame, stupid guy. It included the girl of her dreams, and she knew this was just the beginning of their story.

Sophie's Hon Vol. IV Paris Fashion Week Edition
Welcome back to this series in time for the lovebirds' return to Paris, the City of Love, the same the city where we saw them kiss for the first time.
A lot of their most romantic pics yet and some sexy stuff under the cut!
WINE ME, DINE ME, SIXTY NINE ME . . . .
The first sight of Sophie and Perry in Paris was on Sunday, March 3th, while they were leaving Le Bristol Hotel to attend a especial dinner:
Tumblr media
Here we can see Sophie with Danielle Haim and Jamie Mizrahi at FRAME Paris Fashion Week Dinner, held at Caviar Kaspia Restaurant:
Tumblr media
On their return to their hotel, Sophie was pictured very happy and relaxed and holding Perry's black jumper:
Tumblr media
I guess Sophie was looking at Perry in these pictures, he seems to make her laugh and smile a lot 😊
Now, we don't know when the lovebirds arrived in Paris, but while these pictures were appearing on the internet, I was alerted by anon message that Sophie had created a playlist with a very particular name just the day before (Saturday, March 2th) . . . . 👀 🙈 🤭
Here some songs that stand out:
These lips can't wait to taste your skin, baby, no, no And these eyes, yeah, can't wait to see your grin, ooh, ooh, baby Just let my love Just let my love adorn you Please baby, yeah —Adorn by Miguel
Oh lá lá . . . . 💋
Whispered something in your ear It was a perverted thing to say But I said it anyway Made you smile and look away Nothing's gonna hurt you, baby As long as you're with me, you'll be just fine Nothing's gonna hurt you, baby Nothing's gonna take you from my side —Nothing's gonna hurt you Baby by Cigarettes After Sex
I guess Paris brings out passion in lovers . . . . 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
~~~
YOUR CLOTHES LOOK BETTER ON ME . . . .
The next day, Monday, March 4th, Sophie and Perry went to the Louis Vuitton Paris La Samaritaine store, probably for Sophie's outfit fitting for the next day show:
Tumblr media
On their return to their hotel, they went on a very romantic stroll through the City of Love, holding hands, walking by le Pont des Arts, sitting on benches to exchange clothes, and being the most affectioned with each other . . . .
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh my heart . . . . Why are they so cute and sweet and lovely???
OK, so when they actually arrive to their hotel, Sophie was wearing Perry's green jacket that looks so big on her, and I love it!
Tumblr media
I know, Sophie, I know . . . . It's so nice to smell the scent of the person we love on us . . . .
Oh, to be young and in love . . . . in Paris 💕
GIRAFE & COSTES
During the night of Monday, March 4th, Sophie and Perry were seen at Girafe restaurant, and later at Costes restaurant.
There are several videos of Sophie being so nice and sweet with her fans waiting for her at her hotel door and at those restaurants doors. She took pictures and videos and sent greetings for a lot of lucky fans. You can watch it here & here.
In those videos you can see that Perry's friend, Rupert Gorst, joined them that night. He is the same friend that travelled with them to ski in Meribel.
In those videos you can also see that Sophie left Costes restaurant with a Glowery bag. Glowery is a brand founded by Alexandra Kolasinski (a long time friend of Sophie's ex husband), so Sophie probably met with her at Costes. I'm mentioning this just to reiterate that the "cheating allegations" are a made up narrative.
OK, let's see the pictures!
Leaving Girafe:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loving the way Perry is holding Sophie's hand in these pictures . . . .
Leaving Costes:
Tumblr media
Lol at Rupert waving his hand to the paps in the back 😂
Here's another video of them leaving Costes, via Backdrid with Game of Thrones theme lol
I like how Perry is the last to leave, several steps behind her and Rupert and he opted to read his phone to avoid the paps pictures . . . . Also, how lovely and polite Sophie is with fans and paps!
Now to the main event!
I have a problem, and it's called "becoming obsessed with the most obscure sapphic ship I can find" lol. After what happens between these two in canon though, I needed to make some art of them being cute and gay to wash away the pain
also, I randomly decided to write a little ficlet thingy to go along with this picture, so if that sounds interesting to you, read on below!
---------------------------------------------------
After class, Anna grabbed Alexandra's arm, holding her back as everyone else filed down the hallway.  "Come with me," she said, once she and Alexandra were the last one's left.
Alexandra looked at her quizzically, but acquiesced. "Okay."
Anna took Alexandra's hand and began dragging her along. She led her up two flights of stairs and around several corners, to one of the many forgotten, unused corridors in the school. Anna was sure they wouldn't be disturbed here - most students would now be returning to their dorms, or else dispersing themselves among the various clubrooms and the grounds outside.
