Short Story II AlanXEric ((Do not stop reading at all until the end! I would never break up this beautiful couple!))
"Oh Alan, only if there were a person in this world who truly loved you…” Eric said as he smirked.
“What?!” Alan said, having another attack.
“I’m only teasing.” Eric said.
“Only teasing?! Don’t you realize how much that hurt me?!” Alan asked in an upset way.
“Alan, I didn’t mean it.” Eric said going to touch Alan’s shoulder.
“Don’t you dare touch me!” Alan said, backing away from Eric angrily.
“Alan?!” Eric said, “What the hell? I was only freaking teasing!”
Alan started to cry, and stormed off into his room slamming the door behind him, landing on his bed.
Eric came in his room, “Alan.”
“Don’t even talk to me! I don’t want to hear or see you for the rest of the night!” Alan shouted.
“Al--”
“What did I JUST say?!” Alan said angrily.
Eric kept quiet, and sighed.
“I don’t even want to feel you with me.” Alan said.
Eric stayed by the door of the room. “What’s up?”
“What’s up?! What’s up?! I’ll tell you what’s up! You hurt me by first of all ignoring me, second of all you freaking left me to have pain, and caused me to have worse pain!” Alan snapped.
“Alan I--”
“Don’t talk to me!” Alan yelled.
Eric left the room, and Alan cried, and continued to cry, then he cried himself to sleep.
A while later Alan was awoke by a woman’s whistle, and he woke in a trance, and put his glasses on, and left his room like he can’t control his own two feet, and the woman seduced him, and went across his shoulders, then she twirled to one side, Alan looked the opposite way looking for her, and Eric saw him, and ran over by him, and the woman twirled to the other side and Alan looked the opposite way trying to look for her again. Then the woman led him her way as she was backing up, smirking and Alan was walking her way like his feet are being forced to walk him towards her.
Then Eric grabbed Alan, and went in front of him, and said “Alan?” then Alan looked at Eric and shook his head. Then when the woman disappeared angrily Alan started having a heart attack, and Eric helped him to a bed. When Alan was lying in the bed, Alan said, “I’m sorry Eric.” He then sighed.
“Sorry for what Al?” Eric asked holding Alan’s hand.
“Sorry how I acted towards you back there, I just, was so upset when you told me that. I know you were teasing, but it hurt me, terribly, like you know when best friends fall in love, and date after a while? When in different genders, one of them want to say ‘I love you.’ But too scared to say, because they are worried about the other not thinking the same way, and only love you as a best friend, same when in same genders, like us, I was the one who wanted to say ‘I love you’ first, but too scared to do so. I just, don’t want you and I to be apart, for good, and I’d hate it if we ended up like that. You remember our first date? How it was so awkward until we knew what to talk about between each other, and leaning a little closer to one another, we were comfortable. At that sunset that night, and then oh~ that beautifully decorated restaurant… I loved it. The reason of I want you to stay with me, is when I’m with you, I feel less… alone. Even when your not here beside me, and when I know you love me, I do feel less… alone…” Alan said, then he fell asleep.
Eric sighed, and kissed Alan on the cheek, “I love you Al. I would never leave you, because, you are my light, and the one I truly love.”

ooc: Alan and Eric.
I was thinking of this and I've realised something. I'll try to keep it simple.
Alan - A  Eric - E Alan&Eric - A&E  A&E - Accident and Emergency Accident - Alan caught the Thorns of Death - a tragic accident  Emergency - Eric saw his act of saving Alan as an emergency
Does anyone else see what I'm getting at here?  It might just be my mind crack, but to me, this means something, and I want to see what other people think.

Dancing a Tango to Hell - opening paragraph
Our relationship was a lot like a dance. Not one of those crazy club dances, where people are throwing their bodies against each other in a creepy animalistic display of sexuality. No, it is more like a really weird and intricate tango – hands clasped, looking dead into his eyes, sexual tension rising to nearly violent levels, twisting and turning and stabbing and occasionally spinning out of control. But the most important thing is to never ever let go of your partner’s hand. You trust him, he trusts you. That’s how Alan and I were.
Should I continue it? I don't even know. It's just something I threw together during one of my depressing three-hour evening classes...

DISCLAMER: **This is referring to the original running and cast for the play "Kuroshitsuji: The Most Beautiful DEATH in the World," NOT the 2014 re-run. Broken Ch. 12
Eric ran faster than Alan, and Alan stopped, coughing, and fell to the ground, Eric ran over to his side to help him. Eric helped him to walk, “You going to be alright Al?”
“Yes, I am. No worries. Just a little rest and I’ll be better.” Alan started to cough again.
Eric found a cabin, and helped Alan to walk in that direction. “Everything is going to be alright Al. We’ll stay here.” Eric sat Alan on the couch in the cabin, and put on a fire, it was super cold since it is winter.
“E…E…E…Eric, I don’t think I can make it in this “…c…c…condition.” Alan said while shivering crazily. Eric said, “No, you’ll be fine, here, I’ll warm you up as much as I can.” Eric sat on the couch Alan was sitting on, and Eric held Alan close and cuddled him.
Alan cuddled closer as his teeth were chattering, Eric helped Alan to the floor, to get closer to the fireplace. Alan pulled Eric down next to him. “I feel warmer cuddled up to you Eriku~.” Alan said holding onto Eric. “Alright.” Eric held Alan close again.
  ~ xx ~
Grell saw Eric and Alan’s glasses on the ground, glass in the lenses shattered all around them. “They ran away? Together? How pathetic! They can’t even hate each other for a minute can they? That’ll be brilliant when they do.” Grell stepped on both of the glasses causing them to break even more. “Isn’t it lovely to hear the sound of shattered glass from really broken glasses?” Grell smirked, and skipped off leaving the broken glasses behind.
~ xx ~
Alan smiled as Eric cuddled him, “Thank you Eriku.” Alan said, in a tired voice.
