the room is nearly pitch black, the only light coming from the television eight feet away from the couch you’re laying on. dream wanted tonight’s movie night to be immersive, but he let you pick the movie. his reaction was unreadable when you selected the maze runner of all movies. dream couldn’t resist your bright smile when you looked at him.

dream lays behind you, between the couch cushions and your bundled body. you’re wrapped in a blanket while dream wears a hoodie, playing with the drawstrings occasionally with his free hand. his arm is draped over your body, hand reaching to yours.

what dream didn’t expect from the movie night date was your commentary. occasionally, when certain characters would appear on screen, you coyly whisper “smash” in response. as the movie progresses, dream’s reactions become more apparent. after dylan o’brien leaves the screen, you feel dream’s body relax. you turn your body to face your boyfriend (albeit awkwardly in your position). “why are you so tense? nothing serious has happened yet.”

dream plays his mood off. “it’s nothing, i’m just trying to get comfortable.”

you narrow your eyes, reading his face in the darkness. you look away briefly when you hear thomas asking yet another question, which causes dream to tense again. you playfully gasp, “you’re jealous!”

dismissively, he replies, “yeah right, you wish. i’m not jealous.” in the movie light, you can see his face growing red.

“you’re such a liar! i know you can’t lie to me.” dream pulls the drawstrings of his hood to cover his face. “dream…” you draw out the last syllables of his name, holding his hands that are clutching the strings. “i’m only messing with you, baby. you’re my boyfriend.” 

you pull the hood open to look at his face, placing the palms of your hands on his hot cheeks. “you’re the only person i’m smashing.” dream scoffs, though you can tell you boosted his ego (as if he needed it). “though, i would leave you for dylan o’brien given the chance.”

dream pushes your body off of him, sitting up on the other side of the couch. “i’m kidding!” under your breath, you say “sort of.” dream doesn’t react. “love, please.” you crawl onto dream’s lap, holding his red cheeks in your hands again, forcing him to look at you. with his face slightly squished, you smile. “i’m dating you. i love you.”

dream breathes out harshly from his nose. “more than dylan o’brien?”

you sigh dramatically and kiss him on the nose, causing him to smile. “sometimes.” you giggle devilishly.

“oh, come on.” he sets you down on the couch, head on the crumpled blanket. dream hovers over you, legs fitting between yours like a solved puzzle and hands beside your face. your expression drops at the sudden intimacy. “only i have this effect on you.” dream’s smirk reappears on his face.

you quickly glance at the tv screen. “oh, look! thomas and minho are back in the maze!” you turn your body, messing with dream and making him sigh. 

he returns to his previous position, laying behind you and holding you to his body. “way to ruin the moment.”

you lift his hand to your face, kissing the back of it. “i love you, my favorite boy.”

you can’t see it, but dream’s face is red once again. he presses a kiss to the back of your head and squeezes your hand in response.

Alola VA starts Apr28, with the second part added mid-May. (So I guess no UB Pairs or Gladion/Elio/Selene Sygna Suits. That's unfortunate. Complaints aside, since Friday is Roy's debut in Horizons, I'll probably talk about the new villain arc Saturday.) They say only a few Chapters left, but I'm hoping for a good number of Chapters between Rose being added and the conclusion. (Edit, I stg I can't type to save my life.)

The key to boosting your score is having a team comprised of that type. Some rules will be set to increase your score, and then the difficulty will increase dramatically as you try to get higher scores.

(Different Anon. I hope you won't mind this "rang". I'd like to know other players's, like you, opinions) I don't get why pokémon masters keeps A - giving the same characters alts instead of adding new characters (some gym leaders are still missing, that's concerning) and B - giving characters pokémon that have strictly nothing do with them/aren't their main. Why does Acerola have Tapu Bulu ? Why does Rosa have Shaymin ? Why did they give Klefki to Shauna instead of Wikstrom or Morgan ?

i mean i think the obvious answer is money — they're giving alts to popular characters like steven or cynthia (who afaik are the two characters with the most alts) bc they're well-known characters that people like so people are more likely to spend money to get additional pulls for them. i know they run surveys sometimes and i'm sure they get a lot of replies where people ask for these characters in general. it's still a gacha, unfortunately it needs "whales" to run smoothly and if you know the people who actually spend money on the game are most likely to spend it on certain characters it makes sense to focus on them. i think that might be why those pairs tend to be very good gameplay-wise as well (i remember deoxys steven being an example) that way you get both people who favor popular characters and people who care about being good at the game.

i'm honestly not sure how they pick new characters to add tho. sometimes it makes sense (adding new kalos characters during the kalos villain arc) and sometimes it feels completely random. i assume bc they know there'll always be new characters waiting to be added they aren't in a rush to pick new ones. i do wish we'd get eusine soon tho😔

as for why some characters get pokémons that seem unrelated to them, i'm not 100% sure. i think gacha rules also play a role; all the characters you mentioned are cutesy girls that the expected audience are going to enjoy. it's kinda like how all the vday events center around the girl protagonists or other young girl characters. i'm sad to say typical otaku cishet men are probably more likely to pull for shauna than wikstrom so she's a safer bet. i was genuinely surprised that she got an alt so quickly tho ? especially as (outside of the kalos arc) it's not like there's anything that would make them think she in particular would be popular. like when they gave the subway masters alts really quickly the PLA hype was in full swing so at least that made sense. i genuinely don't know about that one.

Now that we have a new CS run and the Eevee eggmon event is done, I can finally do this.  Eevus Sweepus.

General Overview The biggest impediment to my success was honestly not having Tina.  If I had another support, I think we would've had a generally easier time.  But I didn't, so oops.  Then again, there are clearly other issues.  Not every Eevee team gets along so well, and one choice was...bad.  I'm not gonna front, it was bad and I shouldn't have done it.  But oh well.

Fire, Electric, and Psychic didn't get to participate this run, at least as offensive types.  Kris is just unfortunate to use in general, so off-type is not happening in any way without something like NC Blue backing her.  And that's breaking the Eevee rules.  I'd say I want another Jolteon, but considering the logical outcomes of such a wish are Volkner or Chase, I rescind any such desires forever.  Fire...it's not that Lucas couldn't do it, it's that Triple Flareon is bad.  Also the Tina thing.  Psychic has some potential, and maybe one day we'll get like...Sabrina with a Support Espeon or something to really round out that combo.  But in absence of that, this is the best we've got.  And this was with only two of their eight types available, so thank god there's some off-type potential.

Vs. Kahili Ripping the band-aid off immediately, we have Ice.  Ice is the worst possible one, because Irida has zero use of eggmon Glaceon.  Literally none, she sets her own Ice Zone, and is too reliant on Hail to do it any other way.  I brought Leaf for some stalling, trying to roll some lucky flinches.  I think it's safe to say, the only reason any of us are alive is because of the disruption.  Leaf hit some good flinches, and even Glaceon got in on this, setting up our second sync with a clutch freeze on center.  I mean sure, Irida dropped the crit and we miraculously survived sync, but it was really cool that you did that, Glaceon.

