big ol dump of stuff for the Nutcracker Au i’m working on with @bladefoxfairy !!!!!
I’ve been drawing stuff for it but I did a lot tonight and wanted to do them as a set :’3c
introducing Harriet to the nutcracker
me being indulgent for some fluffy angst
the first drawing I actually did for the au :’3c dancing is hard to draw
it’s time for sleep and it’s easier to sleep at night and not run around
nightmare scenario where Eclipse is turned into a doll as well
Blade said he has magic healing tears so that means you need something to heal and when your heart is dull and dead that means you need ANGST
Probs one of my fav things I did on stream; just eclipse sadly kissing the small nutcracker and apologizing she can’t break his curse because she’s just a beast pretending to be human :’3c (i was experimenting with the shading)
this au is fun leave me aloneeeeee

A Hat in Time :: The Nutcracker AU :: The Thrilling Conclusion
The Second “Climax”, Falling Action, and Conclusion!
AND JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!
Read to the end for a special surprise :3c
2nd Climax
Clara:
When they get to the land of sweets, Clara goes absolutely nuts, trying to grab at all of the candy, and the The Nutcracker finally has enough of her running around and picks her up, carrying her under his arm and rolling his eyes at her whining. When they get to the castle of Sweets, he puts her down and the doors open to them, greeted by the mysterious Sugar Plum Fairy. The fairy invites them into a banquet hall decked out in bright colors and food everywhere. They were led to seats and the fairy said that they would talk in depth later. That now, it was time for celebration!
Clara basically gorges herself on food while the Nutcracker tries to stop her from giving herself a stomach ache. It doesn't work. After about an hour of feasting she’s leaning over the table groaning like the silly child with a tummy ache that she was. She crawls on him and the Nutcracker begrudgingly lets her stay as the Sugar Plum Fairy announced the celebratory performances. Clara spends the entire time watching the show from the Nutcrackers lap, the two of them commenting and making jokes together. Once the celebratory show is over, the Sugar Plum Fairy calls for the two of them to join the ruler in their garden.
The fairy begins to ask the Nutcracker how his jaw feels, and he finally remembers the kerchief tied around him. They then ask who helped him, and Clara states that she did it. The fairy seems pleased with this, and the three sit down by a fountain, with Clara starting to truly look tired. The fairy starts to explain the Nutcracker's curse to him, revealing that the fairy knew what cursed him this whole time, and explaining that the bitterness that caused the curse can only be truly broken with a reversal spell.. And an act of selfless love. Clara states in her dozing state that breaking the curse should be easy, because loving is easy. The Nutcracker chides her, saying that love isn’t easy, but she’s too far gone and he picks her up so she’s not sleeping on a marble bench.
The Nutcracker asks what an “Act of Selfless Love” entails and the scene ends with the fairy smiling at him, then looking down at the snoozing Clara.
Francesca:
Time passes quietly between the two, and Ludwig helps her with some of the difficult words and translations. The books are long, old and opaque, and while they are looking, Francesca starts asking Ludwig about his life. He doesn’t tell the whole truth, but does start telling her about growing up with his brother, how they were always there for each other, how Lukas was always the more boisterous and bullheaded brother, but when he went.. Missing … Ludwig had to step up.
Francesca says that he’s a good brother, and that his brother should be so proud of him. Ludwig thanks her, and tells her that she’s a very good sister to Clara, and that Clara must also be proud of her. Francesca responds by telling Ludwig that they’re proud of each other, because they know that they only have one another. He asks why he thinks they won’t get adopted together, and She mentions that there’s a track record of people not wanting Francesca, but wanting Clara. Ludwig frowns, knowing what she’s implying, but assuring her that one day, the right parents will realize that those two are the perfect sister duo. Francesca smiles at that, and turns the page.
