i forgot how delightful it feels to finish an episode of succession. like the adrenalines high and i’m psyched for the next episode - but it also completely warps my train of thought. i’m trying to fit a huge ass tub of tomato sauce in the fridge and i’m saying shit like, “is this the best deal? am i getting fucked here?” i can hear nicholas britell’s epic melodies while i’m counting meatballs.

BARK BARK ITS FINALLY TIME FOR THE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME CAPER
not giving up on my trademark of being late for csweekly even though i vowed i wouldn't be late on this one. i have an excuse. i was doing audition prep/submission for a musical
OKAY ANYWAY
Tumblr media
i think if i ever actually visited the belltower i would take damage just from being in the space
notes under the cut as always!
OKAY starting thoughts. this is. literally my favorite episode in the entire show. my favorite. im so fucking stoked you don't even know i love watching my blorbos get beat up. me 🤝rueitae
anyways. biting this episode and shaking it violently
i like that the faculty tie actually makes sense and they have solid motivations. it isnt just a plot device for a tie
Tumblr media
love this shiot/angle of bellum btw so behold her. she is so amazing
okay hi. immediately stopping to go on a rant about the atmosphere in this caper. its. fucking. incredible. the scenery is so perfect. the right balance of beautiful and desolate, and it changes as the mood does. i could do this later but i will do it now because idk i want to its my post
notice as the episode goes on how as the tone gets darker in carmen's plotline, the scenery and mood around her gets colder and literally darker as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ivy's backgrounds, meanwhile, stay pretty light throughout because she has somewhat of a more comedic and hopeful storyline while carmen dies in a ditch somewhere.
also, as soon as carmen calls chief, the snow/light of the hologram/shot composition away from the dark trees shows that there is hope now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
just....hope that is tinted with cop fingerprints all over it. i just GOD i fucking LOVE how you can VISUALLY SEE HOW HER LIFE IS GOING its reflected by the very environment around her. compare any shot after she gets acme in to the very last one i put in that set of five.
no moment is darker for carmen than when she gives up, on the brink of death, and calls for help, submitting herself to prison and interrogation in the hopes that even if vile wins today, she can somehow survive to take them down again another day.
man, i am barely a minute into the actual episode and i have a lot to say. that trend will continue. sorry not sorry. back to the actual liveblogging.
fun fact the first time i watched this episode i did not notice the acme agents on top of the building watching "carmen"
i love the little hints dropped to audience members who arent entirely in the know yet (7 year olds) that its ivy, not carmen, and that something is up here. lack of gigantic poofy brown hair, different stature, ivys little smile as she goes past. of course, if you're obsessive like me, youve memorized every characters outline and can tell even with wigs on
OH hey my favorite acme agent hang on
Tumblr media
its her. she is drop dead gorgeous and has a nose piercing. she also i think gets all of one line in the s4 opener telling crackle to do whatever (or maybe its her partner but anyway i love her)
I have already earned from her
have you been GAY for twenty years chief? julia has
julia slays so hard in this episode. wish devineaux stayed dead longer because she thrives when she's by herself
Tumblr media
episode is literally so gorgeous
i love zari just being like oh my god this bitches gay. bad for them
that soft little "i should have known" smile julia does when carmen puts her hand on her shoulder guts me like an animal
Tumblr media
live acme (ants to classify and monitor evildoers) reaction
hey!! next time ivy gets into a frozen adventure with carmen in germany she gets an earbud upgrade :D
zack too!!
that "but powerful" line is literally gay. happy pride month from ivy "muscles" "milady" "i feel powerful dressing in my girlfriend's clothing" lastname
obsessed with zack's little finger wiggles to emulate typing when he imitates player
i love just how. rrgh casual they are. yes carmen is super serious and focused this caper (for good reason. launch codes) but they get in a little. julia notices something small about carmen and that she's cold and the playful tone in the reply from carmen before everything kind of goes to shit. "had to loan my coat once I spotted your reinforcements!" its just a bit of information but its some that she trusts julia with. she asks julia if chief is listening but if she was. carmen would have already blown ivy's cover. i know she stole the pen for good measure but seriously she TRUSTS her
i love how julia pats her jacket and then does not react in the slightest she was just making sure that was HER pen not someone else's
ivy being horrible in snow gag is the best part of this episode
i love julia showing off. she doesnt get to infodump to anyone else but she knows carmen will appreciate it. and shes trying to be coy about knowing what carmen is there to do (sorry jules. you would have been right any other time)
i also like that as julia is infodumping shes absorbing MORE by walking backwards and gazing around the city hall
fun fact: i always wondered how the hell the acme agents got into/hid in the hall without anyone seeing them but there are doors in between all of those pillars!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also
Tumblr media
this hallway does in fact exist! i mean considering the cs team probably went there to location scout in person (see below picture of duane and the team in san fran) it makes sense!!
