ok guys y'all gonna hate this one but i had a thought
undertale: well here's the delta rune, it's referencing a prophecy where someone will come down from the surface, the angel, and the underground will go empty. some people think this means the angel will kill everyone and some people think it means that the angel will spare everyone. the fanbase as a whole thinks that it's either chara/frisk or asriel, for the most part, although it's never confirmed. asriel is the only one to get wings, however, and in the pacifist ending is the one who actually breaks the barrier, so there's a good chance that it's him.
deltarune: lmao this one's literally called delta rune, and the prophecy in this one is about some Bad Stuff happening that a) results in the earth being destroyed, causing b) a human, monster, and prince from the dark rolling up and closing the fountain so they can "banish the angel's heaven." the angel. is also here. and also asriel is "at college" and we haven't seen him yet. they stop the angel by closing the fountain.
anyway what i'm saying here is that asriel is the angel in both stories and in this case that'd probably make him the knight as well

Soft Hands
Dr. W.D Gaster wasn't sure why he told 1-S and 2-P what he did. But one question about humans and monsters led to another, and before he knew it, he was recalling the one time he met a human. The one time his interaction with the species wasn't tainted by blood, war, anxiety or fear. A moment in time he still, to this day, doesn't understand. And wishes that he did...
==========================================
Tumblr media
W.D Gaster regretted telling 1-S and 2-P what he had.
1-S had talked about learning how to dodge to his brother, the tubby skeleton speaking quietly and softly to his brother in the cell about how humans fought, and about how their creator had said humans did what they did to monsters for one simple reason...they were stronger, and killing monsters benefited them. It was just kill or be killed. And Subject P had remembered the doctor speaking about the war between monsters and humans.
And so a question had popped out of 2-P's mouth. And it had been a question Gaster remembered asking his ownparents, back when he had been Subject P's age, looking so, SO much like P did now...
"Had humans always been like that?"
"No, not always." Gaster found himself answering automatically. He'd flinched at this, cringing a bit, realizing he had just opened the door to the curious twosome to ask even more questions, 1-S's voice rising out from the cell the two were within. Gaster had to look away from the snazzy metal clipboard he'd been writing on to look at the two as 1-S's short framed-form rose up from off the plain blanket he'd been lying down on.
"Oh really?" 1-S inquired. "So they didn't always want to kill monsters? Does that mean they liked you at some point?"
"Not exa-" Dr. Gaster now looked flustered. He looked away slightly, and Sans knew, he KNEW that look on the doctor's cracked face. The way the lines that ran up from his left and right eye would somehow shake, the faint crease on his features always gave away the fact he had been close to saying something juicy, and his natures were fighting it out. There was the inner scientist in Gaster who so badly WANTED to talk about the strange, almost unknowable creature that was "Man", that wanted P and S to know about everything they were capable of so they could be prepared, be ready...to kill, or be killed, if the need arose. Then there was their captor, who didn't want them to know too much, to know enough to hurt him, to use against him, to...feel.
Some part of S knew that, at one point, Gaster had cared about them.
Perhaps he'd even loved them.
But he had known that if he kept caring, kept loving, he couldn't hurt them. And for "everyone else's sake"...to "do what he had to, what people need me to do"...he had to distance himself. Some part of S knew that.
And despised Gaster for it.
Did Gaster not want to tell them because talking about the time before all this, before monsters and humans had fought, was a time that belonged to a different Gaster? A softer, kinder one? That if he talked too much about them, admitted to him, he might start to feel again? To care again? Subject S knew Gaster had lost friends and family, that much he'd picked up on from their talks about the war, as did P. Was Gaster just determined to talk about that life as little as possible so he wouldn't have to remind himself of what it meant to feel for others?
Or maybe he just didn't want to talk because...yes, maybe that was it.
Gaster was a coward. S knew this. Gaster had almost screamed at Subject P when P had tried to say that maybe it wasn't Gaster's fault his kind had died off so horribly the way they had in the war. That Gaster, being so young, couldn't have done anything to fight the humans off, that if was on THEM for fighting and killing to begin with, and Gaster couldn't cope with that, having blamed himself for so long.
Perhaps he just didn't want to feel like a coward again.
"...I don't think you could understand." Gaster muttered out.
"Well...try us!" P insisted. "Did the humans ever live together with monsters?"
Gaster actually chuckled dryly at this. "Live together"? A bit of a stretch." He sighed, and for a moment, his tone became wistful. Softer.
"In the old days, the large towns and cities of our realms had dividing lines of territory. On those lines, there were other towns and cities, mutually shared by monsters. Nobody was really "living together". Though they may have passed each other on the street, or bought from the same market or shops, visited the same smiths and book stores and stood under the same rain and the same clouds...no. They didn't live together. Not in public at any rate. Such an idea would be...unthinkable. After all, monsters were...well...monsters." Gaster chuckled again, shaking his head.
"Creepy or terrifying or strange. What people do not know, they often fear. Then again, there is also some who have an attraction to the unknown, and sometimes they saw...creatures they could warm up to in us."
"Like what?" S wanted to know. Now he was intrigued. Gaster's scientist side had won over. The need to explain, to talk about all he knew, to share his knowledge had won over the fear of dredging up old wounds and the worry of "am I telling them too much". He was an eager teacher who'd just needed a little push.
"Well, the Temmie race, of course. They were furry, adorable, and they had a very...charmingly quaint way of speaking." Gaster sighed, adjusting the glasses he wore atop his bony, skeletal head. "You might have seen a picture of them on that "Tem Flakes" box you got when you got into my office." He added.