Vs. Hala It took an embarrassing amount of time for me to remember that SS Erika existed.  I tried stupid hard to make Adaman work, and he just was not doing it.  Turns out, it's because I had him on Tank grid, forgetting his offenses, and was trying my damnedest to run Lucas for Atk drops to keep us alive through sync, to zero success.  When I finally did remember Erika, we shit-stomped the fight.  So that one's on me.  I forgot the OG.

Vs. Olivia This is perhaps the greatest accomplishment Valerie will ever know, and it is 100% cheating.  Permanent Field Effects saved her ass beyond any doubt.  If not for that, this would be impossible.  But since we did have it, Valerie kicked ass.  See, Penny has every trait Valerie could ever want, and perhaps most significant of all of them is stealing all of Olivia's buffs.  She's really dangerous, bringing up a lot of stats through Ancientpower Swag Bag and boosting defenses per action.  Penny can just steal all of it pre-sync and laugh a bit.  Valerie herself did surprisingly okay.  The sync isn't super impressive, but on HP parameters, we won this fight because Olivia's DPS couldn't break her.  Vigilance tanking Draining Kiss kept Valerie alive, and the Rebuff + Zone combo meant recovering like 500HP per attack, which was well above what Olivia could do in response.  A third sync would've killed, but again, the DPS pressure from Smart Cookie/HP Advantage 8 and Draining Kiss was tremendous.  I'm so proud of this one.

Vs. Acerola Finally, the on-types, we can-oh god I forgot to shift to the on-type parameters of fuck oh god.  Turns out it's alright, Elio's tank set is pretty commendable.  Selene herself as a great flinch rate, and even egg Umbreon's got a nice 30%.  Selene's first sync kinda sucked, but I'm convinced she just missed the crit.  No was way is that little with Zone active.  Crunch dealt a solid 7k, and second sync was like 65k.  Oh, worth noting: thank god for Critical Eye.  With Elio, she can cap her crit rate in one use of his TM, which is much more reliable.

Vs. Kukui Elaine is an excellent Support for any of these Eevee clears, packing pretty much everything they could want into one kit.  Notably, the capped crit in one TM is tremendous for pairs like Lyra, who just don't otherwise have it at all.  Eevee Lyra has good spread damage with ensured accuracy, so this felt like the safest solution.  Her sync dealt 111k.  Very proud of her.

Final Thoughts I don't know that I'd do this again!  Like, it's achievable, and believe it or not...everyone was first try.  Which still staggers me.  But I also have to acknowledge, it was first try because Glaceon kept rolling 10%s, and Selene never missed a flinch, and we hit the quad queues where we needed them to be, etc etc etc.  Alola is also a kind of midpoint in difficulty; harder than Kanto, Johto, and Unova, but nowhere near the ferocity of Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kalos.  I don't think these teams would win as easily there.  To say nothing of issues of support.  Like okay, what flexibility do these teams actually have?  There's like none.  There aren't even enough supports, Elio had to stand in.  Bad matchups eviscerate these teams something fierce.

But.  It is achievable.  And I am sated knowing it can be done.  Godspeed, you funky little fox babies.

Since it’s getting colder where I live, I decided to write some fall headcanons for my two favorite Pokemon men lol

Fluffy Fall Headcanons

Kabu

Kabu grew up in Hoenn, where the climate was mostly tropical and humid all year round. He didn't really experience fall until he moved to Motostoke, but he quickly came to love Galarian fall traditions

Kabu will absolutely take you to the Applin Orchards and pick fruit with you

Holds your hand whenever possible in the Orchards and will pick you up by the waist to give you a boost if you want to get juuust a little higher to get that one Fancy Apple...

He doesn't like eating sweet food that much himself, but if you enjoy pies or fruit tarts, he'll bake some for you (or with you, if you wanna help!). Cooking is more his specialty, but he's a darn good baker, too!

Loves having campfires in the Wild Area on crisp nights. Will have some quiet nights with just you and your Pokemon, but also 100% invites his Gym Trainers to come some nights, and the kids in Motostoke and the Gym Challenge he's mentored on other nights, and the Gym Leaders and Leon on other nights...

You'd be lying if you said it didn't make your heart swell to see how many people he had a positive impact on, though, and you feel more than a little proud to be the person a man like Kabu has chosen to keep by his side

On nights when you're not having fires, Kabu loves using the chilly weather as an excuse to get under blankets and snuggle up close to you in the evenings. He does this literally as often as possible, holding you close by your waist or spooning you while you watch TV together. He's really warm, and the way he holds you is so gentle and reassuring that sometimes you just fall asleep in his arms

Nanu

Living in Alola, things don't get cold. Ever. They just get...a little less hot. But that doesn't mean there aren't ways to celebrate fall!

All the Kahunas take place in the traditional Alola Festivals across the islands, which are usually held in early fall during Alola Week. Nanu acts begrudging about going, but you spot him having a genuinely good time on more than one occasion.

There's traditional dances, singing, storytelling, parades, and, in the evening, big communal bonfires, often on the beaches. Nanu's expected to be at each major event

He spends most of the week attending events with Acerola holding onto one of his hands and, on his other hand, your fingers interlaced with his. Sometimes, Ace likes to wedge her way in between the two of you, though, to hold both your hands - not that you mind that, either!

Towards the end of the week, he's expected to give a demonstration of his Z-Power with the other Kahunas. He's done this for years and years now, so he swears he's not nervous about it anymore

You still see him find your face in the crowd when he's up, and you could swear you see him become less stiff when you flash him a smile and a thumbs up

He finds you and Ace afterwards almost immediately, and Ace tells him he's super cool, to which he pats her head but rolls his eyes with a 'yeah, yeah'

But when you tell him later that he really is pretty cool, though, with that Z-Power move and being Kahuna and all...the way his eyes widen in surprise for a moment before he nuzzles into your neck with a smile on his lips makes your heart melt

Yearly Champion Calendars

Every Region has one, with the exception of Kanto and Alola before/after Ash came along, and ofc they sold all the other Champion themed ones.

So it kinda goes like this: if there is no new champion that joins the rank that year, the next year calendars would show the champions in various outfits alongside their main team (January, as to welcome the new year strong) and the rest of the months would be solo with a member of their team or a Pokémon they have regardless.

That is, until Ash comes along. Now when a knew champion joins them they go to that region to take their photos there. (January would be all the Champions and their main Pokémon together while the newly made Champion holds up their trophy or a sign their in the Hall of Fame) Drake opted not to have a calendar specifically for him since the Orange Island is still mostly an expansion off of Kanto. But when Ash takes his place he’s 100% on fucking board for this, yes he wants pictures, yes he’s so willing to travel back to the Orange island every year, yes he knows he’s making things a lot more complicated but his mom made a comment on how cute it would be and he refuses to budge not matter how much Lance and the other officials beg and try and wheedle their way out of the event.

But then Ash gets a notification from Lance because he’s kinda like the head of all the Regional Leagues since he’s been Champion the longest. And the email basically states that they did a poll and everyone wants to see their Champions in Alola since the Region had never really gotten it’s full recognition of being a separate Region. the Kahunas would start getting their own calendars if they wanted (Suprise, Suprise. Olivia is the only one to really show up in her photos while Hala just asks his to be more about his Pokémon then him. Nanu’s a turd and opted not having one until Ash and Acerola pleaded him to) but the main point of the whole shoot was to see their Champions relaxed and actually have fun with their Pokémon companions. So Ash gets pulled out of class for a week with many apologies by the group of photographers because this was the only week everyone wasn’t normally swamped by their work load. And he meets up with every to go over what their going to do for their respective Region.