“You’re welcome Al, now get some rest, there is a bed just there.” Eric said after he kissed Alan’s forehead.
“Can you come with me?” Alan asked.
  “O-okay I g-guess…” Eric said nervously.
“No need to be nervous, we’ll only be cuddling to keep warm.” Alan said with his tiny smile. Alan got up from the floor, and climbed in that bed, and lifted the covers that were there, so Eric could climb in with him.
Eric got under the covers, starting to cuddle Alan again.
“Much warmer.” Alan said, cuddling up to Eric as he held him close.
“Good.” Eric whispered. Alan fell asleep.
“You always fall asleep first Alan.” Eric whispered as he kissed Alan on his cheek. Then Eric fell asleep himself.

Broken Ch. 11
((Warning so many FEELS! I cried just typing it!))
Ronald was sitting with a girl talking to her, William saw Ronald and just looked not so pleased. “Knox, don’t you have some paperwork to be doing?” William suddenly said.
“When the hell did you get here?” Ronald said after he jumped a bit by William suddenly speaking from behind him.
“You got some overtime to be doing, and now that you asked that to me, your overtime is un-paid.” William said, and then he walked off.
Ronald looked like ‘seriously?!’ then got up from the chair next to the girl, and was walking off, then he stopped and turned around and kissed the girl on the cheek, then he left.
  ~ xx ~
Eric waited till Alan didn’t see him, to go collect more souls, he has got 100, just 900 more! So Alan was off doing something, and Eric quickly grabbed his scythe and left.
Eric got to 224 souls. 776 more left, still plenty.
Alan noticed Eric was gone, he huffed as he figured Eric was collecting more of the innocent souls. Then he searched for Eric, and where he found him was in a building where a man with blonde long shoulder-length hair, and two young women lying dead as the man was saying strange things about the dead bodies of the women.
Eric left as the man followed him.
Alan ran and followed him as well, when he heard the man saying, “Crystal Palace is the stage artist of death~!”
Eric was thinking, “A thousand souls radiate in the light.” Eric sighed.
Alan was not happy with Eric, and he just left.
When Alan left, ages later when he was home, Eric didn’t come home. There was an invitation in the mail. “Druitt opera.” Alan read. “Is that the guy with Eric? Viscount Druitt?” Alan whispered.
That night, Alan got in a cream dress, with a humiliated look on his face, “I’ll have to wear this if I want to get to Eric. He still hasn’t answered why he was collecting these souls.” Alan walked out of his house, and went to the Druitt opera.
“So many people~!” Viscount said looking down from the beautiful white decorated stair case.
“Glad you invited so many people.” Eric said.
“Yes.” Viscount leaned on the stair case.
  Eric went down the stairs.
“Where are you going? Eric!” Viscount asked reaching at him.
“Do what I need to.” Eric whispered, and he ran off to collect souls.
“Honestly. So many birds are around and yet not one has stolen my heart~!” Viscount said holding his chest with a flat hand. Then he just shrugged and left somewhere else.
Alan arrived in his beautiful cream colored dress, walking in, looking for Eric.
Eric finally got to 999 souls, 1 more to save Alan, took him forever, but it happened! Eric was desperate to collect that last soul, but Alan came up to him. When Eric saw Alan, all he could think of was how adorable Alan looked in the dress he was wearing.
“Eric! Answer me this time, please! What is the reason you’re collecting these innocent souls?! Why?! Why?!”
Eric still just looked at Alan in the dress thinking, ‘What? A dress? It suits him, but why a dress?!’
“Why are you committing this sin?!” Alan asked again, and then he thought Eric wasn’t listening, then he snapped, “Are you even listening to me?!”
“Oh, yeah, um sure…” Eric said, while he was still thinking, “Dress! Dress!”
“Answer me then!” Alan crossed his arms.
‘Way too cute!’ Eric thought, then he shook his head, and ran off in the other direction, but who was there to stop him, but Ronald and William.
“Eric Slingby, the one collecting souls that aren’t supposed to be, is the biggest mistake you’ve made. You are now, the fallen Shinigami.” William said as he pushed his glasses up.
  “Wait!” Alan said, walking closer.
  “What Humphries?!” William said angrily.
Alan kept quiet.
William huffed, then said to Eric, “As I said Slingby, you are now the fallen Shinigami.”
Eric paused, then he just ran off.
Alan ran as well, and then he stopped, he felt pain in his chest area, and started to cough, and fell to the floor, as William and Ronald ran to each of his sides to help him. “I’m fine…” Alan said while having a hard time breathing.
“Okay Alan-Sempai. Eh, William-Sempai, I think we should chase after Eric-Sempai, shouldn’t we?” Ronald said.
“No need.” William answered, as he helped Alan up.
Alan grabbed William’s arm, and caused William to let go of him, and he ran off after Eric again. Well, first he got his suit back on, and then he ran after Eric. He came across Eric running away, and shouted “Eric!”
Eric just ran in another direction away from Alan, but Alan said, “Don’t run away from me like that, please. I just want to know the reason you’re collecting these innocent souls, and making a terrible mistake.”
Eric stopped and sighed, and then said, “You’ll know when I’m done Al.”
“No, please just tell me now!” Alan shouted, Eric didn’t say anything, and then Alan was walking over towards Eric, saying, “If you wanted a soul so badly. Why don’t you just take mine?!” Alan aimed the blade of his scythe at his chest. Then Eric looked over, and ran over saying, “Alan don’t do stupid things!” Alan just said, “Why not? I don’t care! Its just a wasteful long life!” while aiming the blade closer to his chest, as Eric grabbed Alan’s scythe saying quickly, “If you die then everything I have done will just go to waste!” Eric paused as Alan said, “Eriku~?” Eric grabbed Alan’s scythe away.