Tumblr media
anyway. should i made an "only vaguely related tangents" tally counter for these things at the end of the post lmao
i love how super serious carmen gets here. this episode is so much more mature in its theming than some other episodes. from the launch codes to the fakeout suicide to the continued death before capture thing carmen has going on. man. i cant tell if ivys comic relief section is good for lightheartedness or tonal whiplash lmao
Tumblr media
she has for a split second the look of a mother who just heard her child say "i frew up"
ARGH and i also love how literally nothing julia can say in that time will help. she tries- oh, she tries- but "its not what you think" mistakenly sounds like she was still in on it. it looks, for the moment, like julia was trying to distract her or this acme agent missed her cue or something. of course later in the ep carmen has plennnty of time
interestingly cs does away with the doors in between the pillars for a more ethereal and sophisticated look but there are doors in my heart
i love how carmen turns to run sideways. girl even if there weren't acme agents there where were you going
i also just fucking love carmen's completely silent analysis once shit gets really serious. she calculates and recalculates what she needs to do to survive here. and she's RUTHLESS about it. i think this is kind of the one time we really see her vile training come out in comparison to someone other than vile itself. she takes those acme agents OUT
part of me wonders if carmen, in that little pause by the door, thought that maybe her chances were better backtracking but she didn't want to have to hurt jules to get out. maybe im just gay and wistful idk BUT okay here's my reasoning!! hang on! stay with me!! carmen equals BAD in tight spaces. saw it in rio, saw it in nz, saw it in poitiers. its everywhere- she does better with more space. however, she does like her high grounds, so honestly this is pure headcanon but like,,, not wanting to hurt julia. send post
also you can see in the background julia TAKING OFF after the other agents....no gun drawn of course
Tumblr media
this fight scene with carmen is so fucking fantastic
she never. NEVER. EVER does full fight scenes where she does a lot of offensive but this situation is so different. she SPRINTS at that bitch she holds him HOSTAGE and while of course she's acting so that she doesn't get caught the fight almost portrays her a little villainously with the trail of bodies she leaves behind her as she goes
ALSO THAT FLIP OFF THE WALL MOVE IS SO DAMN COOL. she tricks the acme agent into gassing herself almost effortlessly and only takes a split second to coldly look behind her to make sure there's no one else coming before she takes off again
and then the other three who didnt get knocked out start going after her again which distracts her just enough to let zari catch her with the shot
the shaky "camera" and blurred vision pov as carmen fades in and out of consciousness while instinct alone keeps her going up the stairs is just ARGH chefs kiss
fun fact zari's "there after her" line gets reused in the series finale
btw carmen falling of the tower scared me so bad when i first watched this at like 13. suicide fakeout <3 scared me so bad
Tumblr media
also how the camera keeps moving even when carmen doesnt even seem to be in the picture anymore before her glider catches up with it. top. tier
and then the stockholm music kicks in. hoo mama the music in this episode is fucking unparalleled. that incessant, chilling, repetitive string instrument motif as carmen's situation begins to get really dire. aurgh.
carmen's continued pov as player starts getting really concerned about her and she fades in and out. carmen weaving all over the sky and crashing into shit grggrgrgr its so good
ivy getting tazed. yeah.
ivy can pass as an....argentinian.. right boys
player and zack when two out of four of their active teammates just went mia in the span of a minute: 👁️👄👁️
man do you think they thought it was an ambush or something. like i mean it was but an organized effort by one team. do you think zack was scared he would be next and that player would be left in the dark. anyway
the way moose picks ivy up by the scruff like a cat kills me
the citizens of stockholm on this day watching a foreign police strike happen at city hall and then a tourist get tazed, mugged, and kidnapped by some locals: 👁️👄👁️
IN WITH THE HIGH NOTES ON THE PIANO IN THAT SAME REPETITIVE, INCESSANT, CHILLING STYLE OF MUSIC THIS EPISODE HAS AS CARMNE LIES MOTIONLESS IN THE SNOW ARGEHDHDHGDGSDGSDHD
i really enjoy that they show us this desolate, still shot of carmen, completely motionless, trapped in a ravine, miles and miles away from the city. she doesnt wake up. its just the cold, harsh reality. and its starting to snow a lot harder.
julia just snatching the pen gets me every time
i love the emotion dropping out of chiefs tone once she sees the 5'2" pissed off lesbian on the other end
YES julia GO OFF she should have gotten to do so much more. she should have gotten to kill someone.
julia glancing back at zari when she says "chase her away and squander her trust" and zari turning away and balling her first is such a juicy little character moment
the venom in "we had an agreement." fhrjhgfejsjjd step on me
you know how people want that throwback spinoff series for the owl house with the lost moments. that but cs. shadowsan's malaysia mission, how the team operated and the jobs while carmen was recovering, more of black sheep's time at vile/her holdover year, her and player learning together once she tours around after escaping, the shanghai job (not the tsonts one), the cairo job, the swiss bank job. how julia got into law, how chase chose his name, more on carlotta and dexter, the two years after vile's defeat and before their reappearance, more of evil carmen, player's backstory as told in silver lion. there is. so much i want to see. tangent tally.
god. player's decision here is such a hard one. he's like sixteen, and he's potentially juggling the lives of two of his best friends with that line. the decision seems obvious, but in this case it is completely, entirely wrong. player's choice to save ivy instead of carmen damn near kills her, and there's no way he could have known. player guilt angst, please!
once again the music. thank you.
carmen's cry of pure pain as she moves juuust tickles something in my brain. she has no one to put on a brave face for and that crash landing HURT.
also how hoarse her voice is
the more groans of pain as she forces herself off the ground they are so good.
i love this episode for its look into carmen's psyche. so much of her is playing off of others, but in this one she is utterly alone. we see her thought processes in the worst of times with no one to fight but the weather and herself. fantastic shit. never forgiving sarcastic chorus for skimming over this episode and saying nothing happens did you watch it
the puff of breath when carmen says "player"!!!
carmen's tone when she goes "oookay." just is so good. gina did not skimp out on this performance and part of me wonders if she could have done better if she wasnt always trying to play the emotionless, suave hero figure and she let carmen be more human, like in this episode. carmen is seeing that she is injured, acme is trying to reach her, her glider is broken, she has no protection from the cold, and that player and any other help is completely out of range and she is not happy about it
carmen crying out when she slips even more when she's trying to climb its so tangible and delicious
FUN ANECODTE because i havent gone on enough tangents for this post already but the first time i ever saw this episode my dad came to pick me up for his half of the week right here. i had to leave the episode right here, with ivy kidnapped and mia and carmen alone in the frozen ravine, the acme pen blinking. i didnt have access to netflix to finish the episode. for. four. days. let me tell you. um. this episode literally did not let me sleep. that first night i was lying in bed i stayed up until like 3am just staring at the ceiling replaying the scenes and making theories. i was dry in the mouth. when i fell asleep i dreamed about it and kept waking up in the middle of the night. i cornered my dad and recounted the entire episode to him and then reeled off my theories to him. i reeled off my theories to my friends. i was literally consumed by the ending of this episode that i could not see. it was Not Healthy and it impacted me VERY HEAVILY as you can see.
