“You should get a new one,” Matt said, typing something up real fast on his laptop.
Joel snorted and said, “Sure, I’ll sell that little computer of yours and buy myself a nice iPhone with the four cameras and shit.”
“It’s three cameras and a LiDAR scanner, dad,” he snarked, finally unlocking his spare phone and sliding it across the table to Joel.
“What’s that? Like the scanner on printers?” He asked, confused once more by technology. The kind of things that came out these days were too much for him to be able to wrap his mind around. Chat GPT, hyaluronic acid, iPads, this fucking scanner thing.
“It’s this sensor that projects invisible lasers and gets data on how far every single thing is. And that way, it can map an entire room,” he said, using gestures to mimic laser beams shooting into a room.
“Sounds like it’ll be more useful in construction. The fuck you need that for?”
He shrugged and went back to his work, the clacking of keys filling up the room once more. Whatever. He needed a spare phone to replace his shit blackberry Sarah got him eons ago. The thing had been through a lot with him and honestly, he couldn’t be too mad at it for dying on him. In all the years he had it, he had taken a few pictures here and there of his kids. But everything else in his gallery was filled with pictures of worksites. Broken pumps, proof to send clients that they were at the site that day, pictures of sample tiles to show clients… Nothing personal. It was the only thing he did on that phone other than making calls.
As he retired for the day, he thought to learn about his new old phone a little. See if the camera was any better. He propped a pillow up against the headboard and leaned back. When he finally found the camera app, he took a couple pictures of his room. Looking back at them, he was a little glad that his old phone died. The camera on this thing was better. It was newer than his old one, so maybe that was it. He didn’t have complaints about his old one, but damn this was it. It was so fucking good.
He swiped his thumb against the screen, looking at pictures, not stopping when he went back to pictures of his son. Pictures of him partying that he had never shown his old man before. He smiled, going through pictures of a side of his son’s life he never knew. Shit parents never got to see.
His heart leapt out at the next swipe, the screen filled with a picture of a nude woman.
You, he realized as he looked at the face. You had a smile on, the same sweet one you always sent him when you exchanged pleasantries and thanked him for letting you crash at his place for the summer. But the picture of you was anything but sweet.
He swiped to the previous picture, an identical one. Except you were biting your bottom lip and looking at him—at the camera with a sultry gaze. His mouth watered as he focused on your tits. Fuuuck they were good ones, he had to admit. He wasn’t a boob man. Or an ass man, frankly. He was just bad at the whole thing. But yours ignited something in him.
He found an entire album full of nude pictures of you. Pictures you posed for. There was a variety. You nude, you in bikinis, in figure hugging dresses that drove him crazier than the first category. In high heels, sideways pictures of your reflection where you stuck your ass out. One with you sucking on a fucking popsicle. Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck.
He’d told himself it was wrong. He’d found his pleasure in others. But fuck he couldn’t get his mind off of you. And now here you were, naked on his phone without your knowledge.
As he wrapped his hand around his hardening cock, he knew that he’d lost the fight. He should not be doing this. But just this once. It was his phone now after all. A justification. Weak, but it was all he had in the moment.
He pumped his cock, eyes trained on the pictures of you. He swiped back and forth between the pictures, desperate to have you in all your forms. In the cocktail dresses and the ratty old t-shirts. Wearing the bright red lipstick and the soft pink one. He imagine you, whimpering quietly the way you did that night when he found you fucking yourself in his living room.
He groaned, his cock twitching at the recollection of his creepy voyeurism. He wondered what you sounded like when you had a man. When you didn’t have to rely on your fingers, but had a good girth cock thrusting in and out. When you had a finger rubbing your clit softly. He imagined his large hand full with your breast, his lips sucking on the other one.
On your knees, right here in his bedroom, his cock in your mouth instead of in his fist. As your licked his balls with his cock deep in your throat in his mind’s eye, he exploded, coating his hand in sticky white ropes of his cum. He groaned and pulled out a few tissues, wiping off the mess you’d created.
His perverted mind imagined you still there, eagerly licking up his release. His mind was no longer pleased with such sinful images of you. The clarity that came after his orgasm tasted bitter on his tongue.
He would have to delete the photos. Tomorrow. He’d do it tomorrow.

Anyways since it's not common knowledge that you can get into doing stained glass really easily nowadays i thought I'd go ahead and put together a quick and dirty explanation on it. Prices are given in USD and are based on how much they cost at my localish stained glass shop in jul 2022 but all items can be gotten at larger craft stores or online.
