So there’s this song that came out around 2016 called “When My Superheroes Were Friends” by Todd Downing. Amidst all the hero vs hero battles in movies at the time, Todd created a playful tune reminiscing about heroes getting along and punching the bad guys instead of each other.

Youtuber AFewGoodFilms, who produces stop motion Lego brickfilms, created a video to go with the song, focusing on DC characters like Superman and Batman, referencing Batman v. Superman.

There’s just something about this video that’s just moving to me.

Maybe it’s because of my love for Lego or superheroes (and the song is catchy), but i think a big thing that I love is this scene:

Just. That transition. As the song plays its chorus, Batman and Superman are marching towards each other like they’re going to fight like the movie, but then that version melts away, and the brighter Batman and Superman of yesteryear meet at the center and shake hands.

It’s just beautiful to me.