There was many complications that happened; Ash’s Charzard got sick so he had asked Mewtwo’s Charzard clone if he was willing to be in Ash’s Charzards place (thankfully the fire lizard was okay with it), Lance got sick halfway through the week, Cynthia’s Garchomp wouldn’t come out of its sand nest it built on the beach, Alder had drenched all his outfits in sweat because he was used to Unovas cold and not Alola’s blazing heat, Wallace criticized all his outfits because the weren’t ‘him’ enough, Alain was just a general pain because that man doesn’t fucking smile as much so actually being happy then he should be and he wouldn’t smile for the fucking Camera, and Leon argues multiple times with the photographers that he should have adds on his clothes and such on.

Luckily the Photographers left the calander ideas up to the Kahunas for their own because either it was because the Photographers didn’t really know the tradition’s surrounding Alola or because their fucking done with the Champions and their about to kill Leon and Wallace if the two didn’t stop their pouting and whining.

But funnily enough in the end Ash’s calendar was sold the most between all Regions combined because his Calender showed him having a fun time with his multitude of Alolan and Orange Island pokemon (except Lapras who is currently in mating season/they could find her in time for the photos)

To start things off, this verse was a spur of the moment type thing when I had used it on Otoya’s original blog to RP with a friend’s Silver (Part Game, but mostly Pkmn Special interpretation). He basically the only one with some info to him. Otherwise, only teams and where the characters are from is available at the moment.

An important note: the tag used for this verse is the same one I use for the Pokemon Verse on my B-Project Multimuse Blog. Meaning both the blogs and respective Pokemon Verses are connected to each other. As information from their verse will be showing up in this one. Kira’s Pokemon Verse is also connected to this despite using a different tag.

ALSO, muses won’t be their canon ages AT ALL for this verse. Ages will greatly vary to some degree.

Verse Notes

With an exception to a few, not all of the muses involved in this verse will retain their idol status. As for who is what in this verse here a short rundown.

Tokiya, Cecil, and Camus are idols signed on with Daikoku Production and Brave Entertainment respectively.

Van and Ren are both models and actors signed on with Brave Entertainment. Both of them tend to get along at times at other times Van is just getting on Ren’s nerves. Ironically both of them participate in Pokemon Contests.

Otoya is a Musician he signed on with mysterious agency many tend to forget the name of. He enjoys Pokemon Battles as much as his Pokemon. He on a journey to find someone, but who?

Nagi is a Famous Musician known throughout at two regions his home region and Kalos. He doesn’t see himself as much as a battler but his Pokemon despite their cuteness can pack a punch.

Eiji is a simple florist living in Floaroma Town and slowly becoming known for his beautiful flower arrangements.

Ryuya, Yamato, and Syo are well known big shots in the Pokeathlon World. When their names are mention they immediately draw in a crowd. The three specialize in using Fighting Type Pokemon and Fighting Type moves.

Shion is a Psychic living a peaceful life. There nothing remotely special about them aside from being able to communicate with the dead.

Haruka is a Pokemon Coordinator known for her cuteness and charm. Which she doesn’t get as she and her Pokemon simply participate in contests for fun not for the fame and glory.

Home Town: Viridian City, Kanto

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Musician

Pokemon Team: Vulpix (Nickname: Kotomi), Arcanine (Nickname: Crimson), Zorua (Nickname: Mitsui), Swellow (Nickname: Dante), and Dedenne (Nickname: DeeDee)

Background: Otoya was kidnapped from the orphanage at a young age by a Mask of Ice cohort. Luckily he was saved by a young Silver who had taken his place. Left and forgotten in Viridian Forest Otoya had trouble finding his way back, but ended up in Pewter City instead. As he grew older and started his own journey he searched high and low for his friend. Somewhere along the way he became a musician and signed on with an agency hoping his music would reach his friend somehow.

Notes: Kotomi and Shining aren’t Otoya’s parents in this verse. His parents are actually unknown and it a mystery to why he was left in the care of an orphanage in Viridian City.

Home Town: Castelia City, Unova

Age: 21

Trainer Class: Idol

Pokemon Team: Empoleon (nickname: Arthur), Dewgong, Frillish, Cinccino, and Ivysaur

Background: His father had walked out on him and his mother at a very age. Though, he was too young at the time to even retain any memories of him so he was okay with this. His mother supported his dream and encouraged him to reach for the stars when he told her he wanted to become an idol. After much struggling and dealing with those who didn’t want him to succeed. Tokiya debuted with Daikoku Production under the alias HAYATO. An alias he had chosen for himself.

Note: He had received Empoleon as a Piplup when he was five as a birthday present from his mom. The only difference between Tokiya and his appearance as HAYATO is that he styles his bangs to the right instead of the left.

Home Town: Lumiose City, Kalos

Age: 26

Trainer Class: Actor

Pokemon Team: Ninetales (Nickname: Sofia), Rapidash, Delphox, Baile Oricorio, and Milotic

Background: The youngest of three children, Ren grew up being loved by his mother, Renge, who love and encouraged him to follow his dreams. He dreamed of becoming a model just like his mother seeing how much she loved and enjoyed it. His father not exactly so amused with this as he wanted Ren to take a more active role in the family business. Which Ren showed absolutely no interest in. Ren debuted as model when he was twelve and eventually picked up acting and debuted once again when he was fifteen or so.

Note: Vulpix was the first Pokemon he received when he was young from his mother as a child. Vulpix was still in her egg when he received her and she had hatched on his birthday. In this verse the Jinguji just doesn’t deal with finances but also owns a number of hotel chains throughout different regions. The Enjouji’s (Renge’s family) owns a number of casinos and resorts.

Home Town: Goldenrod City, Johto

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Pokémon Ranger

Pokemon Team: Hitmontop, Stufful, Machoke, Medicam, Lucario, and Monferno

Background:  Once upon a time Syo had dreamed about becoming a Pokemon Ranger. That had instantly changed the moment he had seen Ryuya and Yamato competing in the Pokeathlon on TV. He had become quite mesmerized by their manliness and the strength of their Pokemon that his dream had changed. Wanting to compete against and and stand on the same stage as them. He worked effortless to achieve that dream and started by becoming a trainer and taking on the gym leaders and the Elite Four of his home region before moving on elsewhere.

Notes: For this verse Syo was not born with a (mysterious) heart condition and is 100% healthy.

Home Town: Malie City, Ula’ula Island, Alola

Age: 18

Trainer Class: Idol

Pokemon Team: Persian, Glameow, Liepard, Comfey, and Floette

Background: Cecil is a descendant from the Alolan Royal Family that was long ago destroyed. Though, not many are aware of this as people are only aware of Acerola being the last remaining descendant of the Royal Family. Cecil himself isn’t even aware of this fact. The Aijima’s practiced magic and Cecil had taken to it rather quickly as a child surprising his parents. He was quite skilled and a certain mastery over magic using music.