but anyway my one theory was that carmen was going to be forced to call acme for help and be arrested because they kept doing closeups on the pen. good job, thirteen year old me. the foreshadowing worked.
back to the episode
ivys literally so cute in this episode
Tumblr media
look at her.
ottoman has chihuahua vibes
the ice lodge staff watching two guys drag some poor red haired white bitch into the hotel like a sack of potatos: im sure shes fine they probably told them she was drunk lmao
im goosebumping something wicked here is one of the phrases of all time
DUMSKALLE
that raw, desperate "no" and scream from carmen is so good. that fall hurt five thousand times more because it was a failure. and also she probably just broke all the ribs that weren't broken before
it took me a few watches originally to see that carmen hits her glider on the way down. first time around i was like where tf did she get that wack ass blanket
Tumblr media
draw me like one of your moose boys
moose boy unironically seems like a nice guy who got dragged into this by otter
can you imagine if they showed up with ivy and were like HAHA. CARMEN SANDIEGO. what would the faculty do with this poor white girl who is definitely not carmen. probably wipe her memory and boot out otter and moose but can you imagine their reactions
MOOSE BOY IS VOICED BY SONIC THE HEDGEHOG?? SCREAMING
or maybe it was right here that i got cut off with the panning shot of the pen and carmen sitting away from it staring at it. whatever it was but anyway yeah
the sadness and defeat as carmen shivers and tells this imaginary chief that vile is winning today either way just kills me i love it so much. carmen's death before capture ideology (almost. capture wins but it almost doesnt)
LAUNCH CODES? AS IN NUCYULAH?
also team red. didnt know what was on the data crystal!! they didnt know what the handoff was!!! they just knew it was fucking serious and that makes this all the more scary. had ivy not gotten kidnapped they would have missed it. i mean carmen would have probably tried to drag her foot on deaths doorstep ass over to the ice lodge to try anyway but she would have gotten triple pulverized
someone swinging (insert wieldy object) at a gigantic villain and it doing nothing is my favorite battle trope
more ivy appreciation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she said NOPE
Tumblr media
ivy is literally so cool in this episode. she's still herself but she's trying to channel carmen and fill her gigantic shoes by making her proud. but she isnt carmen, and thats okay. she ends up doing it with a mix of carmen's help and her own goofy, clumsy style
AND IVYS TWANGY LITTLE VERSION OF CARMENS THEME AS SHE SUITS UP. ITS AWESOME
again. ivy being terrible on ice gag is the best. winters in boston must have been torture
man it doesnt even show all of it but you can see the agonizing that went into carmen's decision to call acme. once she makes it she doesnt hesitate in grabbing and clicking it. she does it seamlessly and with resignation. shes already fought with herself enough in her own head.
carmen: literally in the middle of the woods, shaking like a travelling fair rollercoaster ride, and bleeding from a thousand cuts chief: oh hey! sorry about that
MAN CARMEN THREW THAT PEN A LONG WAY
i also like that carmen has to heave herself up from sitting, and that she's only standing as a last display of control when every other ounce of it has been ripped from her. she has to lean on the tree, still, even to manage it. as soon as she pushes off of that tree and starts walking towards chief she collapses.
chief those business negotiations. can you wait
i do appreciate that chief doesnt play dumb or think carmen is dumb. she's been calling that pen for as long as carmens been staring at it. she knows carmen knows what calling her means and doesnt try to hide that theyre coming for her.
haha. where in the world is carmen sandiego reference. get it
MAN AND THEN EVERYTHING GETS SOO BAD. you realize just how serious this is when carmen drops the tough act and just reaches out. she does a quip, but her face is just hopeless and she drops like a STONE. she was barely hanging on. already dumped this onto rueitae's post but i think that as soon as she knew she'd done everything she could do and had exhausted every single option except dying on the spot. well. she didnt have a reason to hang on anymore. she gave up every single ounce of control to chief when she clicked that pen and her body needed to shut down to save her. so so so good
i really really like chief running over and hesitating before she puts her "hand" on carmens shoulder. she knows she cant do anything, but she can pretend and she can hope
i really do think she was concerned about carmen here, not just about the intel she was potentially losing. this scene mirrors her past with wolfe nearly perfectly, and it NEVER gets talked about. once again a call chief made on a person who turned out to have innocent intentions (gun was really car keys, julia going off the grid was really just her and carmen talking it out) gets them killed- or, in carmen's case, almost. chief, this time, has the power to save her and fix this mistake. parallels are also fun because obviously carmen is wolfe's daughter so double angst.
ivy immediately switching to suspicious spy face after she slams into the bar is so funny
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW OFTEN I USED TO JUST RANDOMLY SAY "hello, im shady mcshade from some sleazy rogue nation, check out my briefcase full of untraceable cash!" to just RANDOM PEOPLE IN MY LIFE with NO CONTEXT
the bartender is not paid enough for this
I LOVE THE LADY WHO JUST GETS TF OUTTA THERE WHEN IVY CRASHES INTO HER CHAIR
the little trill of carmens triumph theme when ivy looks at the grappling hook is so good
girl. ivy. you missed that REALLY BADLY for someone who threw an anchor up three stories with pinpoint accuracy like a couple years ago
poor ivy she was doing so well with the quips and the competence until she announced it to the entire ice lodge
Tumblr media
warrior cats girls on the playground
ivys unhinged scream as she barells towards otter is so fantastic
it would really have super sucked if zack had run ivy over
Tumblr media
again. this episode is so beautiful
i love that otter and moose would normally have never even been glanced at for an episode because they suck so bad but because it was untrained baby ivy (who still kicked their asses) they could be there also who assigned them the nuclear fucking launch codes. who did that
oh man you can see the smile drop off ivys face when zack asks where they can find carmen. she doesnt even think that carmen is still missing. she probably thinks carmens back on track by now, not that it would be HOURS later and shes still missing.