“If it is what I have been told, the only possible cure is gruesome, by committing a sin! Killing multiple innocent lives to save one life.” Alan said.
  Eric dropped Alan’s scythe.
“If you can possibly kill 1000 pure souls, the thorns of death can be taken off! But wait, isn’t that just an old wives tale?” Alan asked standing up slowly.
Eric grabbed Alan’s shoulders while saying, “It is just 1000 souls Al! You could be saved!”
“But its just an old wives tale!” Alan said grabbing Eric’s upper arms.
Eric then said letting go of Alan and walking of a bit, “Even if it is just an old wives tale!” Eric sighed, “It’s the only way I know can possibly save you now.” Eric said as his voice turned out to sound like he is crying.
  Alan looked at Eric, “Eriku?”
Eric looked at Alan, then went off a bit more saying, “The immortal life… our lives were… dark. And somehow I—and somehow I have finally found… a small faint of light.”
Alan looked at Eric again, “Eri—but no, I wont let you kill anyone anymore!” Eric squinted his eyes like ‘god!’ walking off a bit more, as tears are lying on his cheeks.
“But, until the day my life slowly fades. And I die. I will stay by your side. So that when I do die, I could be the light that shows you each path to go down.” Alan said almost about to cry.
  Eric looked at Alan.
“Since you will always be the one I love.” Alan said walking closer to Eric.
Eric’s heart felt like it sunk, and he said softly, “Alan…”
Alan tried to show a smile, then frowned, and he held one side of his glasses, and hesitantly took them off.
Eric looked surprised, “B-but why? Why do you also want to leave Shinigami Dispatch Society?!”
“Will you make a promise with me to never kill a single soul again? Since, its true, Shinigami can’t see well without glasses, even your face is blurry.” Alan said as he reached up to cup Eric’s cheek.
Eric let him, then when he moved his hand, Eric took off his glasses immediately. “I promise, and I too, couldn’t see clearly, on how such a stubborn guy you could be.”
Alan looked up at Eric, and smiled, “Come. Let’s go.” Alan ran over somewhere to put their glasses, and then was stopped by Eric saying, “I who committed the sins--!” Eric paused as they both looked at each other, and then he said looking away, “Worrying you, can I be forgiven?”
Alan smiled, “Didn’t I tell you that we can’t see clearly without glasses? Even the sins you committed up till today, I can no longer see them.” Eric then understood that he was forgiven, and he followed Alan, and they placed their glasses down gently on a tree stump. Then they looked at one another, and Eric ran away followed by Alan.
  ~ xx ~
Ronald saw the glasses, and picked them up, “Well, this isn’t good. Now, Alan-Sempai ran away. William-Sempai!” Ronald got to William.
  “What Knox?!” William asked.
“See for yourself.” Ronald held Eric and Alan’s glasses up for William to see. “They ran away together, leaving their glasses behind.”
William was now pissed off, his face went red in a pissed off way, and he calmed down, “Who cares.” William said hitting Ronald’s hands so he could drop Eric and Alan’s glasses. “Their not my problem anymore.”
  Ronald shrugged, “Alright William-Sempai.”

Broken (what I have so far)
There is no telling when an attack was going to happen. It comes whenever it wants to; it makes Alan think ridiculous things, or in better words, have mixed emotions.  An attack would happen by the stress, or sorrowful for the dead thought, or even just sitting at home. Poor Alan will get an attack any time in the day.  One emotion will be thinking no one is with his poor soul, and make him think no one will help him at all.  Another would be thinking someone is going to hurt or kill him. The thorns enjoy that it seems, Alan would kick and punch at the person around him, and that is just after when he feels alone.  Alan tries to keep it quiet when he has an attack, he thinks he’ll only cause unneeded stress on a person that will help him. Sometimes it hurts him way too much to not beg and plead for help.  ~ xx ~ Eric Slingby, Alan’s guardian was going to Alan’s office, he went to go check on him since he didn’t hear from him at all. “Alan?” Eric said knocking on Alan’s office door. No answer. “Hey Alan? Are you okay?” still no answer.  Eric opened the door, he heard the sound of Alan suffering. He looked all about the office. Then he spotted in the corner, Alan clutching his chest, begging for help quietly. “Someone… h-help me…” is all the poor kid could say. Eric ran over to Alan and held his shoulders, “Alan?” all he saw was Alan’s eyes closed and him mumbling short sentences of helplessness.  “Alan?!” Eric looked at Alan, he looked so helpless when he slightly opened his eyes for a moment. Alan was about to say something, but heard a voice in his mind, “Are you tired of living?” the voice asked.  Alan quickly covered his ears in panic. “LEAVE ME ALONE!” He shouted.  “What is wrong Alan?!” Eric asked quickly as Alan fell lower to the floor covering his ears.  “Come with me Mr. Shinigami…” the voice spoke again.  Alan was hearing this voice, a woman’s voice, as Eric grabbed Alan’s shoulders again, Alan was trying so hard to push him away and get Eric away from him, not knowing it is Eric. “Go away! Leave me alone!” Alan shouted.  “Alan it’s me! Calm the hell down!” Eric said. Alan opened his eyes slowly, “E-Eric…?” Alan had tears in his eyes. “I’m so sorry!”  “Don’t be, you couldn’t control yourself.” Eric said. Alan nodded, but then felt another attack, he fell closer to the floor. His eyes closed quickly, he tightened them closed.  Eric picked Alan up, he carried Alan to a couch and he sat on the couch allowing Alan to lay his head on his lap. He petted Alan’s hair lovingly; as Alan’s attack stopped.  The voice came back to Alan’s mind causing him to get a head ache. Alan still didn’t open his eyes, he just laid his hand flat on his head. Eric rubbed Alan’s forehead with his thumb. When Alan reached to lay his hand on his head, he felt someone’s thumb rubbing it. Alan opened his eyes, he spotted Eric, the person he really wanted to see this whole time, ever since the second time he closed his eyes,  “E…Eric?” “Yes Alan?”  “I’m sorry.” “Sorry for what?”  “Sorry that you have to see me like this, you shouldn’t be the one who does. You shouldn’t be here.” Alan had tears in his eyes again. “No, don’t you be crying no more.” Eric said whipping Alan’s eyes. “You don’t need to apologize, I am happy I’m here, I wouldn’t have helped you if I wasn’t.” Alan tried to show a smile, but he had another attack then. Alan clutched his chest, coughing, he finally got to say, “It…hurts…Eric…”  Eric felt horrible for him, “I know it does Alan, everything will be okay.” Alan took a deep breath. “O-okay. Hopefully.” Alan let go of his chest. “I keep on hearing a voice, a woman’s voice, she keeps on saying, ‘are you tired of living?’ and also, ‘come with me.’”  “Don’t listen to her! She is trying to kill you.” Eric said suddenly. “She is?”  “She got you in a trance and was leading you to your death!”  “Oh, she did?”  “Yes, her and this other woman, a spirit.” Alan looked confused, then looked upset mixed with terrified. “Don’t ever leave me alone!” Alan shouted grabbing onto Eric. “Why would I leave you? Not forever, never, I will stay by your side, until the end.” Eric told Alan. Alan just kept a hold of Eric. “You should get some rest.”  “Alright.” Alan stood, he almost fell down.  “Hang on there, where do you think your going?” Eric caught Alan. “…bed? Why?” Alan was confused why Eric asked that. Eric put his arm down by Alan’s legs to pick him up and carry him. “Then allow me to escort you there, your majesty.” Eric said laughing as he picked Alan up bridal style. Alan laughed a bit, “Alright.”  Eric carried Alan. But Alan managed to fall asleep a few minutes after Eric picked him up. “Those attacks must have exhausted you my poor dear.” Eric whispered. He kissed Alan’s forehead.  ~ xx ~ Eric carried Alan home and laid him slowly and softly on his bed. He sat on Alan’s bed looking down at him peacefully sleeping. He spotted Alan’s hair in his face, he moved his hair slowly, and smiled when he saw Alan’s naturally pale face.  Eric removed Alan’s glasses carefully not to wake him, he then placed them on Alan’s night stand.  Eric went closer to Alan’s ear and whispered, “I will never leave your side, you will never feel as alone again.” Eric got up off the bed and went to his room just across the way.  Eric collapsed on his bed, he looked up at the ceiling, thinking, “Hopefully Alan will be alright for a while, no attack.” Eric then turned and closed his eyes, “I will do whatever it takes to save you Alan. No matter what the consequence is. I love you Alan.” Was the last words that past his mind for the day, and he fell asleep. ~ xx ~ Chapter 2! Alan woke from pain in his head, from the whispering of the same woman’s voice all the time. This time she asked, “Are you tired of suffering?” Alan nodded, then said, “I still want to stay here, alive with Eric, don’t kill me off yet!” The woman’s voice whispered, “Yet?” Alan nodded, “Some other time, I guess.”  The woman disappeared out of his mind, with anger, so when she did Alan felt an attack and fell on the floor next to his bed, he reached up for to grab onto his sheets, he said helplessly, “Eric…” but Eric didn’t hear him.  “ERIC!” Alan shouted then had another attack, Eric woke, and heard the call, “Alan?” Eric jumped out of his bed and ran to the room ahead. “Alan!” He reached for Alan, and placed him on his bed. “The… woman’s… voice…” Alan had a hard time breathing. “Shhh Alan. Don’t speak, tell me later.” Eric said. Alan only nodded. The attack he was going through at that moment slowed down a bit. “Rest, you need it.” Eric sat on the chair next to Alan’s bed. Alan nodded again. He turned and closed his eyes. Eric rubbed Alan’s back lightly. ‘I hate to see him suffer like this, I need to go, but I don’t want to leave him. But the only way to save his poor soul, is leave, and continue collecting these souls.’ Eric thought to himself, and then he just waited till he knew Alan was asleep. He looked at the tired brunette, and spotted that he was asleep. ‘Here’s my chance.’ Eric thought to himself going out of Alan’s room. He picked up his scythe next to Alan’s leaning against the wall next to the door.  When Eric left, Alan woke. Alan spotted Eric was no where to be found, “Eric?” Alan got out from under his covers and got off his bed. He walked downstairs, “Eric?!” Alan was getting upset. Eric told him he would never leave him, and Alan took it as a lie at this point.  Alan looked out the window; Eric wasn’t out where he could see him. “I’ll just wait on the couch for him.” Alan whispered to himself as he walked over to the couch.  Eric came back, he placed his scythe down and spotted Alan on the couch, Eric bit his lip.  Alan came over from the couch, “Tell me, why did you leave me after an attack? Especially when you told me you wouldn’t?” Alan raised one of his eyebrows.  Eric paused.  Alan lowered his eyebrow; he huffed, and said “I thought you told me that you wouldn’t. Where were you?”  Eric didn’t answer, he just walked off a bit. Then he answered, “I was just out doing a quick errand.”  “What type of ‘quick errand’ are you talking about?” Alan got a little curious.  Eric blew his hair out of his face, “Let’s just say, it was only a quick boring errand, nothing special.” “You’re lying to me aren’t you?” Alan walked closer, “I can tell when you’re lying and when you’re not.”  Eric was stunned, he just paused and said, “Let’s just leave it at what I said.” He said to Alan to not answer him. “You are lying to me! Be honest, what were you doing, this late hmm?” Alan walked a bit closer, he didn’t look pleased, “I expect more from you than a little white lie.”  Eric ignored Alan; he took off his jacket and placed it across his shoulder. Alan shook his head, “Don’t ignore me Eric, all I ask is what were you doing? It can’t be that hard to answer.”  Eric looked at Alan slightly, then turned away. Eric walked closer to the door of the house to leave. “Where are you going now?” Alan looked at Eric, getting a bit mad. Eric ignored him again, he grabbed his scythe and left.  “ERIC!” Alan followed Eric. Chapter 3! Alan ran as Eric continued to walk away from him. Alan stopped suddenly, and knelt down coughing. He squints his eyes in pain. “Eric!” Alan shouted, but it just caused him to cough more. He fell closer to the ground clutching his chest.  Eric heard him, but didn’t go to help him. He just looked back, “I’m sorry Alan.” He whispered, then he turned and walked off more, it hurt him to do that. He hates that he is ignoring Alan. William spotted Alan on the ground having an attack, he ran over and helped the poor kid up. Alan felt alone again. “Alan?” William looked at Alan. Alan opened his eyes, and spotted William, “Mr. Spears?” “Here, let me help you.”  