Author's note: Hey guys! I hope you like this one! Also, thank you so much for your support! About the gif I have chosen, I can't really decide if it's suitable or not but I loved it. I decided ro post this one today due to Valentine's day. I personally hate this day, but have a ggod day you all lovebirds out there! Happy Valentine's day to all of you!
Pairing: Hvitserk x Reader.
Genre: Romance, angst, drama, fluff.
Summary: People talking a lot about Hvitserk's woman and that's not you.
Warnings: Jealousy.
You laid on your bed exhausted from this day. You prayed to the gods for it to end. All day you were finishing some of the last works that had to be done before the winter comes. The warriors would come back too from their trips. They left the spring and came back summer. Then all winter people was talking about their trips and raids. Your heart was pounding to your chest every day and night. You missed him. The man you loved. Prince Hvitserk. The third son of king Ragnar Lothbrok. You were a common woman. The dauter of a farmer. Well, a dead farmer. You were all alone, with no family to care about. The person you cared about was Hvitserk. You were praying to all the gods for him to come back.
You had listened men on the market talking about your beloved prince. Well, not exactly for him, but for one succeed raid. A wanderer spread the word around Kattegat. You couldn't be happier, but that wasn't the only thing he said. He said that the young prince Hvitserk had found himself a woman, a foreigner. That broke your heart but you were happy for him. You knew that you weren't the woman he deserved. You had your fun, he had his fun with the most women of Kattegat, but he told you that all that stopped when he met you ans laid for first time with you. You loved this guy and you had to be, you were, happy about he and his new woman, but you needed some time, that you took. You were laying on this bed after a month and you were still praying for he and his brothers to come back safe and sound.
You slept peacefully, dreaming about a happy life married with Hvitserk and having a lot of children running around your house. Hvitserk was eating and you were holding your youngest child on your hands. He was happy seeing all those little beasts running hear and there. That dream was coming to you every night. It was a good dream but in some ways it was bad too. It hurt you because you could never have this live that you were dreaming about.
The next morning people cheered about the ships that finally were on the dock. Men came out of there and they reunited with their wives, children, mothers and fathers. You had none to reunite with. You just smiled ear to ear when you spotted Hvitserk from far. You saw that he and also his brothers were healthy, they were all standing and that made you smile even more than before.
You had already found all that things you needed and you retrieved back to your favorite spot, you little farm. You took care of your little house and some slaves that you treated them like your family, not your property. You loved them and they loved you back. They about the prince and your relationship with. It wasn't a secret.
He jumped out of that ship and his eyes run impatiently around just to find a familiar face, but he didn't found you. He frowned. You had always been there since he told you that he stopped seeing other women and you were the only one inside his heart, you were kind of together, but it wasn't official, not even to you. You both didn't know what it was that. You met at nights when everyone was sleeping or doing other things and laid together all night and when the sun came out you left him alone or he did it to you. It was just how things happened, but he wantes more. He needed you more. He needed you the bright hours of day when the sun was up. He had the night under the light of the moon, but he wanted you every single time of the day. That was kind of impossible, you had your jobs on your farm and he was messing around with his brothers doing what a prince do, when he did.
"Are you looking specifically for someone?" Sigurd mocked him and he frowned even more. He didn't like his brothers talking about you or talking to you. It just took out of him his jealousy, that it was kind of fun. You didn't have many chances to see him angry, he was always so flirtatious, but you liked him just the way he was and he liked you back. "I mean about that farmer of yours." He continued and Ubbe looked at him, like he was warning Sigurd stop talking. That last days he was more annoying than usual. He wasn't mean just to Ivar, like always, but he opened his mouth about his other brothers too. Hvitserk didn't mind him talking about himself but talking about you wasn't okey with him. He was about to attack him but Ubbe stopped him by pulling him away from Sigurd and closer to him.
"Just don't get bothered by Sigurd. You should be bothered about that woman of yours. (Y/N). Why isn't she here? Just go find her or first we should find out what's going on here and then you have all the time to spend with (Y/N)." Ubbe spoke to him smiling and Hvitserk did the same. He was dreaming about you every night too. Your hair, your eyes, your laugh, everything about you. Your name was music to his ears, not the music that Sigurd played.
You continued your jobs. Your clothes, face, hands, all of you were covered in dirt and mud. You didn't want to stop, you were far behind to stop. All that worry about Hvitserk left behind, but you didn't regret it. Hvitserk was worth it.
Everyone was talking about his new woman and why they hadn't seen her. Even your thralls were talking about her. Some people were saying that she was so beautiful, like no woman in all Norway. They said that her eyes were the most beautiful eyes that a human being had. They even said that she was a goddess or one of the Valkyries. You couldn't be compared to that woman. You could be compared to a goddess or a Valkyrie or even a princess.
Your hands wasn't soft like the hands that princesses or daughters of earls had. Your hands hurt and they were rough. The works your had to do to your farm wasn't allow you to have soft hands. You worked hard for your leaving and your slaves leaving. You could free them like you did to the most them. You didn't want to have people as property. You had only the closest ones. The only ones you needed their help.
When the night came, you laid to that bed of yours again, as exhausted as the day before this one, but a loud noice didn't let you sleep. Someone had entered your house. Your slaves listened it too. They were up. You motioned them to stop, you could handle this one. You would protect them, as a good master would do. You took an old sword that belonged to your father and has ready to attack whoever had entered here. The man beat easily. You were an awful fighter, you were no shieldmaiden, yoh were just a farmer. You weren't like Lagertha and that man wasn't just a man. That man was Hvitserk. He looked at the old sword on his hand and thenback at you, who stood up quickly.
"That old thing can't do nothing. I'll give you a new one, a sharper one, little shieldmaiden." He said playfully and a smirk was formed on his face. He dropped the sword on the ground, you took it on your hands and placed it where it was in the first place.
"I'm not a shieldmaiden and you know it. I'm just a farmer, my prince." You spoke softly. He was facing your back, so he couldn't see your eyes. You had never called him my prince, you had always called him just Hvitserk and listening to you calling him that was strange. He frowned in confusion. Something was going on for sure, now he know it too. First, you weren't on the docks to greet him, like any other time and now you were calling him your prince and not by his name. He stepped closer to you and turned you around so he could face you.
"Dismiss them. I need to talk to you, (Y/N)." He spoke and you did as he said by nodding at them. They did the same and they left you two alone. You turned to him again and waited for him to say something. You wanted him to leave. It was more painful to see him standing before you, wanting to say something to you.
"What is it, my prince? Did I do something wrong?" You muttered and he was furious now at you. He didn't understand what was happening. The only thing he could think about your change was that yiu had found another man.
"What's wrong with you?" He yelled and grabbed your arm, your eyes stuck there, on his hand on yours. He was angry, out of his mind. It was one of that rare moments that his jealousy was taking over him. "How is he? Tell me, I want his name. I want a name!" He yelled and you frowned. You were the one who couldn't understand him now. How could he thing such a thing about you, when he was the one who was about to marry another woman that people were talking about her like she was Freya? "Is he better than me right? What an idiot I am! Of course he is! I had always known you deserve someone worthy, not me, but doesn't mean that a can accept it, (Y/N)." He looked hurt. You had never seen him like that before. His hand left from your arm and placed to your cheek. He caressed it softly, like it was the most precious thing in Midgard. Something was off about all this.
"How can you say things like that? Do you think I have found another man? That's impossible Hvitserk! That's impossible when you are stuck in my head! You can't say things like that when you are the one who brought back that woman that everyone is talking about her like she is a goddess!" You yelled and let hot tears stream down your cheeks. He frowned again. He hadn't brought any woman back. He hadn't laid eyes on any woman there where he went. You were the only woman that he wanted. That things about that woman were just rumors. He wanted only woman and she standing before him, crying because of him. That scene broke his heart.
His hands moved to both your cheeks and his thumb wiped away your tears. You opened your eyes and saw his green eyes, that you loved so much.