zack getting to ivy on the other side of stockholm: 🐌🐌🐌 zack getting to carmen twice as far away in the middle of the woods: 🦔 (too lazy to find sonic meme. sonic meme.)
julia just giving zari the most disappointed look when zari kicks carmen when shes down
FUN FACT OF THE DAY! in the original storyboards, julia and zari were supposed to get a SHOOKETH reaction shot when chief offers carmen a way out with z and i. they cut it. rude.
the pen lowering down to reveal julia behind it has always felt like such an important shot and i dont know why. like theres some symbolism im majorly missing out on there
ahh, the heartbroken look between friends
AGAIN this episode punches you like an elephant on steroids with that quiet "is she going to make it?" CARMEN IS ON THE BRINK. OF DEATH. AND HER FRIENDS ARENT EVEN CERTAIN SHES GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT. MAN. it raises the stakes up so high like obviously she wont die but in a tvy7 kids cartoon this is so fucking serious
carmen, delirious with the cold and pain, wondering if someone made a clone of her:
addressing all groups of people from now on as "student body most vile"
hey vile has a sick waterfall wall
it is really interesting that they do in fact shut down the academy. no one is allowed at the castle anymore once they move there. its also cool that in s4 because bellum doesnt have to be there teaching she can go to the himalayas and tinker full time!
wow. zuko and luz are in that crowd <3
okay. so. best episode ever. i love it so much and ive already gushed about it way too much so i wont keep you much longer.
tangent tally final count: like at least five it depends how specific you are
sorry about how long this is take it up with a brick wall it will be remorseful than me

WHAT THE FUCK
here's my little thing on good omens two (i just finished it less than a minute ago)
i write my reactions to stuff but it won't make sense bc i didn't write what was going on just like. what i thought. SPOILERS BTW
GREAT SHOW like amazing like fuck
i was actually sobbing at the end there
um. let's go by episode (photos of thoughts at the bottom)
[chapter one: the arrival] LOVELY opening like the entire scene was so cool and the lighting was incredible and it reminded me of the song meteor shower (cavetown) ((yeah i'll be making an animatic what about it)) also THE WING PARALLEL IVE ALREADY MADE A POST ABOUT IT BUT LIKE. OMG??? the intro happens and that is so so cool i was ENTRANCED and side note, when it's raining hearts (love that btw) the star cluster behind the makes a silhouette of a person (gabriel?) but idk if i'm just looking too much,, lmao. ok so present day we meet maggie and nina and i love them so much and they are very cute together. also ducks. also hi gabriel. also hi shax. the queen in the background of the coffee shop was very neat. i need to learn the i was wrong dance. OVERALL super cool episode and i loved it
[chapter two: the clue] loving the beard it's a moment, again this entire show is a masterpiece like the lighting and the everything is so interesting. we hear everyday (great song) and also crowley not killing the children but turning them into lizards is the most crowley thing i would expect of him tbh. i loved it. also by 2500 B.C. he said the angel pet name and i was living for it !! also YES aziraphale and crowley playing matchmaker is so fun. Job was great tbh. also zira lying to a room full of angels was amazing,, also the way zira was like 'it's our car' SHUT UPPP i love him so much it's so cute 💔💔 then also i think i saw the good omens book at one point maybe. THE OUTRO SLAYS AS PER USUAL.
[chapter three: i know where i'm going] I LOVE JIMS MUG (i want to make one) also,, muriel is probably my favorite side character in this season, I HATE LINDSAY (who doesn't) also the gabriel statue is so funny 2 me.. the whole crowley poisoning himself was great i'm assuming demons get like,, drunk on poison ig. not many notes on this episode tbh, great one tho
[chapter four: the hitchhiker] ok first off I LOVE MOONLIGHT SERENADE great song,, hi shax,, back to the nazi church i guess. mycroft holmes is a zombie now. nothing i can do,, also ZIRA CALLED THEM FRIENDS AW,, also i was SO SCARED at the magic show and crowley was shaking so badly omg T-T THE MIRRORS that was a great scene and i called the photo switch hehe. also ritz parallel at some point. lovely episode, again not much notes
[chapter five: the ball] this episode was so so fun i loved the dancing and the shenanigans also SHAX WHO NEEDS TEN THOUSAND DEMONS TO STORM A BOOK SHOP cmon,, also i thought nina would try and get crowley and zira together (im a master of predictions) also yeah lovely little scenes and OUT THE WINDOW you go gabriel. I LOVE YOU MURIEL also wait and seeeeeee,, the bookshop-turned-ballroom was beautiful tbh (don't think i missed those stares thru the window anthony janthony crowley) the demons showing up was so so cool, INEFFABLE HUSBANDS DANCING??? EE!! also t-o-s-t-e is great,, so is gabriel's coat omg,, NOW CROWLEY IS GOING TO HEAVEN?? lovely lovely episode