William helped Alan up. Alan was crying, “Eric left me there to suffer, what is the matter with him?!” William shrugged. “Glad I was here.” “I appreciate it, but I’m so used to Eric helping me. So it felt strange that you were here for me and he wasn’t.” “At least I was.” William walked off; he felt a tug on his sleeve. “Yes?” he turned to see Alan.  “Don’t go.”  “Why not?”  Alan amazingly pecked William’s lips quickly. William was surprised, but he closed his eyes, and, kissed Alan back. Punishment for Eric, Alan is cheating on him. Eric spotted that, he glared at William and Alan, but behind a tree he went so they won’t see him, also so he doesn’t have to see Alan kissing William anymore. “I do deserve it…” Eric whispered, he let out a hurt sigh, and walked off. William and Alan pulled away, William blushed, Alan blushed also, but smiled. Alan sighed, and went to walk off, William was going to grab him, but let him leave. William sighed, and finally smiled…  Eric spotted that, and got a bit jealous. He walked off out of jealousy.  Alan touched his lips, “I can’t believe I did that…” Alan whispered. “…I just kissed Mr. Spears, oh god… I hope Eric didn’t see that.” Alan gulped with worry.  Eric went over to William, “I see Alan and you kissed…”  William ignored him, “Well you shouldn’t have left him there to suffer, that kiss would’ve been yours.” William smirked. “You better wipe that smirk off your face!” Eric didn’t care William is his boss, he gripped William’s collar.  William kept the smirk on his face. “Jealous much?”  Eric paused he let go of William’s collar harshly.  “Oh well, as I said, that kiss could’ve been yours if you were there for him.” William sat at his desk.  “DAMMIT!” Eric stomped out of the room.  “Just as I thought.” William whispered.  Eric came back with a glare on his face and punched William. Then he left, “You thought I wasn’t going to come back and do that didn’t you.”  William held his cheek where Eric punched it. ‘I should fire him now, but no. I don’t care about it really.” William thought to himself. Alan sat on the couch, he worried that Eric knew, and if Eric knew, what would he do? “Eric must be mad if he saw…” Alan whispered, then Eric came in the house. Alan looked at him, “E…Eric, everything, al…right?”  “Never been better!” Eric said angrily. “You…you saw what happened earlier, d-didn’t you…?”  “Yes I did!”  Alan paused, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know—” “Oh, you ‘didn’t know’ bullshit you knew completely!”  Alan had tears about to fall down out of his eyes. He didn’t say anything, he just looked down.  Eric saw Alan was upset, ‘what the hell am I doing? Why the hell did he do that? Dammit!’ Eric thought.  “E…Eric, the truth is, Mr. Spears, he was there for me, I only kissed him because, he was there, it was a thank you thing, nothing more. I’m sorry.”  Eric knew when Alan lies or doesn’t. Alan wasn’t lying, you know how he knew? He knew because Alan was crying so much, and those weren’t fake tears.  Eric went over to Alan, he lifted Alan’s head, “I’m sorry too.”  Alan’s tears were laying on his cheeks. Eric whipped Alan’s tears with his thumb. He leaned down to Alan, and kissed him. Alan blushed, but he kissed Eric back. When they pulled away, Alan said, “Eriku~!” Alan smiled, and Eric did too. Chapter 4! Later, Alan was out walking around looking at the scenery. He just stayed there, and then he felt an attack. He fell to the ground. “E…Eric!” he shouted. Eric heard Alan’s voice, it sounded weak and helpless. Eric ran to Alan. “Alan!” He held Alan up, and Alan grabbed his arm. Eric was stroking Alan’s soft brunette hair and said, “It’s almost over Alan, you’ll be fine.”  Alan clutched his chest coughing and falling out of Eric’s arms. Eric held Alan up again.  Alan felt a bit better and breathed.  Eric looked down at Alan, then when he looked up, a woman hovered over Alan, he passed out, and Eric held him close, glaring at the woman.  She only smirked and laughed as she faded away.  Eric picked Alan up.  Eric brought Alan to the couch and lied him there lightly. ‘1000 souls to save 1.’ Eric thought to himself rubbing Alan’s forehead with his thumb again.  Alan woke a while later and spotted Eric sitting near him, looking quite tired. “Aren’t you tired Eric?” Alan asked right when he saw him.  “Yeah, quite.” Eric sighed as he laid back in the chair he was sitting on. “You doing well now Al?”  “Yes I am.”  “Good.”  Alan smiled, as he sat up on the couch. ‘I should get some stuff done around the house.’ Alan thought to himself, as he let out a tiny yawn.  Alan got up off the couch. Eric looked at him and asked, “You sure you’ll be able to walk after that attack?”  “Yes, I can manage.” Alan walked over to clean the table off, and finish the other chores around the house.  “Let me know if you need any help Al.” Eric said, Alan nodded.  Alan went up the stairs and walked in each room. “I think I have a bit to clean in each of these rooms.” Alan whispered to himself. Alan picked up the laundry and placed it all in the hamper.  Even though it wasn’t much, he just wants to make sure everything stays clean. “There.” Alan whispered. He went downstairs to the sight of Eric sleeping on the couch. “Knew he was tired.” Alan whispered again. Alan smiled and placed a near by blanket on his friend.  Alan sighed and went over to make some dinner. “3:30, a bit early, but better get it cooked for later.” Alan whispered while getting the ingredients to make a meal.  Alan put the ingredients in the places they have to be, and put the extra ones back in there appropriate places.  “There. Just need to let it cook for a bit.” Alan went in the bathrooms to see if there is anything to clean at all.  Alan saw nothing at the moment to clean, so he went in his bedroom and collapsed on his bed to rest a bit.  Then the meal was ready, and he went down the stairs to serve it. Eric wasn’t awake yet, so he just put Eric’s in the fridge for later. Then he ate his meal, and went back to his room to see a lightning and thunder storm happen from the window.  Alan looked out the window and smiled, “Just like it was when I was little during what my mom called it ‘story time.’ I miss her stories.” he thought as he closed his eyes, and remembered those times meaning ‘story time.’ Chapter 5! Eric awoke, and then when he was walking up stairs he heard Alan say that. He smiled a tiny bit. “When will the thorns end though?” Alan asked himself. “Well, no cure, it won’t end, but it will when I die. Stated in the Shinigami handbook is how the Thorns of Death victim will die will be by the most painful heart attack.” Alan whispered.  But Eric heard what Alan whispered, then he thought to himself, so Alan wouldn’t hear him. “1000 souls Alan, you could be saved.” Then Eric immediately picked his scythe up in front of the door, and left.  Alan went out of his room, and down the stairs, “Eric just got up and left? In this weather?” he whispered, “I better go find him before the lightning gets him first.” Alan also whispered, “Like that’s ever going to happen.” Alan walked out the door with an umbrella open over his head, and a black heavy jacket.  Alan looked for Eric close by, “He couldn’t have gone too far. Or was he up for a while? Eric?!” Alan started to shiver like crazy. He fell ill to the ground. Eric didn’t hear Alan, nor see him. He got up to 50 souls. He searched for more, and when he saw a pure soul not around anyone, he took those souls. “53, enough for today, Alan must be worried about me in this weather. That is how he is.” Eric whispered as he walked back home.  Eric spotted a figure on the ground and saw they weren’t doing too good, then he narrowed his eyes and saw that that figure was Alan! Eric ran over to Alan’s side, and placed his arm on Alan’s shoulders. He felt Alan was shivering viciously. “Alan?!”  “Er…ric…” Alan could hardly speak without the sound of his teeth chattering from the cold air blowing on him.  Eric put the umbrella open over Alan’s head for him. “We need to get you home.” Alan only nodded.  Eric helped Alan up and brought Alan home to lie on his warm bed in his warm bedroom. “You’ll be fine now Al, just don’t go outside in this weather again, you promise me?” Eric said looking at Alan on his bed. Alan then said still shivering, “Why…would…you… leave me…? I was worried about you out in this weather yourself. Why were you?” Alan looked at Eric. “Oh, um, no, good reason.” Eric answered. Alan sat up on the bed, and tilted his head in disappointment, with a frown. “You’re lying to me aren’t you?” Eric looked at Alan, he didn’t answer. Alan was not pleased with Eric. “Why? Why would you lie to me? Be honest, what were you doing out there in this weather?” Eric didn’t look at Alan, and still didn’t answer.  “Eric! Don’t ignore me again!” Alan snapped.  Eric just walked out of the room.  “ERIC!” Alan shouted getting quickly out of the bed and out of his room to Eric. When he got out of his room, Eric was already half way outside again since the storm cleared up. Alan came down the stairs, he was not pleased. “Eric!” He shouted again.  Eric slightly looked back at Alan, and then grabbed his scythe again, about to go. Alan grabbed onto Eric’s jacket. “Explain to me. First off, why are you ignoring me, and secondly, about being out in that weather?”  Eric pushed Alan, causing Alan to immediately let go of his jacket and fall to the floor, and Eric walked outside.  Alan was shocked, and he got up, and followed Eric, “He is ignoring me again? Why? What is going on that he wont tell me?!” Alan whispered. Chapter 6! Alan was searching for Eric, and thought, “Why should I care? He wont tell me anything, and then he never listens to me anyway.” Alan stopped searching for Eric, and went to the dispatch. When he got there he spotted all the Shinigami there, and not Eric. So he took a look at the death list, when he did, he spotted it was rising, with Eric being the only one not there. “Is Eric—No, can’t be, he would never…” Then Alan realized, he shut the death list quickly and left to search for Eric again.  Eric got up to 60 souls, he whipped the sweat off from his forehead. “Jesus Christ, why so many souls in so little time?” Eric went off to kill more souls. Back to Alan, he started to run to find Eric, but he paused as he felt a sharp pain in his chest feeling like he has just been stabbed by a sharp blade. He collapsed to the ground. Ronald, the rookie, spotted Alan. He ran over to Alan’s side. “Alan-Sempai?” Ronald said helping Alan up.  “I’m fine.” Alan said almost out of breath.  “You don’t sound fine, here let me help you.” Ronald helped Alan up and helped him to somewhere to sit.  “Thank you Ronald. Have you seen Eric around?”  “Eric-Sempai? No.” Ronald said sitting next to Alan on the bench he sat him on. Alan nodded meaning ‘okay.’  Ronald looked at Alan, “Why were you running out of the dispatch?”  “I’m trying to find Eric. There is something I need to talk to him about.”  “Okay.” Ronald leaned back on the bench. Alan breathed, then got up.  “You sure you could start walking again after that pain you went through?” Ronald asked as he tilted his head. “Yes I’m sure.” Alan walked off to continue looking for Eric.  “Alright…” Ronald mumbled, and he got up off the bench and went back in the dispatch. A while later, Alan couldn’t find Eric still. He was searching for him for ages. Alan finally found Eric, but at the wrong moment… Eric killed two young women, right in front of Alan, but he was a bit too far for Alan to see completely. Eric looked in Alan’s direction. He spotted Alan was right there. Witness of him killing two young women. One of the four only people he really didn’t want to see him do so.  Alan was shocked, “Eric is the one killing these souls…” Alan then started getting really mad at Eric. He went in Eric’s direction angrily. “What the hell did you kill them for?! Innocent pure souls!” Alan snapped at Eric. Eric didn’t answer.  “Will you stop ignoring me dammit?!” Alan shouted. Eric turned quickly and walked quickly away.  “ANSWER ME!”  “You will understand when I’m done!” Eric shouted back.  “No! I will not leave until you honestly answer me!” Alan yelled gripping his scythe, then going towards Eric blade first. Eric jumped away from the blade to doge.  Alan twirled his scythe and continued attacking Eric.  Eric dodged, and then attacked back.  Alan blocked with his scythe.  Eric threw Alan’s scythe up, and Alan caught it.  Eric and Alan continued to fight. Alan stopped suddenly, and then coughed, and gripped his chest falling to the ground as Eric had punched him.  Alan gripped his chest more, and fell more to the ground coughing.  “Weak.” Eric said and paused for a bit while Alan was in more pain from the attack. “Thorns of Death huh?” Eric turned away from Alan, and left him lying there on the ground, while Alan was still clutching his chest. Alan looked up and tried to get up, “Er…ric—!” Alan felt more pain, feeling more alone than ever.  Ronald, and William were walking thinking of what’s going on. When they saw Alan on the ground.  “William-Sempai, look.” Ronald pointed in Alan’s direction as William looked up and saw Alan on the ground in so much pain. William quickly ran over to Alan, quickly followed by Ronald. Grell happened to be there and let out a fake yawn. “Eric and him were fighting, it was so lame.” Grell said on his way out from behind a tree, then he said looking down at Alan, “Alan, try and act brave why don’t you?”  William and Ronald rolled their eyes at Grell as they helped Alan up.  Alan shivered, and mumbled, “E-Eric is the one collecting these souls.”  “What Alan?” William said, looking at him.  “N-Never mind.”  Grell clapped his hands and said with a smirk, “What Alan just mumbled was—”  Grell was cut off by Alan saying “Shut up.”  “Huh, so rude.” Grell said.  “Don’t you dare say what you were going to!” Alan said glaring at Grell, and then started coughing again. Grell crossed his arms and did a pouty face. “What were you going to say Grell-Sempai?” Ronald asked with a curious look.  “What was it you were going to say?” William said glaring at Grell.  “I would tell you, but I can’t, sorry.” Grell said with a smirk.  Grell then went closer to William’s ear and whispered, “Eric is the one collecting the souls.” Grell then skipped off with a smirk on his face. Alan knew what he whispered, and sighed. “I’m sorry Eric…” Alan whispered.  William’s face got an angrier look on it than ever. “Come Knox. Humphries, you too.” William said as he walked off. Alan and Ronald nodded and quickly followed William. Chapter 7! Eric was collecting up to 70 souls by now, it was two in the morning, and he was on his way to collect more. “I can finally collect these souls to save Alan, ever since I…” Eric stopped with that thought for a moment, he regretted punching Alan back there, and right after he pushed him. Eric sighed. “…I’m doing it for your own good Alan.” He thought. Eric placed his scythe on his shoulder and left to collect more. Back at the dispatch, Alan was upset, all he could remember about Eric right here, was how Eric pushed, and punched him. “Why would you be doing those things Eric?” Alan whispered. ‘More importantly, why are you collecting these innocent peoples pure souls?’ Alan thought to himself. “You should leave him be for a while, he is stressing out Alan-Sempai.” Ronald said.  “I know. You’re right, I should, but the thing is…” Alan sighed.  “You love him, and you’re worried about him?” Ronald said to finish Alan’s sentence. “Yeah.” Alan whispered. Then a hooded figure appeared, Alan stopped walking, and went towards that figure, like in some kind of trance. Ronald spotted he was, and he grabbed his jacket. “Where are you going, the dispatch is this way, remember?” Alan didn’t answer. “Hey, what the hell is wrong with you?” Ronald turned Alan around.  William stopped, “What’s going on?” William’s annoyed voice asked.  “Alan-Sempai is going the wrong way, and he is pulling away from my grip, there is a hooded figure he is going towards, and I don’t know why or who the hell it is.” Ronald said, trying to keep Alan on the right path. “Also he isn’t answering me. And isn’t responding to anything.”  William helped Ronald to keep Alan on the right path. “Humphries!” William said, shaking him.  Alan still didn’t respond.  “Damn, this is strange.” Ronald said.  “Just shut up okay? You are seriously annoying me more than I already am.” William said. “I only said a bit!” Ronald said.  “I know, but just go to the dispatch, we’ll meet you there once Alan is out of this trance.” William said. “Trance?” Ronald questioned.  “Just go dammit!” William snapped. “Okay, okay. Jeez.” Ronald said walking off. “Alan? What the hell is going on?” William shook Alan a bit more. Alan looked at William with his eyes looking like he has no soul.  “Alright, I’m going to have to help you back.” William said, as he held Alan’s hand to do so. Alan quickly pulled away. “Get away from me!” He shouted.  “What the hell?” William looked at Alan.  Alan was backing up against a tree he went. William took another step closer to Alan.  Alan shook his head and knelt to the ground like he is terrified.  “What the hell is wrong with you?!” William grabbed Alan’s arm gently.  Alan tried to push William away. The thorns are causing him to feel like and think that he is going to get murdered. William just knelt next to Alan, “Its okay, I’m not going to hurt you Alan.”  Alan looked at William, then looked away quickly getting closer to the tree.  William sighed. “Come on, its me Alan.”  Alan looked at William with terrified eyes. Then he calmed down a bit. He breathed and looked at William like everything is fine. “Mr. Spears?”  William nodded. “Why were you acting like I was going to murder you?”  “The thorns cause me to I guess.” Alan explained. William then said, “I see.” He stood from kneeling.  Alan got up slowly. “We should get back before anything else happe—” Alan was cut off by feeling like he is going to pass out. And he closed his eyes and almost fell. William caught Alan. He then sighed. “Poor Alan.” He whispered as he put one of his hands on Alan’s back, letting Alan lay on his chest until William put his other hand down to Alan’s legs to pick him up. Then William carried Alan the rest of the way to the dispatch.  Since Alan was like he was asleep, he pictured Eric carrying him while William was. ‘Thinking of you Eric…’ Alan thought in his head like he is having a dream. William got in the dispatch and laid Alan on his couch in his office. He then placed a blanket over him. Alan thought of Eric in his dream, by whatever William did in reality, Eric did the same, like carry Alan to a bed or couch, and placing a blanket over him carefully. Those were exactly things Eric did to Alan all the time after an attack.  Eric continued collecting the souls to save Alan, he got to 87, and he felt exhausted. He leaned against a tree. “I wonder if Alan is doing alright, I would go check on him, but…” Eric sighed. “…He may not want to see me after I pushed him, and then punched him during his attack.” Eric whispered, he once again sighed, but this time, was a regretful sigh mixed with worried.
