Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

There are two very specific characters in Re:Zero who are known for having silver hair.
You being connected to either of them would have very serious implications.
I have no idea what those implications are, but they would defiantly be there.
What's with your face? What does that mean? What are you hiding????

So presumably Al is talking about Reinhard, right? At this point in the timeline, he would presumably be a child, and in Lugunica.
But that begs the question HOW DOES AL KNOW ABOUT REINHARD???
Earlier in the story it said that Al was on the island for 10 years, so how would he even know that Reinhard exists?
What do you know???
So interesting reveal here - It seems like Al doesn't have anything like the Taboo where he can't tell people about his ability to rewind time upon his death.
Nobody seems to believe him, but still.
Interesting.
This moment is just very cool to me.
The visual of Al just standing there, not even willing to approach the Hornet to give her a quick death because of the slight chance of him having to do this all over again, is very compelling for me.
WHO DID YOU KNOW WHO HAD SILVER HAIR??? HOW WERE THEY IMPORTANT TO YOU??? WHAT HAPPENED?? I NEED ANSWERS GODDAMMIT!!!!
This is another interesting thing, because at some point Al does decide to leave the island, so something in the future causes what his goals are to change.
But I guess I'm not going to find out what that is either.
So two things:
Firstly - Yep, I'm sure Ubrik's dead. The fact that there is an arc 8 interlude named "Ubilk", which looks like a differently translated version on Ubrik's name is probably a total coincidence. I'm sure he will never be relevant to the greater story of Re:Zero again.
Secondly - YOU HAD A TEACHER??? WHO WAS IT?? WHAT DID THEY TEACH YOU???? I WANT YOUR SECRETS AL!!!!!!
Well, that was Ex5.
I was hoping get some answers rearing Al's whole deal, and instead I just got many more questions. Still a fun read though.
More importantly, with the Ex novels finished, it means I can start reading Arc 7.

hi i made a tier list of how homophobic rezero characters are
hello in the spirit of valentine's day and the very welcoming community here on rezero tumblr i decided to make this with the help of my lovely mutuals.

I'm an anime only but i'm curious how is ferris relationship with gender?
im going to answer kinda quickly (and w/o spoilers) bc im abt to have dinner but the basic gist of it is:
crusch and ferris swapped gender presentations as part of a pact, something that goes back to their respective backstories. (might be harder to tell that crusch is intended to lean more masc, but its in like that knightly bishounen kinda way so it can come off more androgynous than anything). ferris takes the deal a lot more seriously than crusch does (partly bc of devotion, partly because of love) and even still "plays the part" when the pact no longer requires it after crusch got her memories eaten (and was acting more girlish). ferris wakes up every morning repeating the mantra of being a "cute girl" as an affirmation- saying that "this has been the mantra for a long time" believing whole-heatedly that there's magic in this sort of believing, and thats why they just somehow havent developed secondary sex characteristics (and they thank their ancestors for the lack of beard hair- i think it must be somekinda undiscovered divine protection of hrt). though they have a bit of a complex about the idea of this girlhood being "borrowed" because of the swap, and sort of have a higher sense of pressure to confirm as strictly to femininity because of this- because its for crusch. but dont necessarily mistake this for ferris disliking the pact itself, the pressure is something more internal. crusch never held herself to the same degree of devotion to it, wearing casual dresses while inside the house and such, while ferris has committed every fiber of their being to it. this has been the mantra for a long time. and there are genuine insecurities to be found within this- at a certain point a villain representing lust accuses ferris of dressing this way to "lead on" men, something that we as the audience know isnt true (ferris still loves crusch), but never the less messes with their head and in a way i think its meant to be a commentary on the general preconceptions audiences have when it comes to characters like ferris- rezero is a deconstruction series after all so stuff like that is to be expected.
all that being said do i think ferris is the most well done amazing rep in the whole universe? not really. i mean im not transfem so im not the authority on this topic, but im echoing stuff ive generally seen discussed- i think ferris is kind of an example of a character that suffers a bit from the creator not reeeaaallly knowing how trans people work or not realizing hes effectively written a trans person because of this. i defaulted to they/them to ferris here because it is kinda complicated and can be taken a few different ways. how much of it is for crusch vs how much is for ferris? how much of an identity does ferris have outside of crusch? outside of being crusch's "girl side" etc. this theme is something we see with ALL the knights! they all have a blinding and often self-destructive devotion to their liege. and a lot of these are heavily reliant on gender roles in a lot of ways (subaru projects his masc powerfantasy onto emilia, julius has to constantly be the Perfect Knight for anastasia, reinhard can only ever be a Hero and stakes his family's redemption on felt becoming king, al lets priscilla just behead him 100 times bc hes a freak.) in the case of crusch and ferris the entire concept is that these roles have been somewhat swapped, but the devotion stayed the same so. theres a lot there. a lot thats a lot more complicated than just like.... "boy dresses like a girl bc its my fetish" eugh
#and btw none of this is to also say that you cant just be a guy who wears dresses bc you like it either#ive heard ppl argue that and its like. theres more there in this case#look on paper i would very much like to be masc but in reality i dont have the body type and i like to dress feminine so ill also never loo#like the part. and i think ive made peace with that for now. for now. but what im saying is its not the dress or appearance itself ever#i think there are plenty of anime boys that wear dresses and are in fact still boys. such as yuki a3 or kuranosuke princess jellyfish#love those guys#i also think there are often characters that have more nuance often bc of meta reasons and ferris is one of them. imo