Note: A Meowth coming from the Kanto Region was gifted to him a kind elderly woman he had helped find her way around Malie City. 

Home Town: Nimbasa City, Unova

Age: 17

Trainer Class: Musician

Pokemon Team: Jigglypuff, Dedenne, Salazzle, Puplup, Cherrim, and Beautifly

Background: Nagi is a famous musician known for the music he makes on the viola. He had debuted at a young age much to his parents’ dismay. They wanted him to be able to experience the wonders and magic of being a child. After seeing how happy Nagi was they relented and let their baby dazzle the world with his music and most importantly cuteness. Nagi is thankful that his parents had allowed him to do so and thanks them every chance he get.

Notes: Nagi had bonded quickly with Jigglypuff when she was a lost Igglybuff that had wandered into the Mikado’s property one day. Nagi tends to participate in some Pokemon Contests when he has the time. Only really participating the Cute category more than anything else. On the off chance he might do the Cool category.

Home Town: Floaroma Town, Sinnoh

Age: 21

Trainer Class: Gardener

Pokemon Team: Shaymin, Ivysaur, Ludicolo, Roserade, Troupius, and Leafeon

Background: A florists living in Floaroma Town, Eiji has started to gain some recognition for the beautiful flower arrangements he creates for his customers. He is kind-hearted and caring for his friends family, but that switch can instantly be flipped if you threaten anyone close to him. From time to time Eiji does travel about the Sinnoh Region and sometimes to other regions researching different types of plants and flowers. Occasionally sending some flowers back home to his mother and wine to his dad. 

Notes: Eiji’s parents are Raging and Katsumi Otori. Eiichi become a famous idol in a different region since leaving home eight years ago.

Home Town: Santalune City, Kalos

Age: 27

Trainer Class: Actor

Pokemon Team: Sylveon, Houndoom, Cinccino, Audino, Wigglytuff, and Altaria

Background: His straight forward and charming personality easily made Van a hit with the ladies (and guys) putting it to use he had become a model at the age of eleven. Thanks to his mother who was also in that line of work and trained (torture according to Van) him. On top of that he pulled double-duty when he debuted as an actor at the age of seventeen. He would have debuted earlier, but it took some convincing from his boss to do so. Van considers himself to be a lover and not a fighter, which is something he constantly jokes about when he really both.

Notes: Van is aware of how protective his Sylveon is of him and find it amusing, as she tend to act like a tsundere when he present. When he leaves the room the Sylveon typically tends to kick the ass of those who dare insult Van in her presence. Then proceeds to pull the innocent act when he returns. Ironically or not, his Houndoom is the only male Pokemon on his team.

Background: Yamato is a trainer with a very competitive spirit and is always rearing to go with way too much energy that can easily tire someone out if they’re not use to it. Yamato and his elder brother Ryuya form a sort of duo when it come to competing in Pokéathlon when they’re individual events and not team events. It whatever to Yamato though. He prefers battles of the Battle Royal Dome. Though, half the time he has to be dragged away by Ryuya when he get too carried away.

Notes: Yamato had taken the Island Challenge way before Professor Kukui had Alola’s Pokemon League established. He had taken the Island Challenge when he was twelve. Yamato’s overall relationship with Ryuya is leagues better than in canon. He doesn’t get into constant arguments with him. When not participating in battles at the Battle Royale Dome or Pokémon Triathlon in the Johto Region. Yamato persists in his duty as a Pokémon Ranger. Though, he is one of few Rangers in the Alola Region so his work is cut out for him. Yamato has two younger brothers after him those brothers being Touma and Makato.

Pokemon Team: Espeon (Nickname: Hecate), Cleffa, Starmie, Espurr, and Lunatone

Background: Shion was born a gifted psychic able to communicate with the decease and levitate items (and on occasion people though that’s pretty rare). Though, their abilities tend to take a lot out of them and will fall asleep soon after. Shion left home at the age of fifteen, when they could have left earlier than that. Due to their parents’ protectiveness of them Shion wasn’t able to start like the other kids their age.

Notes: Eevee was Shion’s first Pokémon they nicknamed Hecate. Espurr was a gift from their Uncle when he had gone to the Kalos Region on a business trip. The Espurr had reminded their uncle of them and thus caught the Pokémon and brought it back.

Home Town: Snowpoint City, Sinnoh

Age: 23

Trainer Class: Idol

Pokemon Team: Alolan Ninetales (Nickname: Victoria), Nidoqueen, Dewgong, Primarina (Nickname: Anastasia), Altaria (Nickname: Nephele), and Dragonair

Background: Camus is a descendant of AZ. A thousand years ago his family had relocated from the Kalos Region to the Sinnoh Region hoping for a new start. They had relocated to Snowpoint City instantly drawn to its beauty and cold weather and settled there for generations to come.

Notes: Among those in his family, Camus is the only one who was born with the ability to use magic. It taken him time and patience to polish and perfect his magic. Camus had befriended an Alolan Vuplix when his family had gone on vacation to Alola region. he bestowed the nickname Victoria upon the Alolan Vulpix.  Somewhere along the line Camus had shown interest in becoming an idol, but how and when that happened is still a mystery even to his family. His Pokémon know how it started though.

Pokemon Team: Primeape, Medicham, Infernape, Hakamo-o, and Chatot

Background: Ryuya is the oldest of four children and look after all of them when their parents were busy with their respective careers. To a point he basically raised all of them with Yamato’s help. Who he has a great relationship with despite the ridiculous arguments they get into from time to time. It took some persuasion from Yamato that he could take care of Touma and Makoto for Ryuya to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor. It literally took Yamato kicking his ass for him to take that finally leap. Ryuya debuted when he was twenty-two and continues to put out A+++ material for the movies and dramas he is cast in. He is greatly known for his work in the Prince of Fighter series.

Notes: Ryuya participates in Pokéathlons along side Yamato from time to time. Both of them becoming a duo of sorts when appearing together. He typically has to drag Yamato out of the Battle Royale Dome when the younger goes overboard with things.

Pokemon Team: Jigglypuff, Sylveon, Beautifly, Wartortle, Taillow, and Meloetta

Background: Haruka grew up around Pokémon Contests for a majority of her life. Her interests in it had caught the attention of her mother who immediately took her bubbly daughter under her wing and trained her. Haruka took to it like a Goldeen to water and was able to come up with amazing combinations at a young age. Haruka was able to start her own journey at the age of twelve. Somewhere along the way she developed a talent for composing music and uses it in Pokémon Contests when competing. Playing the pieces she composes on a flute.

Notes: Jigglypuff was the first Pokémon Haruka had ever befriended when she was five. Different agencies have tried to hire Haruka as a composer, but have failed in the process in doing so. So far the only one who have come close have been Daikoku Product and Brave Entertainment. Haruka prefers the great outdoors compared to being cooped up inside. Please, don’t let her climb trees. She will only get stuck in them and wait for someone to help her down. Meloetta has been an interesting addition to her party. When traveling in the Unova Region, she had come across the injured Meloetta and helped it back to health over the course of a few days. Meloetta had taken an interest in Haruka and immediately joined her party. Haruka been stuck with the Mythical Pokémon ever since.

