𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐉𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐒 [𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄] — 𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐂𝐈𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐍𝐀𝐌-𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐘
Tumblr media
one / two / three / four / masterlist / wattpad
summary: Alycia finally confronts her father about your relationship.
warning/s: none.
author's note: here's a little bonus part that isn't very long because a lot of people wanted some sort of conclusion haha – not gonna lie, i was just gonna leave it open-ended but then decided to just quickly write this. Hope you like it!
Tumblr media
I chewed my lip subconsciously as I watched Alycia and her father going back and forth at one another outside in the garden.
Stood inside the safe confinements of the dining room, I'd been observing their conversation-turned-argument through the glass for the past five minutes, the double glazing allowing for the occasional loudly-yelled word or phrase to be heard. It was enough for me to make out the unpleasantries exchanged, the absolute Clayton slander from Alycia and basically everything she'd ever bottled up in regard to her father.
It would have been satisfying to witness if I didn't feel so bad about it all. As annoying as her father was, it was still her father, and even though Alycia had promised to make things right after our cuffs came off earlier, it didn't change that fact.
When I felt a presence beside me, I looked away from them to see Millie had approached, standing beside me and looking outside curiously.
"Damn, she's finally standing up to him, huh?" she realised.
I nodded, looking back to them. "Yep. We leave first thing in the morning."
Mille hummed, surprised. "Well, I'm happy for you. It's about time Alycia stepped up for you. You deserve it, Y/N."
I smiled appreciatively, glancing at her. "Thanks, Millie. You're one of the few things that made this trip tolerable."
Millie snorted with amusement. "No worries. Happy to be of service."
I snickered before turning around when I heard the sliding door open. A quick glance told me Alycia's father was storming off in a mood, and Alycia herself was returning with a heavy sigh to mark her frustration and relief.
"How did it go?" I asked her with a raised brow, before sarcastically adding, "Looked great from where I was stood."
With a reassuring smile, she approached me. "It's all okay now. And I feel a lot better."
I exhaled, giving her a small smile, and then she noticed Millie stood beside me and grew embarrassed.
"Millie," she acknowledged with a nod. "Look, I... I must apologise for my behaviour earlier. It wasn't appropriate and it certainly wasn't fair of me."
Millie tried not to laugh as she replied generously, "It's okay. I kind of figured there was more to it."
Cheeks dusting pink, Alycia struggled for words. "Still."
Finally smiling, Millie said, "It's okay. No harm, no foul." A pause, and then she added, "It'll certainly be boring without you two around."
Laughing to herself, she left the two of us alone and Alycia seems to relax fully.
"It was nice of you to apologise," I told her, resting a hand on her arm as I stepped closer.
"I was an arse to her," she admitted. "It was needed."
I scrunched my nose up. "Yeah, just a little."
She rolled her eyes, a ghost of a smile on her lips. "Whatever. Let's go pack, idiot."
I laughed, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling her into my side as we walked.
We spent the remainder of the afternoon packing our things before relaxing in our room, watching some TV, before we had to endure a final family dinner tonight. I was dreading it slightly, worried her dad might kill me or something, but to our surprise, he didn't show.
Her mum was seated at the table already, Alycia and I soon joining her, but her dad wasn't there. Alycia didn't seem to mind, but I felt a little guilty, wondering if this was all worth it.
"He's sulking," her mum explained to us when she saw our expressions.
"Good," Alycia said dismissively. "I've said all I have to say."
Her mum sighed. "I know, hon."
"I refuse to visit here until he learns to accept my life as it is," Alycia told her knowingly. "That includes my girlfriend. But you're always welcome to visit us, mum, you know that, right?"
Her mum smiled and nodded. "I know. I'm sure he'll get over himself." Her eyes fell to me, softening apologetically. "He'll understand. Eventually. He's just too stubborn for his own good."
I nodded halfheartedly, eyes returning to my dinner plate as I wasn't sure what to say and it felt like I'd made things worse.
Thankfully, dinner went by quickly enough, with Alycia and her mum soon forgetting of the drama and simply having a final catch up before we'd leave tomorrow. After dessert, we all said our goodnights, and Alycia and I finished early for the evening, the day's events taking its toll on us.
Shortly after, I found myself curled up to Alycia's side in bed, head tucked in the space between her shoulder and neck as her hand gently stroked my hair. It was quiet, myself relaxing the longer we stayed like that, but then she spoke.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "That it took so long for me to stick up for you. For us."
"Better late than never," I attempted to joke to lighten the mood, but she merely sighed in response.
"He'll come around," she said with certainty, though it sounded more like she was trying to convince herself.
"For your sake, I hope so," I said, lips brushing her skin. "He'll miss seeing how amazing you are and have no choice but to."
She chuckled quietly beside me, leaning back to get a better look at me. Her green eyes sparkled with adoration as they met mine, making me smile.
"I think you're biased, darling," she said softly, hand tracing my jaw.
I shook my head nonchalantly. "Nah, I'm not."
Her smile widened and she leaned in, closing the gap between us for a moment. When she pulled back, she said, "You're not?"
I shook my head again, eyes lowering to her lips before capturing them between mine briefly. "Nope."
She snickered before reattaching our lips, body pressing to mine in a way that fogged all my senses and made my heart blossom in my chest. Her tongue slipped between my lips and found mine, overwhelming me in the best way possible as her hand simultaneously slid down my side and past my waist.
It was safe to say that I couldn't remember what we'd even been talking about until that point.
"Is that the last one?" Alycia called from the bottom of the staircase.
"Yeah," I called back, before dragging the final suitcase behind me, taking it downstairs.
We were finally leaving the Debnam-Carey mansion, to my relief. I brought the suitcase outside where the driver was loading the car with our things and turned to see Alycia hugging her mother by the front door. Sucking up a breath, I approached them and waited patiently.
"He's not gonna say goodbye, is he?" Alycia asked her mum, trying to show indifference, but I could see that she was disappointed.
"He's sulking," her mum said with a slight frown.
Alycia sighed, massaging the bridge of her nose. I placed a comforting hand on her back, though my insides were shrivelling with guilt.
"You've got a good thing here with Y/N," her mum said to her, surprising me. "Don't let his petulance ruin that." Alycia nodded, and her mum looked to me with a softened expression. "He's gonna come around. He's gonna see how important this is. How special you are to our Leashy. He never stays mad for long."
I appreciated her attempt at reassuring me, her no doubt having seen my guilty face, but still wasn't sure. "What if he doesn't?"
She smiled considerately. "Oh, he will."
I nodded slightly, a little more at ease. The last thing I wanted was to drive a wedge in their family. Alycia hugged her mum once more, thanking her for her support.
"I'm sorry I've never been too welcoming to you," her mum said to me with apologetic eyes, and for a moment, she resembled her daughter, making it difficult to hold a grudge. "But this trip has just proven how important you are in Alycia's life. So, welcome to the family, Y/N."
Growing warm at the attention, I nodded awkwardly, small smile on my lips. "Thank you. That means a lot."
Alycia's smile widened as she took my hand in hers, and I was glad that at least something good came out of this whole fiasco. Years later to be accepted was better than never, I supposed.
After a final goodbye, Alycia and I went into the car with a heavy sigh. She reconnected our hands across the middle seat as the driver began our journey, and gave me a soft smile.
"Time to go back home," she said, squeezing my hand.
I returned her smile, though still felt the need to check on her. "Are you gonna be okay? With your dad and everything?"
She shrugged nonchalantly, lighthearted smile on her face, like nothing could bother her right now. "He'll get over it. And I have you, don't I?"
I sighed, her happiness contagious as a smile crept on my lips. "You do."
She leaned forward to kiss my lips briefly before settling into her seat. "What a trip, am I right?"
I laughed, shaking my head with disbelief. "Don't you know it, love. Don't you know it."