"Ohhh, THOSE things!" P's eyes were going all starry, a beaming expression on his face. "They are so, so cuuute! The little tails, and the floppy ears and the tiny little noses!"
"Yes, humans found them similar to "cats". I suppose humans have more...mercy in them for creatures that are cute and cuddly and similar to creatures they keep as pets. If a monster was small and adorable and young, a human tended to be more...sympathetic. A matter of simple "herd instinct", I imagine." Dr. Gaster said as he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Young life tends to make humans go all...cuddly." He remarked.
It was true. He'd seen it in quite a lot of the animes and cartoons that his dear friend Alphys had shown him. Whenever a baby or a puppy or a kitten or small animal was on the screen, they were always being fawned over. Had he been able to keep 1-S and 2-P from aging, maybe he could have snuck them across the barrier as hidden adorable weapons that no human would ever suspect of being a threat. After all, something so tiny and soft who could barely fit your finger in their hand would melt the heart of just about anyone. You'd NEVER hit an infant.
"And there were some humans who had an attraction to a few of the monsters that were more...human in appearance? Some monsters had very human traits, like a humanoid upper or lower body. In fact, the melusine, or "merpeople" race had charmed over quite a lot of humans."
"Mer-whuh?" 1-S wanted to know. "Who're they?"
"They look rather much like fishy people. Sailors had often told of the majesty of the mermaids, and it wasn't uncommon at all to see people tilting their heads to watch these fine specimens walking down the road." Gaster chuckled as he took off his glasses, cleaning them with a napkin from his pocket. "Their hair would be a beautiful crimson or scarlet, so many shades of red, with scales that had such a fascinating blend of blue. The way the sun would gleam off their scaly bodies was a thing of beauty indeed. An exotic beauty that would entrance many a human. Sometimes they even fell in love. That's where the legend of "The Little Mermaid" came from. I used to love reading that story." He added, trailing off.
Oh yes, he used to love reading it. The mermaid had given up so much to be with the human, and for a while, the human prince had loved her too. And it had seemed, at first, that they WOULD be together. Yes, getting there had hurt the mermaid greatly. Hurt the monster greatly. But they were in love, and happy...
And then that had changed when the prince had married the human princess instead, believing the princess, not the mermaid, had saved his life those years ago.
Back then, he'd tried to take some comfort in the knowledge that the little mermaid, though she had died, had gained an immortal soul, and had become a beautiful spirit who'd one day rise up into the "Kingdom of God". That at least she'd not turned to nothing but seafoam, and had gotten a chance at an even greater happiness. Yet looking back at it...he felt angry that she'd STILL, after all she'd endured, have to do good deeds for humans for 3 centuries.
Hadn't she suffered enough?
"Did you ever meet any...nice humans?" 2-P asked. "Were there any where you lived?"
Gaster then flinched a bit, and 1-S could tell from the look on his face that yes. Yes, he HAD met nice humans. But even that hadn't been good.
"...I remember one in particular." Gaster finally said.
He'd been racing down the street, carrying several library books, intent on returning them. He didn't want to get in trouble, after all. He'd had on his usual overlong, grey and dark grey sweater, the adorable red scarf, the big glasses, too huge for his face. Panting heavily, he'd been tearing down the cobblestone road of the town, sandal-clad feet somewhat slipping about. "OOOF! C'mon, c'mon, c'mon!" He murmured, the books bouncing about in his arms. He had to get there in 9 minutes or it'd be closed and he'd have to pay a fine!
The sunlight was piercing through patches of clouds above, the humans in this section of town giving him the occasional look. Some found him a little cute, no doubt, since he was a "baby bones", a child skelly. Others found it unsettling, freakish, muttering the curse "revenant" under their breath, for they, like many, believed that skeleton monsters came from dead humans. An idea that did have some merit, for the only other way for skeleton monsters to be made came from cutting out pieces of their own body to create more, and since normal monsters didn't HAVE skeletons, well...where hadthe first skeleton monsters arisen from? And others still just...didn't care. They had their own troubles and were busy with other things clouding their mind like the skies above were clouding up.
And that was when he rounded the corner, just a few dozen feet from the library...and smacked headlong into a human.
"OUCH!" They collapsed onto the sidewalk below, people nearby stopping. Some looked concerned for both, others only worried about the human, a few particularly unpleasant people sniggering as the human girl Gaster had ran into moaned. "Heyyy!" She said, adjusting the thick glasses that she wore. "Watch where you're going!" She told him in an aggravated voice, Gaster blushing nervously, their books all sprayed out around them. "You made me drop my library books!"
"S-Sorry, sorry!" Gaster apologized as he began scrambling to pick them all up so he could give hers back and pluck his own up. Best to take care of hers first...he didn't want people to think he was inconsiderate. "H-Here, I'll...I'll pick them up for you!"
"Can't you be more careful, I mean...really..." The human girl muttered. She was wearing a shirt that was purplish in color, with scraggly pants. Based on her slightly holey shoes, the somewhat cloudy glasses, and the frizzled, rather spiky mess of brown hair she had atop her head, she wasn't very well-to-do. She pushed the glasses up a bit on her somewhat sharp nose, her thick eyebrows raised a little as she reached down to pluck up one of her own books.
And as she did so, her hand touched his as he reached for the same.
Absolute silence reigned. Gaster nervously gulped, for he realized she was now slightly gripping his bony hand, and she was staring right into his eyes. Eyes so very teal in color, so...soft. Her mouth was slightly agape, people murmuring and whispering as Gaster stared back, confused by the expression on her face.