Ula'Ula Island, the island to discover change Current Kahuna: Nanu Kapule Former Kahuna: Hewa Kama Guardian Deity: Tapu Bulu Capital: Malie City Main Export: Meowths, Mimikyus, Bruxish, Bamboo Main Import: Fruit, Ranch produce, Fish -Ula'Ula Island has very unpredictable weather so the only things capable of growing here are people and bamboo. Because of this they depend on trade with the other islands. As such the citizens have learned not to depend on their antisocial kahunas when it comes to trades. Probably because Nanu manages to ruffle Olivia's panties when they get around each other and Akala has a lot of goods to give -The Abandoned Megamart Tapu Bulu destroyed actually had a lot of living things in it at the time of destruction. Which might be why its full of Ghost Pokemon. Totem Mimikyu was there too but was just a little girl's pet at the time and while glad to recall the incident it seems to cause it a lot of pain to remember. -Tapu Village also a site of Tapu Bulu's touchy self had a decent amount of people there including Nanu's predecessor. He did manage to escape with Tapu Bulu on his heels but forever regretted angering the guardian. People who still live in Tapu Village will tell of the kahuna's cowardice and watching as Tapu Bulu exacted rightful justice on the land. -Malie City was attacked many years ago by a rogue Celesteela. Acerola's parents, Plumeria's father and the former kahuna were all killed in the attack. Since then the city enforces a strict police system and in the event of a UB emerging being an able bodied trainer is pretty much like getting drafted. Immediately. -Hokulani Observatory functions not only as an observatory but also a weather station of sorts. It is the only place in Alola that can 90% accurately predict the weather. Molayne manages the station with Sophocles's help and gets really upset if a prediction is wrong and someone gets hurt. Especially during tropical storm season. ----------------------- Ula'Ula has the best breeding facilities for Meowth, Mimikyu, Bruxish and Pancham Meowth variants include: standard, toy, competition and stunted. --Standard Meowths domesticated or wild will usually be the ones exported to the other islands' pet shops. They have plain, average coats and the typical Meowth temperament. They're often given to young children to teach them how to care for Pokemon before they receive their trainer's license --Toy Meowths are often bred different for a variety of desired traits. Floppy ears, hypoallergenic coat, munchkin limbs or even a teacup size. Like most toy variations, its illegal to battle them and they are often stolen --Competition Meowths like the Litten and Stufful line are extremely hard to get a license for and own. Their temperament becomes unpredictable and vicious from the breeding. The only competition Persian there is that is fairly docile is Nanu's and that's a hard maybe. --Stunted Meowths are ones with less desirable physical traits brought out by bad breeding and a lot of it. Bob tails, no tails or even a curled tail. There was a recent hype with stunted Meowths that had snaggle teeth and dual colored noses or eyes but the hype lead to more bad breeding where the health problems started coming up. Mimikyu variants include: standard, show, toy and competition --Standard Mimikyu are wild-ish. Because they have a desire to be around others and have friends their temperaments are sweet. So finding one in the home that just got stuck or wanted to be your friend is common --Show Mimikyu are by far the most stolen of all variations. These Mimikyu are bred and trained to change their disguise to multiple Pokemon. It is recommended despite their small size and very sweet, trusting temperament, you teach them to resist being taken. --Toy Mimikyu are bred to come in several sizes usually in comparison to plushies. The tiny ones are small enough to fit in a pocket or even be placed in a baby's crib to watch them. The biggest ones enjoy being laid on and even encourage it by smushing their trainer against their side --Competition Mimikyu like Wishiwashi are very easy to obtain and train. They stay around the standard size but often have high speed, special attack or special defense. Still retaining the natural Mimikyu sweetness, they're easy to retire Bruxish variants include: standard and competition --Standard Bruxish are all bred and released to the wild. Since they're uncommon its a bid to restore their population and getting one requires a license. They have a tiny bit of a temperament issue but nothing you can't work around by keeping them in their own tank --Competition Bruxish are illegal. 100% illegal. The only way to get one is to violate the license agreement and breed one outside the facility's regulations. Competition Bruxish though bred to fight are still fragile and will die in competitions and underground battles. ------------------------------------------- Malie City -Most of the population is here. The city is most active at night and pretty slow during the day. The main draw is the clothing shops and restaurants along with the library -There's a memorial to everyone who was killed by Celesteela here and once in a while you can see Tapu Bulu in front of it. No one bothers him when he's there and on closer inspection some say he's crying over how many people died because he couldn't protect them Hokulani Observatory -Sophocles lives here and manages the observatory when Molayne is at home. He gives late night weather reports when he can't sleep and streams Minior shows. Sometimes Acerola visits him and brings food too -The Minior shows make the Observatory a really popular date spot as well Secluded Shore -The Bruxish sanctuary is here and the certified lifeguard Bruxish are trained here too. -At one point a certain gang... Had a beach day here... A nude beach day. Nanu refused to deal with it and told everyone who complained they'd go away soon Tapu Village -Everyone who survived Tapu Bulu's rage and Celesteela's initial emergence live here. They are all extremely devout at this point and speaking ill of the tapu here will get you ran out -Plumeria's mother lives here now and can recall in full awesome technicolor the attack, the destruction and everything in between Aether House -A newer building but one that Wicke was 100% behind the building of. Acerola was brought here as a baby when it was still a run down orphanage. Plumeria was also raised here after her dad died and her mother was unable to care for her. However she left before it was rebuilt by Aether Ula'Ula Meadow -Plumeria uses the area around the meadow for her trial grounds. Her pet Wimpod keeps it raining during the trial and as such the meadow's flowers are always healthy. Po Town -Very recently it stopped raining for some reason... Guzma and Plumeria live here after renovating the entirety of the town. It still operates to take in kids too old to stay at the Aether House. -There are Wimpods everywhere Mount Lanakila -The Pokemon League and Bro's house are here. He has a very big house very easily manor size and often Hala, Olivia, Acerola and Kahili stay here if challengers are on the way. -The Pokemon Center here has the best medical care among the islands and as such its the biggest. Might be because the Pokemon League is extremely physically demanding or the climb to get there is --------------------------------------- Malie Day of Rememberance -A day where everyone goes to the memorial and leaves flowers. Sometimes Nanu says a few words but its mostly quiet and somber. Tapu Bulu will show up too and just sit there Minior Shower -A night predicted by Molayne and Sophocles where the biggest cluster of Minior break apart and fall to the islands. Pretty romantic and interesting to see

We stopped by California Pizza Kitchen inside the King of Prussia Mall to use our #MakeItMontco promotional free appetizer or free dessert. CPK offers diners a large variety on their menu including signature hand-tossed pizzas, seasonally-inspired specials, hand-shaken cocktails and delicious desserts. We started off with the Buffalo Cauliflower and Barbecue Chicken Pizza, a favorite since the restaurant first opened in Beverly Hills in 1985.

Next on our visit was a brewery tour and tasting at King of Prussia’s only craft brewery, Workhorse Brewing Company located at 250 King Manor Drive. With options for both indoor and outdoor seating, we enjoyed lasting local favorites including hand-crafting award-winning lagers, IPAs and more. Workhorse offers something to both the beer geek and craft novice; drinkable, yet nuanced, well-made beers by Brew Master Neil Olewine.

