I love the tattoos that you give to characters, they’re very well done and add a lot of character. I’ve been wondering, do they ever get in the way of drawing a character? Like “I wanna draw a character doing this but then I’d have to figure out how the tattoo would look!”

Thank you! also YES. there is nothing worse in this world that i hate more than drawing Peppermint's tattoo.

I think by far the best way to handle (complex) character tattoos is to make a separate drawing and file of said tattoo and then paste that on whenever you draw them, you might need to fiddle with some angles but you'll usually get it done. The problem is that the image might not fit some art- or coloring styles and look very obviously out of place, or it just absolutely doesn't work in the angle. So more often than not even with a premade texture for the tattoo I'm just hand-drawing it (poorly, because I hate it). I need to make a new one.... badly

This is the basis of what Peppermint's tattoo roughly looks like, but I draw it a little differently like every time and need to make a new graphic...

(most of the time I just draw swirls. heres to everyone who had no idea her tattoo is of a leopard seal)

one of my friends' tags for posts that remind him of me is "agony." and it would be a really out of pocket name for a tag about a friend were it not for the fact that i say the phrase "agony." in conversations with him probably. once every single conversation.