She comes across a spell that seems similar to the one they’re looking for, and shows it to him. Ludwig seems excited, and starts overzealously translating. By the time he’s done, and realizes that it should be the correct one, he turns to see that poor Francesca has finally conked out for the night. He smiled and picked the girl up, taking her back to bed, and seeing that Clara was not in bed. He’s worried at this, and goes back downstairs to the parlor.
Ludwig and Lukas:
Ludwig goes downstairs and sees that Clara (back to normal size) is asleep on the chair, with the Nutcracker sitting on the arm of the chair as if on a vigil. The Nutcracker then moves, and stands when Ludwig enters. The two converse, talking about their long nights, and Ludwig shows him the book with the spell, Lukas then explains that this spell needs an act of selfless love, and Ludwig asks if he knows what to do. He looks down at Clara, then nods.
There's a break to Clara’s half awake perspective, as she perks up at being moved, and some vague light behind her eyes. She barely opens them and sees someone is taking her upstairs, leaning into them unconsciously. Whoever they are places her in bed, and swipes her hair back, placing a small kiss on her forehead. Once under the covers, she’s out for the night.
Falling Actions
The girls wake up on Christmas morning, both wondering if what happened last night was just some bizarre dreams they had, walking downstairs and hearing two voices in the dining room. She girls peek in, seeing another man talking with Ludwig. They stay there for a moment before the new man teases them by letting them know he’s aware that they are there. Clara recognizes that voice, and rushes in to see the man’s face. Lukas grins at her, asking if they’d met before. She squints, then smirks at him, and introduces herself, and he introduces himself as well, looking back at Francesca and introducing himself to her as well, stating how his brother was telling him all about them.
The girls get into chairs for breakfast, and the group continues to talk, getting to know each other, and Ludwig ushers the children into the parlor where the tree is and they see that "Santa” got them presents! The brothers watch as the girls excitedly open them, neither noticing the absence of the nutcracker that once rested on the mantle. Lukas mutters something to Ludwig, and the brother grins and nods.
Conclusion
The girls do go back to the orphanage for some time, and in the new year the whole town is buzzing about news that the lost Princes of Subkohn have returned and, for some unknown reason, are in town! Ludwig Drosselmeyer has also mysteriously left his position with the state recently. Clara has a hunch, but Francesca thinks that she’s ridiculous.
The girls are called into the office of the head mistress of the Orphanage, and a flustered Mother Rumbi ushers them in, where two familiar faces are seated, with Miss Stahlbaum grinning from ear to ear, standing off to the side. Lukas is smiling smugly, and Ludwig looking far more excited.
Clara grins from ear to ear with a triumphant “I KNEW IT!” and Francesca blinks in disbelief.
There’s paperwork on the desk, and Ludwig starts talking about getting the girls things together so that they can get back to Subkohn post haste. Clara has promptly crawled into Lukas’ lap despite poor Mother Rumbi attempting to chastise her. Lukas thinks nothing of it, and asks if they can get the work expedited. He’s signing the paperwork for Clara, and Ludwig has Francesca’s paperwork.
Lukas teases them, stating that they’re princesses now, and Francesca just lets out a wet laugh, allowing Ludwig to envelop her in a hug.
The scene ends with the brothers giving one another a smile as they hold the girls, there’s happiness and hope in the new year.

A Hat in Time :: The Nutcracker AU :: 1st Climax and 2nd Rising Action
Wooo, after this, there’s only one more update!
Maybe I’ll get this done before the holiday, who knows :3c
Enjoy Clara’s senseless bravery, and Francesca’s ceaseless desire to help!
1st Climax:
Clara:
Clara watches as the Queen of the Cats tells the Nutcracker how excited she is to finally beat him, and how the Kingdoms of Snow and Sweets will finally be hers. The Nutcracker is knocked back, working on getting up with the Queen brandishing her claws. Just as she’s about to swipe down at him, a small slipper nails her straight in the face with enough force to knock her back, and her attention is drawn to the little girl staring at her with all the misguided bravery and conviction an 8 year old can muster.