"No, there is no other woman. You are the only woman for me, (Y/N). When we were in those cities I was thinking only about you, I was even dreaming you. You are my goddess, (Y/N). There is no other woman for me. I can repeat you that every day." He spoke and you smiled at him. He dared to smile too. He formed just a little smile. "But I took something back from the raids." He spoke. He didn't let you ask. He pressed his soft lips on yours and kissed you passionately after a long time ago. You missed this kiss. You missed him. His hands wrapped around your waist and you jumped, wrapping your legs around his torso.
"Will you show me?" You asked him, when you pulled away and your foreheads were pressed together. He smiled, he didn't answer. He started walking to you chamber and when you were there, he placed you to your bed and he came on top of you. You thought that he would kiss you, but he didn't. He left from you and laid next to you. You tried to understand what he was up to, because he was plotting something. He had that face, that mischievous face. You narrowed your eyes to him. "What is it? Hvitserk you are scaring me!" You screamed and he laughed. He kissed your mouth again the same way as before and when he pulled away, he placed a ring on your face. It was a strange ring. It had jewels on it. It was beautiful. You looked at it frowned and confused. You didn't know what to think. He wasn't doing what was on your mind. "What-what is this?" You asked speechless. You could form a single word. You just couldn't, that caught you off guard, but that was Hvitserk. He had always been doing the unexpected. He laughed.
"I am asking you to marry me, silly girl." He spoke and before he could even end his saying, you kissed him. You were on top of him kissing him. You didn't expect this. You dreamed of it too many times, but never thought that it would actually happened some day. "I think that's a yes, isn't it?" He asked when you pulled away and you smiled widely and nodded.
"It is." You spoke and he smiled back to you, before he pressed his lips on yours again.
He was finally and officially yours and you his.

Tumblr media
A dark!Thor x Reader, minor Loki x Reader story with all the drama and angst you’re craving. Including Alexander Skarsgard as Balder.
–> Read also on AO3
Summary: The gods are being loved and feared in equal parts by their subjects, more the latter by the thousands of slaves working for them. Ten feet tall, powerful and immortal are the rulers of all beings within the Nine Realms. You, the daughter of an Asgardian merchant, fancy the three handsome princes of Odin - like any woman does - and dream of actually meeting them instead of watching them at public events. That is until, as a consequence of Loki’s tricks, you are being forced into slavery at the royal court. Amidst this harsh new reality, you catch the attention of the god of Thunder who then seeks to make you his alone. You are nothing but a toy, a puppet, in the god’s eyes and he will use you as he pleases.
Do not hope for mercy.
**** WARNING: dark story, manipulative Thor, heavy rape/non-con elements, no happy ending in sight
____________________________xXx____________________________
The common baths consisted of several large basins distributed among adjacent rooms, all joined by one antechamber from which the exit lead to the rest of the palace. At this hour, the lights decorating the richly painted walls were already dimmed and the little fountains here and there turned off. Silence hung over the damp, warm rooms and the mortal girl faded perfectly in, her small figure darting through the thin mist, the faint sound of her bare feet on the cool tiles swallowed by the long skirt swirling around her legs. For a few moments she vanished inside one of the adjacent rooms, then appeared again only to hurry into another. Obviously she was searching for something in vain. Turning her pretty head from side to side, the mortal stood in the middle of the antechamber and sighed deeply in frustration, unaware of the pair of eyes resting on her, observing and scrutinizing from not too far away.
Her dress was beige, plain and just like any other maid's, with the neckline almost covering the collarbones so that there was little skin showing except her arms. The piece of cloth was held in place mainly by two bronze clasps on each shoulder and would droop like a potato bag down to her ankles if not for the thin belt around her waist. Currently she had her hands stemmed in said location, her hips leaning cheekily to the left and her bosom protruding nicely. Still searching she turned around again, presenting her backside which was worth surveying too.
Out of drunkenness, curiosity or boredom, the silent observer then decided to make his presence known before the girl had the chance to leave. An unmistakable ripple of water echoed through the many rooms as he moved his large body in the basin, cutting the mist like a knife and startling the girl. Instantly she wheeled around in the direction of the sound and narrowed her eyes to peek through the curtain of mist. The bare lights in the adjacent room hampered a clear view from afar so the girl walked a little inside, each step cautiously taken. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw the blonde god sitting in the basin.
Can this night get any worse?
"Finally someone to pour me more wine!" Thor cheerfully held up his goblet, indicating for the girl to get moving, as he leaned against the edge of the basin. The foaming water covered him just up to his chest, leaving the rest above that line bare to behold. Tiny pearls of water mottled his sun-kissed skin, perfectly underlining the contour of each muscle in the dim light. In full awareness of his impressive physique, Thor looked expectantly at the girl across the basin.
Time for some fun.
Albeit with hesitation, _________ approached the god and picked up the large jug standing on the floor not too far away from the goblet it was meant to supply. It's within a large arm's reach - his reach! ________ thought sourly, her strained limbs protesting against the new effort. He seems to be in a good mood tonight but better not risk anything. With the image of the servant girl flying across the room in mind, she placed every step wisely as not to slip on the wet tiles or trip over her own feet. Luckily, the god had already emptied the jug by half – probably the source of his joyous spirits – and thus reduced the likelihood of spilling. Other dangers had evolved as a consequence, however, because Thor was mean and cruel even absent any alcohol.
The girl ignored the staring of the god as best as she could as she refilled the goblet in his hand, a strange shudder creeping up her spine. The crown-prince sensed her growing nervousness due to his presence, how she avoided to meet his intense gaze and how quickly she withdrew after pouring, creating more distance between them. It made him smirk. "It was you on the balcony the other day." he said and took a long sip, not averting his dark-blue orbs so as not to miss her reaction. Since it wasn't a question but rather a statement of known facts, ______ saw no point in denial and replied in a calm, professional fashion:
"Please forgive my blunt and disrespectful behavior, your highness! I didn-"
"Did you like what you saw?" Thor interrupted her, obviously not interested in her (boring) apologies, catching her completely off guard. Maybe he would screw out the desired reaction this way. What was she supposed to answer? The truth (It was smoking hot and kept her dreaming for over a week) or a lie (Your face looks ridiculous while fucking?). Hel no! Better come up with something in the middle.
"Well, it was pretty far away and with my myopia...I merely got the gist, your highness!"
A diplomatic and eloquent excuse, not exactly what the god had aimed for, nor what he was used from his personal slaves. Yet, come to think of it, Balder had mentioned her manners recently and how well she made up for the merchant's insolence. This new line of thoughts made the god drop the former topic and after a brief pause he spoke up again:
"My brother seems rather pleased by your services, so I have heard. But that leaves me wondering why you came to the common baths alone at this hour?" That's an easy one, just don't make some puns..._________ thought to herself as she collected some proper words.
"Prince Balder has already retired and sent me here to search for his golden bangle which appears to be missing, your highness." she replied, standing stiff like a column beside the bronze jug, a little away from the basin. The nervousness kept her fatigue at bay, but still she failed to realize what crucial detail of information had just slipped her mouth. In contrast to Thor, whose dark-blue eyes were aflame. "How fortunate..." he put the goblet down onto the tiles to his right and reached a little farther behind, grabbing something. "..that I found it earlier!" ________'s eyes widened at the sight of the bangle in the god's left hand, turning it playfully for her to behold the sparkling metal. "Imagine it was to fall into the wrong hands!" Thor's gaze traveled from the girl to the bangle and back again. Both knew he had her then - as if he hadn't had any power over her earlier. Everything ________ needed to do in order to get out of here and be finally reunited with her longed for bed, was to get that stupid bangle from the god. Easy as that.
"Please, if your highness would be as kind as to hand it to me, I could bring it to his owner!" she suggested, praying that he would agree and let her leave. "You mentioned that Balder is already sleeping, so why the hurry? Better keep me entertained some more!" The answer hit the girl like a slap across the face, her hopes destroyed, and with sagging expressions she watched as Thor put the bangle as far away as his arm would allow, impossible for her to obtain. Why can't he play nice?! As she silently cursed herself for not having considered her words earlier more wisely, the god grew impatient.