Hobby Lobby has an extensive stained glass section usually. They also have coupons and don't put barcodes on their merchandise so they don't always track their stock super well. do with that last bit of information what you will
skip to the bottom of you just want to see steps
Supplies:
Mandatory Tools, buy these once and never again (unless they break or somethin):
Glass cutters: Pencil grip if you're confident in your hand strength, Pistol grip if you have joint issues (most of the folk i know irl that are into stained glass are arthritic and swear by the pistol grips, do with that tinfo what you will)
Pliers: You'll need 2 types, grozzier pliers and curved jaw pliers. these are not the same as the pliers you use in most other applications. you can usually get both bundled with a glass cutter for less than 30$
Soldering Iron: Get one that comes with a soldering station and a flat chisel shaped tip. Weller is the industry standard. 40 bucks.
semi optional: a wet grinder: not 100 percent necessary but it makes life a hundred times easier and lets you do more complicated shapes with less skill than you would need otherwise, so I'm putting it here. It's vital that it's a wet grinder because aerosolized glass dust is bad for your everything. 90$. if you don't get a wet grinder you will just need some 400 grit or higher waterproof sandpaper. Wet sand your pieces. Do not dry sand.
70-190$ to start
consumables:
Glass: comes in two main types, Translucent/Cathedral, and Opaque. From there there are Many variations including waterglass and iridescent glass. Prices range from 8$ a square foot up to a couple hundred for handmade artisan stuff, but most seem to be between 10$ and 20$ 1 square foot of glass goes further than you think it will
Solder: Must Be Acid Free. Solder with an acid core is really common because that's what's used in every other application. it will not work for stained glass. Solder comes in 4 main types but there's plenty of others out there: lead free, 60/40, 70/30, and 50/50. Get 60/40 to start out unless the lead scares you, then get lead free. (the lead content in solder is not dangerous so long as you aren't regularly licking the final product/using it for food. The fumes can cause migraines tho so ventilation is a good idea) 26$ per pound, goes a long way
Flux: any solder flux will do, 4$ lasts forever
glass cutting oil: it's what it says on the tin, use this with the glass cutter to make it work. 10$ per bottle lasts forever.
copper foil tape: used to make the solder stick to the glass. comes in may sizes, just grab one that's thicker than your glass and Feels right. what width you use is entirely personal preference on anything that's not too big. 7$
Homasote/compressed cellulose fiber board/ cork/ ceiling tiles/ drywall/ plywood: You're going to need something to solder and pin your glass pieces on, any of these will do. All of them are reusable but you will probably need to cut them down to more comfortably fit your project which is why I'm putting them here instead of the buy them once category. 69¢ for the cieling tiles to like 50$ for a sheet of homasote get whatever is easiest/cheapest. or solder on a heat proof surface you already have.
tarnish/patina: the solder will naturally turn black overtime but it won't look pretty while doing it. you either need to clean it regularly or just accept that it will tarnish and do the work for it. Tarnish commonly comes in black and bronze. don't let these get on your skin. it won't hurt but prolonged and repeat exposure is a cancer and chemical burn risk. 11$
~100$. everything besides the glass and solder will last a couple dozen projects at minimum, most will last Mucho longer.
optional:
Nick's Grinder's Mate. it's a special made item for stained glass grinding but if you don't like your hands getting wet or have issues with your hands it makes the process So Much Easier.
Metal or glass head sewing pins. they're used to help hold your glass in place while soldering many people don't use them at all.
plastic waffle grid: it catches the tiny little glass shards that flake off while cutting. It just makes clean up much much Much easier and reduces the amount of shards that end up on the floor and in your feet (please wear shoes while cutting glass, i don't, but you should.)
Safety:
Eye protection, you don't need anything super extreme but yeah glass shards bad.
gardening gloves with thick palm and finger protection to reduce cuts and handle pieces during soldering.
bandaids, glass cuts don't usually hurt but they do bleed. think paper cut in terms of severity.
additional bits you probably already have:
scissors, paper, sharpie or dry erase markers, glue sticks
Basic process
find or draw up a pattern
make 2 copies of it, one to use as reference one to cut up and glue to your glass as a pattern. Alternatively you can trace your pattern onto the glass if you'd rather not use the paper
number the pieces on both the glass and the pattern to avoid having to do a broken glass jigsaw puzzle.
score the glass
use the pliers to break along your score lines
wet sand the sharp edges or grind to final shape
(if you're starting with a pre cut kit which are apparently becoming more common, skip to here) clean the pieces to remove grunge so the tape will stick
wrap edges in copper tape,
burnish them to smooth out the foil, i just use the handle on my scissors
arange the pieces in their final shape, pin them if desired.
coat the copper tape in flux and tack the joints together with solder.
run a bead of solder along the lines.
flip the piece and repeat 10 and 11
cover the edges.
add tarnish if desired.
ooh and ah over your final piece.

You Say Hate But I Think You Mean The Other Thing
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Warnings: All the feels, I don't know where this chapter came from.
Angst. Depression. Anxiety. Mourning. Drug and alcohol abuse. Vomiting. Choking. Blood. Near death experience. The ending is hopeful.
The next six weeks passed in a haze. It took three weeks of you dragging yourself through each day on autopilot before you asked for a leave of absence.
It was amazing you lasted that long with all the speculation surrounding Dave's death flying around the office.
His body was found burned beyond recognition in a his car by the docks. Some people didn't understand why he would be out there. Some drew a tenuous link between his death and the botched op. He was accused of being a traitor, killing himself for the payout for his kids, of playing both sides off each other and getting himself killed.
