I enjoy whenever people add Adrian to the plot of Hunt Down The Freeman, especially as like. A direct addon. Because it's like adding a sitcom character to a soap opera cast to me and I enjoy the sheer comedy baked into the contrast.

Okay extra ramble time. Hunt Down The Freeman is ENDLESSLY funny to me. I enjoy it so much. I could talk about it forever. It is soooo... uniquely enticing it's like the 1 dollar chocolate bars before the cashier does that make any sense.

I barely talk DIRECTLY about my interests you kinda just find out when I post art about them but this one makes me implode I can say with confidence HDTF did shit to my brain chemistry. Hell on earth 💗💛

anyway well this is based on that AU I made a short storyboard for, here. After Alice kills Mitch, Adam's the captain now and Nick's distressed silhouette in the foreground

Ok so the rewrite is called Let's Not! Hunt Down the Freeman and it starts the same way with Mitchell getting fucking beaten up right. But you see instead of getting visited by G-man he gets visited by EVIL G-man who only goes by Evil G-man for no reason at all what do you mean. Anyways so Mitchell does his stupid little Mitchell stuff as he Hunts Down the Freeman™. I scrapped the child soldier plotline he adopted all of them. Anyways you see uhh Evil G-man really cares about Mitchell and they do get along but you see after the time skip and Mitchell gets the crowbar Evil G-man starts acting not like himself (hmmm) and does the whole. "You have put permission to die" thing. Which Mitchell find suspicious since E.G. is a complete loser and would never say that??? So he goes and does more Mitchell stuff and once he sees that fucking. Asshole who was running the factory. And kills him. He also does find out Adam was cheating on him and has a fit BUT he is still apparently being influenced by G-man, which Mitchell still finds suspicious. So after this he is like "Woooo let's go to the Borealis" and the whole reason why the gameplay sucked so much there is because a mysterious other force wants Mitchell dead but E.G. wants him alive. So that why it sucks so bad. Anyways after some fighting E.G. pulls Mitchell aside and reveals he is a mushroom he literally isn't G-man he also kinda gaslit him into thinking his childhood sucked but he only did it because his "parents" told him too. His "parents" (The Bigger Fish) are these creatures that are siphoning energy from the universe and like. They couldn't get G-man to work for them so they just made their own. So the REAL final battle is between them and The Bigger Fish (I wrote something about it I can find it) and they win!!! And it also turns out in this universe they were also controlling the Combine so like. Yeah. There is a LOT of internal lore for this too so yeah.

as someone who hasnt finished the game start-to-finish yet, this was whiplash after whiplash and i LOVED IT.. GOD OK yeah my brain is EXPLODING!!!!

this is good i really like how you rationalized shitty gameplay I THINK THAT MORE GAMES SHOULD DO THAT.. like bad gameplay can be part of the plot heheh..