"What is it?" He asked. "Your, um...your hand is...on mine...could you-" He began to say.
"Your HAND." She whispered out.
"Yes?"
"It's...fuzzy. It's so...soft." She murmured, looking down at it, lifting it up, feeling over it with her own hands, her eyes getting wider. "Like...it's like the hair on a comfrey leaf." She muttered out. "I thought it would be hard and bony but...its so fuzzy. It's...nice."
She held his hand, looking at it for a long time, then at him. He stared back into her, and as she held it there, the other humans looking at each other, confused, a bit surprised, Gaster thought he saw the girl crying, and trying to hold it back in her eyes. She let his hand go, picking up the last of her books and quickly walked away, leaving Gaster's books in a small pile right in front of him.
He would never see her again, but he would remember how she'd held his hand. How she'd felt over the soft texture of his bones. How surprised she'd been to feel it, and he remembered how...oddly warm and soft human hands could be.
Hands.
...why had she cared so much that his hands were so...soft?
He just didn't understand humans sometimes.
"Humans are just...strange." He finally said. "Years of study and even I barely know anything. And honestly, sometimes...I don't think THEY know anything about themselves."
With that, he left them alone, heading back to his office, putting his hands in the pockets of his white labcoat, softly feeling over the textures of his own palm...
And the tiny, tiny little hairs they had.
Author’s Note:
There's been plenty of stories showing the crueler and more sadistic side of Gaster from Zarla's "Handplates" tales. I wanted this story to show a more...introspective side of him, and a peek into his younger life. Since Zarla tries to make the interactions with monsters and humans more realistic I thought I'd show a more realistic reaction, a realistic moment in time.
Life is made up of little moments like this. Whether the human actually had her mind changed about monsters or not, well...that wasn't really the focus. I really just wanted to try and capture a piece of time, a mood, a fleeting part of Gaster's life where, for the tiniest moment, two hands both reached into the expanse of a beautiful and magical world.
But if you want to know whether I think the human DID change her mind, well...those who've read my previous work maaaay recognize how...familiar the human's description seems.

Deltarune!Gaster notes for a self-indulgent thing I’m going to write after I finish my main thing:
Going by how the characters in Deltarune are essentially a suburban/teacher! au version of themselves, I’d put Gaster in there as the high school chemistry/physics teacher--and, of course, best friends with Asgore and Toriel. (who I’m going to say are not subject to the Boss Monster rules of dying once their child is grown, since Asriel’s in college, thus meaning they’re all around the same age).
- Skeleton culture is still separate from Monsters, but not quite as isolated. Gaster left home so he could go to university; he keeps in contact with his parents and constantly gets letters from his littlest sister Freesia, but he hasn’t talked to his sister Marlett in years.
-Met Toriel first; she was his tutor in his remedial Monster class (he never was good at learning languages). They get along marvelously, and talk everyday. She introduces him to her boyfriend Asgore, who immediately takes him under his wing. He winds up being a groomsman at their wedding.
-Without the shock of losing his whole village and the alienation of having to live alone with monsters, Gaster is much less prone to self-isolating and self-flagellating. He doesn’t love parties, but he has a good time for a few hours. He’s also less awkward about talking; most people think his accent’s charming and have a great deal of fun trying to decipher the words he signs. As a result, he’s much more relaxed.
-He gets his bachelors in chemistry, his masters in mechanical engineering, and his doctorate in physics. A lot of people tell him he’s crazy smart, but really he just likes learning and being in academia.
-So it’s really a blessing when Toriel tells him the high school connected to the school she teaches at needs a chemistry teacher. He enjoys teaching kids about science and seeing several of them really enjoy the scientific process. There’s also a lot of experiments, which the kids really love.
-Gaster is 100% the cool professor. He doesn’t wear ties and has a black lab coat, and he doesn’t talk down to the students. He’s passionate about his subject and ready to help anyone who shows the slightest interest in pursuing a scientific career.
-Alphys in particular was one of his favorites, and while he knew she could do much better than teach biology, he immediately was there to help her get her job at the school.
-He would still 100% die for Toriel. Their jobs mean that he sees her every day, and while he doesn’t really believe in religion, he goes to church because he knows being there on Sunday will make her smile. He still likes Asgore immensely, but their relationship was never quite as close after Asgore dropped out of school.
-He likes Kris a lot--a little more than Asriel, though he’d never say that. He can see a smart, bored kid from a mile away, and tries everything he can to engage their mind. It worked pretty well before the divorce.
-This Gaster, though, has not been tempered by great loss and catastrophic failures. His head and hands are whole, and so is his sense of pride. He’s not...arrogant, per se, but he’s confident in his intellect and worth, and hence is much more at ease with others. On the other hand, he has the same predisposition to putting his wants far beyond others. So far, it hasn’t hurt him, and so he hasn’t learned to step back.
-Which...is what’s currently causing the issue with Toriel. She’d been so broken up by where she and Asgore were. So, when she looked particularly sad at a school dance, he’d stepped in and danced with her, just to get her to smile. And then he checked in with her. And then she would come to his room during breaks to talk, and suddenly it was like when they’d first met: both of them full of ideas and opinions and books they needed to share with the other. They’d always been so alike, after all. And if there were long glances or brushed hands or maybe just one stolen kiss in a fit of passion...well, she was separated. And it wasn’t like anyone would ever know.
-If it did get out, though, you can believe that Gaster would be pressured to leave, and Toriel would never mention him again. Really, it’d be like he never existed at all.