"Go on, dance for me!" His growl made her jump slightly and so she began to move, reluctantly at first - there was no music to rely on - but less so when she thought of a nice familiar tune. The sweet taste of wine flooded Thor's mouth while his other major senses were focused on the swaying hips of the maid. Again he mustered her, like he had briefly during the meeting in Loki's chambers hours ago. But this time he did so more thoroughly, his sparkling eyes raking slowly over her small body. Pretty without doubt but nothing compared to the stunning, flawless beauty of a goddess - that's what most men would conclude. But not so Thor. As the god drank in all the details of _________'s shape, every curve and every mark, he had to admit that this 'non-perfect composition' was rather attractive, even seducing. Due to the dress swirling around her, Thor had merely a vague idea of the flesh beneath and his curiosity grew with each of her alluring movements. Whether the alcohol was to blame or not, that girl had awoken something basic inside him, some deep secret desire that was finally surfacing - Thor could feel it as his mind-set switched to predator-mode. He wanted her to worship him, to beg for his attention. Suddenly he had an idea and reached behind, trading the goblet for the bangle again. At the same time, the girl had stopped dancing, her movements dying away as did the inaudible song in her ears.
"You want that, right?" A superfluous question, judging from the way the girl's eyes were glued to the bangle in his hand. Oh how he enjoyed having power over others. "Then go get it!" ________'s eyes followed the metal as it slipped through the god's loose fingers and fell into the water, sliding down to the bottom of the basin. There it lay, in front of the god, free for her to take and yet even more out of her reach than ever. For _______ had never learned to swim.
But if I get it I can leave. This might be my only chance!
Chewing on her lower lip, she weighed her options and came up with a rather risky plan: The water was too deep for her to stand, so she would jump right in and dive down to the ground, grab the bangle and push herself off with her feet to get back to the surface. In and out in one go. After inhaling deeply she jumped into the water, fully clothed and not caring that she splashed the prince. Patiently Thor waited for her to resurface, intending to keep her inside the basin with him, and he waited. And waited.
The bubbles of air above her diminished as her lungs were emptied. Actually finding the bangle on the ground hadn't been that easy and the whole plan seemed rather stupid to her, especially now that she was drowning. There was no strength left in her bones to fight, she could barely keep on holding the piece of metal. When the first spots of darkness emerged at the corners of her eyes, she suddenly felt two large hands grabbing her roughly by the upper arms, pulling her upwards and out of the water.
Coughing violently and shaking all over, ________ crouched on all fours on the edge of the basin. "Stupid girl...." Thor grumbled in annoyance as he sat down on the underwater step in front of the wet mess, one arm resting on the cool tiles and his torso twisted. This really hadn't turned out as intended. "What were you thinking?!"
The girl sat up and brushed the strands of wet hair out of her face, a cocky smile spreading between slight coughs. "I thought you wanted me to entertain you -cough-" The impending suffocation had made her lightheaded and Thor couldn't help but laugh at that.
"Tsk!"
Then he noticed the bangle in her right hand, her fingers tightly clawed around the metal. Did she just risk her life to fulfill Balder's order? What a dedicated maid... Thor wondered as he watched her regain some composure. Completely wet from the quick swim, the thin cloth of her dress was now clinging to her body like a second skin and revealing much to the beholder. Each curve, each hill, even some flesh shimmering through here and there. Thor licked across his lips, his loins stirring. This night was far from over and he needed her closer.
"Here, have a sip to calm down!" the crown-prince said as he offered her the goblet in an attempt to loosen her up. A noble gesture if not for the second thoughts.
"No, thank you, your highness... I don't drink." Of course she wouldn't take the bait just like that. "Then I order you to drink!" the god extended his arm further, bringing the goblet almost up to her mouth when she finally took it. But instead of letting go, he guided the goblet in order to ascertain that a large gulp of the expensive liquid rushed down her throat. The skin of their fingers on the metal faintly touched.
A few moments later, the wine had accomplished the desired impact and _________ truly had calmed down a bit. Not entirely, of course, because that would only be possible when she was away from the prince. Norns, she needed some decent sleep! But Thor had other plans for her. "Now that you are wet anyway, you can as well wash me!" Thor emptied the goblet in one sip and put it away for good. Then he turned towards the maid again, a wide grin plastered across his bearded face. "Regard it as compensation for saving your life!" Completely flabbergasted, but realizing that she had been given an order nevertheless, ________ stared at the god who obviously had taken a liking into teasing her. Great, absolutely great!
She had no choice but to let herself sink into the water, carefully this time so as to remain with her feet on the stone step one could sit upon. From a large bowl filled with colorful soaps standing next to the basin, ________ then took a blue one and rubbed it between her hands – the hands which were going to actually touch a god! She would have never expected that to happen in her life. As uncomfortable and out of place as she felt, the maid decided to start with the arm resting on the edge and remain as far away from the prince as possible. Thor could have burst into laughter at her naive attempts, knowing that they would be all in vain eventually. But he refrained from doing so, in fact neither of the two ushered a word and silence flooded the baths. Gently the mortal applied some foam on his massive arm, her small hands sliding over the tight biceps and triceps, then onward over the shoulder to the broad chest as far as she could reach. Thor sat still the whole time so that he wouldn't scare her away, watching her with wolfish eyes.
Compared to him she was not only small, she was tiny. Thus it would take a while for her hands to rub every spot of his body atop the water line, her warm soft palms gliding in circles across his divine flesh. But Thor wanted those hands elsewhere. Would she even be able to encompass him? Thor became very aroused by that thought and purposefully ignored the shouts of his consciousness, forgetting about them at once when he spied a pair of stiffened nipples under her wet dress. The stirring of his loins intensified. "Don't forget the rest below the water..." he ordered in a husky voice, blurred by both the wine finally affecting him and his growing arousal. Impatience hit him like a bolt when the girl hesitated to obey, her bright eyes full of doubt and shock. "T-this is profoundly inappropriate, your highness!" "I don't care about etiquette!" He rumbled. With some effort, the god ripped his gaze from her bosom to meet her eyes, pleased by the obvious blush and the fear he found on her face. Still she didn't move and so Thor suddenly grabbed her right hand with his and guided the way down. A growl escaped the god and the crimson on _______'s cheeks flamed up upon reaching the desired goal. Inappropriate or not, Thor was rock hard and throbbing.
"Are you refusing me?" the god grumbled when he felt her hand slightly retreating from his flesh, his own hand still keeping hers in place. ______ shook her head, swallowed hard and began to slide her hand along his shaft. Thor let go of her hand then and relaxed fully against the edge of the basin. Since there was too much of him for one hand alone, the girl soon used her other too and even then she barely reached around his girth. Thor was on fire. “Good girl...” Her cool breath on his heated skin did little to soothe the flames of desire within him, on the contrary, he only wanted her to be closer. So he put his right hand on her back and pushed, forcing her to lean a little bit further across his lap as she knelt beside him. Most of her body was under water now, but Thor explored her backside with his hand, squeezing and rubbing the soft flesh in a possessive manner. She was so delicate, so fragile under his touch and Thor knew that he could break her at a whim. Like a toy in his mighty hands. Those slim hips he felt were teasing him, quickening his imagination about her womanly treasure – how wet it would be, how hot and tight. A violent shudder of pure lust rushed through the god. The delightful tension was overwhelming as _______ continued to pump him, her slender hands sliding along his thick shaft.
“Faster!” Thor wasn't able to say more as his apex dawned upon him, threatening to wash over him like a grand wave during a tempest. Longing for the final moment, the god reached over with his left hand and cupped her deeply flushed face. Without effort he forced her to look at him, her eyes widened and watery, while his thumb parted her moist lips to invade her pretty little mouth and fill it. Like I would elsewhere...