We enjoyed a private tour led by Co-Owner Dan Hershberg which was informative and fun. It is truly a special experience to enjoy craft beers brewed on site. The Standard tour is 30 minutes and includes one full-sized draft pour in the $10 price (paid upon arrival at the brewery). This guided journey will show you the full scope of our 70,000 square foot operation and allows for plenty of Q&A. The VIP tour is led by Workhorse CEO and Co-Founder Dan Hershberg, giving guests an opportunity for a more in-depth experience, including details on the origin story. Food Trucks make a special appearance at Workhorse weekly Thursday-Sunday and guests may also bring their own food. Luckily a delicious pairing with Workhorse beers isn’t a challenge since the beer portfolio is a balance between lagers and ales, providing a range of beers that include, crisp, malt-driven lagers all the way to dank, resinous IPAs. They specialize in traditional styles, while still offering rotating seasonal releases.

Sunday morning we got an early start fueled by breakfast with Vitality Bowls in the King of Prussia Town Center. This health focused fast casual spot specializes in making açaí bowls topped with organic granola (gluten free available) and a selection of superfood ingredients. An açaí (ah-sigh-ee) bowl is a nutritional packed with the Amazon’s antioxidant-rich organic açaí berry and super-fruits pitaya, graviola and acerola are offered as a base for bowls as well.

Roy Gilad and Tara Gilad, founded Vitality Bowls in 2011 in San Ramon, California. The duo started the concept together as a result of discovering their daughter’s severe food allergies and wanting to find healthy, safe food alternatives. All items on the menu are made fresh to order and in a kitchen designed to avoid cross contamination of common food allergens. Since franchising in 2014, the brand has seen significant growth with more than 100 cafes open and in development.

After hitting the King of Prussia Town Center for some shopping we built up an appetite for a bigger meal. We stopped by Paladar Kitchen & Rum Bar for brunch featuring $3 Mimosas! Paladar Latin Kitchen is conveniently located in the King of Prussia Town Center. This restaurant offers diners Latin American cuisine inspired by Central & South America, Cuba and the Latin Caribbean.

  Starting back in 2007, the restaurant originated in Cleveland, Ohio. Soon they saw more and more guests coming back to enjoy Paladar’s bold flavors and vibrant cultures of Latin America without leaving their comfort zones. The menu is designed to be extremely family-friendly and approachable menu featuring signature dishes like freshly prepared guacamole, slow roasted and grilled meats, fresh seafood and homemade salsas.

We kicked off brunch with Paladar Mimosas in varieties of Pomegranate-Ginger, Grapefruit or Traditional Orange. The rhythm of Latin Music playing through both the indoor and outdoor seating at the restaurant sets the tone for the unique rum bar offering fresh muddled Mojitos, over 75 selections of rum and an approachable and exciting wine list. We tried a rum flight, but our favroite drink of the day was the Jalapeno Paloma made with El Jimador Silver Tequila, jalapeños, grapefruit juice, simple syrup, and a salt rim.

Our server suggested some of the more popular brunch dishes include: Maple Glazed Pulled Pork with fried eggs, yucca cake, and jalapeños; Chipotle Honey Fried Chicken with fried eggs, chipotle honey glaze, yucca cake, and pico de gallo; Scrambled Egg & Chorizo Soft Tacos with pickled jalapenos, chihuahua cheese, cabbage, and aji verde sauce; or the Cripy Duck Confit Hash with fried eggs, sweet potatoes, plantain and yucca spaetzle with aji verde.

the theoretical week or so that was planned for your trip to karl’s was extended. with every passing saturday, you’d push back your plans to purchase a plane ticket and stay another week at karl’s. although he never said it, karl didn’t want you to leave.

you still stream, just in karl’s guest room (and sometimes his room). you’re always on karl’s streams, no matter the subject. the internet deemed you and karl attached at the hip, confirmed by sightings in stores, cafes, and the park. many fans speculate that there’s more than friendship between you and karl, but you never confirmed anything. you never denied it either—you hoped that since karl never denied the rumors, there was a chance for more than a friendship.

you jump backwards onto the guest bed—basically your bed at this point—and pull out your phone to scroll through twitter. you had just finished a stream after raiding karl’s alt stream, so your timeline is scattered with screenshots and commentary. you like some of the kind and constructive comments, but you stop as someone’s profile picture catches your eye. it’s an older screenshot of you and karl, one during your first cooking stream. your face was tightened as you read the instructions for the brownies you were baking, but karl wasn’t looking at the screen. instead, he was looking at you with a smitten expression. his face was redder than usual, a small smile blessing his face, and his eyes looked at you adoringly. you have never seen this screenshot (surprisingly). despite the happy day it was, it also reminded you of your conversation with george.

george still talks to you, more so now than weeks ago. he told you that he reached out to some of his friends (you assume dream and sapnap) for advice and is doing better. he tells you that he loves you (with an emphasis on it being platonic) every once in a while, but it’s a massive accomplishment for him.

you close twitter and call george, pressing your warm phone screen to your ear. it rings just a few times before you hear a quiet greeting. “hey georgie! my favorite friend!”

“are you high or something?” his speech is groggy, causing you to look at the time. 9:21, meaning that it was around 2 in the morning for him. 

“shit, sorry. i didn’t realize how late it is for you.”

“‘s okay, (y/n). why’re you callin’?”

you laugh lightly. “what? am i not allowed to call my best friend?” george’s response is just silence. “okay, i have a question for you. you’re friends with karl–”

“no shit, really?”

“shut up. but has karl said anything about me? like, in a not platonic way?”

george is silent for a beat and you can hear him rustling. “you know i’m not that good at picking up signals,” he says with a bit of laughter. since ‘the phone call’ (as you and george call it), he’s been trying to be more open about his feelings with your help. your burning crush on him has simmered, but he will always have a place in your heart. sometimes, in the back of your mind, you wonder what would’ve happened if you had gotten together with george. but then a wave of a different feeling washes over you. an infatuation with another person. “to be honest, i’d say he’s obsessed with you.” you inhale quickly through your nose. “ask any other person and they’d say the same. he talks about you on stream so much. dream brought you up once during a call and karl’s demeanor changed instantly.” george takes in a deep breath before continuing. “and i’ve seen how you are with him. i get it, too. you’re so,” a pause. “so bright with him.”

you bring your knees closer to you, a giddy smile infecting your expression. “really?”

“i think you should go for it. tell him, don’t wait.” you know that he was referring to the phone call. “and if he doesn’t feel the same, which is a super small chance, he doesn’t deserve you.”

“thank you, george. i’m making an appearance on karl’s alt stream; i’ll do something.”

“have fun and good luck.” he hangs up and you swing your legs to the side of the bed. you put minimal effort into freshening up, looking in the en suite bathroom mirror. quickly walking to karl’s streaming room, you knock on the door to make sure it was okay to come in.

karl’s muffled response invites you into the room. “hey karl, you entertaining my viewers?” you quip, pulling a chair next to karl. karl is lounging in his chair, beaming at you while soft music plays in the background. on his monitor is the cool math games website and there’s paper scattered on his desk.