If you weren't so numb, you probably would have been fired for punching those gossiping assholes. It took another two days of sitting with your thoughts at home for you to finally break.
Dave was dead. You'd seen his body. Seen the dental records and DNA test results. He was gone. The ingredients for tomato soup had rotted in the fridge before you threw them out. Dave wasn't going to use them. He was gone. You loved him and he was gone. Death wasn't anything new to you. Even the death of a loved one. It had been decades since your father died but part of you still couldn't wrap your head around the fact that you would never see him again. Dave was gone, you would never see him again.
Alcohol and prescription meds dulled you in a different way now. Your stomach ached all the time from anxiety and the empty churn of your stomach acid. Your clothes were loose. Your face was pallid. You slept all day and stayed up all night. In the night it was easier to pretend Dave was just away somewhere, chasing a lead, back with his wife. The thought of his family going through this brought tears to your eyes. Sobs burst from you as hot tears streamed down your cheeks. Those poor little girls that Dave worshipped.
The day time just made you angry. People just going about their business, like your world wasn't braking apart. Like it hadn't stopped spinning the moment you got that call. They got coffee, rode the subway, went to work. They acted like everything was normal. It wasn't normal. It wasn't okay. It never would be.
The empty vodka bottle in your hand smashed on the hardwood floor. The house was in darkness. Even the ever present glow of the TV was gone. You must have slept even longer today.
"Damn it." Slipping to your knees, you began to pick up the pieces. The smaller pieces bit into the skin of your fingers, jerking in pain, you knelt on a larger piece.
In your current state the sight of blood was too much. Bile rose into your throat as you stumbled to the bathroom. With nothing but some dry toast in your stomach from yesterday, your whole body lurched as your stomach fought to empty was little was in there. When it finally forced the tiny morsel up it caught in your throat causing you to choke until your vision darkened. Your body kept trying to dispel it. Your now blood soaked knees fought for purchase on the tiled floor as you wretched. Your pulse was erratic as you fought for breath. All of this was done on instinct, you didn't have enough left in you to try to save yourself.
Death must have been pulling at you, you could have swore you could hear Dave's voice. It was only when someone pulled you up right to deliver a sharp slap between your shoulder blades you realised someone was actually there. Your mind must have convinced you it was Dave. Another blow to your back dislodged the food. Strong arms picked you up and delivered you back to bed.
It was late afternoon when you woke up. Everywhere was cleaned up, only the ache of your throat and sting of your cuts served as proof that last night happened. A sound from the kitchen drew your attention. "Dave?" You called without thinking.
"You're awake." Two soft, brown eyes appeared around the door. Though not the ones you expected.
"Ray?" You blinked at your brother, well half brother. After your mom ran off, when you were five, she had Ray. She dumped him too so you weren't raised together. His dad was a preacher. Your's was a cop. Ray was ten years younger than you. He was a good kid. You? Not so much. It was only after your father died when you were seventeen that you even knew about him. The relationship between you wasn't exactly an easy one. You just didn't have than much in common. He was a sweet, decent man. You were bound by blood and little else.
"Your work called me. They were worried." He tried to answer some of your questions before you could ask them. "I came right away. Good job I did, you were in quite a state."
It was Ray that saved you. He was probably the last person alive that would be sad if you'd have died. "Thank you, Ray."
"You're welcome." He pulled the chair over from the corner of your room before he sat with you. "Listen, I know you lost somebody but I can't imagine they'd want this for you. Look at you. When did you last eat?"
Looking anywhere but at him you shrugged. It was a long time since someone showed that much interest in your health. It was hard to accept his care. "That long, huh? Let's get you clean and fed back up. How long you been on the pills?" Ray had worked with enough users to see what was going on. "It's fine. You don't have to tell me. I'd like you to get cleaned up though. I'd like you to be around to meet you niece or nephew in about six months."
"Amerie's pregnant?" The first smile in a long time tugged at your lips. A long time ago you forgot what actual life was like, life outside of work. This is what it was made of. It felt good.
"Yeah. We've been trying a while. We were finally blessed. So you have to get your ass sober to meet them."
You wanted to scream at him, swear at him, throw him out. Dave was gone. That should be it, there shouldn't be anythjng beyond that. He wouldn't tease you or asked you for advice or kiss you or cook for you again. How could there be more life you had to live without him?
The wide smile on Ray's face and the kindness in his eyes kept you docile. You looked down at the plasters on you knee and fingers. You wouldn't be here without him. He was right, Dave wouldn't have wanted this for you. Ray stayed for the next week. He cleaned the house. Cooked food for you, nothing more complicated than pasta, but by the end of the week you were grateful for it. He was chopping up tomatoes when he cut his thumb.
"Hey, where's your first aid kit?" He called up to you room.
"I just have the one in my bathroom." You called back.
When he appeared holding a towel over his thumb and breezed past you, you moved to follow him. He was rooting in your cabinet when you caught up.
"Not there. That one." You pointed to the one under the sink.
Ray retrieved it and set to work patching up his thumb.
"You forgot where that was already?" It struck you as odd because Ray had a fantastic memory.
"What do you mean?"