Thor came with a loud grumble, his whole body contracting as the hot squirts diffused with the water. Overwhelmed and utterly succumbing to the bliss, his eyes fell shut as he rolled his head back. That was exactly when the mortal slipped off.

Shameless Season 11 Episode 9 Review: Survivors
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This Shameless review contains spoilers.
Shameless Season 11 Episode 9
“The only thing that’s permanent is impermanence. Change is the only constant…”
Change is not an easy thing. This entire farewell season of Shameless has functioned as an examination of change from many different angles, but the characters have reached a point where they have to stop running and confront these developments now that there are only three episodes left in the series.
“Survivors” is a busy episode that puts every character outside of their comfort zone and in the middle of transformations of various severities.
Kevin taking over parenting duties for an afternoon or Carl’s transfer to another police department are hardly as drastic as Vee’s mother moving from Chicago or the ultimate fate of the Gallagher home, but they all light a fire under everyone in the same way. The Gallaghers are a resilient family of lovable cockroaches, but “Survivors” pushes the message that if you don’t move with the changes then the changes will definitely move you.
The past few episodes of Shameless have largely been preoccupied with the sad decline of Terry Milkovich, which has also functioned as a strong counterpoint to the Gallaghers’ own situation with Frank’s health. Terry is now gone, but his spirit heavily lingers in “Survivors” and it drives forward some of the episode’s most rewarding material. Mickey casually echoed the sentiment, “family is family,” a few episodes back  and Terry’s death has prompted Mickey to truly stand by these words. It leads to some growth that surprises Mickey more than anyone and he’s constantly at odds with the confusing and raw feelings that bombard him all episode.
Mickey is typically one of Shameless’ broader characters and this season has thrown him into several caricature-like situations that take advantage of his no filter attitude. Sincerity is not typically the character’s strong suit, yet Mickey’s free floating grief over his dad is actually compelling, new territory for him. He and Ian involve themselves with an earnest and sweet story that does manage to humanize Terry in a way and almost act as an “origin story” for his despicable racism.
Some of Noel Fisher’s best work from the entire series is in this episode as he wistfully reminisces over horrendous moments from his childhood. It becomes a little repetitive, but Ian’s deadpan reactions to Mickey’s “precious moments” all land and it’s a refreshing change of pace to have Ian act as this grounded foil. Mickey’s turn as the sympathetic one in this adventure is also the right approach. Mickey and Ian’s characterization was a little questionable at the start of this season, but it’s comforting to see these past few episodes really hit the sweet spot of their relationship.
Frank launches into an important chapter from his past just as Ian and Mickey get to learn more about Terry’s younger years. Frank’s plan is considerably more maudlin than Terry’s elegy over unrequited love. The idea that Lip is selling the house stays in Frank’s head long enough that he launches a scheme to get the necessary money to just purchase the house himself. Frank has been involved with lots of ridiculous shenanigans over the course of Shameless, but none have been as deluded as a plan to rob the Art Institute of Chicago. This would be a near impossible task for even an accomplished thief, so a severely impaired Frank doesn’t seem like he has the best odds of turning this scheme into a reality.
“Survivors” has some fun as Frank tries to get the (literally) old gang back together, but this wild pipe dream transforms into a morbid reality check for Frank. He’s surrounded with signs of decay and he’s unexpectedly forced to come to terms with how he’s also at the end of his rope. Frank gets caught up on if he’ll still have an effective wheelman for his art heist when he should appreciate that he somehow still has people in his corner that care about him. Frank’s family is infinitely more valuable than some treasure.
Some of the most interesting moments from this season of Shameless involve Frank’s frailty and how everyone treats him after they become aware of his diagnosis. It gives each of his interactions a little extra impact and pathos. “Survivors” chips away at the idea of Frank’s legacy in yet another interesting fashion, yet in the end it seems like he was somehow able to pull off this art heist entirely by himself?
Speaking of crime, Lip was fully at odds with Brad in the previous episode and ready to take things into seriously dark territory, but now they’re pulled together more tightly than ever before. Their volatile situation becomes even more combustible after they learn that their former employer has deep ties with the mafia because it seems like 90% of Chicago is corrupt according to this season of Shameless. The awkward Godfather-esque music cue that’s used when Lip and Brad meet the crime family also doesn’t improve upon the scenario in the way that the episode thinks that it does. It’s a very unusual way to seemingly resolve the heavy danger that’s followed Lip for a quarter of the season.
On the other side of the law, Carl’s reckless act of altruism with the vice squad reunites him with his former partner on the eviction squad. It’s nice to have Joshua Malina back in this nebbish role and it seemed strange to just have him pop in for a single episode before. His new zen attitude about destiny raises some superfluous questions for Carl, but the character doesn’t feel that different from before and this material fails to amount to much. Carl’s work for the police has made for rewarding character development, but his constant rotation throughout Chicago’s police departments is beginning to feel repetitive and aimless.
Between Carl’s work on the eviction unit and the prospect of the Gallagher house going up for sale there’s a lot of focus on whether the lack of a home means the lack of a family. Vee finds herself in a situation that oddly parallels the Gallaghers’ current instability when her mom moves away from Chicago and tries to establish new roots in Louisville. Vee is mostly critical that her mother’s actions are impulsive and that they won’t last. She worries about losing a connection with her mother and it becomes another situation where everyone is so caught up on what they might lose that they lose stock of what they already have. Veronica’s maturity with her mother gets juxtaposed with Kevin’s complete regression and failure to parent for less than 24 hours. It does not go well and it’s slightly misguided that this parental disaster ends as a punchline and not a cautionary tale.
Vee’s mom has a fancy new house in Louisville, but Liam is still left worrying if he’ll have any home at all if the Gallagher residence goes on the market. In perfect Liam fashion he attempts to resolve his paranoia over the future in a manner that’s more professional than every other Gallagher. There’s an inherent comedic nature during Liam’s attempts to get put into a foster home or become adopted so that he’ll have a place to live after his house gets sold.
They’re exaggerated moments, but Liam’s concern is very real and it remains impressive to see how self-sufficient he’s become. He continually thinks rationally about the future while his siblings ward off the mob and pray that they don’t have any sexually-transmitted diseases. Honestly, put Liam in charge of the family and they’ll be thriving within six months.
All of the chaos in “Survivors” begins and ends because of Lip’s stubborn attitude over selling the house. Lip’s insistence to force his family to move just because his life is imploding is still super problematic, but thankfully everyone finally just talks to each other and gets their fears and doubts out in the open. The final moments of “Survivors” are genuinely nice and it’s long overdue that Lip actually communicates and listens to the people that he cares about.
It’s really sweet that Lip promises Liam that he’ll be a part of his home and that the family’s sense of community isn’t going to change, even if their living arrangements do. However, this is also something that should have happened at the same time as Lip’s initial proposal to sell the house rather than the renegade sledgehammer that went through the wall. It’s led to a few episodes of unnecessary drama, but the Gallaghers are at least on a collective front now as the series heads into its final three episodes.

“Survivors” is a confident step forward for Shameless. It figures out how to balance the series’ more tender sensibilities with the wackier antics that were more prominent during the show’s earliest seasons. Characters operate as functional units and finally listen to each other before they’re left with fractured relationships that no longer feel like a family. There’s still a lot of growing up to do, but not that everyone’s on the same page and working towards a common goal it actually feels like Shameless might end in hugs rather than heartbreak.

Elijah’s Eternity: New Orleans Part Twenty Two +18
Tumblr media
Author: eternityunicorn
Genre: Romance/Drama/AU
Pairing: Elijah Mikealson x OC
Warnings: Some Smut (*Smut chapters marked +18)
Summary: Sequel to the AU Elijah’s Eternity - Ten years have passed, a mournful Elijah has finally started to move on without his lady. In that time, he has gained a reunited family and has also found a new lady love. Yet, all is not well as danger comes for the smallest member of the Mikaelson family: Hope, and it prompts Niklaus to call upon the white goddess, drawing her back into Elijah’s life. As they reunite, can Elijah really say he’s truly moved on?
