Please tell me someone else remembers the absolutely stunning BL manga that is Adekan. Like??? The detailing and coloring of these illustrations were mind blowing to me as a budding artist:
Plus the absolutely ridiculous heels and sensual arch in the back of every last prettyboy in the cast:
The manga itself was also insanely impressive with all its finely-detailed linework and I remember the premise being REALLY intriguing.
Umbrella salesman/ex-assassin who teams up with the local officer occasionally to help solve the strange crimes of their town? Plus even more deep lore I'm totally forgetting about??? I spent years obsessed with this series and idk if it ever finished but it came to me in my formative years as an artist and left a permenant mark on my soul.
EDIT: The manga is still ongoing!!!!! Which means it's time for a reread ♡

decided to pick up adekan by nao tsukiji since no one touched it in the past three years! you can find chapter 45 on mangadex, along with all the previous chapters.
if you haven't read adekan, it's a bl-adjacent story set in the early showa era about a policeman yamada kojiro who meets a mysterious and promiscuous (?) umbrella maker yoshiwara shiro. they end up solving crimes together, but shiro's past starts catching up with him. also, tsukiji nao's gorgeous art is there.

Very funny to watch men try to come back at people when they criticize the portrayal of women in animanga aimed at men without actually knowing enough about animanga aimed at women to make a decent argument. No, the pretty boys in Sailor Moon are not comparable to the fanservice in Kill La Kill. Read Adekan and get back to me.

I am trying to create a sort of armour for one of the endings (god the drama). However since I set myself on making it some mixture between armour and pretty decoration...
My mind is ruined by one of the first mangas I read, and I am always coming up with some variations of this, from Adekan by Tsukiji Nao, which... since I bet not many know of it, looks like this:
tw for... lots of skin??

I wish more people got into Adekan.
There’s something so beautiful commissioning art from people that cherish the subject material.
And it would be nice to read fanfics about the officer🫢
