Clean Break - (Tobin Heath x reader)

Tobin's Pov

"Can you see her?" Allie asks for about the tenth time. I shake my head as I stand on my toes trying to see over the sea of people, "Nope". "Well its pretty hard with this big a crowd" Christen says. "Shouldn't it be easy to spot Y/n? Like wouldn't she attract a big crowd?" Kelley says her still scanning the crowd for Y/n.

Today we and a few of the girls are at the skate park. Y/n was competing today and I wanted to come and support her and when the girls found out they wanted to tag along as well. I met Y/n two years ago. She showed up to one of our matches and she was recognised from the crowd due to her being a professional skateboarder and we got to talk after the match. The next day me, Ash and a few others went to the nearby skate park and we met again. I was somehow able to ask her out and we've been together ever since.

"No, everyone knows not to crowd Y/n. Fans have been warned not to swarm her" I say. Let's just say Y/n has had some bad experiences with crowds. One time after she had a great run she was swarmed but in the chaos someone broke her board which she was really upset by. Another time the crowd was so rowdy that she ended up getting a blow to the head and was out with a concussion. Due to these events and a lot more (like someone trying to tackle her off her board) Y/n gets extremely stressed and nervous around crowds. This is her first competition back in a while as the stress was getting too much for her and she decided to take a break. But now she's back and better than ever, but all fans have been warned to give Y/n space and she will be under protection for the duration of the competition.

"Maybe we should just go to where she's skating? We'll probably find her there" Ash suggests. I don't take my eyes off the crowd my head on a swivel, "No she texted me saying she would meet me here first and we would walk to the event together". Finally I spot her riding clothes in her signature black and red colours. Which I joke saying she picked the thorns colours but she profusely denies, it also doesn't help that her middle name is Rose. "Tobin!" She shouts waving her arm in the air like mad before pushing her way through the crowd. I could vaguely make out what looks like a security guard standing off to the side.

Well at least it's good to know she's protected this time

"Y/n!" I call out as I collide into her in a hug. "I've missed you so much Toby" she mumbles into my neck. "I missed you too Y/n/n". We when pull away I give her a quick peck before she turns to the rest of the girls, "Great to see you all again". "Good to see you too Y/n" Christen says before hugging her. "Can't wait to watch you absolutely crush it today!" Ash shouts which earns an yelp of agreement from Kelley. "Thanks guys it means a lot" Y/n thanks sinking back into my side as I wrap an arm securely around her waist.

God I've missed this

"How are you feeling anyway?" Allie asks. She just shrugs, "I feel fine. I think once I start I'll be okay. Just a bit nervous I guess". I tighten my hold on her and kiss her temple, "You'll do great. You got this". "Says miss World Champion" she teases causing me to go red which sends the girls into hysterics. "Y/n/nnnnn" I whine but she just squishes my cheeks in one hand and kisses my cheek, "Sorry babe". I roll my eyes at my girlfriend's antics but smile regardless. We start to make our way towards where Y/n would be riding knowing the crowd would get bigger as time drew closer. "Okay I better head up now" Y/n says as we pulling apart. I nod before giving her a quick peck, "Good luck Babe. Be careful". "For you? Always". And with that Y/n went to the top of the ramp preparing for her run.

We waited another half an hour before it was finally Y/n's turn to go. She stood at the edge of the ramp her skateboard at the ready as the announcer spoke up, "And the next contestant is a well known fan favourite. Making her return give it up for Y/n L/n!". The fans screamed as Y/n kicked off starting her run. Everything was going great. Although some of them I had to watch from behind my fingers scared she wasn't going to make it. When her run was done she finished back on top of the ramp and pumped her fist on the air as the crowd erupted in cheers.

As everyone was too busy celebrating Y/n's run, no one noticed the fan climb to the top of the ramp. "Y/n! I love you!" The fan screamed as they tried to get closer but some people tried to stop them. Y/n panicked and stepped back in fear. In all madness Y/n was pushed off the top of the ramp at the fan fought against the security. I watched as my girlfriend fell onto the bottom of the ramp and over all the noise a deafening snap could be heard. "Y/n!" I shout as I jump the barrier and rush to her side. When I reach Y/n she was crying cradling her right arm. I pulled her up and leaned her against me, "It's going to be okay Y/n. Everything's fine". The first aid on call soon came to Y/n's side and inspected her arm. Y/n whimpered as the first aid checked her over causing me to glare at the man. "I think it's broken but your going to need to get it checked out at the hospital to be sure" he stated. He put it a temporary sling.

We quickly rushed to hospital to get her checked out. She had been gone for an hour or two when the nurse allowed us in. When we walked in Y/n was sitting on a bed with a dazed and sad look on her. "Well as you could have guessed her arm is broken. But we have it in a cast to allow it to heal. She has some bruising from the fall and was in a bit of pain but other than that she's fine. So she's good to go once she's signed out. But be warned she was given some pretty strong pain killers to help with the pain in her arm and from the fall" the nurse said before leaving the room. I got to sit beside Y/n, "Hey Y/n, how you feeling?" She just giggles giddily, "Fuzzy". "God she's so doped up" Kelley laughs with Ash but they both get smacked by Ali and Alex. Y/n grabs my hand, "Toby! I need to tell you something!". I chuckle, "What is it Y/n?" "I think Tobin is really hot!" This gets everyone to laugh.

God she is so high

"Shushhhh don't tell her! It's a secret!" She slurs dropping her head back into the pillow. "Okay Y/n" I smile. This is going to be fun telling her all this later. "Yeah I'm going to marry her some day" Y/n whispers. That causes everyone to sober up a bit as they all quietly watch the girl lying in the bed. "Are you now?" I ask her just above a whisper. Y/n just laughs and nods, "Yeah she's everything. She's just so cute and cuddly. And fluffy!" (We can be friends if you get this movie reference). I bit my lip trying to contain my laugh. She's always loved that movie. "But you can tell her it's a surprise!!" Y/n whispers again. "I won't tell her Y/n" I say brushing some hair behind her ear. "M'kay. Imma sleep now" and within a minute she's already passed out on the bed. "Well that was cute as fuck" Allie whispers from behind me. I just smile widely

And I can't wait to marry you, Y/n