You don't know how long its been. Days, weeks, months since Teddy launched nuclear bombs. You ended up with Strand, which wasn't a wise choice at first but the tower the two of you found became a safe haven. And Strand was quite scary enough and convincing enough to make anyone bend at his will.
You let him run everything, bring new people in and advise everything. You occasionally went out for supplies but most of your time was spent on the radios, or map locations.
You felt yourself going crazy each passing day. Thinking, thinking of her and it hurt. The last conversation you had was a fight about her going out without you. Sure it was possessive of you but all you wanted was to keep her safe.
Part of you regretted that fight, you never saw her again after that. But the other half was satisfied you got your thoughts out.
You were lost in your thoughts when Howard came foe you.
"Strand may have found Alicia." The second the words 'found' and 'Alicia' left his words you ran past him to reach the roof. There sat Strand under an umbrella and a younger man standing with stuff all around him.
"Strand who is this?" You ask and point at the man.
"Y/n, this is Will and he might just have something we need." Says Strand with a smile before lifting his hand and let a necklace drop out. Your eyes immediately fell at the pendant and you practically launched over to grab it.
"Where?" You look at Strand but he shrugs and looks at Will. You turn around and walk towards him. "Where did you get this?" You grabbed his collar and pulled him close.
"Out there."
"Show me."
"Why?"
"Well give you a place here, please just take me where you got this." You were practically begging at this point. Strand stood up and walked towards you.
"Now lets talk about this."
"No Strand we can't talk about this." You turned around and grabbed his arm to drag him away. "This is what I needed, proof shes alive, now I just need to find her." You were smiling widely but it was a smile that would make anyone uneasy.
"Fine, take two men."
"Thank you." You nodded at him and immediately walked away. "Come on Will, we take the horses."
-
“How much farther?” You ask Will and take your mask off.
“About a mile or so.” He says and he starts moving the horses again.
“So why haven’t you gone back to your settlement?” Will looks back at you and sighs.
“Im not exactly welcome anymore, I’ve been trying to make it up to the people there.”
“Why? Making people know they’re wrong should be satisfying.”
“Why the hell would I do that?” Will slows his horse down to settle in next to you. You stayed silent for a second, trying to figure out the words.
“Hmm, guess thats just me.” You mumbled and dragged a finger along the horses reins. Thunder started rumbling over you and you looked up.
“Where did you find the necklace?” You ask but before he could answer it started raining.
“We need to mask up! Take cover, now!” He says and everyone started putting their masks on.
“We need to get to cover.” You say and raise a hand over your eyes.
“I know a place, follow me.” He says and urged the horse to run with everyone following.
-
You made it under a bridge and hopped of the horses.
“Should be safe enough under here.” Says Will and you look around.
“What is this place?”
“Last 50 days, home.” He says.
“Cozy.” You say and grimace.
“Hey Stop!” He says and you look to see the men accompanying you touching a van. “Thats mine.” They raise their hands in surrender.
The men started taking pictures, something Strand instated they do.
“Yo Y/n, look at this.” You walk towards them and crouch down.
“Is this the handiwork of those people you told me about on our way here?” You ask.
“Stalkers. What are we really doing out here?”
“Hmm?”
“Whoever that necklace or medallion belongs to you must know them, right?”
“What difference does it make?”
“Just funny.”
“There is nothing funny about this.”
“Its just it seems like you have everything back at the tower.” He says snd you look back at him.
“I do.”
I don’t
“Then why did you go so crazy when you saw the medallion that belongs to her.” At his words you smiled widely.
“I never told you I was looking for a woman.” You stood up and placed a hand on the axe that sat on your hip.
“Boys, I think this man lured us here to be killed.” They raised their guns at him and Will scoffs.
“I wasn’t-.”
“Start talking.” You cut him off.
“Who?”
“Alicia.” He scoffed again. “Answer me.” You were glaring at him with a dark intent in your eyes. As you were going to speak again gunfire started.
“Stalkers!” Yelled Will, you looked back to see three people in full gear, crouched down and shooting at the four of you. You all ran to cover snd the horses ran away as well. Will got shot and the men shot one of the stalkers. Then walkers showed up and you grabbed Will and dragged him towards his van. You head screams and knew the men that fane with you were dead.
“We need to get out of here.” You slammed your hands on the sides and turned to will and grabbed his injured leg.
“Not until you answer my question.”
“I already did.”
“No you Fucking didn’t!” You seethed and stuck you ginger against the wound making him groan loudly in pain. “Where is Alicia”
“I said I don’t know.”
“No you never said that.” You bite your lip and bring your unoccupied hand to your face. “Where’s Alicia?”
“I don’t know who that is.” He writhed and you sat back. You looked to your sude and saw a box.
The Franklin
“The Franklin, thats where Teddy took her.” You let out a laugh.
You were right Y/n as always
“I don’t need you, I’ll do this myself.”
“Wait, wait, wait.” Starts Will and grabs your arm. “She’ll never forgive you.”
“What makes you think thats what I want?”
“Because I know who you are, Y/n. She told me.”
She talked about me
“I think you want to make things right with you, be better.” You looked at him in disbelief and your eye twitched.
“No no no no no, I just need her by my side again. No she will be by my side again.” You pushed you fingers back into his wound and he almost screamed. You kicked the doors opened and pushed walkers away, there was a horse right outside so you ran and got on it.
“Y/n!” Called Will but you were already on the horse and riding away.
-
You reached Franklins and noticed it almost like a light house. You lit up a lantern and started your decent up the stairs. As you reached the top you set it down and saw a dead walker, you crouched down and pushed it slightly. You found a map laying behind it and grabbed it. You inspected the whole thing and saw Franklins hotel.
“Im coming for you baby.” You dragged your finger across the map and stood up again to go back down the stairs. You reached the doors and opened them. A heavy fog had rolled in.
You instantly heard footsteps making you stop. They were staggered like a walkers but still close together and fast like a humans. You grabbed the handle of the axe and before you could pull it out a gun cocked.
“Hold it!” It was Will and he was pointing the gun towards you.
“How did you find me?”
“Theres only so many places to hole up around here.” You started backing up until you were completely inside the tower again. “You just tried to kill me.” You sit down in a chair and he leans back against a wall.
“Sorry.” You rolled your eyes.
“I guess Alicia was right, you’re not trustworthy.”
He’s lying Y/n don’t believe him Alicia loves you
“Yeah right.”
“What did you think finding her would do?”
“If I find her it means I can keep her safe.”
“Trust me she doesn’t need saving.”
“Thats what everyone says.” You smile.
“I learned a lot from her. Alicia, she didn’t want to be in that bunker. She was locked up by that psycho who dropped the bombs on us, she was locked up with his followers and she could’ve became an asshole like you.”
“Im not an asshole I just care.”
“Stop, you’re an asshole.” You tightened your fists. “And you want to know why she didn’t, because she knew what Senator Vazquez knew, you can’t lead alone.”
“Who said I wanted to lead?”
“Leading comes with danger, and knowing from what she said about you, you’d take over in an instance.”
“Wow, you know how perfect she is.” You smile as her face flashes in your mind. “Why aren’t you there with her?” Will groans and walks around to a chair to sit.
“You have that necklace?” He asks and you nod, you slowly reach into your pocket and hold it out to him. He snatches it out of you hand and you glare at him.
“Truth is, I needed this just as much as you do. She asked me to do something, and I couldn’t do it.”
He’s a coward, not worthy
“What did she ask you to do?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Yes it does
“Why didn’t you do it?”
“It would’ve protected everyone there, expect for her.”
“Protect her above everything.” You whispered to yourself and Will raises an eyebrow in confusion. “It must have been pretty bad if she casted you out.”
“I’ve been looking for a way back everyday since, I didn’t think I’d find it. Then I woke up in Strand’s tower and I thought, maybe, maybe if I brought you and Strand to her, maybe that would do it.”
She still wants you
“But after what I’ve seen today, I doubt she’d even recognize you.”