NOTE: OC and original elements are from my up and coming novel series!
———————————————————————————————————
As Elijah predicted, abstaining from intimacy had been extremely difficult, especially since he hadn’t a need to hold back from his desires in the past. It was like having an addiction and trying to quit said addiction cold turkey verses doing so gradually. It was nearly impossible to do, even with impeccable control over oneself. And he had flawless control.
The first day had been particularly unbearable, but only because of the trauma he and Eternity had both faced just the day befriend. He had wanted her close, wanted her intimacy, to comfort them both, but with Kaname’s rule, they were forced to only give each other innocent touches and chaste kisses. These had been all fine and well, but he craved more. A feeling made worse as that night, they were also forced into separate chambers for rest.
The second day had been much like the first, their interactions had been chaste and innocent to the point of driving Elijah to madness. Though, he did well in his management of keeping up appearances, keeping his inner torment masked behind his typical cool and collective exterior. Despite this act, however, he couldn’t help but to steal more kisses from his lady than usual and to give her seemingly innocent touches with hidden meaning every chance he got, whenever Kaname was otherwise occupied. It was their hidden language, their secret way of communicating their mutual desire for the other, while adhering to the priestess’s rules.
By the third day, the eve of their wedding, Elijah found himself a mess of need, joy, and excitement. Things that he couldn’t not share with his bride-to-be. The magically inclined Eternity kept herself busy with preparing the shrine for the wedding the following morning, before everyone started coming in from the other side of the world, along with Kaname and Fenrir. This left him to wander the grounds in a fitful ball of energy, praying for a distraction from all the pent up emotions welling up inside that he hadn’t a satisfactory release for.
Fortunately, his saving distraction came when his siblings began to arrive at the shrine. First it was Rebekah and Marcel with Kol and Davina. Then Finn and Sage with Freya and Keelin. Finally, Niklaus and Hayley arrived with young Hope soon after his older brother and sister. The reunion between Niklaus, Hayley, Hope with everyone else had been something to celebrate and certainly took Elijah’s mind off his struggles to abstain from his need for intimacy with Eternity.
He spent his time with his whole reunited family, a joy in itself. Everyone was curious to know how life under the mysterious Underground Agency had been for the hybrid couple and their daughter since they rarely communicated due to the safety measures in place for their daughter.
Niklaus spoke of intense training that he and Hayley had gone through as per the upcoming higher order ritual Eternity wished to perform, getting a head start on everyone else in that department. Even Hope had gone through rigorous teachings to make herself stronger as a Mikaelson witch.
“I never knew my true potential until I went to the Agency,” Elijah’s brother told him and their siblings. “I am a whole new creature already and I cannot wait to see how much further my future sister-in-law’s spell will take me, my wife and child, and all of you, of course. We shall all be of a new breed of being in this world.”
“I still think it is a terrible idea to let you have more power, Niklaus,” Finn piped up in that cynical way of his. “Same with Kol. The two of you are the most chaotic and monstrous of us. I fear it might be a mistake to allow either of you access to such greater strength, but who am I to question the will of a goddess.”
“Yes, it is a good thing this is not your decision to make, my dear Finn,” Elijah replied with a tight smile, before Niklaus or Kol could respond. “My beloved bride-to-be knows what she is doing. If our more adventurous siblings get too far out of line, I am certain she will put them in their much deserved places. Though something tells me that both shall forever remain on their best behaviors, as neither would want to feel the wrath of the Universal Queen.” He eyed his younger siblings meaningfully.
“Hey, I’m not the murder happy lunatic I was,” Kol defended himself, as he threw an arm around Davina who stood beside him. “I found a reason to temper my violent bloodlust,” he said as he gazed lovingly at the witch.
Niklaus put his hand on his heart with the most serious expression etched upon his face, “I swear to never abuse the powers and strengths granted to me by the gracious and merciful Universal Queen.”
“And you better hold to that vow, Niklaus,” called Eternity suddenly, as she approached the Mikealson clan, coming to stand beside Elijah.
Niklaus nodded to her, “I swear it that I will uphold the vow made, just as I uphold always and forever.”
The well-dressed Original had to shove his hands in his pants pockets to keep from the temptation of whisking her away to do unmentionable things to her, but Elijah still smiled affectionately at her as she touched his arm in affection.
“Have you finished your preparations for tomorrow morning, Sweetheart?” He asked her.
“Aye, we are all set for our wedding,” she replied brightly. “It shall be a splendid affair.”
“Uni!” Shouted Hope as the child caught eye of the immortal queen and came running over to hug Eternity tightly.
“Hope!” The ethereal beauty bent to the girl’s level and embraced her just as tightly, before pulling back and holding the child at arms length. She grinned mischievously as she said, “I have missed you, young one. Come. Run with me!”
Stepping back away from Elijah, Eternity grinned and then changed shape right before all their eyes. With a loud musical sound, the unicorn took the place of the woman and the strange white beast didn’t waste time in racing off toward the woods. Young Hope laughed and went after her, while her family looked on with a mix of wonder, awe, and concern.
They all watched with fascination as the forest seemed to awaken from sleep upon the unicorn’s entrance. The quiet woods transformed into a lively place, bright and beautiful under the power of the mythical creature. It was unlike anything any of them had ever seen, save for Elijah, of course.
There were a lot of sniffles that waffled into the air even after the unicorn had raced off. Elijah’s siblings and their significant others all wiped their eyes of tears that had sprung up, curious and concerned as to why that was happening to them. Elijah felt teary eyed as well, but was certainly more prepared for that automatic reaction to the sight of the unicorn than the others.
“Bloody hell,” Kol said as he scrubbed the tears from his face. “What sorcery is this?”
“It’s not sorcery, just a natural response to seeing a unicorn,” chuckled Elijah, as he took his handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped his own eyes. “I’m not sure why it happens, only that it does when faced with the powerful sight of a unicorn.”
Hayley, with a slightly concerned expression as she dabbed her eyes dry, turned to Elijah, “Will Hope be alright out there?”
The older Original nodded, “Yes, she is with Eternity. There is nobody whom can protect her better than the powerful Universal Queen. You have nothing to fear.”
Realizing she was being silly right away, the female hybrid nodded back rapidly, “Yeah, yeah, right. Sorry, it’s just that I’m a little paranoid, I guess, with this Bruno person wanting to take Hope’s powers. I don’t feel very safe being outside of the protection of the Underground Agency, not after all the witch, vampire, and wolf killings that have happened because of that monster.”
“There is nowhere safer than these woods, my dear,” called Kaname suddenly, as she came to greet the newcomers. “That fiendish maniac Bruno wouldn’t dare to try and enter this sacred place. At least, not after what happened the last time he made such an attempt.” She smirked mysteriously. “Dark creatures, like him and some of you lot, are typically not allowed in this holy place, but I made a special exception for you lot, per my cousin’s request. Nothing unholy can penetrate this sacred place without my permission.”
At everyone’s curious looks in face of yet another Eternity clone, Elijah stepped up to introduce the miko, “Everyone, this is Kaname, Eternity’s cousin. She is our gracious host and will be the one to perform the wedding in the morning.”
Greetings were passed around quickly as everyone quickly dismissed the fact that Kaname was very much a clone of Elijah’s bride-to-be, just as Hel was. They were getting used to the idea that there was a strong family resemblance in Eternity’s family.
Speaking of resemblances, Fenrir, the male version of Eternity, soon joined them as well, greeting everyone shyly in an awkward teen sort of way. He came to stand by him, choosing to be close to someone familiar with all the newcomers of whom remained unfamiliar.
From there, everyone settled in. There was talk and celebration of the joyous occasion that was to come in the morning. Elijah felt himself relax a great deal with the distraction of his family. It helped that his lady was elsewhere, far out of his reach, for the time being.