Clara immediately regrets her decision when the Queen’s claws turn towards her, but the Queen is stopped by a sword - the Nutcracker getting in her way, and said soldier tells Clara to run - calling her by name and she does as she’s told, but sees something that might help and heads towards it.
Getting the help of one of the toy soldiers - joined by a few more, the group uses a book up on the table next to the tree to push it down and damage the Queen’s “artillery”, and the destruction distracts her, and it's just enough for the Nutcracker to take the upper hand, stabbing his sword clean through her - defeating her and causing the other cats to retreat in fear.
The soldiers and Clara cheer in victory, before Clara jumps down onto the chair she used to climb to the table, and then, while making eye contact with the nutcracker, jumps down to him. He manages to catch her, but scolds her for doing that and seems a bit high strung after everything that occurred. She asks how he knows her name and he retorts that he was aware and conscious the entire time that she was playing with him - only just now realizing that this nutcracker is in fact “The Snatcher”
Francesca:
Francesca, meanwhile, sees that Vanessa and Ludwig have been in correspondence, with Ludwig saying that he was searching for his missing brother, and also seeing his notes on curse breaking, putting things together pretty simply. Her eyes scanned over his notes about his brother’s curse - written in a weird, “if you know then i don’t need to explain it” kind of way, but she starts to put together that Vanessa definitely knows something, talking about Lukas as if she knows where he is, and that she hopes he’s not “toying around”, which Ludwig takes much umbridge with as his brother “has never been like that”, with her responding that he’d “be surprised.”
Ludwig finds her in his office, and in a slightly frazzled state asks her what she’s doing, and she doesn’t bother explaining herself, immediately telling him that Vanessa’s letters are suspicious - pointing out perhaps the most damning detail - that she knows that Lukas disappeared at night, something that no one else knows but Ludwig, because he was there to help his brother (something she read in the man’s journal). Not to mention that Lukas wasn’t pronounced missing until two days later, and, perhaps most damningly to Vanessa, she claimed that she’d left their home the night Lukas went missing, so there was absolutely no way that she could have known when he went missing unless…
Ludwig, in a sudden burst of alarm, picks up Francesca out of his chair and puts her on the desk, looking back through the documents and seeing the other red flags, as well as her accusatory language. He seems disbelieving still, but he grabs a book off the shelf that he’d gotten from his family's library, and opens it to a frayed page, written in an old, dead language, but recognizing handwriting in the margins with the translation of the spell. It was Vanessa’s. The looping of her As and the crossing of her Ts gave her away.
Ludwig sits back in his chair, disbelieving and bewildered that he hadn’t put it together before this..
Second Rising Action:
Clara:
The Nutcracker stated that he has to return to the Land of Sweets, to report to the Sugar Plum Fairy. Clara asked if she could join him, and he snapped at her that of course he’s taking her with him. She wasn’t supposed to be here, or shrunken down in the first place! Clara pouted at him and scolded him for yelling, leaving him sheepish as he led his army of toy soldiers under the chair, where there was a “portal” into the Snow Kingdom.
Clara jumped out of the Nutcracker’s arms, and ran forward into the land, fascinated and excited at the beauty and magic of it all, the Nutcracker freaking out when she slips on the ice and he catches her just in time, scolding her, but much softer this time - seemingly learning from his last scolding of her already. She still rolls her eyes though, and starts rushing ahead again. Exasperated, he chased after her right up until they got to the gates of the snow castle. She starts talking to the snow guards before he catches up and tells them to let the king know that the Queen of the Cats is dead.
They are called into the castle, where the king greets them with much joy and excitement. He thanks the nutcracker, and Clara buts in and says that she helped and the king - a man with children of his own, also congratulates her, offering the two of them sweets and to stay for a little while - stating that his children were happy and willing to perform a celebration “ceremony”. Clara excitedly says yes, and - when it looks like the nutcracker might say no, she gives him a very adorable pouty face and he caves.