He’s keeping you away from her
“She would, I’ve done nothing wrong.”  You wiped your eyes quickly. “Did she tell you that I gave her the necklace.”
“I did, I knew it’d get your attention.”
“I gave it to her, so that she would remember who she was and who I am.” You scratched your head and looked at the chain. “Can I see it again.” He leans forward and hands it to you, but you grabbed his wrist an pulled him forward roughly so he fell out of his chair. It ended up with a fight on the floor but he grabbed the gun making you back down.
“Twice now that you’ve tried to kill me.” He walks away with a limp to the door.
“What are you doing?” The groans of walkers could be heard.
“I thought that if I took you there we’d be brought back together, but shes better off without you.”
That almost set you off, the bubbling anger was almost at the too. You grabbed your hair and pulled it roughly.
She needs you, he doesn’t know what he’s saying
He opened the door and stood there. You slammed your hand against the floor and ran to him, pushing him out of the way and shutting the doors.
“What the hell was that?”
“I knew those people.” He winces. “Something bad must’ve happened.”
“Alicia.”
-
“Did you see her? Was she-“ You ask desperately but he shakes his head.
“No I didn’t see all of them.”
“I think its time we leave.”
“Wait you cant see more than two feet in front of you.” He looks around the small room. “But I can help.” He grabs a gas tank and hold it up to something.
“That-That wont work, the diesel has no guarantee it will burn.” You say and he sets it down.
“We need this.” He grabs a keys and jams it in there. The engine sputters but it turned on. He ran up stairs and you heard noises and he ran back down. “Lets go.” You nodded and pushed the door open. Killing a few walkers as he grabbed the horse and hopped on. You followed and settled in behind him.
-
He led you to a fallen ruin, radiation full.
“So this is where you were?”
“Yeah whats left of it.” He walked to the door and pushed it open. You raised your axe just encase, he walked in first then you followed, shutting the door behind you. As you got deeper in lights flickered and you were on high alert. Will les you through everywhere through the kitchens, living areas, and the bunker rooms.
“Its like a ghost town.”
“Whatever happened here happened a long time ago.” Says Will.
“How many people lived here.”
“128. It was me, the senator and a few other staff before Teddys scouts found the place.
“What happened to them?”
“Scouts killed everyone while I was doing maintenance  in the air filter, I stayed up in the service corridors until we all got locked in here.”
“Hmm.”
“Alicia!” He yelled and you couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.
You walked deeper in the bunker until you reached two doors. You walked through them and the lights turned on. It was like a meeting room, very clean and very functional.
“This was stalkers, nothing was taken, I don’t think they were attacked.”
“Then what the hell happened.” You walked towards the front and saw a painting, it was very familiar.
“This wasn’t here before.”
“She painted it.” You smiled and the memory of watching her paint on the trees and buildings before everything started getting separated. On the podium there was a piece of paper taped to it. WILL. He grabbed it and opened it, you looked over his shoulder and looked at it.
“Yeah, I think she did.”
PADRE
-
“Whats Padre?” You ask from your side of the stage.
“It doesn’t matter.” He responds.
“Why not?”
“Because it’s probably gonna get her killed.”
“Is it a person? Place?”
“I don’t know. I don’t know. Nobody knows. Might not even exist.”
“It?”
“Something better, atleast the possibility of it. I though maybe if I found it first she wouldn’t t have to but, if anything happens to them, to her… thats on me.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I should have been here. I should have a found a way to make things up to her.”
His tone. His tone. Why is he saying it like that? Why? Why?… no he cant… she’s mine
“You loved her.” The second those words left your mouth your fists tightened so much your knuckles popped.
“Doesn’t matter.”
You’re right
“Its all for nothing anyway.”
You can’t love her like I do… keep her safe
“Hmm, Will im sorry for what I’ve done, I just want to find her, I miss her, a lot.”
“Maybe thats the point of us meeting, we’re supposed to find her. Together.”
No Y/n only you
“Hmm. Or maybe she’ll find us.” You try to give him your best smile and hop down the stage. “Strand will like that light in the tower come on.”
-
You got back to the tower and they instantly started working on it.
“How far will it reach?” Asks Strand.
“15 miles maybe.” Strand looks through his binoculars to the ground.
“It appears our flame has already drawn a few moths.” He passed them to Will.
“She’ll see it.” He leaned over to you. “She’ll follow it. She’ll find this place.” You turn around and catch Strands eyes, giving him a knowing look.
“Alicia is really the closest thing to a family I’ve had Will. You’re no the only one who loves her. I never told her enough but I realize I should when I find her.”
“When we find her.” He tries and corrects you but you scoffed.
“Did she ever say what me and her were?” You ask and walk away from the ledge. Will squints his face in confusion.
“You were bestfriends.”
“So I guess she never told you about the kisses we shared, or the moments alone we had.” You say and Wills stops in his tracks.
“She never-.”
“I can see that, because its clear she cheated on me with you.” You say and turn around to Wills shocked face. “See im the only one who deserves to love her in the way you believe you do. And she’s the only one who deserves to love me, but its clear she had a change of heart because if you love her, that means things happened. Things that were meant for me.” You grabbed his jacket and Will tries to push you off.
“She never said she was in a relationship thats not my fault.” He says and you top.
“Are you saying it’s hers?” You ask with wide eyes.
“Wait what no.”
“You’re not worthy of her, Only I am.” You walked quickly to the edge with him still in your grasp and pushed him off the edge. He screamed as he feel down all the way to the ground with a splat “Only me.” Strand and Howard approached you from the back.
“Should I go down there and get a picture?” Asks Howard and you shake your head.
“Nobody’s looking for him.”
“Someone might.” He says and you and Strand look at each other.
“She’s only looking for Y/n.”
-
A/n- part 2 might come out when I get to another part with Strand and/or Alicia but who knows if I might lol this has been sitting in my drafts for months

Wax Time
Requested: Yes
Request:  Can I request an alycia debnam carey imagine with a male reader? He's a YouTube and they do a video together like boyfriend tag and every question he gets wrong he gets a wax strip or cream to the face?
Author's note: Definitely not my best work but I had started this one a long time ago and never really finished. I ended up losing my train of thought with this but I still had fun with it and hopefully for a comeback it isn't awful.
Being a YouTuber always meant you had to keep your audience engaged. When it first came out that you were Alycia Debnam Carey’s new boyfriend your social media was on fire. You hadn’t had her in any of your videos so today you decided to see if she would be willing to do one of the boyfriend tag challenges with you. Of course she agreed most likely because she was ready to get you back for all the pranks you had pulled on her.
“Hey everyone! Welcome back to my channel we’re here today with another new video and today I have a very special guest. Alycia wave to the camera,” you say moving over in your chair so she can pull up next to you. She waves and you look back to the camera. “So today we’re going to play a game. It’s called boyfriend tag which means if I get an answer wrong I have a punishment,” you put air quotes around the word punishment and laugh. “Alycia gets to pick the punishment so hopefully she won’t try to get me back for all the pranks I did earlier this year.”
“Aw, and to think that’s actually what I wanted to do. So if you get a question wrong you get punished,” Alycia asks for clarification. You nod. “So if you get an answer partially wrong I think cream to the face should suffice but if you get an answer completely wrong I think wax strips would be best. I know how much you love waxing,” she says sarcastically.
You bite your lip and take a deep breath. “Well there you have it. Those are the punishments so lets hope I don’t get any of these questions wrong.”
“Okay first question, should be easy. When is my birthday,” Alycia asks eyeing you carefully.
Scoffing you give a quick answer,” July 20. The year 1993.”
Alycia nods,” favorite color?”
“Oh yellow.” You say it with such confidence that you don’t see Alycia put a tally in the wrong column
“Oh, I’m sorry my favorite color is green so that’s one wrong answer. Next question what’s my favorite food?”
“Pizza,” you say slowly watching her.