“i hope so. what game should we do first?” karl plays the games chat recommends while you commentate and play with the papers on his desk. you participated for a little when the chat wanted you to play fire boy and water girl with karl.

a thought comes to you, causing a small smile to form on your face. “karl, do you have scissors?” karl looks at you with a questioning expression, but opens a drawer and hands you a pair of scissors nonetheless.

“what are you up to?”

“you’ll see…” you trail, wiggling your eyebrows.

your inspiration: taylor swift’s paper rings. you cut small strips of paper and (through trial and error) manage to make two paper rings of acceptable quality. at this point, karl had stopped playing games and is just talking to his chat. seeing that you’ve stopped, he faces you while swiveling back and forth in his chair. “what did you make?”

“lift your hand,” karl does as you tell him, and you slip one of the rings on his middle finger. “for you.” it’s a bit loose and choppy, but karl’s expression instantly brightens. 

“a ring?” he admires his hand, but his gaze falls to your hand as you reveal a paper ring on your middle finger. “matching paper rings?”

Her Buddy move gives +1, but only up to three times. Yes, this is often sufficient. Argenta has no such problems, is more persistent with PMUN, and grants accuracy, while being able to ditch field effects for a less threatening spread of CS parameters. And NC Rosa is now coming in with comparable stacking ability thanks to her TM, which gives better gauge performance, better defensive backbone with pop healing, the ability to support special strikers as well, and can also do accuracy and less threatening CS parameters like Argenta. Let's get the big one out of the way: SS Blue may have been top dog in his day, but I earnestly don't believe you. He offers only Def and crit as reliable buffs, otherwise relying on 50%s for Sp Def, and random activations for Atk or Sp Atk. His healing potential is some of the worst, relying on 30%s to maintain. Unless you have him 2/5, I legitimately think Dawn is a better starting tank for a new player, just due to the value of built-in Vigilance when you don't have lucky skill availability. His position was downright dire when I got here, and it's only gotten worse over time. I'll admit, he takes hits pretty well, but this is not unique to him, and I've never found success with him in CS unless it was stall parameters. And even then he doesn't do well with Challenge Stall in the 10k and 15k meta. Blue is a bad pick at this point.

SS Korrina, my beloathed. Coming in here just outright better than Anni Lillie in literally every way that matters. I'll never forgive this bullshit. The only joy in my life is that her limited MP Snatch move can miss and tank her run. That's what you get, Korrina. This is what you deserve. I'd say Korrina is good. She's always seemed to do well for people who pulled her, and the CS parameter of Five Stats +3 is hilarious when they're trying to use it against Korrina. It's free money. I...honestly don't have a good reason to say you shouldn't do this. Ghost isn't exactly thriving right now, and neither Anni Lillie nor Renegade Cynthia can be said to be "better" than her. Which still makes me mad, those two are fucking Master Fairs, why are they such garbage?

Emma is my girl. Poison damage has come a long way, but Emma's still peak. Her Buddy move is obscenely overpowered, and in 3v3 content is absolutely devastating. Her ability to give the entire team +4 speed means any team is running perfect gauge control, and she can even get Free Moves Next when hitting poisoned foes. Her sync is explosive, her Potions can be nice, Emma is just an excellent all-around Striker. Who cannot do Gauntlet worth beans. Seriously, it's bad. I don't know why they did this to her.

I'd say this one has better overall value. Emma remains exceptional, while Korrina is still very good even if I can't personally vouch for her. Blue sucks though, so like. The highs are higher than the Tapu, but the lows are much lower too.

Acerola is really strong, but she isn't doing a single thing NC Rosa can't also do, and Rosa covers special too. Mina's really bulky and has capped Sp Atk for allies, but often this isn't as relevant as you'd hope, and the Fairy/Rain combo does almost nothing half the time. Lana...look, she's fine. Psychic's kinda fallen off in a way where its supports and F2P-adjacent pairs are the most interesting thing about them.

Meanwhile, SS Blue sucks, SS Korrina's pretty good, and Emma's extremely good...but the split between the three hurts a lot, because you're always dealing with those lower rates, and the possibility of getting bodied by Blue, who just isn't really worth it.

Moreover, all of them are happening around this month's new additions. You want absurd power, NC Nate has more than anything these sets provide. You want really good support, NC Rosa is arguably the best there is. You want a really powerful defensive support, honestly Winter Sycamore ain't lookin' too bad. You need a rare type covered? I get that Poison isn't super common, but at least that's had a lot of powerful picks drop recently, Bug is still a wasteland, and we're given one with excellent utility and Zone. “coward,” sapnap comments. “if everyone here was in a zombie apocalypse, who would be the first to die and who would survive?”

you lean your head back slightly, looking at everyone in the circle. some people you don’t know as well, but there is an obvious answer lingering in the back of your mind. “karl would survive.” dream releases an ego-fueled scoff. “he would find a way to befriend the zombies and live amongst them.” karl giggles, slightly hiccuping, and side-hugs you from his spot.

“who would be the first to die, then?” sapnap repeats, leaning on his hand with his elbow on his thigh.

“oh, definitely george.” you smile.

“what?!” george bursts.

“you’d be sleeping, you sleep through everything.” 

george scoffs, “idiot.”

now that it’s your turn to ask someone, you look to your right. “karl, truth or dare?”

he smiles, drawing his legs to his chest and holding his bottle with both hands by his shins. “truth.”

you look around the party. “who’s the hottest person here?”

karl sputters, face growing red. “uh,” he mumbles, lifting his bottle and taking a swig. a series of childish ooo’s fuels some stray laughter.

the game continues in the pattern, everyone either making a fool out of themself or getting tipsier. “sapnap,” george asks (after taking a swig from a previous question). “truth or dare?” he not-so-subtly emphasizes dare.

sapnap takes the hint with a confident smirk, “dare.”

george sets his empty bottle down. “lick the floor.” sapnap’s face contorts into a confused squint, but he nonetheless bends over. his chest meets his thighs as he sticks his tongue out to lick the hardwood floor.

“george, you’re an idiot.” dream shakes his head.

after more questions, dream turns to you. “(y/n), truth or dare?”

you twirl your bottle, sloshing the liquid courage around the glass. “dare.”

dream smirks, shooting a fleeting glance at sapnap. “play spin the bottle with the circle.”

your eyebrows furrow, but you shrug. sapnap grabs george’s empty bottle and places it in the middle of the circle, spinning it. as the bottle spins, you glance at the participants and look back at the bottle, silently willing it to land on george. at least then he would make a move.

dream suddenly reaches out, stopping the bottle while it’s pointing at george, making your heart skip a beat and a rush of anxiety to sober you (slightly). george’s eyes widen as he looks from dream, to you, then back to dream. “that’s cheating!” his outburst lowers your confidence slightly. he probably doesn’t even like you, that’s why he’s upset. 

“nuh-uh, the bottle spun, didn’t it?” karl laughs while drinking.

you take a leap of faith. “i’m okay with it if you are, george.” he looks you in the eyes and you can practically see his panic.