"So what's up?" Alexandra asked. "Why couldn't we go back to our room if we needed to talk?"
Anna chewed on her lip.  "We need some privacy. Some real privacy, without any interruptions."
Alexandra snorted. "Sonja." She rolled her eyes.
Anna was glad she understood. Sonja had an annoying - though slightly endearing - habit of barging into their room without warning, and Anna felt her cheeks heating up at the mere thought of Sonja walking in on them during this.
Alexandra proceeded to pull out her wand, then began to sweep it in a half-circle, a motion Anna recognized as her sound dampening charm. Anna placed her hand over Alexandra's, stopping the spell. "Um. That's... not necessary, Alex."
Slowly, Alexandra put her wand back in her pocket, then gave Anna a long, appraising look. She must have noticed the tension on Anna's face. "Anna? What's wrong?"
Inside, Anna was screaming at herself. She had been so confident earlier, told herself all morning that today would be the day. But now that they were actually here, alone, she was losing her nerve. She began trying to think up an excuse for having dragged her friend up here, something to let her avoid the truth, yet again. All of a sudden she was back to the shy, timid girl she had been five years ago, before she came to Charmbridge.
But then Alexandra had come crashing into her life and befriended her, seemingly on a whim. She had shown Anna bravery and courage, had shown her that being brash, and confident, and even a little reckless sometimes, could be a good thing.
Because of Alex, she could be brave. For Alex, she could be a little reckless, just this once.
Anna took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled. "Nothing's wrong. In fact..." Anna reached and grasped Alexandra's hands. She ran her fingertips over the charm bracelet Alexandra wore, the one Anna had given her. "I think things are really, really right."
Anna ran her hands up Alexandra's arms, then rested her palms on her shoulders, before giving her a gentle push. Alexandra backed up, pressing into the wall behind her, and Anna took a moment to gauge her reaction.
The two of them often hugged and occasionally held hands, so physical intimacy wasn't foreign to them. But this time was different, and Alexandra had clearly noticed that. Her face was now slightly flush, her expression a mix of shock and wonder. She said nothing, but gently nodded, and Anna stepped forward to close the space between them.
Anna leaned in close, resting her head against Alexandra's collar, and wrapped her arms around her best friend. She breathed in deep. Alexandra smelled like shampoo, and laundry soap, and just a hint of smoke and sulfur, probably from some hex or curse, or maybe an accident in her Potions class. Nothing that could be considered 'girly', though Anna didn't mind - she loved that about Alex. Alexandra hugged her back, tightly.
Anna pulled away, just a little, so she could look up into Alexandra's eyes. They seemed to shimmer and spark sometimes, Anna thought, shining like emeralds. Right then, they seemed to glow in the magical light from the lanterns around them. Hesitantly, Anna reached up to cup Alexandra's face, as if she were afraid she'd scare her away. When Alexandra leaned into the touch, Anna swiped her thumb over her cheek.
"Anna..." Alexandra breathed, and it was all she could manage. For once, Anna had left her speechless, not the other way around.
Anna raised up onto her toes and tilted her chin to bring her face up to Alexandra's. Their lips brushed together as she spoke.
"I love you, Alex."
Anyone But You
Tumblr media
***SPOILERS***
I had heard a lot about this movie
Some said it was great and others said it was horrible so I tried to keep an open mind
Overall I felt it was just…Meh
The beginning seemed promising enough with the little meet cute they had
But after that it quickly falls flat
When the characters Bea and Ben meet again they can’t stand each other
And while I love the enemy-to-lovers trope this just felt so fake
The characters are supposed to be annoyed and make snarky comments to each other which this movie did do
But it was to much. Bea and Ben would be standing there dissing each other for 5 minutes. It felt like they were two kids telling jokes on a playground more than people who actually hate each other
And their whole problem didn’t make sense?
Ben was mad that Bea left before he got up and Beas mad Ben was talking bad about her
Which can be a genuine communication error except Bea knows Claudia, Bens friend, and has told her what happened
And Ben has obviously told Claudia his side so why hasn’t this issue been cleared up by the wedding?
Yes by the time they meet again Bea is already engaged but still clearing the air wouldn’t be that hard?