[chapter six: every day] SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP the love in this episode is RADIANT and girl,, i can't handle it. also MAGGIE i know you didn't think but cmon,,, also CROWLEY AS AN ANGEL WITH THE GOLDEN SNAKE WAS SO FUN,, the intro was so cool and the guitar was so queen-sounding idk how to put it. the halo was. SO COOL. also i called it gabriel FELL RAHHHHHHH i'm so great. shax you did NOT body shame zira bro. you did NOT. the trial was so interesting btw,, it was such a cool scene. bye bye demons! then zira starts a war?? unexpected. beez and gabe are SO CUTE TOGETHER i love them??? with all my heart?? they have a song. THEY HAVE A SONG. also the little dinner date parallels with zira and crowley to beez and gabe i was so happy. also THEY HELP HANDS OMGGGG ! alpha centauri reference was so sweet tbh. [a line from my notes: zira you're looking at crowley like he put the stars in the sky (he did but yk)] also nina and maggie talking to crowley was so sweet they gave him the push he needed 😭😭 also SHUT UP NINA CALLED MAGGIE ANGEL I WAS GONNA SOB and then crowley tried to confess and then aziraphale said the thing about them becoming angels and at that point i was already crying a little bit. i was so devastated when crowley mentioned the nightingales. started crying more. YHEN THEY KISSED I WAS FULL ON SOBBING AT THAT POINT FORWARD i was shaking so hard i thought i would die on the spot. then i got mad at zira for NOT GOING BACK FOR CROWLEY SHUT THE FUCK UP and the nightingale song biiiitch,, then it ended
now i'm very numb and will be spending the weekend going thru episodes and taking photos of cool things I CANNOT WAIT FOR SEASON THREE

But I'm A Cheerleader! (Aja x Farrah) - Millie
A/N: hey there! This is my first time submitting a fic here, and I hope you guys like it. I was incredibly surprised that no one has thought of a cheerleader AU after the second episode aired, so I had to write one! (Btw the title bears no resemblance to the movie with the same name) I’m sorry if this chapter is boring or cheesy since it’s the first. Please bear with me! P.S.: i created a blog to keep track of my fics, @artificialmillie because I do plan to write more on here.
“I’m Aja; I’m sassy!”
“I’m Nina; I’m assy!”
“I’m Shea; I’m flirty!”
“I’m Sasha; I’m dirty!”
“I’m Charlie; I’m boozy!”
“I’m Jaymes; I’m snoozy…!”
“I’m Alexis… and I’m a floozy!”
All the girls had opened out into a triangle, Alexis staged right in the middle with three girls either side of her. They all sported short, purple, pleated skirts with tight-fitting shirts, and of course their signature white bows atop their heads. The RuPaul Glamazons had come to slay this football season.
“We are RuPaul’s Glamazons, got our cheering panties on,” they chanted in perfect unison. “Our beat is unstoppable; our hair is unclockable!” After their short chant they skipped away for the B-52 Bombers to take the floor in their almost matching uniforms. Bitches.
This rivalry had lasted almost two years. Both teams attended the same school, Tuckahoe High School, and most only joined the cheerleading squad to get a front-row view of the star football players. God, they were hot. All the girls had a particularly good time on the football field, except they were in the gym hall today for their final practice. Tomorrow they were debuting their new cheers in support of the guys as they battled it out for the winning prize - bragging rights. Oh, and a trophy.
“Alright, work it, work it, alright!” the Bombers chanted, clapping their hands together and walking - except Farrah, who was skipping - to the centre to begin. Their red-orange outfits were stoned for the Gods, despite Kimora’s lengthy complaining and telling them “stoning is for ugly girls”. Instead of white bows they rocked orange ones, and their hair was voluminous and tied back instead of loose and wild like the Glamazons’.
“B-52 Bombers, let’s go!” Cynthia, who was the leader of the team, shouted. She had competed the longest, and was no stranger to a football game. She led the Bombers with professionalism and poise.
“I’m Cu-Cu; I’m naughty!”
“I’m Kimora; I’m slutty!”
“I’m Eureka; I’m wacky!”
“I’m Trinity; I’m tacky!”
“I’m Farrah; I’m thorny!”
“I’m Peppermint; I’m corny!”
“I’m Valentina - I’m also corny!” The Glamazons giggled at her from the side of the gym.
“Our lobsters are rocking, our love is in the shack; we’re roaming ‘cause we wanna, so haters step back!” they shouted together. Their cheer didn’t even make that much sense - the Glamazons were ready to strike back.
“B-50-who? Not as cool as Ru. RuPaul is more fierce than Kate could ever be. More woman than Fred and more man than Cindy!” They clapped their pom-poms together and smirked as the Bombers took great offense to their chant. But they weren’t afraid to be just as rude.
“RuPaul is shameless, selling candy bars and more. She even had a perfume and it was called Whore!” The Bombers erupted into laughter at their enemies’ shocked faces, but they weren’t expecting what was coming next.
“Your beehives - busted! Your songs are too slow. You should go retire in a private Ida… hoooooe.” They shook their asses and their pom-poms in mockery, with Charlie, Alexis, and Nina shouting at them through big plastic horns. Both teams exchanged glares, but before any violence (which happened surprisingly often) could ensue, the main football commentator was reading his lines and forcing them on to the tumbling.
Everyone got into formation, most of them at the back doing stunts and a few at the sides for when it was their turn for their solo. Every season they were sadly forced to work together to produce show-stopping performances, although it wasn’t like many people were watching them - the footballers were always the centre of attention. Nonetheless, they enjoyed what they did.
Kimora stepped forward to do a weak cartwheel and roll, followed by Peppermint doing a handspring. At the back, Alexis, Shea, and Sasha were propped up by their team and competitors, extending their arms fabulously. Eureka cartwheeled in front of them, wowing everyone as she landed in a perfect split. The Glamazons gossiped between themselves, although not in mock, but in amazement. Just as she landed, Shea was sprung into the air and landed flawlessly in her teammates’ arms, taking everyone aback with her calibre.
Valentina did a one-handed cartwheel, a roly poly, and another cartwheel, with perfect poise. Despite only doing cheerleading for ten months, she was beginning to outshine some of her teammates, which they were not taking lightly.
