Morning Photography

Empty beer bottles lay lonely and over-cuddled on the kitchen table, the lounge room floor, and near the recycle bin.

Semi-naked and numb from the cold, you wake up next to the love of your life, snoring deeply and looking deathly pale.

Unaware that your lover is waking up, you dash for the toilet, have a quick wash, and start walking on the crunchy grass.

Waking up, you realise the robe chord is a bit loose and there is more on display from the rear than you first thought.

The snapping sound seems distant, yet after thirty or so seconds, you turn around to see your lover snapping your buns.

Initially pissed off, several semi-dark thoughts races through your head until you let it all go, take your robe off, and pose.

The past few weeks of being an unofficial photographer for events has me really... thinking.

I am a good photographer. Some might say excellent, in certain subjects. I'm not the best in all areas, but I do understand action photography. This is something that I've learned over time. Its not unobtainable, but it does take practice.

But you know what sets me apart?

I tag the performers. I tag the event they were taken at. I find a way to make sure the performers get to see them.

I have been on stage three times, which is not many. All three times, there have been a photographer in the stands with a very nice camera and I can hear the shutter going. In addition to that, there have been many, many people taking video with their phones.

But they never reach us.

Something that you can do as an ameteur that every performer appreciates is letting them know that their photos were taken, and that they can access them easily. It does not matter the quality. We appreciate ANY photos.

So if you're at a thing and you're taking footage, please think about tagging that performer.

I've tried being a dancer and a photographer at the same time and it is... very difficult.

I want to document my time in Japan but I don't want to be another vlogger, plus I hate editing but enjoy writing and ameteur photography. If I manage to be consistent with updates I'd like to share cool places and great restaurants, as well as language and travel tips, for a city that's off the main tourist path. I don't think Tumblr is accessible enough to people off-site, but I worry that people on here wouldn't follow a link to another blogging platform. I'd appreciate some input before I go setting up a bunch of accounts :)