Anyways Claudia and Beas sister are getting married so Bea and Ben are both invited to the wedding
Leads to a lot of the cheesy and overdone snarking
Claudia’s parents come up with the idea of getting Bea and Ben together so that they can avoid any fighting at the wedding
Beas parents also invite her ex fiancé and Claudia invites her cousin who broke Bens heart
Bea and Ben catch wind of the set up and decide to just pretend to be together to make life easier
This leads to typical fake dating antics but honestly I didn’t find myself rooting for it at all
I knew they’d end up together but I didn’t really care to see how
The leads Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell just didn’t seem interesting. I didn’t buy the “hate” so when they do get together it’s not really a big deal
Oh they really do love each other, cool.
Even the comedic relief best friend wasn’t all that funny
The best parts of the movie had to be the Australian duo and Alexandra Shipp as Claudia
Though I will say there were some parts that made me giggle like the airplane scene and the fire disaster but overall I can’t find myself watching this one again
For the plot bunny ask game: Darren Criss + Barbie (2023) please??
@dancingsunflowers-ocs ✨💛✨
Oh, now this one’s fun (😂). Thanks so much for it, Alexandra!! (And I suppose I’ll tag @come-along-pond and @auxiliarydetective since they also have Barbie OCs. <3)
Tumblr media
NAME: Ken.
LOVE INTEREST: Allan.
SUMMARY: In a land full of Kens and Barbies, Allan is the one deviation from the crowd, the one resident of Barbieland who does not fit into either group of people - and that is the exact reason why one particular Ken loves him so much. After living his entire existence - and he’s not even sure how long that’s actually been - in one place, doing the same thing day after day after day, he has slowly begun to spend all his time with the awkward redhead, wanting a break from the endless repetition of hanging out with the other Kens, and over time, that has turned to genuine, heart-fluttering love. The only problem is that Allan doesn’t seem to realize that Ken loves him - but when the head Barbie and Ken leave Barbieland for The Real World and Ken comes back and turns Barbieland into something unrecognizable, circumstances might arise for feelings to finally be confessed.
OTHER INFO:
Boyfriend for Allan, yay!!
He’s not exactly one of the older Kens in terms of when he was made, but his whole aesthetic and appearance is based on the fifties, so he uses fifties and forties slang a lot and it’s really cute when he does.
Basically he kind of went through a smaller version of what Stereotypical Barbie does, going every day is the same and I don’t think I like it anymore, but his reaction, rather than leaving Barbieland, is to just start hanging out with Allan since he’s the only one who doesn’t fit into the Ken-and-Barbie mould. Allan doesn’t really know how to react to this at first, but the two of them become friends after a while, and eventually Ken falls in love with him.
The only one besides Allan and Weird Barbie to not join the other Kens in controlling the Barbies, because he’s just like “What the heck are you guys doing?”. Absolutely thrilled when Stereotypical Barbie comes back and helps to fix it, and also tries to escape Barbieland alongside Allan and fights alongside him when they’re almost stopped.
Finally gets to confess to Allan and kiss him after Barbieland goes mostly back to normal, and they’re such a cute couple! All of Barbieland absolutely ships them.
send me a fandom and a faceclaim/love interest and i’ll make an oc!!
The doors open and they enter the ballroom. As they walk down the steps Natasha’s eyes scanned at the crowd she hears all the whispers and murmurs
Liam whispers in her ear “Hey just focus on me”
“Ok Liam”
As the ball goes on a blonde hair woman approaches them “Liam so good to see you”
“Alexandra so nice to you too”
Alexandra looks Natasha up and down “Is this your wife?”
“Yes this is Natasha”
“Hi so nice to meet you”
“You too so what house are you from”
“Beaumont”
“Strange I didn’t know the Beaumont house had female heirs”
“Oh no Maxwell offered me an opportunity to come here so I was trained in the royal ways”
“So you’re commoner then?”
“Yeah”
“But now she’s a queen my queen” He kisses her cheek “And I couldn’t be happier”
“Very…cute Liam well see you around” Alexandra struts away
Natasha smiles “She seemed nice”
“Yeah I guess she did”
“Excuse me Liam I’m gonna go to the bathroom” Natasha walks away
Liam goes to greet more guests. After his rounds Liam heads to get a drink he overhears Alexandra with the other ladies
“Can you believe it Liam married a commoner that should be me next to him being queen”
“I wonder where his head is?”
“I know I mean what can a commoner give him” Alexandra scoff “He’ll probably be wiping her bum”
The other ladies laugh
Liam felt himself tense up as she continues
“What does she have that us royals and nobles don’t? I’m ten times better than her I mean I’m the heir to the Davidson house I’m gonna be a duchess and I’ve known Liam since we were babies I would have been the perfect queen out of all the girls he marries her? What’s so special about her?”
Liam slams his drink on the table and marches right up to her “How dare you disrespect my wife?!”