Charlie flopped at her cartwheel - being boozy and all, she was probably still a little drunk from the night before - and was joined by Sasha who stood on her hands as Jaymes rolled through the pair. At the back, Cynthia fell forwards into her teammates’ arms, and then was propelled again to head to the other side, all while keeping a cheery smile on her face. Luckily she was light, so it wasn’t much of an effort to keep her in the air. Now it was Shea’s solo, in which she flipped cartwheeled, and landed in a split with a sly grin on her face - a beautiful ending to the tumbling package. The commentator spoke again, and they were on to the group dance.
With Valentina and Shea at the front, and Cynthia in the centre, everyone extended their arms and jumped in the air twice. They moved their arms and legs in compelling ways, all fuelled with enthusiasm and smiles on their faces. Eventually they parted and danced together in their own teams, beginning to lift Valentina and Aja into the air before they jumped.
“5, 6, 7, 8,” Sasha started, encouraging everyone to join in.
“Glamazons, Bombers, the battle rages on. This cheer ain’t over, now bring it on!” everyone chanted. By now, everyone was in their positions for the stunting. Ready to stunt were Farrah, Trinity, Aja, and Shea, all confident with smiles on their faces, even Trinity, who was scared of heights. When they were at peak height they all extended their arms in a V-shape and propped up one leg. As soon as they were up they were back down again, and they moved into a new formation. Valentina and Jaymes were down at the front, with Alexis and Charlie supporting Shea with their legs not far behind. At the back were the other girls, keeping Farrah and Aja in the air who were supporting a shaky Trinity standing highest of all. At last, they’d finished their lengthy performance, and it’d definitely pay off tomorrow.
The girls separated and gathered together in their own teams, beginning to talk between themselves. Most of the time it was just bitching about the opposite team, but today it was happy discussions about the next day. Like every final rehearsal, there was fear laced with excitement, but most of all, happiness. After weeks and weeks of endless practising, there was finally a relief from all the hard work.
“So, guys,” Charlie began with a smile on her face. “What about a party tonight? To celebrate that we’ve finally finished.”
“Trust you to suggest a party,” Aja joked. “It’s not like you host them every weekend.”
“What? It’ll be fun. I’m inviting all the footballers - even the ones that those skanks over there are rooting for.”
“I’m down,” Alexis said.
“Me too,” Shea agreed.
“They probably have, like, ten million diseases. Half of them have probably slept with the Bombers,” Sasha argued. Everyone nodded in agreement.
“So?” Charlie responded as if there was something obvious they’d missed. “It’ll make them jealous.”
“If it makes you happy, I’ll come,” Nina said. “Jaymes?”
Jaymes jumped as if she’d been asleep, and nodded. “Charlie’s parties aren’t half bad.”
With a few people giving in, the rest of the group eventually did too. Perhaps it was a bad idea to have a party right before a tournament, but that wasn’t on their minds at this moment in time. Doing anything to spite the Bombers was, and they were going to do just that.
“PSA: it’s a white party,” Charlie said. “Come dressed accordingly.”
“Why’s it gotta be white?” Nina said.
“Why not?”
“Shouldn’t we come dressed in purple? Since that’s our team colour,” Aja countered.
“Whatever. Just be there at 9pm.”
-
Even before she entered the house, the stench of alcohol had weaved its way into Aja’s nose. House and dance music was being blasted from inside, the bass booming through the walls so you could even feel it. From the looks of it, most people had already arrived, despite it only being 9:08pm. She peered through the window to see a bunch of footballers crowding round Shea, and the rest of the Glamazons drinking from red solo cups and/or admiring the boys. Just as Charlie said, the Bombers footballers were there too.
Aja knocked at the door, and was greeted by a tipsy Charlie.
“Aja! Come in,” she said simply, grabbing her wrist and pulling her inside; it took all of her willpower not to barf at the smell of vodka that stained the air.
Inside were almost all the Glamazons and the footballers from both sides. She could sense all their gazes roaming her body, as she’d chosen a short, black latex dress that was not the most conservative. She paired her look with her cheer bow that lay on top of her freshly curled pastel purple hair, showing patriotism for her team.
“Where’s Jaymes?” Aja asked.
“Probably sleeping,” Sasha said. “I don’t think she’s a party girl.”
“Her loss,” Alexis said. “We have this whole night to dance away!”
Everyone nodded in agreement and Charlie turned the music up, if it was even possible for it to be louder. The girls resumed their dancing and drinking and the guys resumed their grinding, and they got on with the party.
Not even an hour later, there was a furious knock at the door. By then, everyone was too drunk to be concerned, but got up to answer the door anyway. Charlie opened the door with a smile, which faltered when she saw who was standing right in front of her.
Farrah Moan, with the rest of the B-52 Bombers slithering up behind her.
“You just had to have it your way, didn’t you?” Farrah accused, glaring at Charlie.
“What do you mean?” Charlie played innocent, although her badly performed facade was scrapped when a bunch of footballers came to the door to see what the commotion was.
“Inviting our footballers to your shitty party.”
“They’re not yours. They’re their own people.”
Farrah scrunched up her face in a scowl, opening her mouth as if to say something, but then closing it again. Charlie did have a point.
“Look, I see what you sluts are trying to do -” Eureka started, but was cut off.
“Can you shut up a second?” Charlie demanded. “This is our party. Join us peacefully or leave.”
And so they left, quickly defeated, and thé Glamazons continued their party.
-
The next day at school was filled with glares from both sides, like two packs of wolves about to pounce. No one said a word to each other, but the looks being exchanged were enough to tell a thousand words. The footballers, however, seemed unfazed. After all, they had an important game tonight.