"The first aid kit."
"What? You never told me where it was."
"I know but didn't you use it to patch me up? Don't tell me you had your own plasters on you like a boyscout."
"What? I didn't patch you up."
"You said about the state I was in."
"Yeah, you were on the bed muttering in your sleep. You were saying your friend's name. You must have been having a nightmare, you were crying. Your hands were already patched up though. I saw them when I pulled the covers over you once you were calm again."
The blood in your veins ran cold. Ray didn't save you. "Who did you say called you?"
"Honestly, I can't remember his name. He just said he was a concerned friend from work. He said you needed looking after. He told me where your spare key was and the alarm code."
"Where...?" You didn't have a spare key. The people you knew didn't need keys to get into your home. You knees buckled at the thoughts forming in your mind. "Whoa, whoa easy. Are you okay?" Ray helped you to sit back on your bed.
"Yeah. Low blood sugar or something. I guess."
Ray didn't believe that for a second but figured you could use a moment alone. "I'll run over to the bakery, get you something sweet."
Once the front door closed you reached for your phone. It was a stupid idea. Scrolling through your messages you found the burner number Dave used. You knew it was untraceable. You thumbs flew across the keyboard as you sent a simple message: Dave?
Coming back to your senses to tossed the phone on the bed and buried your head in your pillow. You must be going mad. Picking your phone up, you tapped to delete the message, wantung to erasing any sign of you idiocy, only to pause when you saw that someone was typing. After what felt like an age, a message popped up. Dropping the phone, you let out a scream, every emotion seemed to be contained with it at the words on the screen: Hi, Princess.
Tears clouded your vision as you typed. You started and deleted the message over and over. You needed to know if it was him. It couldn't be, couldn't it? Would he really have faked his death, he could have easily but why do that to his girls? He adored them. There were so many things to say. He beat you to the punch:
It's really me. I'm sorry. I know it's been difficult. I wanted to stay the other night and explain but if I can watch you so can they. Don't tell your brother. Don't try to contact me. Just stay safe. Your brother wants you to go stay with him. Do it.
Your mind was reeling as another message came through.
I love you.
It only stayed for a second before it was deleted along with the other message. When you tried to reply the message wouldn't send.
It just sat there on your screen: I love you too.

Innovation in Clarity: Exploring the Applications of Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) (2023-2034)
Tumblr media
Ever heard of Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)? PMMA is a transparent and rigid thermoplastic, crafted from the monomer methyl methacrylate, holding impressive resistance to UV light and weathering. With its crystal-clear clarity, PMMA finds its way into a myriad of applications, from sleek car windows and durable smartphone screens. Read more about the versatility and manufacturing of PMMA in this blog! The global Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) market is likely to flourish at a CAGR of 4.05% by the year 2034.
Introduction
A scientific term, Poly (methyl methacrylate), refers to the clear and lightweight plastic commonly called acrylic or plexiglass. In its natural state, it's easily broken, but it can be colored, textured, and shaped in many ways. Crystal-clear plastic, known as Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or acrylic, stands out for its toughness. Unlike glass, it won't shatter, making it a popular choice as a substitute. PMMA boasts several advantages over other clear plastics like polycarbonate (PC) and polystyrene (PS). These include superior resistance to sun damage and weather, exceptional light transmission, and the ability to be colored in any shade imaginable.
Scientific Properties: PMMA is scratch resistant and remains unaffected by aqueous solutions. However, exposure to certain chemicals like aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, or ketones can compromise its surface.
Sound and Break-Resistance: PMMA acts as a sound-resistant material, reducing the transmission of external sound waves. This quality makes it ideal for constructing spaces that require internal sound insulation, such as audio studios, libraries, quiet rooms, and vehicles.
Environmental Sustainability: PMMA exhibits excellent outdoor durability, resisting corrosion, ultraviolet light, and various environmental factors. Furthermore, it is both recyclable and BPA-free, making it one of the safer plastics in terms of environmental impact. These characteristics contribute to PMMA's sustainability profile, aligning with eco-conscious practices and initiatives.
Tumblr media
Manufacturing Process
PMMA, derived from methacrylic acid (CH2=C[CH3]CO2H), is a significant member of the acrylic resin family. Its production primarily involves propylene, obtained from the lighter fractions of crude oil, and benzene, reacting to form cumene or isopropylbenzene. The resulting cumene undergoes oxidation to cumene hydroperoxide, then acid treatment to yield acetone. Subsequently, acetone undergoes a three-step process to produce methyl methacrylate (CH2=C[CH3]CO2CH3), a flammable liquid. Methyl methacrylate is polymerized, either in bulk liquid form or as fine droplets suspended in water, using free-radical initiators to form solid PMMA. This polymerization process links the molecules together, resulting in the formation of PMMA with a repeating unit structure.
The polymerization reactor receives a feed mixture consisting of a monomer, water acting as the reaction medium, suspending agents, and a monomer-soluble initiator. To adjust the density of the aqueous medium, decrease the monomer's water solubility, and increase interfacial tension, an inorganic salt is added. Polymerization occurs at around 100°C. After polymerization, the resulting slurry is neutralized with sulfuric acid before undergoing filtration or centrifugation. The material is then dried. This method ensures the controlled production of the desired polymer, achieved through the precise interaction of monomers, reaction medium, initiators, and additives within the polymerization reactor.