LOVEtale Chapter 2 (Part 11): The red flowers.
Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGwRFBlD6qI This scene happened sooner in the conflict of Sans and Ankell, while they were fighting... Red: We are losing time ! How long it will take ? Sans is already fighting and he is getting weaker with the seconds. At this rate, it will be too late. Gaster: There is something blocking the system, and I can’t go by it. Where does it come from ? All the power is blocked and I can’t redirect the determination, what is going on ?! Alphys: We can’t reach it... what are we going to do ? Valye: Stay calm. If you’re all panicked it won’t do any more good.  I stayed near Red, our lollipops in our hands holding them tightly, we needed to be brave. We grabbed each other hand and tried to stay focused. But our minds were always thinking of the worst, we were restless. Alphys: There is kind of a glitch, it couldn’t get in here by itself unless... Gaster: ...That unconscious son of mine .... he knew what we were going to do...  Suddenly the machine started to glow red, yelling “ERROR”  endlessly. Toriel: We have to do something ! Gaster: It’s no use ! Get away from the machine ! It’s going to burst !   Sans knew we were going to try to use the determination left in the system, he blocked every way of using it and ultimately erase what was left. There is no solution left. As everybody was getting away from the machine quickly, I noticed too late that Red stayed there and walked slowly in the direction of the determination machine. Her eyes wide open, she raised her arm, pointing with her hand her last hope to save Sans that was about to blow up. She stay silent, watching with despair her last chance fade away...
Tumblr media
The explosion was brutal, but Red stood there at the same place, a little dirty from the burst but she looked unarmed physically. In the other hand, her spirit was broken, she fell on her knees and looked directly of the ruins of the installation, the same that could  have given her the way to save her brother. She started shimmering from every inch of her body, holding her arms together, like trying to calm herself, but it was no use.      I came as quickly as I could to help her. She couldn’t look away from the machine, she just said one thing, her voice trembling with sadness: Red: I... couldn’t... protect them...  I stayed close to her, trying to comfort her but everybody in the room knew. Nothing coming from the underground could help Sans and Frisk. We were powerless. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aksTXH78iQ0 (put it on endless mode) Since I was a child, I didn’t have any friends. My grandpa was the only friend and family I had. The times we spent together were rare as he was a famous doctor and always working hard but I enjoyed everyone of them. At school, I was always left behind, alone, because of my eye... They used to call me  monster or demon. I was too shy to say anything, I didn’t even knew myself what was it. With the years, the people were getting more and more distant as the infection was getting worse. Some people were scared to catch something like a dangerous disease or even to be cursed... Even if the teachers were supporting me, the classes never were. At some point I was trying to avoid contact, and avoid their reactions, but it was hard to live everyday feared by everyone ...   When I was 12 years old, my Grandpa became really sick and ultimately past away... The disease was well known by the other doctors, it was something unfortunate, that could happen to anybody. But when the classes learned about this, they linked my Grandpa’s demise with the “curse” of my eye... It all got worse... I was alone in that appartment, and studied with persons who despised me even more than before. Their hate was getting more intense, when something bad happened it was always my eye. I didn’t have the strenght to fight back, I just wanted to be done with the day and cry in my bed.    The only comfort I had was reading, the books brought me away from my problems, but even if it helped me feel better, in a way they were also hiding me from my issues.      When I was 14, some student started to bully me regularly, stealing my lunch and getting away with insults. “You’re a demon”, “You don’t deserve to exist”... At some point, I was even going to... give up... but something was always trying to keep my alive, like someone else was in my heart, keeping me company without me even knowing. And so I struggled everyday, what I could. At first I thought being feared by anyone was really annoying, but I reached a point where I feared everyone and it was far worse...   My life changed forever, at my 16 years old. We were in class, in the middle of the year, a new student came to our high school. Apparently his family came from another city. He was a boy, 17 years old, with semi long black hair and always looking away. Like me, he was always alone strangely, he didn’t wanted to be friends with anyone even when people asked him, he was ignoring them, not even looking at them. Apparently he was expelled from his previous school because he was violent and he injured some other students. But he didn’t seem to look violent at all, just very reclusive. So one day, I finally got the courage to try to talk to him, and ask him to be friend: Araelle: Greetings.  He looked at me for a second, then replied: Boy: You are that girl with the freaky eye I’ve heard, aren’t you ? Just go away, I don’t want to talk... Araelle: Are you ok ? You don’t look so good. He looked away and started walking without answering.   The same day, while I was going home, I ran into some bullies from high school again, the same one... their chief was called Adrix, he was the worst person I ever met. He was the most violent and agressive bully, always yelling at me that one day he’ll kill me himself... During the beating, one of them grabbed me by the hair, I was in so much pain, I just wanted to go home...   But something unusual happened, someone came and helped me, it was the first time in two years that happened... The person who came beat down the three bullies one by one, he was the new student. Alix: What are you doing, you dumb dunkey ?! Can’t you see that she is evil ! She must be destroyed at all cost ! Boy:  I’ve ran into some punks in my life, but you definitely win the cake and the cherry. Unless you want another lesson I suggest you and your goons to go away and never touch her again. Alix: Grrr, you’ll regret this. you helped that demon, you are as corrupted as her.  He then went off with the other two. The boy came and carried me. Boy: Don’t move I’ll bring you to your home. Do you live far from here ?   It was the first time, someone helped me, despite being hurt I never felt so good in my life, he put me on his back and I held him tightly, blushing I answered: Araelle: Just two streets... on the right... Thank you...   During the travel we talked a little. Araelle: Why, did you helped me ? Boy: Why do I need a reason to help someone ? Araelle: I mean, nobody never helps me... you’re the first ... Boy: You are telling me that this happens frequently ?  With the emotion I just closed my mouth, moaned and said yes with the head. Boy: Why this guy called you a demon ? Araelle:  My eye...  Boy: I saw it, but I don’t get all the hype about it, I mean it just looks like a birth anomaly nothing more, people are really stupid sometimes seriously...  