“I trust you’re ready for tonight?” Miss Visage found Aja in the corridor standing with Jaymes. Miss Visage was the deputy head teacher of the school, and always liked to be updated on students’ progress, no matter what it was in. Miss RuPaul ran the school and was therefore too busy to talk to all the students, so Miss Visage silently took that role. However, it was Miss RuPaul’s idea to start a cheerleading squad, RuPaul’s Glamazons, which then led to the B-52 Bombers being born. The original squad took inspiration from the 80s band, which the current squad had now ditched for twerking, rudeness, and chasing after the footballers.
“Of course,” Jaymes said, smiling brightly. “Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Aja nodded in agreement.
“Good. I know you girls will make us proud.”
“Are you rooting for the RuPaul’s Glamazons, Miss Visage?” Aja asked, smirking.
“Oh, you girls know I’m not allowed to have favourites,” she said with a wink. “But good luck.” She walked away. Aja and Jaymes smiled to each other, confidence beginning to grow inside both of them.
-
Cheering and screaming erupted through the crowds, signifying that it was 6:30pm - the game was about to begin. The Glamazons and the Bombers organised themselves into their positions, sharing a few glances here and there, and smiled widely at the crowd surrounding the pitch.
“Glamazons, Bombers - welcome to the starting match of the ninth season of Tuckahoe Football!” Mr. Mathews, the commentator, announced. “Are you ready?!”
The crowd cheered and whistled, some chanting the teams’ names. Excitement grew inside each of the cheerleaders’ stomachs. Mr. Mathews blew the whistle, and the game started.

Top 5 Woman-Crush-Wednesday's
Anyone remember my blog post on the Top 5 Man Crush Monday's? Remember how I said I would write a post in the next couple of days? Well a year has past and still haven't done it, so what the heck. Better late that never.
Moving from 2016 to 2017, I'm still the same Joe. The s*** with money, power ranger obsessed Joe. But with a touch more sass. Well I think so anyway. And recently I have been admiring a few female stars with what they've achieved and their talent. Which is why not so long ago I created the slogan GGL. GGL stands for Gay Girl Love. This is for when a gay man (such as myself) really likes a female person for multiple reasons such as their hair, voice, stuff they appeared or worked for etc. Multiple traits that you really admire about one person. For example, Nicole Scherzinger. I think her voice is brilliant, her hair is always flawless, her song Poison is amazing and she was killing it in the music video. I love her for all that. More than just saying 'OMG I love her' but not in the way of really loving/ fancying her. So then I would say I have GGLs for Nicole. If that makes sense. So going back to the trend of WCW. WCW stands for Woman Crush Wednesday. This is exactly the same as Man Crush Monday but with Woman and on a Wednesday. I am obviously not the kind of guy who would use this hashtag to post pics on their social media of bikini models wearing only swimsuits showing off their boobs and butts (for an obvious reason which I've said 2/3 times already). But it doesn't mean I would ignore the hashtag. Just because I'm not attracted to women doesn't mean I think women are only good for showing off their body and absolutely nothing else. Women can do what men can do and vice versa. Equality, plain and simple. There are so many great people who have done some amazing things who are female. And despite not being attracted to them, I would use the WCW hashtag to show how incredible they are in what they've achieved. So this post is a list of my Top 5 most likely Woman Crush Wednesday's. I think these people are amazing and you'll find out why.
5. Poppy

The person in the photo above (who's hair is amazing btw) is Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy.  She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. She's Poppy. Okay. That's enough. You are most likely to have skip read all of that but if you somehow decided to read all the sentences, how long did it take you? It took me 25 seconds which felt long enough to read 2 words. But imagine having two words said on and on for over 10 minutes, weird right. That didn't stop Poppy. Oh hell no! Poppy (also known as That Poppy) is an artist who has been known to make YouTube videos which weird the s*** out of everyone. One of her most popular videos is where she repeats herself saying "I'm Poppy" for over 10 minutes. And that's just one video. From interviewing a plant, to teaching you how to play the 'P' chord, to giving you a virtual hug and to loading a gun. There's a huge variety of weird. And I like that. Not your typical YouTuber, it's a fresh change. Especially since nobody knows much about her. Whether if this is all an act, what she is really like, if this is her actual personality, her age, interests. No one knows. But that doesn't stop a video of hers making you think. And you don't know what to think, you just do. From anything to everything. However, her videos are not why she made it in this list. The music she has released is incredible. Despite the videos being weird and probably full of hidden messages, the actual songs are simply beautiful. Examples include Lowlife, Money & I'm Poppy. Have a little listen for yourself and you'll see why she made the list.
4. Naomi Scott
Tumblr media

There's obviously gonna be a Power Ranger in this list. It is me after all. Naomi Scott (who was also in the Disney Channel Original Movie 'Lemonade Mouth') plays Kimberly Heart, the Pink Ranger in the Power Rangers 2017 Reboot Movie. Based of the original 1993 character, Naomi does a brilliant job of bringing the character to life again with so much more depth. Not going into too much detail which could spoil the movie, her character has a brilliant way of teaching people that you can learn from the mistakes you make and just because you do a bad thing, it won't automatically make you a bad person. An important message, shown perfectly well. Not only just that, Naomi's character gives you so many moments that get you pumped in this movie too. There's scenes which makes you laugh, get excited, be shocked, and feel worried etc. There's even a scene where she walks down a staircase (pictured) and you can't help but think 'Yassss Queen, Slay That Staircase'. Or at least just me anyway. Simply said, the way she portrayed the character was on point, you can't help but love the new Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger.
3. Dove Cameron
Tumblr media

There maybe two in the picture but trust me, there is only one Dove!