Alexandra looks at him shocked “Liam I was just -”
“Just what?!”
Alexandra looks around and sees people watching
“No go ahead say what you were saying I’m sure we’ll all love to hear the garbage coming out your mouth!”
“But Liam why her?! I’ve known you for years we grew up together the whole country expected us to be together and yet you choose a commoner over me?!” She takes a step forward “I could have been perfect for you I’ve been in love with you for years and yet”
Liam holds up a hand to stop her “You don’t know Natasha like I do she’s kind caring amazing passionate and hardworking she cares about everyone she’s an amazing person while you’re petty self-absorbed and horrible!” Alexandra tries to respond but Liam continues “And I rather have a baby with the woman I love than someone of horrible as you!”
Gasps and whispers comes from the crowd
Alexandra’s eyes go wide “She’s pregnant?!”
“Yes” Liam beckons for someone in the crowd and Natasha comes out he wraps his arm around her waist. He turns to the crowd “My queen and I are expecting a baby and I don’t want such stupidity to happen here again if you got a problem with the queen you’ve got a problem with me is that understood?”
The crowd nods as Alexandra turns on her heels and runs out in tears
Natasha turns to Liam “Let’s go on the balcony”
Liam takes her hand and leads her outside he turns to her with a sad smile “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to blurt it out I know we were waiting but she just made me so angry I”
Natasha puts a finger to his lips “It’s ok Liam I love the way you defended me I’ve never seen you so angry before”
“Hey you’re my queen I’ll always defend you especially against bitches like that” Natasha laughs “I love you Natasha I wouldn’t trade my life with you for anything”
“I love you too Liam”
He kisses her deeply as their arms come around each other
(for the ask game!)
2. least favorite character but a moment where you liked them
honestly i'm not sure who my least favorite characters might be...uhhhh idk maybe something like b*kugou from That One Teen Superhero Anime (censored so this doesn't show up in the tags), but i only watched the first season and remember so little from it that i don't remember a moment where i liked him LOL. there are very few characters i HATE hate but when i do it's rare there's a moment i like them at all
13. favorite books?
oh god i don't read as much as i used to. i've only been able to sustain my interest on stuff i'm fixating on or things i need to read for a class or group so that leads to a really weird mix of books lol. some of my faves i can think of off the top of my head are konrad curze: the night haunter by guy haley, the canterbury tales by geoffrey chaucer, and paradise lost by john milton. i also remember really liking pachinko by min jin lee and a place for us by fatima farheen mirza. AND THEN i'm also partway through a few books: i like the concept of the terror by dan simmons a lot but i'm not the biggest fan of the execution so far; manhunt by gretchen felker-martin seems GREAT from the small portion i read before i forgot i downloaded it; and i'm hoping to finish terror, love, and brainwashing: attachment in cults and totalitarian systems by alexandra stein as soon as i can find a physical copy for cheap lol
22. what things do you love about the world?
many things honestly...the beauty of nature and such aside, one of my favorite things is the endurance of humanity, and the way (for better or worse) humans haven't changed all that much throughout history, and how we're still painting on walls and making stupid jokes and telling stories and being a bit of an inconvenience-but-it's-okay-because-i-love-you-anyway. (that's one of the reasons the canterbury tales is a favorite book of mine, it's just fantastically human.)
30. favorite animals?
axolotls have been my favorite animal since i discovered they existed via a nat geo kids magazine as a child (their surge of popularity recently has given me mixed emotions, mostly of the oh god they're highly endangered and difficult to keep as pets so please don't get one just because they're cute variety), but i also adore jellyfish of all kinds and i consider myself a bottomless well of random-ass jellyfish facts. ask me about them if you want (please) (please)
May I know about alexei's anecdotes from stavka?
Hi there! Of course! Lots of funny ones here, and some touching ones too.
Alexei spent a lot of time with the foreign ambassadors, playing with them outside and sitting on on their lunches. He seemed to be a great favourite with them, and definitely made HQ life a lot more fun. These ambassadors were from France, England, Japan, and further afield.
Tumblr media
There are also these fun and cute videos of Alexei at Stavka with Joy, playing with her. See them here. There are lots of videos of Alexei at Stavka, quite a few of him looking at the camera, pointing to it, and smiling, as well as playing and spinning around.
He wrote in letters to his mother often about Joy and the cats that were at HQ, and playing in the woods.
Tumblr media
'Stavka, 9th December 1916
My dear Mama.
Yesterday we again went into the forest and played at the robbers, it was very jolly. As usual I had the pony. The snow is now very deep and the trees are quite covered too, so that we often get a shower of snow as we go under them.