As the game continues you’ve reached nine wrong answers out of fifteen and with only one question left you start to get a bit nervous.
“Last question, what is my favorite show to watch.”
Gulping you answer with, “ the 100?”
“Game of Thrones actually,” Alycia sighs putting the question cards down and grabbing the wax materials.
“Oh boy. This did not go well.” You look into the camera,” I swear I love my girlfriend I just don’t remember what some of her favorite things are. Wow that made me sound like a little bit of an ass. Well since I lost Alycia has decided that wax will be the ultimate punishment and since I missed ten questions she will wax ten different parts.”
The first was on your chest and boy did you shed a tear. The second was on your arm and that was more bearable. The next two were both on your legs.
“Alycia please stop this is painful,” you plead as she goes for your back. She ignores your plea and yanks off the wax strip. “How do women do this for fun?”
By the time she’s finished your chest is red and tingly, your back is tingly and a bit numb but your legs are on fire. You look in the mirror and frown at the eyebrow that’s missing and look to the space where your lower abdominal hair used to be.
“Um, well after an upsetting loss I can no longer feel parts of my body and um, I’m missing an eyebrow. Alycia can now say she got me back for all the pranks I pulled. Hopefully, in the next video a little bit of my eyebrow will be back and I’ll see if Alycia wants to do this again with the roles reversed. Until next time!” You wave at the camera before clicking off and screaming.

I hope this isn't a weird question but do you have a list of sjm characters that you headcanon as poc? Because I want to see what you think and if they line up with my own. I had never seen manon fan casted as asian, but im in love with it!!
I love this question! I've been re-reading the three series, getting ready for CC3 to come out. I have so many things to say, but I'll leave all that to another post - also thank you for this question, it's awesome. Please comment how you feel/what you think in the comments xx
Tumblr media
𝐀𝐂𝐎𝐓𝐀𝐑
First of all, the Bat Boys are NOT white. If I see another person fancast Matthew Daddario as Ariel, I will implode! I know it's difficult getting the perfect cast for a story we all adore.
Another point, the Bat Boys are Illyrian, and they are actual real people. Their usual features are tan skin, brown eyes and brown/black hair.
Also, Lucien - who I have fancasted in the past with Martin Sensmeier. I thought it was an interesting idea for a Native American to have that role.
And Amren is MOST DEFINITELY Asian. Without a doubt. There is no ifs, buts or maybes about it. She is most definitely Asian, and I will take offense if someone thinks otherwise.
Also, I don't want the Archerons to be so conventionally pretty, or petite. That's why Alycia Debnam-Carey is my Feyre, Dagmara Bryzek as Elain and Jessica Brown-Findlay as Nesta. I want women who aren't models!
The Valkyries;l Emerie is described as brown, as she is an Illyrian woman. And I'm completely fine with Gwen being red-haired, freckled and pale.
I'm curious about Mor, her physical features are fine - but her 'power' has yet to be revealed. Because it doesn't make sense???
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐎𝐆
There are a lot more cultures in this series than the others. For me, it was so interesting because I'm desperate to know how different countries/continents, experience magic.
Learning about the Ruk's, with Nesryn and Sartaq, that was amazing.
I thought Manon was Asian, I always thought she was?! I mean from that link, that's how I imagined her. Whenever I see fanart where she isn't Asian, I just don't see them as Manon.
I definitely think the Cadre could be more than "tanned from hours of training in the sun." I think Lorcan could be a black man! And I def think Fenrys is half-black. Maybe with a white mother though. I hope I'm not coming off as insensitive! Please tell me if I am, because that isn't my intent.
Honestly, I don't care about what's 'canon,' I think there are way too many white characters in every part of literature. I know about history and when it comes down to fantasy worlds, I think black people should be allowed to indulge themselves as much as they want, without having to think about their awful history and what their culture has gone through.
Tumblr media
𝐂𝐂
I actually thought Danika was black, it was a surprise to see fanart and she isn't??? For some reason, it doesn't sit right with me to have a white Danika.
Again, I feel like there aren't enough people of colour. We have little fire sprites, we have a lion-dog pet, a serpent queen, angels, and barely anyone who isn't beyond tan.
I don't think this series has a black character ... other than a few background characters that are only mentioned here and there ... if anyone wants to weigh in - I'm still learning about cc, I forget A LOT.
But in no way has SJM been as horrible as J.K. Rowling. Not only was she racist, but cliche', and a pick me. There was too much pick-me energy among the female characters. I'd like to think that at Hogwarts, the girls stick together no matter what (for me, female friendships are so important. It's sisterhood).

CATCHING MY BREATH, STARING OUT AN OPEN WINDOW
Wendy Darling is based on Wendy from Peter Pan. She is a 28 year old human, novelist, and uses she/her pronouns. She has no powers. Wendy is portrayed by Alycia Debnam-Carey and she is taken.
CATCHING MY DEATH, AND I COULDN’T BE SURE
Wendy never meant to end up in Neverland, she rarely ever meant to do anything outside of what was expected of her - even if having such strict boundaries drove her a little mad sometimes. Fairytales were woven into her dreams, both at night and in the middle of the day, adventures were out there to be experienced or captured within the pages of her books, and Wendy wasn't going to waste a second of her reality without throwing a little bit of wonder into it. As the eldest Darling child, Wendy had to discover a balance between doing what her parents expected of her and holding onto the brilliance of childish imagination with all the strength she could muster. She didn't want to grow up even if the world they lived in demanded it. She didn't want to think about working at a bank or filing taxes or any of those adult things - she wanted to live in her stories for as long as she could; so, she did. She made it into a career. Writing wonderous adventures came easily to Wendy, creating the fantasies she had wished she could live herself and, in a way, she was able to in those pages. It was through some maternal instinct that she invited her younger brothers on a trip to research a mysterious island she'd heard about for a new novel of hers, trying to have some fun with the two of them before they all had to return to the real world when they found themselves in Neverland. In a way, Wendy had never felt more grownup than when she was there with Peter and the boys, but she knew it couldn't last. She might not have wanted to grow up but here it seemed like she couldn't even if she'd wanted to. It was fun, frivolous and fantastical - but it was time to go. It was as though as soon as the thought had entered her mind, Wendy had put something out into the universe and when she woke up, she wasn't in Neverland anymore. She didn't know where she was or how she'd gotten there but she soon discovered that she couldn't leave. And her brothers were nowhere to be found. Neither was Peter or any of the Lost Boys. Though she had no idea how she had arrived in this town called Evermore, she could remember everything before waking up in a bed that wasn't her own, surrounded by people she'd never met before.
I HAD A FEELING SO PECULIAR
❀ Allison Silva: From the moment they met, Wendy knew Allison was someone else who loved magic, albeit a slightly different kind of magic, but magic nonetheless. She loves spending time with her and talking about pretty much everything under the sun ❀ Andrew 'Andy' Davis: A fellow writer even though she gets the feeling he's a little more hesitant than she is to put pen to paper. They both know stories hold power, they just view that fact a little differently ❀ Olaoluwa 'Ola' Ibeh: He's funny and feels like a storybook character come to life in a strange way that Wendy can't articulate. Regardless, she likes spending time with him, he knows just want to say to make her feel better
THAT THIS PAIN WOULD BE FOR EVERMORE

𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐏𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐘 𝐉𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐒 [𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄] — 𝐀𝐋𝐘𝐂𝐈𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐍𝐀𝐌-𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐘

one / two / four / five / masterlist / wattpad
summary: it's four years into your relationship with Alycia but you're still not on the best terms with her parents, so you're forced to spend a week at their mansion and grow closer. Of course, it's not so easy when her dad hates you.
warning/s: none.
author's note: here’s part three, hope someone reading likes it haha. also i’m trying out a new layout for my imagines with hopes it’ll speed up putting it together on tumblr (as i copy it over from wattpad and have to format it which is annoying lol) - feel free to let me know what you think or if you prefer the old layout! :)
Tumblr media
Four years later...
