Had no idea there was a community of roll coaster enthusiasts who also draw art of humanized roll coasters with FULL LORE and big enough to have bots on a chat websites…… I’m fascinated.

May I offer... Some voices for your coasters?

Coaster Control

A more spooky esc drawing with the Alton Towers TMM trio! I thought of the 3 having a sorta "coaster control mode" where they act more like their coaster themeing.

So Silly would be more giddy and laugh a lot more since she's The Smiler. Bex would become a lot more quick in her movements, with her sense of fear being heightened too because of it, also tieing in with Spinball Whizzer. Then Stacy would talk more quietly and calmly, floating a bit, while little stars and constellations orbit her, of course, tieing in with Galactica.

This was a REALLY fun drawing to make, and I'm glad I took that break from drawing and posting art. My creative gears needed to take a break and to relax really, and I've been sick the past couple of days, so that is also what made me stop drawing for a bit. I'm still a bit sniffly now, but I'm definitely better than I was a few days earlier. I can't wait to be posting more about these 3! They're one of my favourite AUs I've made so far- like come on- it's the Too Many Misadventures trio mixed with Alton Towers coasters- it's a recipe for perfection.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how extra Alton Towers is? Like, they close a popular ride for a year for a revamp or something, and they give us so much LORE. They are really feeding the fandom and I am here for it!

OOOH DO I HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT MY PHALANX/NEMESIS SUB TERRA LORE

Each ride at Alton towers has an ‘avatar’. A humanoid entity that represents the ride itself. If the ride is damaged they will feel pain, etc etc. the avatars cannot be killed, unless their respective ride is shut down or dismantled. They cannot go too far away from the park or else they will slowly die. It’s not a fun way to go.

Matthew was patrolling the area of the new, re-opened nemesis sub Terra ride when he saw what he thought was a small child. After a while he noticed the kid was a mini humanoid nemesis.. thing. Instead of reporting it to his superiors, he took a second and thought ‘this is a literal child.’. He knew if he told the rest of phalanx this kid would be kept under horrific conditions and experimented on. So he did what any responsible adult would do and he kidnapped the small child.

He now thinks of himself as a sort of dad to the mini nemisis. He lives in the incredibly nearby town of Alton so thankfully Nellie (he named her Nellie and she is the cutest little alien creature in the galaxy) will not die from being too far away. it has been a bit of a hassle to hide this from the phalanx, but he tries.

Introducing DR E. WARREN

(Just call them Warren.)

As a 16 year old desperate for cash and to get away from a bad home, Warren agreed to join a medical trial, but unknown to them it was luring from the Oblivion Project operating under the Ministry of Joy for something far worse- Experimenting with Void on human subjects.

As the only survivor, they spent years recovering from the physical and mental trauma, but they weren't catching a break yet. With the connection to the Void remaining, the Lord of Darkness had access to their mind, silently influencing them to further his own pursuits (which I talk a little more about Here).

Eventually they were free of his influence, but by that point 12 years had passed, and they found themself working as a biochemical scientist and researcher working with Oblivion, and making it to the very role of the people who experimented on them...

...They don't like to talk about their history too much, especially not those early days of working under the Ministry of the Lord of Darkness.

Now though, they act as Head of the Oblivion Project, and have been a leading force in the push for high ethical standards of practice and making strides in medical research using Void.

They also met an unfortunate demise and subsequent revival as a result of some... Encounters related to the Invitation, but does it really matter if the one in charge of Oblivion also happens to be a vampire?

Personally I don't see a problem with it.

They also have a giant Void lizard named Gus (short for Gustopher)

despite the joking around and posts I’ve made and tags all that, im glad alton towers is gaining a following. It genuinely helped me a lot in 2020 and really inspired me to be more creative with my art and try to improve with character design.

It’s nice to see new people really like these characters (to some degree they are.whatever who cares about logistics) and story

And I hope older members and I can make this a welcoming, supportive, and genuinely fun space for anyone. I know I really appreciated the kind intro I got to this community ^_^

Was anyone going to tell me there's an alton towers fandom with oc's and incorrect quotes, or was I supposed to find out while looking for reviews of rollercoasters myself?

So this is something completely out of the ordinary for you guys! remember when I mentioned I was getting something ready for TMM that involved a certain interest if mine that got me started in posting on DA about my characters? Well if you guessed Alton Towers, you're correct! (pun intended-) I was gonna wait until I had all 3 of them drawn to start posting their own respective drawings, but I just finished this and I have to show it, I'm too proud of it. Basically, what I'm doing is drawing Bex, Silly and Stacy dressed up like personified versions of some of the coasters at Alton Towers! Silly is, you guessed it, The Smiler! I decided this mainly based on vibes and also what they would choose themselves (so like Bex WOULDN'T choose The Smiler since it would spook her, whilst Silly would). I decided Silly would be dressed like The Smiler mainly because of how she'd like the theme song. That and also the style of clothing the advocates wear (which is what her outfit is based off of) she'd also find cool too :] Anyways that's all I gotta say. Is this another AU where the 3 are instead Alton Ride spirits? Yeah, knowing me that's most likely the case. But hey, it's opening season for theme parks now, might aswell have some Alton Towers fun while I'm at it! Hahaha!

hello im sorry to break this to u all but i revamped my alton ocs

i dont rlly feel like getting into why cuz its kinda just cringe ass mental health stuff lol so now id rather not be associated with those guys (and also my friend doesn't use their alton ocs anymore either so I would obviously have to change the lore)

now theyre just a ragtag group loosely based on the ideas of the coasters, but not actually having the lore or connections of the coaters, just aesthetics/some names staying the same

(and before anyone says anything, there is no smiler. I was gonna revamp him but I literally couldn't think of anything to make him a character I'd enjoy using so he's just not here, sorry guys)

A Thought About Tim Burton AUs For Alton Towers Fandom

Just something that hit me recently -- we’re all aware at this point that I ship my version of The Smiler with Victor Van Dort from Corpse Bride (as part of a threesome with Alice from American McGee’s Alice), and I’m quite happy to do so, but I think if you were going to adapt the plot of any Tim Burton film into an AU featuring the Alton Tower coasters, the one to pick would be The Nightmare Before Christmas. Mostly because -- well. The vast majority of the “secret weapon” coasters (Nemesis, Oblivion, Th13teen, The Smiler, Wickerman) have theming that paints them as evil and dangerous and scary. But the whole point of the coasters’ existence is for people to have fun. And what are some of the ending lyrics from the famous “This is Halloween?”

Tender lumplings everywhere Life’s no fun without a good scare That’s our job but we’re not mean In this town of Halloween

So yeah, I don’t know how you’d do the actual plot of the movie, but the coasters as denizens of Halloween Town could totally be a thing.