With much love from
Alexey'
-----
John Hanbury-Williams, who was head of the British unit at Stavka, had as good relationship with Alexei and wrote about him fondly in his memoirs and diaries, that can be read here. Sadly, Hanbury-Williams' son died in combat, and he wrote about how Alexei came and found him in his room and sat with him so he wouldn't feel lonely after receiving the news.
'20th December 1916. I heard the news of death of my eldest son, which was not unexpected. I was in the ante-room next the Emperor's before dinner, when, being alone, the little Tsarevitch came out of his father's room, ran up to me and sat next me, saying : ' Papa told me to come to sit with you as he thought you would feel lonely to-night.'
-------
Alexei also got up to a *lot* of mischief!
From John Hanbury-Williams:
14th November 1915. ...As I was talking the little Tsarevitch, who is full of fun and mischief, came and grabbed my coat-tails, somewhat upsetting the dignity of the business with his father, to whom he is devoted...'
'20th May 1916. The Emperor leaves for Odessa to see two newly formed divisions, and we have asked him to bring back the little Tsarevitch, who is a great favourite with us all, and a most happy-natured, attractive little fellow'
10th July 1916. The Tsarevich is here and in great spirits. He dragged some of us off after lunch in the tent to a round fountain in the garden which has porpoise heads all round it, with two holes in each to represent the eyes. The game was to plug up these holes with one's fingers, then turn on the fountain full split and suddenly let go. The result was that I nearly drowned the Emperor and his son, and they returned the compliment, and we all had to go back and change, laughing till we nearly cried, a childish amusement no doubt, but which did one good all the same.
'29th November 1916. After lunch to-day had a regular football scrimmage with the little Tsarevitch, who was in wild spirits'
A letter from Nicholas to Alexandra: "[I] have come in from the garden with wet sleeves and boots as Alexei sprayed us at the fountain. It is his favorite game […] peals of laughter ring out. I keep an eye, in order to see that things do not go too far."
For more letters between Nicholas and Alexandra, you can check out this book - it's fab!
-----
Pierre Gilliard, the children's French tutor, wrote about how he and Alexei would go off on car rides throughout the countryside during the day, although on one occasion the car was surrounded by peasants excited to see the heir. You can read more from Gilliard here.
There is also a fun anecdote from Sydney Gibbes, the children's English tutor, about Alexei grabbing a pair of scissors and hiding behind a curtain before cutting off a chunk of his hair, but I think this was before teaching at Stavka.
-----
And here are some fun photos of him at Stavka, for good measure :)
Albums showing Alexei and his sisters having fun at Stavka can be seen here:
Tatiana's 1916 album - just a warning some of the earlier pages has photos of operations and injuries at the hospital
Anastasia's 1915 - 1916 album
Nicholas's 1913-1916 album - these have the best photos
I hope this was helpful!
Knowing from birth that you’re gonna be king someday really puts pressure on a guy.
Ruling is a great responsibility, his father always said. He would know, being king himself. Which meant Roxas had to prepare to be king from the time he could walk. And he got the importance of being ready to rule, but there was just so much he had to learn. It made the extra court stuff seem really unnecessary. Like what his mother the queen was pushing him to do now.
“Do I really need another royal portrait?” he said, eyeing the nineteen other ones lining the walls of the room. Surely he didn’t look that different from last year, right? Same spiky blond hair, same serious face, same bored haughty look. No smiling allowed because it didn’t give off a regal enough air, apparently.
“Yes,” his mother responded matter-of-factly. She lifted up two different types of flowers, white lilies and blue roses, and he pointed to the roses. “It’s been a year, Roxas, and you still aren't married. We can use this year’s portrait to advertise the masquerade ball.”
“Getting married just isn’t that big of a priority right now,” he muttered. “I have to focus on my training to be king.”
“Yes, but you will need a wife eventually. It’s not something you can put off forever.” She held up a yellow ribbon and a pink one, and he pointed to the yellow ribbon and sighed deeply. This was a conversation that popped up more and more often, but he really didn’t want to think about it.
“When am I supposed to sit for my portrait?” he finally asked, because he knew fighting his mother on this was pointless. Especially when she was on a roll with the ball preparations. Planning events like this really put her in her element, especially ones that involved her beloved son.
“This afternoon,” she replied. “Don’t worry, I’ve already had the servants clear your schedule.” She turned to one of them, a tall, lanky woman with impeccably-styled hair. “Thank you, Alexandra, for arranging that.”
He sighed deeply. His mother was nothing if not efficient, and the staff adored her for treating them like family. He really could take a page out of her book.