It didn’t looked much by itself but those words filled me with so much happiness and joy. i smiled at him and replied. Araelle: Thank you.   We went on the apartment and he healed me. He was surprised that I was alone in here. We continued our talk together. Araelle: I’m sorry but I don’t even know you name ? My name is Araelle by the way. Boy: Oh right where are my manners ? I’m Eone. Araelle: That’s a nice name. Eone: Meh I don’t think so... but if you like it that’s good right ? Anyway you are lucky that my house is on the same way, or else you could have been really injured. Araelle: I want to thank you again. You’re so kind, that’s the first time someone does something for me. I heard you came from another school because you injured people, but I’m sure it’s just rumors. Eone: Actually there are not. I did beat some guys down. Araelle: That doesn’t seem real for me. Eone: Well, those bastards threatened a friend I had, and well you know the rest. Don’t want to bore you with the details but the guys all went to the hospital and teachers decided it was my fault and bla bla bla rejected and finally came here. Araelle: What happened to your friend ? Eone: Well, he was the one who sold me out, after all I did for him... That’s why I tried to avoid the others when I came here. I changed of city because my mother got a mutation, I was about to leave the school anyway without them expelling me.I know I shouldn’t talk bad about my parents but I really think they don’t care about me, it feels lonely at home even with them around.  Araelle: Eone, I know you didn’t answer to anybody but... Can we be friends ?   He looked and smiled at me. Eone: Sure. You look always so lonely. Oh and sorry for calling your eye huh “freaky” I tried to make you go away, but I guess it’s not easy to live alone around here.  Araelle: Th... thank you !  I was crying of joy, the first friend I made, I felt so warm inside my chest.  Eone: Oh no no no no ! Please don’t cry... Araelle: Sorry...    After that day, we became best friends, and since he was always near me, the bullies started to calm down. They noticed Eone was really strong. Like this we spent three months until something happened.  Eone: Hey, Araelle do you know about the park city. Araelle: I used to go there often to read some books. Why ?  He was blushing. Eone: Well, for now I have to go, but I have something really important to tell you so, can we meet at the park this night at 9 pm ? Araelle: Sure, so I’ll meet you there.  Eone: Yeah, later.   He looked really uncomfortable, I wandered what he wanted to tell me, I never saw him blush before. At night I went in the park like he asked me. The park was filled with golden flowers, beautiful trees and a lake in the center.  He was already here when I came.  Eone: Hi, Araelle ! Araelle: Hi, Eone how are you doing ? Eone: I’m fine thank you, how about we walk a little ? Araelle: Okay.  We grabbed each other hands and walked around the lake, after several minutes of silence, he tried talk. Eone: Well, the thing I wanted to tell you...   We suddenly heard some noise, we looked behind us. Adrix was here with his goons.  Alix: We meet again, remember me ?   Eone put himself in front of me, blocking me with his arm. Eone: It won’t be long Araelle. I’ll be back right away. Now run.    Scared by Adrix I ran away, and hid myself behind one of the trees. Looking at the scene in the distance. Eone fought how he could but got trapped by the two bullies who were holding each of his arms, he was defenseless but I was so frightened I couldn’t move. After getting beaten  down, they pulled him up again, the scene was unbearable.  Alix: Those corrupted by the devil will perish like the devil. He pulled out a pocket knife. Alix: After I’m done with you, I’ll go for that demon.  Eone didn’t said anything, the last thing I remember of that scene was the scream of Eone. My heart stopped beating, they threw him in golden flowers, the blood from his wound made the flowers around him red, and I finally passed out with the shock.
Tumblr media
I woke up in the morning in a hospital without injuries, a nurse came and I asked her instantly what happened....    Eone died from bleeding, he was deep wounded in the torso... But strangely enough, Adrix and his troups were also dead but the weapon wasn’t found, apparently they were pierced with an unknown large object, I didn’t cared. This day I lost my only friend, I never cried so hard in my life...    The scene traumatised me, I got a lot of trouble getting outside, in every person I was looking, I saw Adrix and his goons, to walk normally on the street became an almost impossible task. The news about the park spread really fastly in the class, for them I was the one who killed them all, including Eone... I tried to see Eone’s parents but for them it’s also my fault if their son died, I can’t blame them, they were right. I stood there watching him die in front of me, instead of saving the only friend I had... The nightmares soon started with the crisis, I was a sick girl in a old appartment, alone, with nobody to talk or rely on.    The “curse” of my eye at least granted me some calm for a change, with Adrix gone, I never was bullied again. Until that day, when Sans appeared. With the robber, the way he said to him to go away, he reminded me a lot of him. I only know Sans for a day but he is my friend, and I don’t want to lose someone else like Eone. This time I will do something for him. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////   I finally woke up from Sans attack, the little angel was watching the fight. Sans looked exhausted, he was in a very bad state, at this rate, he won’t last long. Sans: It all comes down to this… old man. One last strike to decide everything… Give it your best shot. Ankell: Alright, mah boy, I hope you are ready. I’ll show you my most powerful attack, I once cut through steel with this, so you better be prepared. Sans: Fine, in that case… I’ll show you… my special attack. Ankell: You finally decided to attack me, huh. It’s not too soon, mah boy.   Ankell was about to attack Sans, he won’t be able to dodge his attack, they were so far from here, but I couldn’t let Sans die like this. What could I do ? I felt suddenly something warm, overwhelm me. I remembered something. (Araelle: Sorry to ask, but your soul is made of magic, right ? What kind of magic can you use ? Sans: I can summon bones to attack, use shortcuts to go in a place very fast, or even levitate the soul of someone else. Araelle: Really ? That’s incredible , mister Sans. How is it work ? Sans: I concentrate my magic, let the imagination shape it like I want and then release it. ). //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////  I had only one DT left but Sans told me, I’ll need it for later. Ankell was rushing towards us, and Sans was about to pass out. The situation was very tricky, and I couldn’t think of any solution. Suddenly something unrealistic happened. Araelle:  I’m not letting you die here, Sans ! Frisk & Sans:  ARAELLE !   Araelle just appeared in front of us, how did she did that ?! What happened to her, Sans felt a very powerful magic, did it came from her ? HE told us that humans couldn’t use magic ? How was that possible ? She looked different too, her hair was a little longer and had a very shiny white color, her body was glowing magic around her. And her soul became white. We were so confused... Sans told me Araelle just did a shortcut, the same magic we can use, without understanding how it was possible.