Applications of Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA)
Construction
PMMA is very useful in building. It is commonly used for shatterproof skylights. It may also be found in many shower and bath systems, and many people prefer acrylic over ceramic tiles. As previously said, acrylic may be found in many sound-proof rooms, audio studios, and automobiles.
Automotive
PMMA sheets are utilized in automobile windows, motorbike windshields, interior and exterior panels, fenders, and other vehicle components. Colored acrylic sheets are also utilized in automotive indication light covers and interior light covers, among other applications. It is also utilized for ship windows (salt resistance) and aviation applications.
Electronics
Because of its superior optical clarity, high light transmission, and scratch resistance, PMMA is widely utilized in LCD/LED television screens, computers, smartphone displays, and electrical equipment. PMMA is also utilized as a cover material in solar panels due to its strong UV resistance and light transmission properties, which allow for high energy conversion efficiencies.
Furniture
PMMA provides exceptional features like transparency, hardness, and attractiveness to make chairs, tables, kitchen cabinets, bowls, and table mats in any shape, color, or finish.
Market Outlook:
The PMMA market is embracing sustainability. As environmental concerns grow, manufacturers are seeking eco-friendly solutions for PMMA, either through bio-based materials, improved recycling, or circular economy approaches. This aligns with the global push for sustainability and positions PMMA to meet evolving consumer and regulatory demands. Additionally, PMMA's clear optics, biocompatibility, and easy sterilization make it ideal for healthcare applications like lenses, instruments, and dental materials. As healthcare technology advances, PMMA's properties are well-suited for these demanding medical uses, creating exciting opportunities for market growth and diversification.
Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) Major Players
Significant companies in the Global Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) market are Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd., Evonik, Chi Mei Corporation, Sumitomo Chemical, LX MMA, Wanhua Chemical, Suzhou Double Elephant Optical Materials, and Kuraray Co., Ltd., Lotte MCC, and Others.
Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) market restraints
The Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) market faces several restraints as well. These are as follows:
Fluctuating Raw Material Prices: Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) production relies on raw materials like bisphenol A and phosgene, the prices of which are subject to market volatility. Fluctuations in raw material costs can affect the overall production costs and profit margins for Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) manufacturers.
Difficulty in Recycling: While clear acrylic sheets can be recycled, the process is complex. Breaking down large pieces and using specialized methods like perspex recycling are just the first steps.  This difficulty contributes to a global problem of acrylic waste harming ecosystems.  In some areas, acrylic buildup disrupts the natural balance of CO2 and O2 exchange, hindering plant growth.
Conclusion:
The Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) market has boomed in recent years, driven by its use in key industries like electronics, automotive, and construction. PMMA's unique properties, such as high durability and chemical resistance, suggest continued growth in the coming years. Rising urbanization, increasing demand for modern electronics, and projected growth in vehicle sales are all expected to fuel PMMA demand by 2034.

Low Moisture Cleaning Products Used to Restore Victorian Tiles in Cheadle
The owner of this property in Cheadle discovered a small Victorian tiled floor in the vestibule at the front of the house, under what they described as a “grotty grey carpet”. They couldn’t believe they had been covered over by a previous owner and were made up to find such a lovely period feature which although very dirty appeared to be complete.
Tumblr media
I was asked if I could replace the loose grouting and renovate the tiles to bring back as much of their original character as possible. Happy to oblige, I visited the property to inspect the tiles and confirm the work needed to restore the floor. From this I provided the owners with a quote which they were happy to accept, and we arranged a time to complete the work.
Cleaning and Repairing a Victorian Tiled Hallway Floor
I started the renovation of the Victorian vestibule tiles with a deep restorative clean to remove heavy soil and old sealers. Properties of this age do not usually have a damp proof membrane and I was wary that using a lot of water on the floor may exacerbate damp issues and take much longer to dry out; with that in mind I decided to use a low moisture Gel cleaning product called Tile Doctor Oxy-Gel.
The product is applied to the tiles, the after about ten minutes it’s worked in with a mechanical buffing machine fitted with a black scrubbing pad. This process brings the dirt to the surface and turns the gel black in the process. The machine just about fitted into the space however the circular pads struggle to get into the corners so for that I then reverted to a handheld scrubbing brush and more Tile Doctor Oxy-Gel. The now soiled gel was then removed using a little water and a wet vacuum system designed to keep the mess to a minimum.
There was evidence of white efflorescence salts on some of the tiles which isn’t surprising considering the age of the property and the location of the tiles. To resolve this, I gave the tiles an acid rinse and sticking with the low moisture then I applied Tile Doctor Acid Gel. This product further cleans up the tiles and being acidic dissolves the salts and neutralises the pH level of the floor after the use of Oxy-Gel earlier. I used the same system as before, working the gel in with a pad and by hand then extracting with a wet vacuum.