The rest of the morning passed without incident, then lunch, and then it was back to the portrait room to meet the artist. Roxas was expecting an older guy with white hair and glasses perched on his nose, someone who had been painting longer than Roxas had been alive. There’d been a few men and women like that who’d painted him over the years, masters at their craft who were impossibly old. Who would it be this time? Sir Hokusai? Lady Cassatt? Sir Jacques-Louis David?
His eyes flickered to the portrait from last year, still hanging proudly on the wall. He was seated on his stallion Hengroen, about to ride into battle. Something he’d never actually done but what he’d been training all his life for. Sir David had painted that one. Maybe it would be Sir Hokusai this year.
There was a hesitant knock. “Come in,” he called, and a moment later, the door creaked open.
He wasn’t prepared for the beauty that floated into the room. Her golden hair cascaded down her shoulder, her blue and yellow dress was simple but elegant, and in her hands she held a sketchpad, pencils, and paints.
Wait, she was the artist? She wasn’t who Roxas had been expecting at all!
“Are you gonna be painting me?” he said, then winced at how stupid the question was. What else would she be doing here?
She just smiled shyly and nodded. “I am. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Prince Roxas,” she said with a bow. “My name is Naminé. I may be young, but I do have the necessary credentials.” She shuffled through her things. “Here.”
She handed Roxas her certificate of training. Apprentice artists always worked with master artists for seven years before they had a shot at becoming full artists. Then it was another seven years before they could apply for master status themselves. Her certificate indicated she’d just become a full artist this year.
She was around his age, then. A lot of apprentices went into their trades at thirteen or fourteen.
“My master couldn’t be here today,” she said, “so he asked me to come in his stead to make the initial sketches and paintings. Rest assured, I will do my very best on your portrait.”
“I have no doubt about your abilities,” Roxas said as he handed the certificate back. “You have top scores from one of the best painters in the kingdom.”
She ducked her head. “Your Highness knows the reputation of my master and even knows how to read my certification in detail?”
“It’s important I know what the lives of my future subjects are like. I want to rule them fairly when I’m king.”
She looked up, and he found himself getting lost in her eyes. He’d never seen anything like them before. Soft violet with an intensity that took his breath away.
“Yes, of course,” she said. “My apologies, Your Highness, I’ve never been around royalty before, and I’m a little flustered. But it’s an honor to be here, and—”
“Trust me, the honor is all mine.”
Her face flushed and she looked away. “Your Highness isn’t just well-educated; he’s very charming, too.”
“I don’t know about that. And you can drop the ‘Your Highness.’ Just…Call me Roxas, okay?”
Her eyes went wide. “But—”
“Please, Naminé. I promise you won’t get in trouble.”
She relaxed. “Okay.”
Roxas smiled and decided to lighten the mood further. “But enough about me, my mother wants her royal portrait, and she’s gonna get it.” He chuckled darkly. “If you think I’m charming, multiply it by ten and you’ve got an idea of how good she is at getting her way.” He thought for a moment, then added, “She always uses her powers for good though. Always to help other people, never herself.”
Naminé smiled as she set out her art supplies on a nearby table. “It sounds like you really admire her.” She selected a pencil from her repertoire like a conductor preparing to direct an orchestra. “Any requests for your portrait?”
“Please, just don’t ask me to make a stoic face like this,” he demonstrated with an exaggerated frown and stiff upper lip, making her giggle, “or make me sit in an awkward pose for hours on end like this,” he gestured, positioning himself like was sitting on horseback.
“I promise I won’t. Sounds like you’ve had to do a lot of poses other people wanted. Tell me, Roxas, what would you like?”
He thought for a moment. No one had ever really asked him that before. “Paint me the way you see me,” he finally said.
“The way I see you?” she asked, tilting her head.
“The way you see me. Not as a future king or a prince or anything like that. No, paint me like I’m a person you’d feel comfortable talking to.” He hesitated, then added, “Paint me through your eyes.”
She nodded. “Okay.”
Usually, when Roxas had to sit for his portraits for hours on end, he got bored. But watching Naminé draw was mesmerizing. The initial part of the portrait process involved a lot of sketches, and she worked like a magician wielding her wand. She asked him questions about his life, his interests, his hobbies, what made him laugh and smile. And he asked her about herself too, about what it was like to be an apprentice and grow up in the castle town.
Really, he was glad for the excuse to get to know her better, even if it was just for this portrait.
By the time she was done for the day’s session, she’d completed several sketches. As she packed up her tools, he asked, “You’ll be here again tomorrow, right?”
She smiled. “Yes, Roxas. I’ll see you then.”