Chapter 8!
Alan woke up and saw William was there with him, and not Eric. “Mr. Spears?”
William looked at Alan, “Yes?”
“Never mind.” Alan looked at the cover over him, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, you were shivering a whole lot.” William said.
Alan nodded.
“Eh, Alan-Sempai. You doing alright?” Ronald said coming in William’s office and spotting Alan on the couch in there.
“Yes I’m fine.”
“That’s good, you were acting a little strange out there.”
“I was? How?”
“You were in some kind of trance, I don’t know.” Ronald said putting his hands in his pockets.
“Oh, I was?” Alan sat up on the couch.
“Yes. But good thing you aren’t anymore.”  “I guess so.”
“You guess so? It is.”
“I know, I know.”
Ronald then said, “Oh, um, William-Sempai?”
“What?” William looked at Ronald.
“The death list. What did Grell-Sempai whisper to you?” Ronald handed the death list to William.
“The person doing this, is Slingby, Grell whispered to me.”
“Oh, Eric-Sempai is…” Ronald paused. “…Do we have a reason why he is, or is it just for fun?”
“Just for fun I’m sure, there is no perfect reason to collect so many souls not supposed to be.”
“Oh…” Ronald leaned on the wall.
Alan looked down at the floor, and got off the couch looking up. Then he left William’s office. “Gotta find Eric.” Alan whispered.
“Hey where are you going Alan-Sempai?” Ronald asked towards Alan, following him out. Then stopped because William said, “No need to follow Alan, leave him be Knox.”
“Okay I guess.” Ronald went back in the office.
Alan started to walk faster, while looking for Eric. “Eric!” he shouted to see if he will hear him. Alan noticed Eric couldn’t hear him, so he wasn’t in a good place to find him. Alan just walked ahead and continued to look for Eric.
Alan finally found Eric. “Eric!” He shouted again. Eric only slightly looked back, then quickly turned his head away.
Alan was going over to Eric, he quickly hugged Eric from behind. “Eric please don’t ignore me anymore!”
Eric looked at Alan hugging him, and he was going to pull Alan off, but thought, ‘that is enough of me doing that.’ Eric turned as Alan let go. Eric looked down at Alan’s red face showing he was crying. Eric sighed. “I’m sorry Alan.”
Alan did a tiny smile and grabbed onto Eric again in a tough, but not too tough of a hug. “I’m sorry too!” Alan was still crying, but this time, he was happy crying because Eric isn’t ignoring him anymore, he actually gets to talk to him.
“Don’t ignore me again, please.” Alan said still gripping a hug on Eric.
“I hope I wont anymore, I can’t stand seeing you so upset.” Eric petted Alan’s hair lovingly. “You promise?” Alan looked up at Eric.
Eric answered “Yes.” Then thought, ‘He is so much like a kid.’ That thought made Eric laugh a bit.
“What?” Alan saw Eric laughing.
“Oh, nothing Alan.” Eric covered his mouth still laughing.
Alan let go of Eric, and said “You sure? Tell me.” Alan started getting a little curious.
“No, its just, your so much like a child, so don’t ask me to stop treating you like one, ‘cause you honestly are like one.” Eric laughed a bit more still covering his mouth.
Alan blushed out of embarrassment. “I’m not like a child!” he said in an embarrassed tone.
Eric stopped laughing, “You’re acting like one right now.”
Alan paused. “Fine… I guess I can sometimes be like a child.”
Eric smiled. “It’s fine that you do.”
Alan smiled too. “I guess so.”

“You…you saw what happened earlier, d-didn’t you…?”  “Yes I did!”  Alan paused, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know--” “Oh, you ‘didn’t know’ bullshit you knew completely!”  Alan had tears about to fall down out of his eyes. Alan looked out the window and smiled, “Just like it was when I was little during what my mom called it ‘story time.’ I miss her stories.” he thought as he closed his eyes, and remembered those times meaning 'story time.' Chapter 5! Alan looked up and tried to get up, “Er…ric--!” Alan felt more pain, feeling more alone than ever. “N-Never mind.”  Grell clapped his hands and said with a smirk, “What Alan just mumbled was--”  Grell was cut off by Alan saying “Shut up.”  “Huh, so rude.” Grell said. “We should get back before anything else happe--” Alan was cut off by feeling like he is going to pass out.