The prince and princess appear, with the princess showing off her annoyed attitude and the prince looking super excited to perform. Clara banters with them a bit before taking a seat next to the Nutcracker and they watch the prince and princess put on a spectacular ice magic show - think the ballet but with Elsa’s ice powers. The Nutcracker takes some moments to explain how the magic works and some of the visual tricks, and is pleased when Clara seems interested and talks about how amazing all of it is.
The performance ends, and Clara excitedly claps and compliments them endlessly, while the Nutcracker speaks with the king, who gives him a cape for Clara to wear, since it is “awfully cold, don’t you think?” The Nutcracker - literally a wooden toy- hadn’t even thought of that. He calls Clara over, and drapes the cloak over her to keep her warm, telling her they have to go on their way to the Land of Sweets. Clara excitedly wonders if she’ll be able to eat everything there as the Nutcracker leads her out, and they make their way to the open road, where they head off to the Sugar Plum Fairy’s domain.
Francesca:
Francesca watches Ludwig try to collect himself, and she asks, as gently as she can manage, what happened. Ludwig explains to her that his brother was cursed, and that he had spent the last two years looking for a way to break it, but he never knew who did it, or now, and with Francesca’s insight, he realized that it had been his brother’s finance - one of the few people he trusted while on his journey. They had been in constant correspondence for those two years and he’s only realizing through rereading just how thoroughly he’d been tricked by her. (There is a lot of dialog here as well as a few flashbacks, so it's like, just as long as the previous section, but I’m just summing it up here)
Frannie tries to comfort him, asking if now that he knows who did it, if that helps him at all, and he tells her yes, that knowing that Vanessa did this to his brother helps immensely, explaining that now he can look specifically for the curse that she translated and its various permutations for a curse breaker. The little girl than asks how she can help, and he looks at her, feeling her burning desire to help him right in his chest. He gets up and grabs a book, telling her that she needs to help him look for similar curses with similar ancient symbols.
She nods and the two of them begin to look…

FINALLYYY done tho after a day of on and off working on it and then some (cuz technically I drew the base for the ref and the nutcracker and TLC ones a few weeks ago)
An image guide to Eclipse!!!! This is mostly for her design reference
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while (and I actually started it a bit back with those ones of her under outfit if people recall this is also the best ref for her scars under her outfit!)
But yeah!!!
Now you know how Eclipse’s outfit in TLC is, A proper guide to her Moon Guardian look (which is her standard look when I draw her), The under outfit in the nutcracker au
As well as some random notes on things like her teeth, tongue, eyes and hair
Also a note, the silver hair in moon guardian occurs after Hat Kid arrives in subcon. Most of the time she actually has her typical long black hair.
Also her scarf only has ONE tail. the other end is tucked under her shirt. There are 8 tassels on the ends
Anyhow Enjoy?? I hope this helps if you for whatever reason wanna draw her??

Some Ruclipse fluffs
I’m gonna try to get out a proper prompt thing tomorrow for those who (and I can not say how mind blowing it is) want to join me for RuClipse Month
If I can get my body to behave tomorrow I’m gonna try to get Eclipse’s proper ref done (with some Au outfit varients) as well as a ref for Ru (both his humanoid Prince look, TLC human ru, and Prince ru)
But we’ll see.

Plot synopsis for an AHIT Nutcracker AU? Let this be your reason to spill the beans please and thank you
I have exactly no idea what this means but I shall take it as enthusiasm.
The plot synopsis is gonna be long and a little befuddled, but it should be going up sometime today or tomorrow -
quick disclaimer though - this will be based very solidly on the BALLET, not the various movies or book. The BALLET. and it will also have an added, important subplot and some stuff is moved around quite a bit.
I’m going a bit ham with it, so I hope you’ll enjoy!

A Hat In Time:: The Nutcracker AU - Characters
Alrightie! I hope ya’ll’re ready for a long-ass read because oh boy...