While he had kept occupied with his family, Eternity and Hope had been off on an adventure through the forest and they didn’t return to the shrine until sundown. When they did, Elijah’s niece was covered in dirt and grime, while the unicorn remained untouched by the filth of nature. The child had come back quite happy, giddy in fact, from whatever activities they had gotten themselves into in the hour or so that they had been gone.
Hayley had insisted that Hope take a bathroom seeing her dirty child, which had dampened the girl’s good mood a little. However, Elijah’s niece did as her mother asked and went into the shrine to bathe. Kaname followed them to help out and to also prepare dinner, particularly for the non-vampires amongst the group, whom needed human food to survive.
Niklaus had informed his vampire siblings that he had brought along an ample amount of blood bags for them, supplied to him by the staff at the Underground Agency. Therefore, nobody would need to go hunting in town for sustenance, while they were in Tokyo. It was best not to stir up trouble, Elijah’s brother had said.
That was good, especially for Elijah, whom hadn’t been able to feed off of Eternity during their period of abstinence. He wouldn’t be able to until after their wedding the next day. This was mostly because the temptation to take things further would be too great, if he did, as his lady tended to get off on his feeding from her. The sweet scent of her resulting arousal would drive him to take her completely without hesitation.
So, to adhere by Kaname’s rules, it was best to not even tempt fate by taking her blood. Fortunately, Elijah hadn’t felt the hunger since arriving, after he had fed from Eternity in the back of the car that had brought them to the shrine and had remained subdued thus far. At least, he only had to make it a night more before he could resume feeding from his lady.
Not wanting to let his mind wander to the erotic memories that threaten to come to the forefront of his mind at the mention of the car incident, for the rest of the evening, he continued to occupy himself with the consistent talk amongst his family. In celebratory mode, drinks and laugher were abound as everyone sat down to a delicious dinner, magicked together by Kaname and Fenrir.
Though the shrine was small, there was just enough room to flit everyone around the low set table for dinner. It was a tight fit, but they made do with being in such close quarters. Eternity had returned to her womanly form and sat next to Elijah with her son sitting on the other side of her. Niklaus sat on the other side of himself.
The chatter was pleasant and full of questions about Kaname, such as how old she was and why she continued to live on Earth, despite the laws that had separated the ancient immortals from the  the mortal world. The miko answered all their questions politely with a bit of amusement coloring her voice as she did. Something that reminded Elijah so much of Eternity, as she had that same look upon her face when she had first met his siblings.
The older Original listened with fascination as Kaname explained that she was over ten thousand years old, had lived during Ceres’ time, and had chosen to remain on Earth because it was her home that no other world could replace. Though that wasn’t the on,y reason. She had chosen to dedicate her life to helping mortals whom were desperately in need of divine intervention. She enjoyed humans and want to help them in one way or another, even if she only helped in small individual doses.
Eventually, the meal and conversations wound down. Eternity took the opportunity to excuse herself, heading outside. She cast a glance at Elijah before she did so that was full of hidden meaning.
Curious, Elijah followed, slipping away stealthily as to not arouse Kaname’s suspicious eye. The miko had made it a point to ensure the pair behaved themselves until the wedding; an annoyance, but an understandable one. She had become their designated babysitter during the past few days.
He found his lady standing underneath the torii gate gazing up at the stars that had begun to appear in the darkening sky. Elijah went to her, coming to stand behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist. He pulled her back against him with his head against the side of hers. He felt her hand come up and cover his while the other moved to cup the back of his head, holding him there.
“And just why have you come out here, Sweetheart?” He asked her softly.
“I simply wanted to enjoy the nighttime...and I was hoping you would get the hint to follow me,” Eternity replied coyly, the smile evident in her voice. She turned in his embrace and kissed his lips sweetly. “I wanted a moment alone with you. We haven’t had much of that, not with the wedding preparations and Kaname’s insistent hovering. She takes tradition seriously, perhaps too much so.”
Elijah had to agree there. Though with his lady so close, he found it hard to keep his impulsive desires at bay. The struggle returned quickly with her nestled between his arms, her body nearly flush with his own. Perhaps the miko was in the right mind in keeping their interactions to a minimum.
Then Eternity smiled seductively and the Original knew he was in trouble. Her lips were upon his needfully with her arms wound around his neck and her fingers threaded through his hair.
He gave in without hesitation, unable to resist her. He pried her mouth open with his tongue and diving in to taste her throughly. He pressed he closer, wanting to feel her body against his fully in ways he hadn’t been able to in days - ones that he still wouldn’t be able to until the following day.
“You have no idea how much I want you,” he growled against her lips, before resuming his plundering of her mouth.
“I think I do,” Eternity replied breathlessly, once she could will her mouth from his, just as one of her naughty little hands travelled down his front, over his chest to his abdomen to his clothed hardness.
Elijah gasped at the suddenness of her caress, having not anticipated her grabbing him so boldly. Then he hissed as she palmed him through his pants. It was enough to drive him to forget Kaname’s conditions for performing the wedding ceremony and have his bride-to-be as he had been wanting to for days.
Eternity was a bad influence, he concluded, and the chink in his self-control.
“Eternity,” he ground out, as he reigned in his control.
Elijah willed himself to catch her misbehaving hand and pulled it away from his person. His gaze was surely fiery as he stared at her while he lifted the offending hand and kissed the palm tenderly. Then he returned it to it’s place around his neck.
“You are going to be the death of me, I swear it,” he breathed with a wicked grin. “I cannot wait until after our wedding, because then this horrid abstinence period will be over and I shall take great joy in ravaging you completely.”
Eternity shivered pleasurably at his tone of dark promises and smiled. She kissed him with just as much seductive passion as before, while Elijah swore inwardly at her insistence to tempt him, to test him this way. She knew well that he wouldn’t allow for things to go further, no matter how much he wanted to.
Still, Elijah allowed her to kiss him hungrily, letting her taste him as she pleased, before returning her affections tenfold by shoving her tongue out of his mouth and diving into hers with a need like no other. One of his hands wandered over the silkiness of her white and purple kimono, skimming over her breasts, kneading the flesh through the fabric. The other cupped the side of Eternity’s neck, holding her firmly while he plundered her mouth.
Things quickly grew heated all over again and Elijah found himself nearly lost to the passion that burned between them this time. Control be damned.
“Cousin!” Kaname’s stern voice called, snuffing out the passionate fire immediately. “Mr. Mikaelson!”
As the guilty parties turned to face her, the priestess put her hands on her hips, like a parent that had just caught her children doing something they shouldn’t be. She looked very displeased with the little make out session they had been engaged in.
Instantaneously, Eternity pulled away from him and had enough sense to look sheepishly at her cousin, though it was obvious that she didn’t regret their moment together. Meanwhile, Elijah put his hands in his pants pockets and gazed at the older immortal with slight bashfulness and a hint of smugness. He certainly didn’t regret it either. Their moment together had been worth it.
“Forgive me, cousin,” Eternity said with a slight bow of her head, though by her tone, it was obvious she didn’t actually mean it.
“Come inside, right now,” Kaname insisted and then chastised, “You two cannot be left alone. No self-control.”
The couple gazed at each other, before they broke out into smiles and light laughter as they made their way back inside the shrine. The whole while Eternity’s cousin lectured them as they followed her back to the others, where Elijah’s siblings began to tease them for whatever they had gotten themselves in trouble for.
Elijah let their teasing  slide off of him, as he found himself too distracted by the woman next to him, as they retook their seats at the low table. He simply couldn’t wait until the following morning, when Eternity would finally be his wife and they could finally start their life together as one unit.
If only morning would hurry up and arrive sooner to put him out of his misery.
To Be Continued....

———————————————————————————————————
The Kirin Shrine was a well hidden place, deep within the forests of Mount Kurama. There was a great, long staircase that lead up the modest place of worship that doubled as Kaname’s home, and at the top of the stairs was the large red torii gate that one had to pass through to get to the shrine. Beyond that was the water basin where worshipers would purify themselves before going on to the main building of the shrine to pray to the gods.