"I'm still not too sure about this, Alycia."
Alycia looked at me and raised an eyebrow playfully. Her blue-green eyes were practically bursting with amusement, and she obviously found my discomfort hilarious, as usual.
"For the millionth time," she said, and she wasn't exaggerating, "it will be okay! They know we've been together for a few years now, and they know that you mean a lot to me, so stop panicking!"
As always, I nodded and released a breath I was unaware I was holding. Despite having met Alycia's family a few times before, I was still nervous because this time was different. It wasn't a meal at night and then say goodbye, it was staying for a week and getting to know them better. Sounds easy, right?
Wrong.
Not only were her parents insanely intimidating, but they were also loaded with millions of dollars, and they didn't seem to like me very much.
"Miss Debnam-Carey, we have arrived," the driver from the front of the car informed Alycia.
Yeah, a driver. Her parents sent for someone in a car (that probably cost more than all of my belongings put together) to pick Alycia and I up. All through the journey, I had been freaking out internally and failing to hide it on the outside.
"You ready?"
It took me a moment to realise that Alycia was talking to me. I looked to her, and the humour that was painted on her face throughout the whole journey was gone and replaced with reassurance.
"As ready as one can be when they are about to epically embarrass themselves in front of their loved one's parents."
Her adorable giggle echoed in the backseat of the car as the vehicle came to a halt. "I got you, Y/N. Don't worry."
The door to my right was opened by the driver, who had stepped out of the car without me noticing. I took a deep breath before stepping out of the vehicle. Only for my jaw to drop. Their house was beautiful.
Or should I say mansion.
The whatever-it-was was huge, spreading across a large amount of land. Only in front of me I could see a white, stone-carved fountain that was spouting crystal blue water, which was obviously artificially enhanced but beautiful nonetheless. Around the fountain was a cobbled pathway that led to the front door and around the driveway. Surrounding the mansion was acre after acre of empty land, being used for various rich-people activities.
If this was what the front of the grand house looked like, how did the rest look?
I felt someone's hand push my jaw close and I looked to my left to see that humoured grin on Alycia's beautiful face again. "Don't want to catch flies now, do we?"
I rolled my eyes but smiled, already feeling better knowing that she was still the same old Alycia I had fallen in love with. Despite the millions her parents owned.
"Come on," she said with a smile, lacing her fingers through mine and tugging me to her side a little. "I'll show you around."
"And that's the golf course," she finished, releasing my hand and looking to me with a bright smile. "What do you think?"
Alycia had shown me around the whole of her home and it was pretty hard for me to stay sane when her mansion of a home was freakin' beautiful. The amount of facilities that she had was unbelievable and it only made me realise how much harder this visit would be.
"It's amazing, Alycia," I responded, smiling weakly. "This is going to be an awesome week."
She smiled at my response, but when she saw the worry in my eyes, her smile faded away and she grabbed my hand once again. "Y/N, what did I tell you about worrying?"
"To only do it when I'm worrying about whether there's a ghost living in our flat?"
She sighed and cracked a smile, knowing humour was my defence mechanism to hide my feelings. "I never said that."
I scoffed. "I mean, have you seen the way our doors keep swinging close without anyone touching them?"
"Y/N–"
"Like, seriously. I'll literally be on the other side of the room and bang! The door shuts–"
"Y/N–"
"–and I'll spend the whole day wondering if somebody previously died in that place or if I'm just losing my mind–"
I got cut off when I felt a soft pair of lips press against mine. It was only short, but boy was it amazing. Alycia pulled away and laughed at my expression, which probably resembled a younger me getting my first kiss off Alycia a few years ago.
"You really need to quit babbling sometimes," she said, knowingly, patting my cheek with her hand.
"Sorry," I mumbled, taking her hand and kissing it gently. "I'm just being stupid. I promise I'll act normal now."
She shrugged and grabbed my hand, leading me back to the house. "If you say so, but you can't act like something you aren't."
It took me a few seconds to realise what she'd said since it was said so casually, but when I did, I gasped and looked at her, feigning offence.
"I'm kidding," she said in between laughter. "Sort of."
I waved my hand dismissively. "Oh, okay. That's fine. I guess I'll be sort of kidding when I tickle you!"
"Y/N, don't," she warned me, losing her amusement, and when I took a step forward, she backed up. Green eyes fixed on mine and she repeated, "Don't."
I quirked a brow, resisting the urge to smile. "Don't what, darling?"
It was silent between us, her not moving a muscle as she waited for me to dare make a move. All it took was for me to step forward and she yelped before running away.
"Alycia!" I shouted, chasing after her, but damn she was fast.
She kept looking back every so often to make sure I was far enough from her, so I ran that extra bit faster, closing in on her until we finally reached the house. Running inside, she was out of sight and I immediately slowed down upon entering the main atrium.
Too uncomfortable to be alone in someone else's house, let alone a rich person's house, I forgot what I was doing and tried to swallow down my nerves.
"Alycia!" I whisper-shouted, eyes scanning the space to try and find her. "Where are you?" The uneasiness settled in when there was no sign of her. "Alycia!"
Just when I was about to give up and ring her, I felt someone jump on my back and I automatically caught their legs, holding them upright instinctively.
"Hey, loser," Alycia's voice said into my ear, sending uncontrollable shivers down my neck. She leaned down further and kissed me on my cheek.
I craned my neck so that I could see her face, only to see that annoyingly attractive smirk on her lips all over again. "You're actually so annoying. Why am I even with you?"
She laughed it off. "'Cause you love me, duh!"
"Sure I do," I mumbled, before looking around.
She had shown me around earlier, so I remembered seeing a couch to the side which gave me an idea.
"Giddy up, horsie!" Alycia shouted, whilst patting me on the back simultaneously.
I smirked and walked forward, towards the couch. "I'll show you just how much I love you, Alycia."
She didn't respond, but I could sense her confusion. I headed towards the couch and turned around so that my back was facing it. She eventually realised what I was going to do and tried to jump off me, but I sat down before she could escape.
"Get off!" she ordered, trying to escape from my weight of a body that was currently crushing her and preventing her from standing up.
I purposely pressed myself down on her even more and laughed at her helpless struggling. "I just love you so much, Alycia. I can't help but be close to you!”
Her body was shuffling about beneath me and I could hear her whimpers as she tried to shove me off, but she wasn't strong enough. I thought she would give up, but instead, she began to use her hands, ruffling my hair and slapping my face with them.
"Not–" slap, "so–" slap, "funny–" slap, "now–" slap, "–is it?" she asked between laughter, making me squeeze my eyes close as she slapped me wherever she could.
Even without turning around, I could already imagine the obnoxious smirk adorning her lips.
I stood back up to get away from her, but she clung onto me from behind and began to slap my face again. I tried running away from her, but she wouldn't let go, her arms and legs clinging to me like a koala.
"Alycia! Let–" I tried prying her off me, but it wasn't working. "–go!"
"Then say–" she smacked my forehead, "–you love me!"
We were both as stubborn as each other, so the next minute consisted of Alycia smacking me and clinging to me, and myself trying to pry her off but failing miserably. We were so caught up in annoying each other that we didn't even realise we had an audience.
"Ahem," someone cleared their throat on purpose.
Alycia and I paused and turned to the left, only to see Mr and Mrs Debnam-Carey standing there with raised eyebrows. I looked back to Alycia and saw her mid-smacking my face, and I didn't look any better as I attempted to throw her off me. Oh, God.
"This looks a lot worse than it is." I laughed awkwardly, letting Alycia down off my back gently.
"Mum, dad!" Alycia yelled happily, immediately running to both of her parents and embracing them in a tight, loving hug.
They returned the hug, but their eyes were studying me up and down over her shoulder, and I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable under their gaze. Talk about bad timing.
"You guys know Y/N," Alycia introduced as she motioned to me.