Sans was about to fall unconscious before Araelle came out but the sudden worry he felt woke him up, even if he was still almost paralysed. But what did Araelle had in mind ? She can’t beat Ankell, even with this magic... Sans opened wide his eyes, he understood what she was doing... Sans: ARAELLE, GET AWAY ! YOU WON’T RESIST HIS ATTACK !   Araelle just smiled, as she raised up her arms, she was positionned to receive Ankell’s final strike before it reaches Sans... even if it meant to sacrifice her own life... The king had too much momentum, he couldn’t stop his own attack. Araelle was crying and smiling, looking directly at the one who was about to execute her and said with a shimmering voice: Araelle: You will have a second chance to save your friends...Sans.   I was near Sans all the time and something really scared me at that point. At first he was nervous of the situation, then calmed himself, before looking at me with a sad smile. Frisk: Sans ? What ... are...you .... Sans: Thank you, kiddo...    He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the fight, where nothing could have hurten me. He then concentrated every portion of magic he had left in his left eye including the bone attack, despite the pain and without the determination. The concentration was unstable and finally burst out his left eye and a big part of the left part of his skull... With the left of the magic, he used one last spell...   It was like the time stopped in the world. The wind stopped howling, the flowers were lifeless, only the silence was floating as the fight was finally over. Araelle had her eyes wide open, shocked and horrified by what she was watching... Sans had the skull cracked opened, the magic was flowing out of it, some of it were making little sparks of light blue lights, floating in the air like fireflies... Sans: That... was too close... for comfort... Are ... you... okay....?    Hands in his pockets, he was aimlessly watching the sky above the man who  just cut through him. Sans used the last bit of life and magic he had to use one last shortcut and block the attack before it reaches Araelle. The blade cut straight through the magic part of our soul in the center, only this part was hit, he pushed me away before the impact got into my soul... The sword of Torano, the one that was supposed to not be soiled by blood or dust, was covered by the blood of Sans, it was heavily dripping on the golden flowers, making them red like poppies of suffering... The HP he had.... was down to 0. I watched the scene, lost and confused... it took me several seconds to realize what was happening, the surprise was soon enough replaced by despair, as I understood that Sans sacrificed his life to save a human, a human he just met. I fell on the knees, watching my friend’s life, going away with the seconds...     As for Araelle... The scene completely overwhelmed her as the moonlight was showing her only friend, dying in front of her. After several seconds, she fell on the floor, screaming without an end. The tears started to drop from my eyes as her screams reminded me that this scene was a nightmare that became true....