So from the end of November to this early October I pulled in SSR Al step up gacha in FMA Mobile, Dream Festival for xmas Yukina, Ako, and Lisa in EN server Bandori, Rate-up Subaru & Beatrice pair card in Rezero Lost in Memories, and of course Colorful Festival for Limited Tsukasa in EN server Proseka--with various results orz
Thank God there's a step-up gacha for SSR Al or I'd be screwed lol. Even then, I only got one at the end of the gacha because it's guaranteed. Man my luck is so bad lol Not only that, out of 90 pulls I only got other 3 SSR (another Mustang, Major Armstrong & Kimblee)... Not even Maj.gen. Armstrong...
And in Rezelos, it took all my 160 pulls just for the pair Subaru-Beako card to come home lol. Also I got another Emilia?? I guess I'm channeling Subaru too much www The only Emilia cards that I haven't gotten yet are her two swimsuit cards and party dress. And out of all of them, I only pulled for Emilia's snow memory card and hood?? The other Emilias just came home by themselves... why isn't everyone as obedient as Emilia... orz
Another set that I've been eyeing since last year is the Roselia xmas card. All the pre- and upgraded cards are so pretty (*´ω｀*) Unlike the kinda horrible luck in the previous two games, I'm quite lucky because it only took 100 pulls for Yukina, Ako, and Lisa to come home. Heck, I even got Yukina on my first 10. Lisa was the last one even though she's the 3* lol. Also, I got 2nd dreamfes Arisa and Moca too (plus Nanami and MASKING), nice!!! My luck is overall pretty good in the 5(?) years I play ENBandori
But I guess my luck ran out because I didn't get lim!Tsukasa even after 200 pulls. It's WMS gacha all over again even though it's a double rate up banner. Heck, I didn't even get a permanent Tsukasa. Why???? I got Ichika and Miku twice, and even Minori (lim and cheer set) but no Tsukasa....??? Thank god I have some gacha tickets saved up from Akito's banner and the groom set or I'd seriously cry lol. Well, at least when I got him I could immediately unlock his hair www. Also, I got 4* WxS!Miku and WxS!Kaito lol.
So my damage is: 90 pulls for Al + 160 pulls for Subaru&Beako + 100 pulls for Yukina, Ako, and Lisa + 200 pulls for Tsukasa = 550 pulls in more or less a week orz
Welp, time to save again

maybe i do like the priscilla camp because theyre all their own levels of cringe fail. you have miss priscilla “the world revolves around me” barielle who starts family drama in arc 5 just for shits and giggles (i dont know much about her but from what little i do know i am terrified to touch her lore with a 18272828282 foot pole). you have heinkel (heinkel). you have al. a literal dark souls character who kabedons natsumi and keeps talking about priscillas boobs (he has experienced horrors). then you have schult. and other than being an obvious reinhard expy for heinkel, schults relationship with priscilla is redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted redacted REDACTED REDACTED REDAC—