Sealing a Victorian Tiled Hallway Floor
After carrying out some minor grout repairs, we left the area to fully dry overnight before returning the following day to seal with Tile Doctor X-Tra Seal. This product is fully breathable and so will allow for moisture to rise through the tile and evaporate at the surface, perfect for a floor without a damp proof membrane. Once done the floor had a nice matt finish, but the delightful colours of the original tiles now really shone through and lifted the whole entrance area.
Tumblr media
My client was very pleased with the outcome and left the following glowing comment on the Tile Doctor feedback system.“Absolutely amazing craftsmanship. I asked for the tiles to be preserved with their characteristics rather than ‘repaired’ and he did exactly that. They somehow look brand new while still showing their story from the day they were laid. He has cleaned them up beyond expectation and protected them for hundreds of years to come!”
For aftercare I recommended the use of Tile Doctor Neutral Tile Cleaner, it’s a gentle yet effective floor cleaning product that’s safe to use on sealed tiles and will help to keep the area looking pristine in the future.

How Much Does Bird Proofing Cost For Solar Panels?
Pigeon droppings can cause permanent damage to solar panels through structural harm and corrosion. They also pose a health hazard, as they can carry diseases including E.coli, Salmonella, Histoplasmosis and Cryptococcosis. In addition, pigeons will build nests under solar panel bird proofing cost which can create a mess that needs to be cleaned. Their droppings are highly acidic and can lead to discolouration of the roof tiles. They will also clog gutters and block roof drains, leading to expensive maintenance and repair work. In businesses, pigeons can be a major nuisance, turning customers away and damaging the company’s reputation.
In the UK, there are a number of different solutions available to deter pigeons from landing on or nesting under solar panels. These range from bird spikes to mesh netting. The cost of a solution will vary depending on the method chosen and the size of the solar panel installation.
The most effective and least costly solution is to install a mesh screen or bird net around the area of the solar panels. These are more aesthetically pleasing and safer for the birds than spikes, but they will still need to be removed and reinstalled periodically. The mesh can be fixed to the roof with PVC pipes or chicken wire. When choosing a company to install these screens, choose one that belongs to the British Pest Control Association (BPCA) and uses fully trained operatives. They should be able to supply evidence of BPCA membership when requested.
Another option is to use a chemical repellent, such as bird gels or sprays, to discourage birds from landing on or nesting under the solar panels. These products create an unpleasant surface or scent and can be bought from a variety of suppliers in the UK. It is important to ensure that the chemicals used are bird-friendly and environmentally safe.
A more visually appealing but less effective solution is to place predator decoys such as plastic owls or falcons near the solar panels. These can be moved regularly to prevent the birds from becoming accustomed to them and are typically priced between PS10 and PS30 each.
The most effective and aesthetically pleasing solution is to construct physical barriers around or above the solar panels using materials like metal wires or chicken wire. These can be fixed as a frame around the panels or built as structures above them. The cost of this will depend on the type and quality of the materials used to construct the barriers. Another alternative is to use ultrasonic devices, which emit high-frequency sound waves that scare birds away. This is an affordable solution, but it may disturb neighbours, so should be used with caution.

"It is most difficult to transmit in writing an adequate description of this vast movement which both enhances and exceeds the scope of agrarian socialization per se. Here in Mas de las Matas, as in any other collectivized village, there are not only the familiar outward signs of community enterprise, which we have seen in Graus (like the red and black signs designating factories, communal markets, and hotels) but something far more substantial: the installations which constitute the lifeblood of collective life. The district warehouses (for chemical products, cement, raw materials for all the industries) are here, where other village collectives deposit needed surplus commodities, and in exchange pick up necessary goods according to arrangements worked out by the assemblies of fraternal delegates. In the spacious premises of a wealthy fascist who fled are kept stocks of clothing to be distributed to the people of the district. Here also is the place where the individual peasant owners can pick up goods they need and where the amount of goods supplied to each family is recorded.
In the newly built distillery cooperative, organized by the district villages, tartaric acids and ninety-proof medicinal alcohol are extracted from the residue of raisins. In the tailoring shop, men and women cut and sew clothes to order for the collectivists in a good variety of cloth and colors. A family of four (mother, father, and two children) is entitled to 280 pesetas worth of clothing, which is two or three times more than an average peasant family spent for clothes under the old order.
Women shop for provisions in well-appointed sanitary markets done in white tile and marble. Tasty bread of the highest quality is now baked in the collective bakeries at less cost. Dress shops not only make fashionable clothes for women and girls, but as in many other villages young girls are taught how to sew clothes for their future children.
A sign reads “Public Library.” It is surprisingly well stocked with a good selection of books on academic subjects — sociology, literature ... and a good variety of school textbooks... The library is free to all including the “individualists” (nonmembers of the collectives). There are also educational activities for young and old.
In the spirit and practice of solidarity for all through respect for the individuality of each, every family is allotted a small parcel of land to use as it wishes, supplementing their diet by growing certain fruits and vegetables, raising rabbits, etc. Rationing is not therefore synonymous with uniformity.