Though this was the traditional use of a Shinto shrine, Kaname’s home wasn’t quite a place of worship. No, that was only a cover. Instead, Eternity’s cousin secretly helped the desperate, whom dared to make the long and dangerous journey to the shrine, in order to ask her, sometimes plead with her, to heal their illnesses or even resurrect their dead. The latter was something that the miko reserved for any children brought to her by grieving parents, who took a great risk to even bring the corpses to the Kirin Shrine.
Kaname told Elijah all this as they climbed the stone steps to the shrine, but he was rather distracted by the loss of his lady to the unknown. She was missing, out there somewhere, beyond his reach and it killed him to be so helpless to aid her, to even find her. He found it was difficult to breathe, not knowing where Eternity was or if she was in need of him.
Yet, her cousin remained completely unfazed by her unknown plight. She was ever confident that the immortal queen would be back soon, unharmed and victorious against whatever or whomever had taken her.
“Do not worry, Mr. Mikaelson,” Kaname reiterated once they had reached the top of the stairs and were heading to the main house. “You will see your lady soon.”
“How do you know?” He asked her softly.
Kaname turned back to grin at him, “Because I have bore witness to Her Majesty’s might a time or two. I have seen with my own eyes, just what she is capable of - the wonders she can achieve. I have faith in her abilities, as should you, sir, especially if you truly love her.”
“I do love her,” he said defensively.
“Then have faith,” she responded quickly. “Besides, this turn of events gives us a chance to speak. I wish to ensure you are nothing like the last husband. I won’t let my cousin make the same mistake twice.” A dark scowl crossed her face briefly, before it faded away as swiftly as it came as she looked back at him.
Elijah shoved his hands into his pants pockets at Kaname’s pointed look of which she then gave him. He didn’t like the idea of being thought of as being similar or the same as Loki. He was nothing like that maddened fool, whom no doubt was responsible for Eternity’s disappearing act just now. That was what worried him the most - that she was at the Trickster’s mercy.
“To begin, let me say that even before Eternity told me, I knew who you were, Mr. Mikaelson,” Kaname told him in all seriousness. “I have heard the tales of the Originals; the bloodbaths, the killings, the mayhem, the destruction. Though much of that is contributed to your siblings, you are certainly not innocent; killing, maiming, torturing whomever dares to threaten your family or who is a means to an end for whatever reason you deem necessary.
“You are as cruel and monstrous as your more notorious siblings, particularly Niklaus Mikaelson. Yet, you pretend to be of civility with your suits and your candor. Surely, my cousin has seen all this, but she still fell in love with you. Why is that?”
Elijah’s eyes narrowed on the miko, unsure as to where she was going with her words.
“Ah, I know,” she carried on with a smile. “There is a measure of light in you, buried beneath the darkness of your monstrous ways. Like your siblings, there is a chance for redemption, for change - to be better than you are. Instead of remaining creatures of darkness, you lot can rise into the light and use the burden of being made into vampires for good.
“Yes, you are capable of great evil, but like every creature, there is also a capability for good. That is what drawn her to you, Mr. Mikaelson. My cousin saw the possibility for a better life for you, under her guidance, through her love. She understood that the monster was just one part of you and that there was more to you than the cold-blooded killer, who will protect his family, no matter the cost or who has to die.”
“You have heard a lot and haven’t doubt just scrolled through my mind for the rest of your information. So what is your point, if you don’t mind me asking?” Elijah finally interjected.
Kaname shrugged and then grinned, “My point is that despite your faults, your past, your darker nature, you are certainly better than that madman Loki.” She gestured for him to follow her, “Come along, sir, and you can regale me with the epic love story between yourself and my cousin. It’ll pass the time until your lady returns.”
Not seeing he had any other choice, Elijah followed the priestess into her house, after he had taken off his shoes at the door as was custom, of course. He sat in the common room with her while she prepared some tea magically. They sat on the floor with a low set table between them. It was very much in the tradition of Japanese hospitality, as was to be expected from someone whom lived there, presumably for their entire lives.
Elijah told her everything that had happened since Eternity’s arrival into his life a decade ago. He told her about the reason for their meeting, along with their first chat at that little diner in that sleepy town in Maine. He spoke of how awestruck he had been by her very presence, of the ethereal glow and the way all stopped to stare at her shining grace. He told Kaname of how quickly he fell for her, and how she returned his affections in kind. He spoke of Niklaus and his little brother’s alliance with Loki, how Eternity had persuaded him to help his brother in his attempts to squash a witch rebellion.
The Original told of the road trip across the American country, of the boy they saved, of the Blood Rose Club, of the kind Mitchells, and everything in between. He also told her of the end, of Eternity leaving him at that Californian hotel in fear for his safety against Loki, who had chased after them all the way, on their journey - along with Niklaus.
From there, Elijah emotionally spoke of the decade of misery without Eternity. He told Kaname how he felt lifeless, how it had been difficult to even breathe, how he grew darker, more vicious, colder. He told of his attempts to move on, but it had been impossible. Speaking of these things made his current worry for Eternity all the worse.
“I can’t lose her again,” he said to Kaname when the story had concluded, whom had been patiently listening to his tale all the while. “Eternity is my other half, almost literally. I need her like I’ve never needed another.”
Before the miko could respond, another figure showed up.
“Well, isn’t that touching,” called Aya from the doorway, setting both Elijah and Kaname on guard. “It seems I miscalculated and intervened too late to put you down for good back there, Elijah. It must be wonderful to have such friends in high places.” She gazed indifferently at Kaname briefly, before returning her eyes unto him.
Elijah was on his feet immediately, feeling rather vengeful at the sight of his old flame - the very one that was responsible for his lady’s disappearance, and that of Fenrir. “Where are Eternity and Fenrir?” He growled. “If you do not tell me -.”
Aya laughed cruelly, “You’ll what? Kill me? A little late, I think. Though, it wasn’t your by hand that I met my most welcomed end, but Hayley’s. All because you didn’t have the gall to do it yourself, if I recall.”
He glared at the apparition, just as Kaname came to stand beside him.
“You do not belong here, evil spirit,” the miko said calmly, with authority. “Be gone!”
Aya didn’t disappear upon her words. In fact, the ghostly figure only smiled at her, “The thing is, you are not the only one with friends in high places. I too have allies with greater power than anyone on Earth.”
“...Loki,” ground out Elijah, knowing exactly who she was working for.
The spirit didn’t seem very surprised that he already knew to whom she referred. In fact, she looked knowingly smug. “Yes, and if you do not renounce this marriage, I fear my associate will have no choice, but to inform the madman Bruno where he can find his prize - the young Hope Mikaelson. Surely the powerful tribrid will be here in a few days time, yes? For the happy occasion of matrimony? If you don’t give your precious Eternity up, your latest foe will descend upon your niece and take her power, as he has done to many others of this world, once she is outside the protection of the Underground Agency.”
Elijah’s hands tightened at his sides, as did his jaw, as he tried to control the rage that he felt at not only the threat to his young niece, but to his relationship with Eternity. He wanted to lash out in a blind fury, but he was a master of control and he managed to keep himself in check.instead he relaxed and gave Aya an unamused smile. He kept his hands in his pants pockets to hide the signs of his anger.
“You are wasting your breath, if you think that threats are going to be enough to tear Eternity and I apart, dearest Aya,” he responded coolly. “You’ll have to kill me, before I’d ever give her up.”
There was an unreadable expression that crossed the dark woman’s face at his firm declaration, before it vanished quickly. “I figured you would say that,” she said bitterly. “You always were a fool when in love.”
Just then, the apparition moved to attack.
Fortunately, Elijah didn’t have to worry about countering her, as a spiritual arrow flew through Aya’s chest from behind. The ghostly woman looked down at the arrow, just as it burst into bright blue flames, and disintegrated the apparition quickly until she was no more.