I stepped forward and Alycia grabbed my hand, squeezing it gently for reassurance. She sent a hopeful smile my way and I felt the majority of my nerves die down. Her smile always made me feel ten times better; she had a certain power to make me feel good, and I loved her for it.
"Lovely to meet you both again," I greeted her parents, smiling nervously. I put my right hand out and they both shook it.
"You, too, Y/N," her mum responded, smiling a little. "We're glad you could join us for the week. It'll be good to be able to get to know each other properly."
I nodded in agreement. The reason I'd been with Alycia for so long and not gotten to know her parents as much is because it took her a long time to feel comfortable enough to introduce me, and when she did, I got the vibe that her parents didn't like me as much. It had been really difficult to 'befriend' them, if you will, which is why they invited me over for the week.
"Has Alycia shown you around the house?" her dad asked, seeming as if he were ready to snap his fingers and have someone give me a full-blown tour. Which to be honest, he probably could.
I nodded again. "Uh, yeah. You both have a lovely home by the way."
They smiled kindly and nodded their heads as a thank you. I internally relaxed, glad that I'd said the right thing. So far, so good.
"I'm sure Alycia can show you where you're both staying," her mum explained. "You can freshen up and then you'll be joining us for dinner tonight. We're having lamb. Sound good?"
"Yeah," I said with a nod, before smiling. "Thanks."
They smiled my way before leaving the main atrium. When they left, I let out a deep breath that I wasn't even aware I was holding.
"You looked like you were about to combust into thin air," Alycia noted aloud, an amused smile on her lips. "You okay?"
I flashed her a small smile. "Perfect."
Dinner rolled around quickly enough, too quick for my liking. The rest of the afternoon was spent with Alycia and I unpacking and messing about in our room, which was huge by the way. It was beautiful, though, especially with its balcony that overlooked one of the many grounds that the Debnam-Careys owned.
"So Y/N," Alycia's mother began after we had all dug into our meals and awkward small talk was made. "What have you been up to lately? You're doing a teaching degree at university, right?"
I was surprised to know that she actually remembered from our last chat which was a pretty long time ago, but nodded nonetheless.
"Uh, yeah. It's going well. It's kept me pretty busy, but I know I'll achieve something at the end of it, so I don't mind."
"Not too busy to keep Alycia happy, though, right?" her dad teased playfully, though I could tell that he genuinely wanted to know. I always got this vibe that he didn't like me as much, at least compared to her mum.
His comment caused Alycia to flush with embarrassment and sink lower into her seat to avoid being seen, though it made no difference.
I chuckled and glanced at Alycia, lacing our fingers together underneath the table. "Alycia's happiness will always be my top priority," I spoke with sincerity, smiling at the embarrassed Australian beside me.
Neither of her parents responded, but when I looked back at them, her mum was smiling as she looked between us. I wish I could say the same for her dad, but he was studying me like a battle plan, detecting whether I would make the right or wrong move in the future. And so returned my nerves...
"How is your company doing?" I asked them both, hoping to make good conversation and not say anything wrong. "I heard its picked up quite a bit recently. There was that new TV advertisement, right?"
The Debnam-Careys were rich because of their world-renowned summer camps, ironically where Alycia and I first met and she tried to pretend it was her aunt who owned it. It was their number one achievement, I had learnt, and sometimes I was sure that they were more proud of that than they were of Alycia, but I never said anything because it wasn't any of my business.
Alycia's mum finished chewing her food and nodded her head, saying, "It's definitely getting more popular. The advert helped, yes."
I nodded and tried to think of something else to ask or say, but I didn't know what. And all whilst I was trying to think, a good two minutes had passed, it being full of an awkward, uncomfortable silence. And this is exactly what I was dreading.
The whole meal was filled with random small conversations that soon ended with silences, and it was the most uncomfortable thing I had ever had to endure. So, you can imagine how happy I was when it was over.
"They hate me," I repeated for the millionth time, all whilst pacing up and down in Alycia and I's bedroom. "I probably looked like some boring person who has no interests."
Alycia sighed from where she was sat at the edge of the bed, and ran her hands through her hair. "You always overthink things, Y/N. It wasn't as bad as you're making it out to be."
I paused and looked to her with a raised eyebrow. "Are you kidding me? The highlight of the evening was you dropping your fork under the table, only to drop my fork under the table too."
She chuckled and stood up, moving closer to me and taking my hands in hers. "I only did that so I could talk to you under the table."
"I know." I cracked a smile. "And I appreciate the mini pep talk you gave me."
She did that cute smile she does, where her nose scrunched up and her eyebrows furrowed together, and I felt the need to lean in and give her a small but tender kiss on the lips. It certainly took her by surprise, and when I pulled away, she smiled at me with confusion.
"What was that for?"
I moved a piece of hair from her eyes and smiled down at her. "I don't really tell you enough, but I appreciate you a lot."
She chuckled gently. "I love you too, you idiot."
I rolled my eyes playfully, not bothering to explain what I meant. Instead, I leaned in again and kissed her, appreciating the way she relaxed and began to kiss me back. I was certain I'd never get tired of her lips against mine.
"You're kidding me, right?"
Alycia laughed and shook her head. "Honestly, I'm not."
I raised both of my eyebrows at her, still not believing a word she was saying. "You've got to be joking! You're seriously telling me that you and your parents did this 'afternoon tea' every single day for three years?"
Alycia nodded and took a sip of her tea. "Between the ages of 9 to 11. They believed it was the key to developing my social skills." She bit her lip as she thought to herself, before adding, "Evidently that didn't work since I'm super awkward with people I don't know, but yeah."
I couldn't help but laugh at her seriousness. We'd been here two days and Alycia had invited me to 'afternoon tea' with her and her parents. Of course, they'd said they were going to be a little late, so Alycia and I got started as they'd wished.
Honestly? It was a little weird, but the little cakes were delicious and Alycia's table etiquette was a sight to see, so this was all worth it.
I wasn't really sure how Alycia's parents felt about me at the moment to be honest. It had only been two days and yet they still made no effort to show me what they were thinking. Alycia assured me that was just their personality, but I wasn't so sure...
"Oh, look, my parents are here," Alycia pointed out, her eyes on the door.
I followed her line of sight, looking to the door on the side of their house (mansion) that led outside where we were sat, overlooking one of their many well-kept gardens. She was right – her parents were here, but they weren't alone.
"Erm, who's that?" I asked, quietly, so only Alycia would hear me. There was a random man stood trailing behind her parents as they approached the table we were sat at.
Alycia was smiling on the outside as the two of us stood up, but I could see the confusion in her eyes. "Not gonna lie, Y/N. I have no idea."
I wasn't really liking where this was going, especially since Alycia was as clueless as I was, but nonetheless, I plastered a smile on my lips and watched as the three figures stopped by the table.
"Ah, girls, sorry we're late," her father apologised, and honestly, I'd never seen him look so happy in the whole time I'd met him. Something wasn't right. "I was waiting for Clayton."
At this comment, he patted the guy's – I guess, Clayton's – back, causing them both to chuckle. The guy was pretty tall, young, handsome, well-dressed... well, shit, I definitely wasn't liking where this was going.
"Sweetie, sorry we're late," Alycia's mum apologised to her, and when she looked my way, I felt like she was apologising to me too, but rather more for what was about to go down. Shit, shit, shit.
"It's fine," Alycia got out, keeping up her smile. She spared Clayton a glance before meeting her father's eyes. "I thought it was just us for tea, dad?"
Her father merely shrugged before motioning to Clayton. "Yes, but I bumped into Clayton here yesterday and thought he'd make a great addition to this event! You remember Clayton, right, sweetie?"
Alycia's forced smile was slowly being replaced with a look of confusion. Meanwhile, I was awkwardly rocking back and forth on my heels and trying not to think about what was happening.
"Charlie and Maggie's boy," her dad explained. "Remember?"
Alycia still seemed lost, and as each second passed, I was slowly losing my mind.