Dove Cameron is a current Disney Channel Queen. Now don't get me wrong. I loved growing up with Disney Channel. My childhood dream was to be in front of a white backdrop holding a glow stick saying "I'm Joe Smith and you're watching Disney Channel" whilst drawing Mickey Mouse ears (if you don't know what I'm on about, watch this). High School Musical, Hannah Montana & That's So Raven. Those were the classics. I lost count how many times people who know me personally asked me if I knew about the Raven sequel series that's been announced. Of course I did. It's me. But it's safe to say that most things made after Season 2 of Shake It Up were pretty awful. To some, I'm even being generous by saying the first season of SIU was decent. I feel like I can safely say shows like Dog With A Blog and Ant Farm lost a generation of viewers. They lost comedy and Disney Channel spark. To me, the Disney Channel I knew was dead. But a couple of years later, the return of Cory and Topenga from Boy Meets Worlds sequel series Girl Meets World, brought me back to the channel. The show is special and brought back some magic of enjoyment like my younger self had from my DC days. I didn't even watch Boy Meets World but I could feel so much nostalgia and happy feelings from it as well. Because of this, I could watch other shows every now and then from around that time (such as I Didn't Do It, K.C. Undercover, Best Friends Whenever) and despite not enjoying them as much as the old shows (mainly because I'm [apparently] an adult and these are made for teens), they wouldn't be an unpleasant viewing. But not so long ago, I subscribed to Disney Life to binge watch the old shows as often as I wanted to. But there was one show I couldn't help but take a little look at. And that was Liv And Maddie. A few episodes passed and that was it. Turns out despite the immature comedy and easy to figure out plots sometimes, there's something about the show I really like. I don't know what it is but I really do enjoy watching Liv And Maddie. Liv And Maddie stars Dove Cameron as both Liv Rooney & Maddie Rooney. Identical twin sisters who are reunited and living together after Liv comes back home after filming her own TV show for quite a long time. Remember earlier how I said women are more than just here to look pretty and nothing else? Well Liv And Maddie deals with this topic really well. They bring up topics from guys ranking the girls from 0-10 just on their appearance, schools putting more money & care to boy sports teams than girl teams and female actors getting more questioned about what they wear than their time on making the show. Liv And Maddie just screams girl power, and it's done perfectly well. The show ran for three seasons and a fourth with the updated title Liv And Maddie: Cali Style (pictured above). The show has something unique about it (joining the small list of DC shows that got the 4th season renewal such as That's So Raven, Hannah Montana & Good Luck Charlie) and Dove does a brilliant job of bringing such big personalities to life in two characters with the way the show is made. But it's not just this show that makes Dove a Disney Channel Queen. She also is a Disney Villain... Kinda...

Dove also stars as Mal, Maleficent's daughter in the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants. Not going into too much detail because I've talked about Dove a lot but this film is pretty decent. A story about the kids of Disney heroes & villains is gonna catch my interest. Kenny Ortega who directed High School Musical did this as well so I can use that as an alibi to prove it isn't awful. And soon there is going to be a sequel and I am really excited to see it. I haven't been excited to see a DCOM since Camp Rock 2. So that is why Dove is in the list. Mirror Mirror, on the wall, who's the baddest of them all? I'm not genuinely asking, it a quote from the movie. I felt like I needed to put it there.
2. Becky G
Tumblr media
http://www.lionsgatepublicity.com/theatrical/powerrangers/
That's the longest I've ever gone not talking about Power Rangers. How did I mange that?! But carrying on with the list. Becky G is Number 2 on this list. She is a Pop Princess in the United States. Not that popular in the UK (yet), you may remember her collaboration with Cher Lloyd. But it's not just her music that puts her on this list. Like Naomi, Becky G plays Trini Kwan, the Yellow Ranger in the Power Rangers 2017 Reboot Movie. But Becky brings a change to her original 1993 character in such a great way and is a ranger you can really like. One of the things about her character is that she's gay. She admits this is in the movie and she talks about how she struggles moving home all the time and living with parents who want her to be perfect and how they believe in all these types of labels. And Becky's character deals with this topic in a small but brilliant way. Trini is the first openly gay Ranger in the whole PR universe and that's an amazing step forward. Power Rangers has been around for a long time and always been diverse with their many different cast members. The movies cast is also diverse and the fact that it's not just dealing with race but now sexuality as well, it's a brilliant thing. The cast and the way their characters are portrayed are done perfectly well. That's what makes Power Rangers a great movie. And Becky G plays a huge part in this, which is why I admire her.
1. Ariana Grande
Tumblr media
http://gazettereview.com/2017/03/ariana-grande-net-worth/
Another Pop Princess makes the list and takes the crown as Number 1. Ariana Grande needs no introduction and if you don't know who she is, you've been living under a rock. Even though I'm not her biggest fan, I still have serious GGL's for Ariana. I loved watching her play the role of Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon series Victorious. The not so smart but still so talented character was portrayed by Ariana really well. Watching the series during its original run even made me want to meet Cat so much, I wanted her to be a real person. Her character was brilliant and brought so much laughter to me when watching the series. But it's not just the role of Cat that makes me love Ariana. Her voice is incredible! From listening to some amazing songs like The Way, Bang Bang, Problem & Break Free, it just proves how amazing her voice is. Have a little listen for yourself and you are most likely to agree with me.
Tumblr media
Just before Christmas 2016, Ariana took the role of Penny Pingleton in NBC's Hairspray Live! and like any acting job she takes, Ariana plays it perfectly well. Her verse in You Can't Stop The Beat is really enjoyable and you can't help but admire her collaboration with Dove Cameron (who is also in this TV Special) and Maddie Baillio for the song Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now. When watching the special, it's easy to see how much Ariana enjoyed playing the role of Penny and I much prefer her take on the character than the 2006 movie Penny. I can't help but love Ariana. So that concludes my Top 5 WCW. I'll do my best to post more on this blog since I do enjoy it but for now, thank you so much for spending time reading this and I hope you enjoyed it.