If clothes, for example, are also rationed, it is not because the collectives in this part of Aragon lack the necessary purchasing power. There are many products, principally wheat, which could be exchanged for clothing manufactured in Catalonia. However, enormous quantities of wheat, meat, vegetables, and olive oil, which could be exchanged for other goods, but are sorely needed to sustain the armed forces in the anti-fascist war, are donated free of charge to the soldiers. Likewise, great quantities of goods are donated to Madrid, besieged by the Franco armies.
Medical care and medicines are free. Free eyeglasses are provided for both collectivists and “individualists.” Public instruction is obligatory for children up to the age of fourteen. A new rural school some distance from the village has just been built and opened for all older children who have never before attended school. And in Mas de las Matas, two young teachers graduated from colleges in Saragossa, Valencia and Teruel have been placed in charge of two new classrooms providing for the education of 50 children in each room.[96]
According to the norms established throughout Aragon, Castile, and the Levant, no collective is allowed to go into business for itself for its own profit. This avoids the tendency towards speculation, which is made easy by the war situation and is fairly common (a type of competition which so often characterizes certain collective factories, especially the textile mills in Barcelona). These measures of a moral character are on a par with the sense of organizational responsibility prevailing in the socialized villages. Each collectivized village provides a list of its surplus products and the products in short supply to the Cantonal (district) Committee. The Committee headquarters in Mas de las Matas keeps track of the surplus commodities and needs of each collective village. It knows exactly what reserves of wine, meat, olive oil, wheat (flour), potatoes, sugar, and other supplies each village has on hand. If, for example, a collective furnishing oil does not need wine, it can order other articles, or reserve them until they become available, or hold surplus commodities for exchange with other collectives in the district, The Cantonal Committee is actually a kind of clearing house for exchange or barter. In addition, through the general market and the communal warehouse, the facilities for exchange within and outside the village are always at hand.
This system of exchange is practiced without the slightest reservation because the spirit of profiteering no longer motivates the collectivists. A village which, because of unusually difficult circumstances, has nothing to exchange will not therefore be condemned to poverty, or be compelled to mortgage itself and its economy for years and years. For example: this year the principal crops of Mas de las Matas, Seno, and La Ginebrosa were destroyed by hailstorms. In a capitalist regime, such natural disasters would have meant endless privations, heavy debts, foreclosures, and even emigration of some workers for several years. But in the regime of libertarian solidarity, these difficulties were overcome by the efforts of the whole district. Provisions, seeds, etc., everything needed to repair the damage, were furnished in the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity — without conditions, without contracting debts. The Revolution has created a new civilization!"

Industrial Flooring
Industrial flooring is more resistant to the corrosion of dozens of chemical substances such as strong acids, alkalis, and oils than PVC flooring, while also being more wear-resistant, pressure resistant, and impact resistant. Industrial flooring is suitable for electronic and microelectronic industries that require high cleanliness, aesthetics, dust-free, and sterility, pharmaceutical industries that implement GMP standards, precision instruments, aerospace, and other fields. It has the advantages of seamless, solid texture, waterproof, moisture-proof, and anti-skid functions, convenient maintenance, and low maintenance costs. The difference from industrial floor tile flooring is that in addition to having the high strength, wear resistance, and pressure resistance of floor tiles, it also has a certain degree of elasticity and flexibility, lighter sound noise, better foot feel, and certain functions of warmth, sound insulation, and dust prevention, which cannot be met by floor tile flooring.
Compared with floor paint, industrial flooring has more obvious advantages, such as longer service life and better comfort. Due to the Thermal expansion of the ground surface, the floor paint is more likely to be damaged, dust is easily generated, and maintenance is frequent. And after repair, the color difference is different and the sensory perception is not ideal.
Industrial Flooring Types
Epoxy Polymer Industrial Flooring
The polymer industrial floor can achieve an ultra-high wear resistance of 21500 revolutions (tested with 180 grit sandpaper), and can be repaired and refurbished through polishing after damaging scratches are generated. The thickness of the wear-resistant layer on the floor surface layer is as high as 0.7-1.2 mm, and the wear-resistant layer is produced from pure material. There is no dust and no discoloration when polishing the floor, Polishing, waxing, or roller coating with water-based polyurethane can rejuvenate the old ground.
Epoxy Flooring Paint
Our products include solvent-free and water-based epoxy resin floor coatings, polyurethane floor coatings, ultra wear-resistant polyurethane covering materials, solvent-free colored sand self-leveling materials, and elastic acrylic floor materials. Representative inorganic products include emery wear-resistant aggregates, special cement-based self-leveling materials, rapid repair mortar materials, and inorganic grinding stone matching materials. This product has good permeability and sealing properties to concrete, improves the hardness of the base surface, and provides good adhesion, with good economy. Epoxy floor paint has the advantages of rich products, excellent quality, convenient construction, low price, and perfect after-sales service.

Sustainable And Eco-Friendly Options for Industrial Flooring
Sustainable development and meeting the requirements of environmental protection:
Cost reduction and efficiency enhancement: Epoxy polymer industrial flooring is cheap in price, with a service life of 8-10 years, and there is basically no need for high cost maintenance. Based on the two to three year renovation or maintenance of industrial flooring used in other categories, the product has a higher cost-effectiveness.