Bound Together: Part 4
Skywardsister: Sans pat Habriel on the shoulder and helped him up off the couch. Papyrus waved goodbye sadly and Frisk led him all the way back to Toriel's house, where they settled down to some hot chocolate and pie. Utadukeeus: Habriel however, wanted a glass of water. Toriel also gave him a blanket to wrap himself in. The goat mother knelt down in front of the boy and placed her palm on his forehead. "So, what did we learn today?" Toriel asked. "Don't eat Papyrus' spaghetti?" Habriel asked. "Yes, but more importantly, listen to Sans." she said. "Yes, mother...." he said, holding his head. Skywardsister: Frisk sat cross-legged on the carpet by Habriel and looked up at him. "Yeah, if you're ever in a situation away from home, Sans usually knows how to handle things!" They offered to show Habriel the rest of the underground the next day, perhaps this time without the skeletons. Utadukeeus: "You're right." Habriel said. "He saved my life, I owe him that much." "Well, I'm happy that your safe here, with me." Toriel said. "I think I'll go with you tomorrow." "That'd be great!" Frisk exclaimed. "I haven't explored the Underground with you around" "But we shouldn't take too long out there." Toriel said. "I still have chores to do." "I can't wait!" Frisk said excitedly. "You'll probably get to meet Undyne and Alphys tomorrow!" Skywardsister: "Who are Undyne and Alphys?" Habriel peered down at Frisk curiously. "You'll find out tomorrow," Frisk stated eagerly with a smile. "That's right," Toriel said. "Just rest for tonight, my child. After Papyrus' spaghetti, you might need it." She winked and patted his head, slightly messing up his hair. He chuckled and fixed it, watching as she moved back into the kitchen. Utadukeeus: He got up with his blanket still wrapped around him and slowly walked to the front door. "Where are you going?" Frisk asked. "Oh, just the porch." Habriel said. "I need a little fresh air." Skywardsister: "Just don't go out for too long," Toriel called to him. "It's getting late, and it's pretty cold out there." Frisk watched as Habriel shuffled to the door and pulled it open, stepping outside with the blanket slipping down his legs and trailing at his feet. He slowly picked it up as the door closed behind him. Toriel wondered if he was alright and told Frisk to go out if he didn't return soon. Utadukeeus: Slowly stepping outside, he took in a good whiff of the nice cool air. He went down the stairs, and down the hallway over to where the flowers were. He looked up and saw a hint of the beautiful night sky. It wasn't much, but it made him feel at peace. "Wow, another human!" a light pitched voice said. Habriel looked around, unable to find whoever made that sound. "Down here, mister!" the voice called out. Habriel looked down and saw a little flower with a smiling face. "Oh, sorry." Habriel chuckled. "I didn't expect to meet a talking flower. I'm Habriel." "Nice to meet you, I'm Flowey!" the flower gleefully said. Skywardsister: Frisk walked 'round in circles near the armchair and fireplace, tracing the carpet designs with their feet in boredom. "I wonder what he's doing?" They asked themselves out loud, looking down at the patterns beneath their toes. Toriel worked away in the kitchen at making food for them. "My child, has Habriel come back yet?" "No, Mom," Frisk looked up from their idle movement. "Would you go out and see what he's up to?" Toriel peered from the kitchen. "Sure," Frisk called and left the house to search for the boy. Utadukeeus: They went outside and quickly ran down the porch and through the hallway. 'There's only one place he can be.' Frisk thought. They saw Habriel at the garden, talking to Flowey. "Oh no." they muttered. They sprinted back to the porch as fast as they could. "Mom!" she called. Skywardsister: Toriel stopped working and padded through the rooms to Frisk. "What is it, my ch-" She spotted Habriel a distance away in the garden, talking to Flowey. "My child!" She motioned for Frisk to stay where they were and she moved quickly and quietly to where her child was. Utadukeeus: "But I don't really want to fight anyone down here." Habriel said. "Well, that's a shame." Flowey said. "Because in this world, it's kill or be killed." Multiple bullet seeds appeared, surrounding Habriel. Flowey's gentle and kind face turned menacing and terrible. "Let's practice." he said. Skywardsister: A ball of fire appeared and shot out behind the menacing flower, hitting him. He shrieked and the pellets shot out away from Habriel in all directions. Toriel ran up and practically stepped on Flowey's petals to reach Habriel. She glared at the flower with loathing for a moment before going to hug the scared boy. Utadukeeus: "What's going on, mother?" the boy gasped. "One minute we were chatting, the next he tried to kill me." "It's okay, child." Toriel said, still hugging him tightly. "Flowey was never nice. I'm sorry you learned that the hard way." Before they realized it, more bullet seeds surrounded both of them. "What!?" Toriel gasped! Flowey quickly emerged from the ground. "You think it'd be that easy again?" Flowey laughed. "Now you're both cornered!" The seeds quickly closed in and Habriel held out a hand, bracing himself. However, the seeds never hit them. Habriel and Toriel were inside a violet bubble that appeared out of nowhere. "What!?" Flowey gasped! Toriel looked down and saw Habriel's eyes glowing violet. Habriel, just as shocked as everyone else, had no idea where it came from, and had no idea why the seeds didn't hit him. Skywardsister: Frisk watched from the porch in curiosity and terror. They had gone back into the kitchen and taken a frying pan and were still standing on the porch, frozen. They clutched the handle in their right hand, ready to charge in and bash Flowey over the head with it if need be. Utadukeeus: Habriel looked up at Toriel who was just as shocked as he was. "Mother, mother what's happening?" Toriel snapped out of her trance and looked down at the confused boy. "I'll explain later child." she said. "For now...." she clasped her hands and balls of fire surrounded the bubble and all went flying towards Flowey. "Darn it!" Flowey said, burrowing underground. After a couple minutes of scanning the area, Toriel put out the flames around the bubble. "Looks like its gone." she said as the bubble disappeared. Skywardsister: Toriel rushed Habriel back to the porch where they met up with Frisk, who leapt at them and hugged them hard. "Stay away from Flowey as much as possible, my child," Toriel murmured as they went back inside the house. This sentence went undisputed after Habriel's experience. It took some time for the three to relax once again. Utadukeeus: They went back where Toriel sent Frisk to her own bed, she tucked her in and gave her a kiss before leaving and closing the door behind her. She slowly walked down stairs where Habriel was waiting by the fire. She approached him from behind and rested a hand on his shoulder. He looked up, relieved that she came when she did. "What was that?" Habriel