"We were in primary school together," Clayton spoke, a smile on his lips. "We had Miss Penny together?"
Alycia narrowed her eyes as she studied him, attempting to put two and two together. "Clayton... Clayton... wait, I think I– Clay? The kid who had that massive nosebleed in the school play?"
Clayton chuckled awkwardly, looking down to his shoes. "That was– yeah, that was me.
Alycia stifled a laugh as she nodded. "Wow, it's been a long time. I guess, how have you been?"
"Good! Good...," he said cheerfully. I wanted to fall asleep right now, that's how dry this conversation was. "I'm actually in the estate agency business now."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah..."
"Pretty big step up from primary school, eh?" I joked as I tried to make myself present, only to cringe internally at my choice to speak because literally everyone looked my way. The only person who didn't have daggers in her eyes, excluding Alycia, was Alycia's mother. She looked like she was amused, if anything.
"Erm, this is my girlfriend, Y/N Y/L/N," Alycia introduced me. "Y/N, this is–"
"Clayton from primary school, I got that," I cut her off, smiling dryly. Thankfully, nobody got offended, but Alycia did send me a confused stare.
"Girlfriend...?" Clayton seemed surprised, but he overcame that pretty quickly as he smiled in my direction. "Nice to meet you, (your name pronounced wrong)–"
"It's Y/N," I corrected him through gritted teeth and a fake smile.
"Right," he did the same. "Sorry."
There was an awkward, tension-filled silence in the air as Clayton checked out Alycia pretty obviously. I didn't bother hiding the glare I was sending him.
"So, shall we get started?" Alycia's dad asked rhetorically, clapping his hands together.
I clenched my jaw as I looked between them both. I didn't think I could stand sitting through a bloody afternoon tea with this guy. God help me.
"...and so I knew I had to buy the car off him," Clayton was telling another one of his boring stories as I sipped from my tea. "It holds too many good memories to simply let go of!"
Alycia's dad chuckled like he'd said the funniest thing in the world whilst Alycia and her mum smiled politely. I wanted to leave. I hated it here and it was very obviously why Alycia's dad had invited Clayton here in the first place. Clayton was just as I expected him to be – rich, boring and ogling my girlfriend – and there was nothing I could do except sit and put up with it.
All tea time, Alycia's dad was asking Clayton questions about his life, whilst trying to involve Alycia and engage them both in conversation. Not once had I been spoken to, unless you counted the few times Alycia tried to involve me with an apologetic look in her eyes. So, I hated it here. And I wanted to leave.
"I've actually bought the car with me if you want to see it," Clayton said to Alycia's dad. "It's parked out front. A wonder, really."
"Oh, how exciting!" he exclaimed, before looking to Alycia. "Why don't we go and take a look?"
Alycia quirked a brow, trying to remain polite. "As much as I'd love that, I'm actually a little tired. I think Y/N and I might go upstairs to relax a little."
Yes, yes, yes. We can leave!
"I'm sure Y/N won't mind if you meet her up there, right, Y/N?" her dad asked, looking to me, before saying to Alycia, "It'll only be a moment, darling, c'mon. Clayton is a guest. We can see him off also."
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, but said, "It's fine, Alycia, I'll see you after. Your father is right. You should see off your guest.”
Even saying it aggravated me, but the sooner she went, the sooner Clayton would be gone and the sooner I wouldn't have to see him again.
"Very well," Alycia agreed reluctantly, before standing up. "Shall we?"
We all stood up and I was relieved when I walked in a different direction to them, instead going upstairs to our room to collapse on the bed and mentally switch off.
I'd love to say that that was the last I ever saw of Clayton, but it wasn't.
The next morning, when I thought I was going to eat breakfast with my girlfriend in peace, we came downstairs to find Clayton in the kitchen chatting with Alycia's parents. There was an assortment of muffins and pastries in a basket next to them and I instantly where this was going.
"Alycia, my dear, good morning!" her father said with a smile, stretching out his arm to hug her.
She was as confused as I looked, but hugged her father. "Morning, dad. What's all this?" Glancing at Clayton, she nodded. "Clay, hi."
"Clayton here thought he'd stop by to surprise us with breakfast," her dad explained. "Isn't that thoughtful?"
"Sure is...," Alycia agreed awkwardly.
"Your dad said chocolate croissants are your favourites, so there's a few in there for you," Clayton added with a smile, and the way he was staring at her was enough to make me want to throw up, but I simply stared daggers into his head instead.
"I really appreciate it," Alycia said kindly, "but Y/N and I were actually going to head out for breakfast."
At this, everyone looked to me and I was so used to being ignored in that moment that I suddenly felt nervous.
"It was very nice of you to get the muffin basket though," I said uncomfortably. "Looks like some... great options."
Just kill me now.
"Right... well, Clayton is going to be hanging about here today. We're talking business. So, if you're up for a good old catch up, you know where to find him," Alycia's father said to her.
"I will, dad, thanks," Alycia said with a small smile, before approaching me.
I nodded at him before letting Alycia drag me out of there. Only when we were gone did she stop to look at me apologetically.
"I had no idea he was going to be here again," she said guiltily. "I don't know what my dad is up to, but it's certainly not fair on you."
I shrugged uncomfortably. "I knew he didn't like me, but this is a little weird."
"I'll talk to him," Alycia promised, cupping my face and finding my eyes with hers. "He shouldn't be doing this."
I nodded, not sure I could do much else other than agree, and she pulled me in for a tight hug before letting go.
"Breakfast's on me," she promised, kissing my hand. "Let's go."
So, whatever chat Alycia had with her father didn't seem to do the job.
Later that same day, I was lounging around and watching TV by myself whilst Alycia was supposed to be hanging around with her mum. But when I finally got up to find her, hoping to join them to cure my boredom, I couldn't seem to locate either of them. And it definitely didn't help that the Debnam-Careys residence was too large for me to search without an inkling to where they could be.
I tracked down one of the staff members, finding the nearest one and hoping they could help. She was a young-ish girl, older than me but still younger than the other staff here, and seemed friendly enough.
"Sorry to bother you, but have you seen Alycia anywhere?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah, she's out horse riding," the girl answered with a smile.
Barely remembering where she could be doing that since Alycia's tour had already flown from my mind, I asked the staff member, "Thank you. Sorry, what's your name?"
"Millie," she quipped, before suppressing a laugh when she saw my confusion. "Do you need directions to the field?"
I smiled sheepishly. "Am I that obvious?"
She chuckled before saying, "It's just outside. Walk past the shed over there–" She pointed her finger out of the doors from the dining room, "–and it's the one on your left. You won't miss her."
I sighed with relief. "Cheers, Millie. You're a lifesaver."
She nodded. "Anytime."
Following her instructions, I headed outside and tried not to get lost amongst the greenery. Just when I was on track, I turned to the left and indeed found the correct space where Alycia was horse riding. I began to smile as I approached, but then I stopped when I saw she was with Clayton. What the hell was he still doing here?
Her father was there too, watching from the sidelines, but my eyes were glued to Alycia who was sat on her horse as Clayton sat on his, the two of them side by side and chatting with smiles on their faces. I knew Alycia probably got dragged into entertaining him by her father – she had an inability to say no to her parents, I'd noticed. And I also knew that she didn't like Clayton like that, but it still stung a little to see them together.
Despite her wealth and class, she'd only ever been my Alycia. Nothing intimidating about her. And it was definitely more of a me problem, but seeing her like this... horse riding for God's sake, and with a handsome man who was dressed to impress and had heart eyes for her, only made me feel like I didn't really belong here. She was the daughter of a bloody millionaire and I was me. I'd never even saved ten grand, let alone millions.
And yes, this wasn't her problem. She still loved me for me. And I wasn't usually the insecure type. But right now, seeing her, maybe I was starting to become that.
Not wanting to interrupt and definitely not in the greatest of moods anymore, I returned to the house, sulking.
