DRDT Dev changed some of the sprites!!

heres differences that I found but let me know if anyone found any other differences. Left sprite is the new sprite, the right sprite is the old one

I wonder what the necklace on "Bullet"'s sprite is supposed to mean... (oh crap i forgot to circle the left sprite on "swirl"'s scarf)

So according to this post, we got new designs. But this is what confuses me

Yeah, they didn't change unless I'm blind.(I have 20/10 vision with no vision help whatsoever)

But on that note of designs, I noticed something.

(I'm calling him Bullet btw) Bullet has a tag on, and if you zoom in on it...

You can make out the middle thing. "Number ####" Assuming this is logical the bottom ### is probably actual numbers and the top is his name.

Or maybe the middle is his occupation(Credits to someone in a DC server I'm in) like Arturo

Or maybe I'm overthinking it like usual. IDK I'm bored

Another DRDTDev Danganronpa Fanganronpa - Lunar Calendar Zodiac Cast Motif

This cast follows a Sheng Xiao (The lunar calendar zodiac or umm, the 'Chinese zodiac') motif, right ?

I don't have many feelings regarding these characters because we only have designs and some abstract ARG text connections however just by engaging with these designs where they're at it feels clear to me that there is a throughline of animal motifs all of which align with the 12 animals assigned to each year in the lunar calendar cycle.

Only really pointing this out because I'm having trouble identifying this connection for two characters in particular - If anyone could help me in tying this specific character character to an animal it would be greatly appreciated since I think that this would both lead us to identifying the basis for the mascot as well as potentially discussing certain attributes of the characters characterization in the future whenever they do yield more significance.

For the purpose of this post being read with more universal ease, the characters will be labeled by numbers reading from left to right.

1 - Ox

4 - Rabbit

5 - Snake

6 - Rooster

7 - Dog

8 - Sheep

9 - Tiger

10 - Dragon

11 - Pig

The only three remaining are the monkey, the rat & the horse - the only currently unidentified characters are the mascot, #2 & #3 - if anyone could point me towards any ideas that might help making this connection easier I would greatly appreciate it though it may just not be possible until we see the mascot.

i LOVE making aus with a target audience of one person (1) by blendering two of my current interests together. this truly was our despair time.

everyone except mai's "sprites" are drawn based on official sprites, and they're meant to be height accurate! or, uh, a valiant attempt was made. at the very least i got to practice drawing everyone 🎉

(complete but constantly changing AU & character notes under cut: LOTS and i mean LOTS of yapping down there. spoilers up to chapter 2 and literature girl insane MV. content warning for "standard danganronpa stuff"; the hidden text in here is about the same level as drdt's hidden tumblr page quotes)

first up is a quick crash course on limbus company! that being said, i don't think i explained myself well at all, so i recommend just checking out the official website. or straight up playing it. i'm happy to answer any and all questions, though, whether here or in my limbus-centric main (@iamjustagremlin)!

and now here are the character notes. i have a Lot to say.

one more minor thing i'm 99% sure forgot to include and am too lazy to fix: the canon sinners are each assigned a color code and a cool descriptor (it doesn't even need to be an adjective. cool factor always wins), such as "oblivion yellow", "dreamy gray", and "inferno red". my brain won't let me tackle these yet, but my first attempt for xander was "courageous crimson", and my first attempt for teruko was "cursed clover".

(also, if you squint at the character notes for long enough, there might be even more to read... it's not much, but it's honest work. do note that it should be about as "heavy" as drdt's hidden tumblr page quotes)

WAIT. I THINK I MIGHTVE SCREWED THIS UP. I THINK OTHER PEOPLE ALSO DIDNT SPEAK IN THE CLOSING ARGUMENT SAYS SOMEONE

well, apparently it's a day for misreading things and making hasty assumptions, because I misread "closing argument" as "scrum debate," assumed you were talking about DRDT, and wrote a whole lot of analysis about the makeup of scrum debates and how placement might affect the DRDT's Ch2 killer. expect that in a separate post in, like... half an hour or something? gotdamb i am a fool.

but, yes, Eden's Garden, the closing argument, and mastermind theories! i'm going back to the official prologue walkthrough video (part 2) to see who talked and in what order, writing it down here. the people who participate are:

Damon -> Ingrid -> Jean -> Diana -> Grace -> Desmond -> Cassidy -> Ulysses -> Eloise -> Jett -> Wolfgang -> Eva -> Damon

since there are 12 unique individuals who speak, and there are a full 16 participants, that means 4 people don't speak: Kai, Mark, Toshiko, and Wenona.

well, that makes them all a little suspicious. but, it's true, having Mark be one of four people who don't contribute does draw less suspicion to him specifically, and thus, makes it less likely that that was meant to be a clue that Mark was the mastermind. i wonder what all of the characters' reasons were for not wanting to speak up...

for Mark, i'd assume it's because he's shy, and for Wenona, I would assume it's because she's not a team player. Toshiko and Kai are weird to me, though. sure, you could say that Toshiko was insecure about being younger and therefore potentially less informed about what happened than her older peers, but that take is the opposite of what i remember of Toshiko's personality thus far. Kai, as i previously argued, loves to talk, so his disinvolvement is weird. but, maybe he just figured that this specific part wasn't worth his time. he's here to slay (in the good way), not talk about who else slayed in the past.

what i will say is that all four of these characters not talking in this Closing Argument boosts their odds that they will be neither the Chapter 1 victim nor killer, in my opinion. given the inclusion of this prologue Trial in the first place, it really seems like the P:EG crew wanted everyone to be able to participate in the Class Trial. obviously, they were missing some things (like Scrum Debates...), but at least everyone gets a line in a Nonstop Debate, you feel? with this Closing Argument format, i would think that it would be really easy to give each character at least one line in a Closing Argument, as long as you give the victim (and probably killer, because most killers likely wouldn't want to help Damon and co solve the murder they tried to create) a line in this one.

i'd still probably leave Mark in the spot where i just put him, though. if not, Eva and Wolfgang are kind of a block in my mind, so i'd probably move him below those two, but still above Kai. your point about his absence still stands, and could still make him suspicious.

Theory Time!

DRDT Alt is the killing game Teruko was talking about in CH2 Episode 2.

It's clear DRDT Alt has some connections to the canon DRDT, such as white haired person with the XF symbol. However, if it is indeed the killing game Teruko talked about, it can tie up other theories about the Alt cast.

(Using my personal names for them!)

Teacher could be Teruko's younger/older brother.

Queen is the actress Arturo talked about in his VA trailer, whom he performed surgery on.

Smile is a worker for XF, the company Min met in order to become the Ultimate Student.

I don't think all 11 cast members have a connection to the DRDT cast, but some certainly do. And this being the same killing game Teruko talked about? I think some loose knots are to be tied tighly.