There is so much here
So much in fact, that I have had to split the document into two - one for the characters, one for the plot(s)
Reminder: This interpretation takes mostly from the Ballet, not the movie or book. And several characters have been drastically changed or replaced
Everything is under the line - please feel free to ask questions!
Enjoy!
Characters:
Snatcher/Prince - Prince Lukas - The Nutcracker
Elder brother and future king of the small Germanic kingdom of Subkohn, was cursed by his fiancé due to an “implied transgression”. He doesn’t actually know how he was cursed (is completely unaware that it was Vanessa) and has had to rely on his brother to help him find a way to break it. He is cursed to fight the Queen of the Cats (See below) until someone wins or looses. Everything changes for the better one cold Christmas eve...
The Subconites - The Toy Soldier Army
MoonJumper - Prince Ludwig - Drosselmeyer
Younger brother of the future king of Subkohn. When his brother came to him with his curse the two left the kingdom under the cover of night, and Ludwig - using his studying of law and a pseudonym he’d been using for his studies- to look into secret libraries with “forbidden” (read: Pagan) Texts and books in an attempt to find anything that might break his brother’s curse. He’s currently “working” as a lawyer for the government owned adoption agency that houses two particularly troublesome orphans.
Hat Kid - Clara
One of the two troublesome orphans, she is rambunctious, kind and curious, and while the two of them are staying at Mr Drosselmeyer’s during Christmas, she finds much appreciation for the Nutcracker that the lawyer keeps in his home, sitting on the table in his living room. On Christmas Eve, when she can’t sleep and goes downstairs, she stumbles upon.. something quite fascinating
Bow Kid - Francesca - Fritz
The second and the older of the two orphans, with a more analytical mind of just about as nosy and rambunctious as her sister. She finds much more interest in the reading that Mr. Drosselmeyer does when he’s not nose-deep in law books. After Clara leaves for the downstairs of the house, Francesca herself sneaks into the man’s library, and finds notes and letters about needing to break a curse, and, using her own fresh perspective, begins to put together disparate clues that lead to the truth about the lost Prince’s curse...
Cooking Cat - Cecilia Stahlbaum - Mrs. Stahlbaum
The Foster Care/ Adoption Agent in charge of the two girls, who has been trying to home them together for the better part of 2 years with no luck. She works with Drosselmeyer closely, and in an effort to give her a much needed break, he offered to take the girls for the Christmas week, seeing as he was familiar with them (and had dealt with a rather nasty threat of litigation due to Clara). She’s no nonsense, but tries to damnedest to make sure that these girls get to live a happy life, as she tries with all of the children in her care.
The Empress - The Queen of the Cats - The Rat King
A ruthless queen who, though magic, follows the Nutcracker to defeat him to gain access to the Snow Kingdom and Land of Sweets, which is the Nutcracker is sworn to protect due to his curse - and a contract. She is desperate and focused... which might end up as her downfall when a certain child rushes into the fray...
The Nyakuza Gang - The Mice/Rat Army
Thor - The Snow King
The kind hearted king of the Snow Kingdom, who welcomes the heroes who defeated the Queen of the Cats on their way to the land of sweets. He offers them sweets of his own, and his children put on a magical show that Clara loves
Mustache Girl - Princess Mu - Snow Princess (Replacing Snow Queen)
Sassy and overly aggressive princess of the Snow Kingdom, puts on a magic show for The Nutcracker and Clara, though she complains at first.
Timmy - Prince Timmy - Snow Prince (Replacing Snow Queen)
Less sassy and not-at-all aggressive prince of the Snow Kingdom. Puts on a magic show for the Nutcracker and Clara, and was excited to do so.
The Shape Shifter - Sugar Plum Fairy
The ambiguous and mysterious leader of the Land of Sweets, who contracted the Nutcracker in order to keep him from falling into disarray and disrepair due to his curse. Seemingly overly kind and hiding agendas, but is actually really, genuinely that nice. Helps the Nutcracker finally find the way to break his curse once his brother finds out who cursed him. Mysterious but not in a threatening way.