"Did you find her?" Millie asked, and I was surprised she cared enough to.
"Yeah, thank you. She's horse riding alright," I answered, before scowling to nobody in particular. "With Mr Sucky-Handsome Face."
Millie frowned a little, sensing my disappointment. "Is everything okay?"
I sighed deeply. "Oh, yeah, everything's great. Just having the time of my life watching some dude check out my girlfriend in front of me and try to steal her away. Nothing much."
Okay, so I was salty and it was very unprofessional of me to air my grievances to the staff, but I couldn't help it. Alycia wasn't here and I had nobody else to talk to.
"That's shit," Millie said, surprising me. "Sounds like you need to take your mind off it.
I smiled dryly. "If only it were that easy."
"Well, I was going to start baking some dessert for dinner tomorrow," she said, before suggesting, "Maybe you'd like to help? You could prepare something special for Alycia. I'm sure she'd love that."
I glanced at her. "Really? I can do that?"
Millie laughed. "Of course you can! C'mon. Kitchen's this way."
Surprised that she was offering to cheer me up and also that she was so chill to be around, I smiled a little. "Wow, thanks, Millie."
I spent the remainder of the afternoon helping Millie bake some cupcakes in the kitchen, whilst she also helped me put together a little cake for Alycia. We only got as far as baking the cake part since she had to do her other duties as a staff member, but she promised I could help with the icing tomorrow and to say I was a little excited was an understatement. It certainly did the job of helping me forget about stupid Clayton and his inability to leave my girlfriend alone.
By the time the evening rolled around, Alycia and I were eating dinner by ourselves in one of the many dining rooms of the household. It was nice to finally have her to myself, since she'd been MIA all day, though at no fault of her own.
"So, I should probably tell you if you didn't already know," she began, "but I was hanging out with Clayton earlier today."
And just when I thought I'd forgotten about that.
"It was solely because my dad invited him over and basically dragged me away from my mum," she continued to explain, a hint of regret in her voice. "I really didn't want to."
I shrugged, focusing on my dinner plate. "You can't help it if your dad makes you. It's fine, Alycia."
"I told my dad to back off," she assured me, finding my hand on the table. "He claims it's a business venture. An opportunity."
I almost snorted, but remained cool. An opportunity, sure. An opportunity to steal my girlfriend.
"I don't know what he's told Clayton, but I've made it very obvious I'm taken," she said with conviction, tugging my hand and finally earning my attention. Her eyes were searching mine. "He's nothing to worry about, okay?"
I awkwardly began to smile, really not enjoying this conversation. "I know, Alycia."
She didn't seem convinced, but clearly sensing my discomfort, she dropped the topic. With a nod, she let go of my hand and grabbed her fork to twirl her pasta. Meanwhile, I felt icky at the mere thought of Clayton hanging around her again. Why did Alycia's dad hate me that much that he'd try to set his daughter up with some guy whilst I'm right here? Talk about rude!
"So, what did you get up to today?" Alycia asked, thankfully changing the subject. "You weren't bored, I hope?"
As I remembered this afternoon's events, I began to smile, excited to share with Alycia. "Not at all. There's this girl that works here. Millie? Well, she let me help her bake some cupcakes in the kitchens. Which, by the way, your kitchen's huge."
Alycia tried not to laugh as she watched me. "That sounds lovely. So, where are these cupcakes? Do I get a taste?"
"They're not finished yet," I told her with amusement. "Tomorrow's dessert, love. Also, there may or may not be an extra surprise for you."
"Oh, now you have to tell me more," she insisted, and I laughed at her curious expression.
"It wouldn't be a surprise then, idiot," I reminded her. "Tomorrow. You'll find out tomorrow."
She sighed dramatically but nodded. "Very well. It better be dessert-related. All this talk of cupcakes is making me hungry."
"So what I'm hearing is you wanna go on a dessert run," I said with a nod, already convinced.
Her smile widened. "Hell yeah. Finish your pasta and let's go."
I rolled my eyes at her childishness, but did just that. Maybe today wasn't so bad after all and I was just overthinking it.

If Cavernous ever WAS adapted to a visual medium, what other ideas do you have for shooting locations, actors, etc?
So like, my boring answer is that IRL if i was approached for an adaptation I ............ actually very much would not option the rights 😅
BUT if we ignore the boring answer? 👀 WELL.
Reiterating this ancient post I made about it - I'd want a 9-10 ep. series on Starz showrun by Catherine Hardwicke and starring Zazie Beetz as Joanna 100%. I actually don't have a ton of strong preferences for the other cast members! I have some faceclaims, but for most of those, idk if they'd work actor wise? Here's some ideas --
Irina - Maybe Alycia Debnam-Carey (she's a bit too young though) or Phoebe Tonkin?
Carmen - Auliʻi Cravalho is the obvious choice, and a pretty good one, but the vibes/look are not a bullseye!
Luka - Simon Baker.... but he's too old now. Could Sam Reid do it?????? I'd sure like to see him with the mustache.
Tati: Jodie Whittaker......? HM
The others are a huge question mark for me idk! Consider me open for suggestions!!
I imagine a huge ammt of it would have to be shot on a lot, but otherwise I think it would be a dream to shoot on location in Türkiye and Georgia. Locations like uhhh this cave monastery, and this cave monastery, oh and also this cave monastery? Or any number of mind-bogglingly cool historical sites/churches/ruins in this area. I think Cappadocia would cover a lot of ground on its own!
Ironically I'd probably shoot a lot of the caving-caving stuff in the USA's version of Georgia, because of Ellison's Cave, idk (and i highly doubt!) if you can get permits to film in here, but since this is a fantasy hypothetical world, I say I can. She's a stunner and very visually similar to Krubera, which is my fictional cave's sister cave, geographically.
......... and like, now that I'm here, thinking about it, if I couldn't get Hardwicke...... I'd want Baz and Catherine on it .................... 👀 omg. Wait. No. Omg...... can u imagine...
anyway, this is literally such a meandering answer aldkjfl;akjf and I don't want to go all the way down this rabbit hole because I think this story works best as a book! But ty for the ask, this is a fun thought experiment!

LAST SONG YOU LISTENED TO: Sweet Emotion
FAVORITE MUSE(S) YOU’VE WRITTEN: Daryl and Ethan. I just love their dynamics.
GET TO KNOW THE ACCOUNT !!
★  ⸻   WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TAKE THIS MUSE?
While Ethan is currently my favorite muse to write, Emily was my first ever. She has gone thorugh some changes over the years, but I watched Hemlock Grove and stumbled upon the RPC here on Tumblr. I love to write and it seemed like it could be really fun to throw her into a variety of situations and aus. As far as her creation, she just sort of popped up while watching the show. I tend to imagine a lot of 'what ifs' for movies/shows that I enjoy. The muse sort of comes together on their own after that.
★  ⸻   WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ASPECTS OF YOUR CURRENT MUSE?
For Oscar, it's his convictions. For Ofreyja, her spontaneity and almost sickeningly positive outlook on life. For Ethan, his unapologetic sense of self. For Emily, her artistic ability. For Gage, his career. For Silas, his naivety for life - he has big, unguarded heart.
★  ⸻   WHO’S YOUR CURRENT FC?
Ethan : Dylan O’Brien
Ofreyja: Gabriella Wilde
Gage: Cole Sprouse
Silas: Boyd Holbrook
Emily: Emily Rudd
Oscar: Tom Hardy
Sydney: Alycia Debnam-Carey
Ivy: Ana De Armas
★  ⸻   WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION WHEN IT COMES TO WRITING?
Weed and music. Also semi-solitude.  I don’t like people reading over my shoulder tbh and like to be left alone while I write. I get in the zone and it can be frustrating to be pulled from it in the middle of its peak. XD
★  ⸻   FAVORITE TYPES OF THREADS?
I adore ships and angst. But fluff is a close second.