The product is easy to lay and can be installed without stopping production. At the same time, it can be loaded and used in one day, saving decoration time and costs for enterprises.
The product has good detection performance, does not contain harmful substances, meets the requirements of high-quality ambient air, and is energy-saving and emission reducing.
Maintenance And Cleaning of Industrial Flooring
Maintenance And Cleaning:
After 8 hours of paving, it can be pedestrian and loaded after 24 hours.
During use, sharp objects should be avoided from scratching the ground.
During use, people and objects should try to avoid bringing in coarse and hard gravel, and if there is any, it should be removed in a timely manner.
Regular Sweeping: Regularly sweep the floor to remove dust, dirt, and debris. This can prevent scratches and damage to the floor surface.
Use Appropriate Cleaning Solutions: Use a cleaning solution suitable for the type of industrial flooring. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the floor. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Regular Mopping: Mop the floor regularly to remove any stains or spills. For larger industrial spaces, an automatic floor scrubber may be more efficient.
1
When welding or installing heavy equipment in the paving area, necessary protective measures should be taken for the ground.
2
Adhering to daily maintenance and cleaning, keeping the workshop or work environment clean, is also beneficial for extending the service life of the floor panel and reducing the repair rate.
Quality Control Measures in Industrial Flooring Manufacturing Processes
1. Raw Material Inspection: The first step in quality control is to inspect the raw materials used in the manufacturing process. This includes checking the quality of cement, aggregates, and other materials to ensure they meet the required standards.
2. Process Control: This involves monitoring the manufacturing process to ensure that it is carried out correctly. This includes checking the mixing of materials, the pouring of the concrete, and the curing process.
3. Testing: Various tests are carried out on the finished product to ensure it meets the required standards. This includes strength tests, slip resistance tests, and durability tests.
4. Inspection: The finished product is inspected for any defects or irregularities. This includes checking for cracks, uneven surfaces, and other issues that could affect the performance of the floor.
Documentation: All quality control measures are documented for future reference. This includes recording the results of tests and inspections, as well as any actions taken to correct issues.

XINC Waterproof Decoration Diary: How to Select Waterproof Materials for Basements?
There are various types of waterproof materials, each with different advantages and applicability. In furniture engineering, there are four commonly used waterproof materials for bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, etc.: cement mortar, polyurethane, JS waterproof coating, and acrylic acid. So, let’s learn how to choose waterproof materials for the basement together!
Characteristics and applicability of basement waterproofing materials
Tumblr media
2、 XINC Waterproof Polyurethane The polyurethane system can be used both indoors and outdoors, with a thickness of about 3mm and an elasticity of over 300%. The substrate will not crack even if it breaks, so it has good waterproof performance. The disadvantage is that it has a strong odor and is not environmentally friendly.
Tumblr media
4、 XINC Waterproof Acrylic acid Acrylic acid series is a pure liquid, non-toxic, harmless, non flammable, and can be used after opening the lid. It is easily soluble in water and can form a strong waterproof layer due to wall cracks. Its performance characteristics are stable, the application effect is ideal, and the price is relatively friendly. It can be used for wall waterproofing, so it is very common in decoration waterproofing projects.
The function of the waterproof layer is to isolate external water sources, while the moisture-proof layer prevents moisture, not water. Due to the dampness in the south, once you return to the tide of the southern sky, you will see that the people decorating with ceramic tiles are all wet. So the two are different concepts. Due to the susceptibility of the exterior walls and bottom plates of basements to groundwater damage, moisture-proof and waterproofing issues are important issues that need to be addressed in basement design. Due to high environmental protection requirements, it is difficult to choose good polyurethane waterproofing materials on the market. If the quality of these materials does not meet standards, they will not be environmentally friendly. Therefore, overall, it is better to choose acrylic and JS waterproofing coatings.

Purchase Sandstone Blocks For Constructing Beautiful Homes
Sandstone, a famous sedimentary rock contains feldspar and quartz grains. Since past handful of centuries, sandstone has been used being a construction material out of its durability and strength. Besides having unique shades and inherent beauty, this stone looks attractive when used by building luxurious bungalows therefore many constructors prefer sandstone blocks for condos. Sandstone blocks that are used for construction are first crushed and broken into fine gravel like powdery substance. Thereafter sandstone steps sydney 's blended with concrete so that you can manufacture ornamental bricks and round stones. These reconstituted bricks are used for paving avenues too. Sandstone is a type of selection for making stones because it really is trendy and radiates a vintage appearance. It is great for both commercial too as residential structures. In addition to this, it really is hard and resistant against corrosion, acid rains or harsh climatic conditions therefore most builders use sandstone blocks like a flagstone material for building patios, walls or put on the extender in a very tile like format for covering up garden grounds, bathroom floors and kitchen countertops. This material is proof against slips and spills. Moreover, it really is also used being a finishing material for other blocks because of its rough textures.