The next few weeks went by like this, and seeing her was the highlight of his day. He couldn’t wait to talk to her, laugh with her, smile at her. When at last they reached the sessions where she started painting him, she kept the canvas hidden from him.
“I want you to be surprised,” she explained, a twinkle in her eye.
He just sighed and gazed happily at her. He would’ve done anything she asked of him.
A few more weeks of this passed until one morning, Roxas strode into the portrait room expecting to find Naminé, but instead he found the finished portrait. A light blanket was draped over it, and on the blanket was a note.
Here’s your portrait, Roxas. I hope you like it! I’m sorry I couldn’t be here in person to show you, but I’ve been called away on another assignment. Please send word to my master if there are any changes you’d like.
As he removed the blanket with shaking fingers, his mouth dropped open. This was the best portrait anyone had ever painted of him. Naminé had a masterful sense of light and color, and her brushstrokes were bold and fluid. But that wasn’t what caught his attention or made his heart race. It was how she’d painted him that took his breath away. The delight in his eyes, the smile on his face, the faint blush dusting his cheeks…Was this how she saw him?
Was this how he looked at her?
He wasn’t sure how long he’d been staring at the painting when his mother entered the room.
“I knew I made the right choice in requesting a young lady,” she said, beaming. She wrapped an arm around him and squeezed his shoulder. “This portrait is fantastic. It’ll be perfect for the invitations to the ball.”
He searched her eyes. “Wait, you requested Naminé?”
“Not Naminé in particular, but a young lady, yes. I figured it was about time we got a different perspective.” She looked at the portrait again and grinned. “I’d say you’re quite taken with her, and she with you.”
Roxas gulped. Was it possible Naminé liked him too? Well, only one way to find out.
“I want to invite her to the ball.”
His mother’s eyebrows shot up. “She’s an artisan, not of noble blood.”
“I don’t care. I want to see her again.”
His mother studied him for a few moments, then laughed and ruffled his hair. “You’re as stubborn as your father,” she said, her voice full of affection. “I can see you have your heart set on this girl. Alright, we’ll invite all the eligible young maidens in the kingdom so she can come too.”
The night of the ball, Roxas couldn’t calm the fluttery feeling in his stomach. Would Naminé come? He wanted to see her again, more than anything.
As he paced the halls waiting for the guests to arrive, his mother laughed and put a hand on his shoulder. “Roxas, calm down. She’ll be here.”
“And in the meantime,” his father added, “remember you are a host and must entertain all your guests.”
“Right,” Roxas said, fiddling with his eagle mask. As much as he wanted to focus on Naminé completely, he had his duties to attend to. As the guests trickled in, he did his best to compliment everyone’s costumes. But he couldn’t help but search for the person he most wanted to see. Even when he was dancing with the other young ladies, he couldn’t help but dream of dancing with Naminé.
But as the hours went by, he began to lose hope. Maybe he’d just imagined the way she smiled at him. Maybe she was just doing her job and he’d read too much into things. Maybe it was foolish to wish she’d come just to see him.
Just as he was about to give up, however, there was a great stirring at the top of the balcony. Everyone turned to look at what the commotion was about, and Roxas’s heart pounded and his mouth went dry.
Naminé was there, wearing a dress so shimmering and beautiful she looked like an angel. Her golden hair drifted down her shoulders in gentle waves, glitter adorned her face in the shape of a mask, and gossamer wings extended from her back. He removed his mask so he could more easily see her…and so she could see him. Their eyes met, and when she smiled, he knew he would be happy to look at her and her alone for the rest of his life. As he strode to her and she glided to him, all his carefully-planned words fled his mind.
When at last they’d reached each other, she smiled shyly. “We meet again. Sorry I’m late. My costume took a bit longer to finish than I was expecting.”
He cleared his throat, the heat creeping up his cheeks as he tried to get his brain to form coherent thoughts. “Um, you look…you look…really beautiful.” Her smile got bigger, and now he really couldn’t think clearly anymore. “Your costume is amazing,” he heard himself say, the words tumbling out of his mouth before he could stop them. “I could never make something like it, er, I mean, I can only imagine how much time and effort it took you to make it.” He cringed over how much he was fumbling, but at least he remembered his manners well enough to add, “Thank you for coming.”
She blushed and ducked her head. “Thank you for asking, I’m honored to be here. Though I must admit, I was a little surprised when I got the invitation.”
“Why? The moment I saw the finished portrait, I knew I had to ask.”
“I just painted you the way I see you, that’s all.”
"You’re too modest.” Roxas smiled and offered his hand. “You’ve shown them the way you see me. Now I want to show them the way I see you. Please, may I have this dance?”