It was then that the Original could see Eternity standing across the yard with her yumi bow still in firing position. She looked battered and bruised, her clothes torn and he could see the glistening wetness of crimson blood upon her side. She lowered her weapon with heaving breathes, before she collapsed, only to be caught by Fenrir who came into view beside her.
The younger immortal looked nearly as bad as his mother, battered and bruised as well; though he seemed otherwise unharmed. The boy lifted Eternity into his arms as she fell unconscious and carried her across the yard to the shrine.
“What the hell happened?” Elijah demanded worriedly for them both, as Fenrir moved past him into the common room of the shrine.
“What do you think? My father happened,” Fenrir responded crossly as he lay Eternity down on the tatami mats. “My poor mother,” he murmured to the unconscious queen.
“Explain,” the vampire quietly requested of the lad.
Eternity’s son sighed, as his sapphire eyes looked up at Elijah from where he was crouched beside her. “My father had us sent into the afterworld, where he met us and then proceeded to torment us both. All the while, he spoke maddeningly about the wrongs done unto him and how he was going to make my mother suffer for these perceived slights,” Fenrir sounded almost bored when he said this, as if it were nothing new. Perhaps it wasn’t.
“He tortured me for fun first, just because I’m an easy target, and then my father proceeded to abuse her, right in front of me,” The male mirror of Eternity carried on with quiet disgust and anger as he spoke of what his father did. “At one point, he even tried to rape my mother, when she wouldn’t be broken by the insistence that she belonged to him still, or the accusations of betrayal, or the assault of which she actively stood against! He tried to hold her down, tried to prove his dominion over her.”
Fenrir paused to take a breath, before continuing, “He’s vile, but fortunately, even in the spirit world, my mother triumphs. He didn’t get far, before she broke through his spell and escaped with me in tow.” He gave a proud smirk at the end, before the anger set back in at his father’s actions.
Elijah shared in the younger immortal’s anger. While he had dealt with threats against his family from Aya, Eternity had dealt with unspeakable terrors at the hand of a man that she had once loved, that she had used to call ‘husband’. How could any person, man or woman, treat someone they supposedly care for like that? How far had Loki fallen into his own darkness, to not see the great evil he was doing unto the woman he said he loved?
But that was just it, wasn’t it? The Trickster didn’t love her. He couldn’t. Not anymore, at least. It wasn’t regaining love that Loki was after, but regaining control over her. And in his jealous quest to regain that of which he lost, the bastard was also attempting to intimidate him with apparitions of his past lovers whom he wronged, trying to get him away from Eternity by threatening his family and his own life.
Like hell he would give her up! Never again, would he!
For hours, Elijah stayed by Eternity’s side, waiting for her to wake. Her wounds had healed, though they had seemed to take longer to do so. In this, Kaname had explained that this was due to being a corporal being in the world of the spirits. The body healed from a spirit’s attack slower because of the different kind of energy in the afterworld.
Then, just as the sun was setting for the night, the immortal queen finally stirred into consciousness. She sighed and blinked, raising a hand to her forehead as she took in her surroundings. She turned her head after a moment of getting her bearings and saw Elijah sitting there with her, a relieved smile upon his face.
“Elijah?” Eternity said hoarsely, as if she didn’t believe he was really there, despite having been the one to save him from Aya.
He beamed down at her, taking a hand and brushing back her hair from her face, before cupping her cheek tenderly. “Yes, it’s me,” he replied softly.
Immediately, Eternity sat up and threw herself at him, practically climbing into his lap with her arms wound tightly around his neck, holding onto him for dear life. “Oh, Elijah. It was terrible,” she muttered against his throat, as he wrapped his arms around her protectively; one hand around her waist and the other cupping the back of her head as he held her to him.
“Shhh, you don’t have to tell me,” he whispered into her hair. “Fenrir already told me what happened. I’m just sorry that I wasn’t there to protect you from Loki.”
She lifted her head and smiled gently at him. “Don’t be sorry. There is nothing to apologize for,” she murmured to him, as she rested her forehead against his cheek. “It is my own past foolishness at fault here. Nothing more.”
Elijah continued to hold Eternity, sharing in a tormented silence with her. No doubt she relived the trauma, while he craved the strength to truly protect his lady from all threats. It was becoming even more imperative that they marry or rather that they preform the higher order ceremony, so that he could have the strength to guard his bride from the evil that plagued her.
“Elijah,” Eternity whispered to him, catching his attention.
He looked down into her sapphire eyes that shone with such love for him, despite her recent terrors. Nothing could break their bond, not Loki, not his past lovers, not time nor distance - nothing, he knew. They were always and forever.
With those confirming thoughts running in his head, the Original’s mouth descended upon Eternity’s with all he felt poured into his kiss. She clung to him as he devoured her mouth, with his tongue diving into the warm cavern to taste her sweetness desperately. He had been so worried for her and now he felt an immense relief that she was alright, that she was battered a bit, but safe. Things heated quickly between them as a result of high strung emotions they were both feeling at the moment.
“Hey, easy you two,” called Kaname from the doorway, with mild amusement.
Instantaneously was the seductive spell upon the couple broken, as Eternity tore her mouth from his to look at her cousin bashfully. “Kaname, hello,” she said in greeting.
“Hello, my queen,” the miko bowed in response, before she straightened and moved further into the room. “I am glad to see you are well again. It seems you have had quite the trying time, but at least, you are now safe and sound.”
The ethereal beauty tried to move off of Elijah’s lap, but he held on firmly, not letting her escape his embrace. “Elijah...,” she chastised quietly with an adorable grin, it which he simply smirked and refused to let her leave his hold.
“You two really are in love,” Eternity’s cousin observed with a tender smile. “It is quite beautiful to see. However...,” she trailed off, a firmer expression etching itself upon her face.
That caught the vampire’s attention, “However?”
Kaname came over to sit across from them with her legs folded neatly beneath her and her hands folded just as neatly in her lap. “However,” she began, “for the next three days until the wedding ceremony, you’re interactions will have to remain chaste. That means no intimacy of any kind.”
“Wha - I don’t understand,” Elijah stared dumbfounded.
Eternity stepped in to explain, “My love, it is a...family tradition. The act of sex between a newly married husband and wife is considered sacred, not just to my family, but to many of the immortal peoples. Therefore, it is a custom that there be a period of celibacy between the couple getting married to represent the purity of and respect to the union. This trial usually lasts longer than a few days, but the idea is to make the wedding night more special, more meaningful, I suppose. It’s silly really.”
“It is not silly, Cousin,” Kaname replied insistently, before he could respond. “You are the Universal Queen. It is necessary to follow at least some of the ancient traditions as it does not reflect well for the head of the kingdom to ignore the things that many of her people hold in high regard, especially her own family. You will follow this one premarital tradition or else I will not bless this union, and from what I understand of your situation, you do not have the time for hinderances.”
“Are you threatening me, Cousin?” The queen responded, with a twinge of amusement.
Without missing a beat, the miko nodded, “Yes, I am.”
Eternity blinked at her and then looked at Elijah, who looked back at her with consent to this ritual. With that, she rolled her eyes and let out a heavy sigh. “Very well. As you command, my lady,” she said to Kaname, a hint of mocking in her sweet voice.
“Good,” Eternity’s cousin gave another curt nod. “Now, you’re probably hungry. Fenrir has been preparing a meal for you. If you will, come sit.”
Elijah finally let go of the ethereal beauty and allowed her to leave his side to sit at the low set table. He watched as her dirty, torn clothes shifted and changed into a beautiful white kimono with a deep purple obi and deep purple flowers printed on the sleeves and hem of the brilliant white fabric. Her hair also shifted and changed from flowing freely into a braided bun at the back of her head, as she sat at the table.
She was stunning in these traditional wears, and the very sight stirred up his desire for her, as did her very presence. He wanted her at all times, regardless of what she wore or how she looked. Because of his insatiability, Elijah simply didn’t know how he was going to managed abstaining from taking her as he pleased for the next three days, when that was all he wanted to do. Especially after their most recent trying time.
Someone needed to pray for him....
To Be Continued....