“oh, okay.” george is sitting right across from you, so he moves the bottle to meet you in the middle of the circle. you push yourself with your hands, sitting with your hands in the middle of your crossed legs. 

george lets out a breath and places his warm hands on your flushed cheeks. your eyes flit between his as he leans in. time seems to go slowly until his lips meet yours, but once they do, it’s like the entire party disappears. the once pounding and overwhelming music dissolves into only the sound of your heartbeat. some cheers from the participants break through your trance, making a smile spread on your face. you can feel george’s smile when you deepen the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck. george breaks away to breathe, and you leave a small kiss on his lips before nudging yourself back next to karl (who has both hands raised in the air). “damn!” dream applauds.

george’s face is completely red when you look at him. he looks at the floor and opens another bottle. he avoids your glance for the rest of the game.

after a few more rounds (and the pit in your stomach slowly consuming you), you excuse yourself from the game to relax outside. you walk through the kitchen, recycling the empty bottle in your hand and filling a solo cup with ice water. opening the screen door, you walk on the wooden porch with your bare feet, finding wilbur already there. he is sitting on the edge of the porch with his feet on the lower steps. “what, are you the wise sage of the party?”

wilbur laughs, patting the spot next to him. “only for you.” you accept his offer, sitting next to him. “i actually just finished checking on the party. i saw you playing truth or dare, how was it?”

you sigh, drinking your cold water. “dream rigged spin the bottle to have george and i kiss.” wilbur smiles with his eyebrows raised. your thumb touches your lips. “it was an amazing kiss, but george was really awkward and didn’t look at me the entire time after.”

“it’s because he likes you. everyone was talking about you guys getting together, he might’ve thought that you were only going along with it,” wilbur comforts you, placing a hand on your back.

the two of you sit in silence until you hear the screen door open. you turn around and see george. “hi,” he mumbles.

wilbur smiles at you, “i’ll leave you two to talk.” you furrow your eyebrows as wilbur stands, pats george on the back, and enters the house again.

“i, uh-” george shifts his footing. “can i sit?” he gestures to where wilbur was previously sitting and you nod. a small smile spreads on his face as he sits. “i wanted to clear the air, y’know, about the dare.”

your thumb absentmindedly finds your lips again, brushing against the bottom. “it was a nice kiss.” you smile bashfully.

george airily laughs. “yeah.” he’s silent again, taking a few deep breaths. “did you know that, apparently, everyone has a bet going that we get together?” he asks you while looking at the stars above you.

you exhale from your nose. “so i’ve heard.” you watch george’s blank expression, an optimistic smile threatening to form. “and i wouldn’t be totally against it.” george’s face finally turns to you, a confused look in his eyes.

“you’re so dumb.” george gives you a fond smile.

you mirror his smile, reaching to hold his hand. he intertwines your fingers. “dream’s move was pretty childish, but i’m not mad in the slightest.”

george squeezes your hand. “me neither.”

It's that time once again, lads.

EX & 20/20 Current 5* powerups: 240 Current spirits: 890 5* powerups available: 61 (20 lodge, 5 event, 4 CS, 20 exchange, 12 MF pulls) Spirits available: 425 (85x4 CS, 85 LCS) Total powerups: 301 Total spirits: 1315 Total that can EX: 10 (150 powerups, 500 spirits)

Our targets for EX this run are Rosa, Viola, Lodge Jasmine, and Lorelei.  I'm not sold on Nate and am skipping Sycamore.  Jasmine is one of my favorites, I will support her even if Clemont is better.  Lorelei is a terrible, terrible idea, but in for a penny.  This leaves a whopping six EX to work from, before even accounting for how many 5*s we draw on the way.  Which, if we're lucky, will be many.

Anni Steven - It's time.  I wrote about him in a teambuilding guide again, and he's my favorite Liza partner.  We're doing this.

Alder - Extremely tempted.  With Viola dropping, Alder is her optimal partner, and I do love Volcarona.

Classic Blue - Roxanne/Lodge Steven/C!Blue is a favored comp.  Powering up Blue feels justifiable, even if sync isn't really his deal.

F2P Supports Roundup

BP Morty - probably not necessary but is funny

BP Surge - would really help his survival

Lodge Blue - not necessary, but Grass HS

Lodge Elesa - not necessary

Lodge Raihan - don't use often enough

Lodge Morty - sees a lot of F2P use, the bonus stats would be great

Lodge Acerola - seen rarely, but is nice when she's there.

Lodge Adaman - Not actually good, but Eeveelution and Hisui.

Lodge Leaf - I wasn't too impressed, I think she could use better bulk, but hard to justify at present.

The 20/20 I have a few pairs that are sitting at 20/20, and would just cost spirits.  The spirit game is way ahead of the powerup game right now, to an order of almost six pairs that just need spirits without powerups.  Which is wild.  Our current 20/20s are:

NC Marnie - Is 20/20

SS Ethan - Is 20/20

Victrier - Is 20/20

Victrier is technically F2P and I do love Spectrier, so I'm tempted.  Ethan and Marnie are hard sells because it's just so unnecessary.  Not saying I won't do it.  I'm saying it's not relevant.

CANDY SITUATION Strike (5) It's concerning how low my Strike Stash is too...

Rose - 2.  He gets a lot stronger with it.

SS Ethan - 2.  Full sync privileges, if that's a thing we care about now.

Tech (3) While there are plenty of Techs, there's only one under consideration. I finally waited out SC Ingo until a more desired Bug Zone pair came out.

BT Leon - 2.  I did EX him, and Dragapult has grown on me tremendously.

Support (3) There's only one, really. But...

V!Lorelei - 1.  I really want that built-in Vigilance.

NC Rosa - 2. Let's just...let's just be honest with ourselves, yes?

General (12) "Hey, didn't you used to have like 20 of these?" Yeah dude, the Eevees, including Penny, kicked my fucking ass. Sure hope Viola goes well!

Rei - 2.  He's really strong, so this is a fairly sane investment overall.

W!Viola - 2.  She'll behave though, promise.

Role Cakes I had one Strike, one Tech, and one Support, all just from pulls. With this month being when we get the first daily cake coins cash-in, as well as the first introduction of 100 daily tickets for a full cake, I figure it's time to look at options.

Strike Akari, Penny, and Rei are the options. I don't really care to give it to any of them. Penny sucks with it, Rei is competent but I feel like his Buddy move already handles AoE, while Akari's sync is bad so I'm not sold on that kind of investment. Best to hold onto this one, I think. Tech/Strike is one of the two most powerful combos, after all.

Tech I can't justify anyone. There are plenty who could use it, but they're all Support, and no. No to that.

Support I told myself that should we get to this month and have no sub-Supports I wanted, I'd give one to NC Leaf. That duty will be fulfilled. I did consider SS Serena, but I've kinda decided against. Better to save the new one.

Sprint Literally only NC Rosa, and trust me, there will be cake.

Field Literally only NC Nate. If I pull him I'll do it, I actually think it's well worth it.

Level 150 (415 certificates)

SS Diantha - Probably extremely unnecessary, but Diancie

Bede - Mostly unnecessary but justifiable.

Shauntal - Pretty great F2P Ghost pair, really enjoying it. Feels justifiable.

The Eevesi - Like, the Variety ones. It'd cost 50 to upgrade all of them, but like. Come on. Eevees. Eevuses. Eevesi.

NC Rosa's a given.

Lodge Jasmine is a given.