Her lips parted and her eyes went wide, then she smiled and took his hand.
“Yes.”
A/N: A big, big thank you to everyone who made RokuNami zine possible! I really enjoyed modding the project and working with you all, it was wonderful seeing all the love and passion for RokuNami ❤️ And thank you to everyone who bought the zine and supported the charity RedRover ❤️
Also, thank you to @scoobysnack1107 and @angel-with-a-pipette for reading over the story for me and offering feedback and suggestions ❤️
And a big thank you to @ao-kagi for collaborating with me and drawing the beautiful banner art 🥺 ❤️ It captures Roxas and Naminé’s playful joy and instant chemistry so well, and I really enjoyed working with you ❤️ I love the costume designs you chose as well and then the brushes you used for the textures, it all looks fantastic!
Last but not least, thank you all for reading! I had a lot of fun with this one, especially with the references to famous artists (all I want now is to see a ridiculous portrait of Roxas riding a horse a la Napoleon Crossing The Alps lol). And then the ballroom scene at the end was inspired by Cinderella 2015 and Ever After, those entrance scenes are so magical, and I hope to have captured a little of that magic.
Thank you again everyone!
It’s really sad to see how often Maria Koshkaryova fans try to put down Sofya Valiullina, and the other way around. That is especially happening in YouTube comments and it’s such a pity. I was watching the Bolshoi rehearsal for the World Ballet Day and it’s so cute to see them gravitate towards each other in between floor combinations and sometimes just whisper together in a corner. They seem to have been best friends since childhood and moved together to a new city, likely all alone. They must be such comfort to each other through all these new challenges. I get it, the spots at the top are limited but I just really wish people would stop acting like the fact that one is doing well is somehow harming the other one. They actually like each other and that is lovely. Sorry, not a question, just something that has been on my mind for a while.
Aww that is a bummer. I haven’t really read the YouTube comments. I’m 100% sure they’re basically sisters and you’re right, I’m sure they are each other’s confidante.
Growing up in a ballet school is really interesting. You have to support each other, help each other for exams and performances, you learn how to do everything together like how to put on makeup! But you’re also competing for roles, the center spot at the barre, the attention of your teachers. There are definitely times when you get jealous of your peers, hold grudges when they get the solo you wanted. So you’re friends, but also competitors, and you can push each other to great heights.
I can’t help but wonder how much of that dynamic changes when graduates start their professional career. Is it the same? Are there more/less opportunities to both get good roles? I’m sure the competition will always be there but I’m willing to bet it’s more intense in school than in the company.
I feel like the 2018/2019 graduates are all still very close. A lot of them get the same roles. I think Anastasia Nuikina and Alexandra Khiteyeva have a lot of overlap with repertoire but they’re very good friends! I imagine it will be the same for Sofya and Masha 💕
jewel, as the no.1 taennie supporter here lmao. in your dream world, who are some idols/celebrities you want to see bts to date
no.1 taennie supporter is a title i wear with honor 😭
this is really hard to answer bc there are cool celebrities that exist that i know nothing about!! and even tho i love(d) taennie i wouldn’t have picked that pairing so stick with me here:
namjoon — no specific celeb in mind, but a vibe: i’d love to see him in a relationship like keanu reeves & alexandra grant. she is so cool both as a person and an artist and he is her biggest fan. they’re so smitten with one another and it is just so lovely to see. someone creative on their own that can teach him and indulge his interests. intellectual in their own way. supportive.
seokjin — another vibe: you remember how we all found out andy samberg was married to thee joanna newsom and were like what??? but it makes complete sense. they seem so different on paper (andy is… well, andy 🤷🏻‍♀️ and joanna is like this cool harp-playing folk musician) but that’s why it works. someone who matches his energy is also great (please give me jin & dahyun for real i beg) but in my dream world he gets his own harp player.
yoongi — he’s already in a committed relationship with yijeong in my delulu mind sorry no one else is allowed in. you don’t post cat memes like that abt one another unless you’re IN LOVE.
hobi — i thought the rumors of him & irene kim were cute 😭 but this one is hard bc there’s no specific person or vibe i can think of for him. an animal lover, someone who also has a kind of freak aura (like 28 reasons seulgi vibe???), into fashion. someone better than me at celebrities pls tell me if this person exists.
jimin — and if i said jeongyeon??? [dodges tomatoes] jimin is another hard one for me. i feel like he’d be open to just about anything which makes it difficult.
taehyung — i’m still fragile ok 🥲 absolutely power couple vibes tho whoever he winds up with.
jungkook - han so hee!!! HAN SO HEE!!!!!!!