asked. "What was that bubble?" Skywardsister: "I'm not quite sure, my child," Toriel said quietly as to not awaken Frisk from their sleep. "It has to do with your soul and magic. You already saw Sans and I use our magic to help you; the magic comes from the soul. We all have different types of souls, each associated with their own type of magic. Your soul is very unique. That bubble was part of your magic." Utadukeeus: "I don't know how I did it." Habriel said, looking down at his hand. "How do you do it?" "Why do you want to learn?" Toriel puzzlingly asked. "What would you do with it?" "I'd..."Habriel paused. "I'd use it to protect the people I care about. You, Frisk, Sans, Papyrus. I don't want anyone like Flowey hurting you." Skywardsister: Toriel's expression calmed into a soft smile. She loved him as her own; he certainly took after her in the mercy aspect. "Oh, of course," She said. "I can try to teach you. It will take time, though. You may have triggered it through intense emotion. For now, just don't worry about Flowey. Even without me around, Frisk even knows how to handle him." She laid her hand on his head. Utadukeeus: "I can't wait to learn." Habriel said. "I bet you'll make a great teacher!"Toriel sat down on the sofa, pulled her glasses out of her pocket and pulled out a book. "Funny." she said. "I always wanted to be a teacher." "You're full of surprises." he said. "A caring mother, a potential teacher." He smiled wide. "And a great cook." he said. Skywardsister: "Oh, my child, don't flatter me," Toriel chuckled and looked at Habriel above the rims of her glasses. "Alright, let's see..." She flipped through multiple pages in the book to a certain page and stopped to look at it. "This seems like the right place to start." Utadukeeus: "What does?" Habriel asked. "Does it have to do with my soul and magic?" Toriel scanned the page and looked up at Habriel. Skywardsister: She continued to skim the page with squinted eyes, sometimes mouthing the words on the page to herself absentmindedly. "Yes, child, one moment..." She trailed off, still reading. Habriel watched her in slight apprehension. "Okay, we can begin here. I'll first teach you about the connection between the magic and the soul. Both monsters and humans have this." Utadukeeus: Habriel followed her, carefully listening. "It takes the soul of every monster in the Underground to match the soul of a single human." "That hardly seems fair." Habriel said. "Unfortunately, life's not fair, child." Toriel said. "The souls of most monsters cannot survive after death and will dissipate. However, a human's soul is strong enough to persist after death." "So, a monster could possibly take advantage of that." Habriel muttered. "Hmm." Toriel muttered. "I remember Alphys announcing the truth about how to go through the barrier. You needed the soul of one monster and one human to pass through." Skywardsister: "Really?" Habriel asked. "Yes. But we're sort of past that, now. We don't want to harm any humans that come down here," Toriel noted as she read to him from the book. "We just remain here, living like this. But anyway, each soul, monster and human, has a certain type of power; a trait that is prominent within that person. For example, Frisk's soul is made of determination." Utadukeeus: "What's mine?" He asked. "What makes mine unique?" "Your soul, child. Is the color of Fairness." Toriel said. "How ironic, considering what you've been through. That hardly seems fair." "Well, without those events, I wouldn't have met any of you." Habriel said. "I'd have probably just been neglected by my parents anyway." Skywardsister: Toriel thought about his life for a moment. "How peculiar; it's also like your soul reflects life's cause-and-effect... you experienced such trauma but now you've gotten a home right after it..." Utadukeeus: "Are you saying that we were destined to meet?" Habriel asked. "I'm not sure, child." she said. "Oh! I found something about the seven human wizards! Apparently, one of them had a soul of fairness, like yours!" "What does it say about them?" he asked. "Nothing, child." she said. "It simply lists the traits that each wizard had. Determination, Bravery, Integrity, Kindness, Justice, Patience, and Fairness." Skywardsister: "Oh," Habriel said. He wondered why the book didn't list more about the wizards- he was interested to hear more about them. "We can always go to the library in Snowdin if you would like, my child," Toriel stated lightly. "But for now, I can read more of this to you." Utadukeeus: "Oh, of course." Habriel said. The concept of magic being linked to the individual's unique soul fascinated him. "I'd love to hear what else it has to say." Toriel looked over and saw a little goat boy. Fascinated at the stories she told him before he went to bed. Her eyes widened in shock. "My, child?" she gasped. "Is something wrong, mother?" Habriel asked. Toriel snapped out of her little trance and saw Habriel again. Skywardsister: "I- I'm sorry, it's nothing, Habriel." Toriel blinked a few times in disbelief. "You just reminded me of... someone I used to know, that's all. Let me tuck you in," She hurriedly said with a soft tone, leading Habriel into her room and to her bed. She kissed his forehead goodnight and went back to the chair by the fireplace. Utadukeeus: Toriel skimmed a few pages, slightly sweating. 'What's going on?' she thought to herself. **************************************************************************************************** In the middle of the night, one of the priests at the cathedral was reading all the reports on the basement. He wore white robes with red edges, an amulet with a cross, and earrings with the same crosses on them. "We made a lot of money, today." the priest said. He pulled out profiles of children and put a stamp on them saying 'Sold'. He took a deep breath and laid back on his wheel chair, only to hear his cell phone go off. "Hello?" the priest asked. "What happened?" a deep, menacing voice asked. "You'll be satisfied to hear that he failed to escape." the priest said. "He almost got away, but we cornered him. He's bleeding to death in a cave." "Where?" the voice asked. "The one in the mountain nearby our cathedral." the priest said. "Mt. Ebott!?" the voice gasped. "That's what its called?" the priest asked. "Yeah, sure. Whatever that mountain is called." "Damn it!" the voice exasperated. "Of course you'd screw this up!" "What do you mean?" the priest asked. "None of your concern anymore!" the voice said. "If word gets out of our activities, even down there. It could risk our entire operation!" "Calm down." the priest said. "There's no way-" the other person hung up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The voice on the other end was a tall man in black robes. His face was hidden behind his hood. He looked up at an assistant, waiting for her orders. "Send someone down there to fix their screw ups. They're to kill the boy and any monster he's with. I don't care how." "As you wish." the lady bowed as she slowly made her way out the room.
