Reaching Out!

OH MY GOD THIS EPISODE I CAN’T AAAAGAGGGGHHHHHH

Edric! Edric content and B-plot! Now I need an EMIRA plot too, PLEASE! But we probably won’t get one because Season 3 was shortened, DAMMIT! But Ed my boi… Character development! Multi-track, beastkeeping Edric was always something I considered but it HAPPENED, he’s getting to be his own person and not worry about being alone! Eda is his new mom too!!! And Batric, he adopted the bat! Edric has insecurities over being a screw-up, I can’t, I CAN’T!

The Blight kids all know multiple forms of magic! Makes sense, they don’t care for rules and aren’t covenbound yet… Amity is meant to join the Emperor’s Coven, so she needs all kinds of magic besides Abominations anyhow! And Amity having to join a coven, they discussed that with Alador! Is Alador chill now, by the way? He and Eda knew each other as kids? You can see Odalia and Darius in the background of his youth!

…I’m still a little wary of Alador. He SEEMS to be respecting his kids more and SEEMS to be realizing that he’s neglecting them. But he also said he liked Amity’s hair for being colored like an Abomination. But maybe I’m fretting, or this is a plot point that the show would’ve carried further, but had to resolve early because of Season 3 being shortened! But yeah, he’s INTERESTING, and I’m fascinated by this dude; I like how he goes for the hug but Amity gets to keep him at bay because he hasn’t earned that either! Confront Mom AND Dad over this, nice!

THE TWINS AREN’T PERFECT THEY LOOK LIKE DORKS!!! Do they always look like this or just this one time, either way I love it! Emira being a healer and big sis to Amity, I love it… And technically she gets away from Edric, so hey, BOTH twins’ fears are acknowledged and fixed this episode! I need an Emira B-plot PLEASE, if we lost one because of Disney I will SCREAM-

LUZ! LUZ! CAMILA AND VEE! HER DAD! Her dad is dead, and I just… UGGHHH for a moment I was really concerned! I love the parallels to Raeda and how lying and hiding things from her GF causes ISSUES, and Luz ends up making a real apology for it! Saying that her grief over her father doesn’t excuse what she did, doesn’t make up for it! It feels like a standard ‘hiding your issues and causing troubles because of it’ plot, but TOH makes it feel refreshing and like these are actual character decisions and not just a recycled, stock-formula plot!

I LOVE LOVE that everyone can tell something’s wrong, literally everyone; Those are GOOD friends, that’s good support! Luz tries to deny her grief over her dad and everyone can immediately tell, and they don’t outright confront her because they are somewhat motivated to give her a healthy distraction, but it seems no distraction is healthy! Not to mention Eda asking about RAINE, she’s actually doing things to look after her old ex! Actually trying to follow up! And the Day of Unity…

Pffft, I expected Wrath to show off his improved skill, only for Alador to one-shot him anyhow! Methinks he wouldn’t have done so well against Amity, either… Slightly better, but that’s not saying much. I wonder who his coworker was, Darius…? Either way, the rumors of the new future not being kind to ANY magic… Eeyup. But also, ‘unite with the Titan’??? IS BELOS GONNA FUSE EVERYONE’S FLESH TO REGENERATE THE TITAN?! Or absorb them and their magic into its brain, what the hell?!? I smell horrific body horror but I’m also kinda hyped because I’ve been guessing this since Agony of a Witch…!

Luz has a hover glyph! Luz is SO SMART, and she’s the Spellraiser! Not to mention her and Amity kicking butt… It’s a shame we don’t see them tag-team together, but still! AND THE GROM TREE, AMITY PROMISING TO PICK FLOWERS! And how Luz outright SAYS that she was projecting her issues with Amity and Alador, how she was jealous, or maybe wanted Amity to have a good relationship?! This is SUCH a healthy relationship and it’s so cathartic how these characters actually TALK about their feelings and verbalize it, it’s like a fanfic in the BEST way possible, again!

Also, the comeback of Eda’s potions business, no thanks to Edric! Amity was only borrowing those stones, but could we see Emira and Edric keep these appearances, to reflect how they’re more comfortale in their own skin, especially Ed? So now EVEN THE TWINS have a new Season 2 appearance! And we know Luz does, she wears the letterman Eda gives her in further episodes… THEY CALLED HER EDA’S KID EVEN ALADOR DID!!! God I love this. I love the follow up and continued extension on characters. Also yeah, Wrath def had that demotion coming, the stolen lunch was clearly the last straw of many that have been alluded to can acknowledged this episode.

I think some of the witches that Luz and Amity fought were ascended background characters, or at least SCAB was, I believe he was in episode 1! Either way I’m invested in Scab. And the fight scenes and animation were SO GOOD! Vee my beloved, getting to cook with her new mom… The way she stops mixing at the end, can she sense and notice Camila’s discomfort? So now mother and daughter have someone noticing and caring, now I need a fanfic of Vee trying to comfort her mom, learning about the dad she could’ve had, understanding Luz more!

Just… GGYAAAGGGHHH! And how Amity and Luz grow the flowers with the Plant glyph, in front of the Grom tree; A callback to Enchanting Grom Fright, how Luz discovered the Plant glyph that episode, used it to defeat Grom and grow that same tree! I can’t, I CAN’T, this episode was EVERYTHING, the humor was top-notch, twins content and development… AND NEXT EPISODE! Eda’s gonna tell Luz about Raine, since she keeps bringing them up, so OF COURSE Luz is gonna be curious! And Eda might give some pointers on how to avoid her mistakes, even if Luz clearly overcame those this episode.

Wow… Just amazing. For a moment I was wondering what could be such a big deal for Luz, was it her father’s death and she needs to visit his grave??? AND I WAS RIGHT! And it makes sense for this to pain Luz so much, to not want to bother Amity by making her think about HER dad by extension, which she already has issues with. And how Amity and Alador are sorta repairing their relationship, because Luz gets for others what she never had, so they never have to go through that same pain!

And how Luz clearly feels like she’s disrespecting her dad’s memory and just UGGGHHHH THIS EPISODE WAS EVERYTHING! And THEN LUZ TEXTING HUNTER, who was that Flapjack pic for huh??? Hunter’s clearly being exposed to outside opinions and friends on a REGULAR BASIS, Luz isn’t mad at him and he knows it! My boi is getting all the setup to leave, so much interaction with Willow and others... There was so much! Up next, Them’s the Breaks, Kid!
