Okay, so while it’ll be extremely inaccurate to say that Phoenix never gets paid for his legal services (and believe me, I have Literally Checked)… he still probably doesn’t get paid enough. Not to mention the months-long 'dry periods' he always seems to have between cases.

Do you think that once Kay/Sebastian meet that man they realize it's him and tell Gummy who kinda had a guess but wasn't sure they just INMIDIATELY tell him about all the times Edgeworth talks about him?

did kristoph get too swept up and accidentally fall for phoenix, leaving him in one-sided love with the man he ruined? im kicking and screaming and crying. even better if he refuses to acknowledge it like the freak he is

did they, against all odds, fall for each other, but were doomed before they began? kristoph could never admit it to himself, every flutter in his chest and every ridiculous sappy thought gets pushed down to swirl deep in his gut, because if he lets those feelings get to his heart they just might kill him. phoenix would be putting the pieces together and the day he first starts to suspect kristoph makes him feel sick, he wakes up next to kristoph's sleeping, vunerable face each morning and hates himself for suspecting the only man who believed in him.

headcanon: when phoenix visited miles to discuss a case, he noticed how secretly sentimental the prosecutor is. though he had trouble admitting and showing it, he loves the people in his life dearly, and his home shows it. all over the house, and even in his home office, are pictures of the people he holds close. while looking around, phoenix finds pictures of kay, sebastian, phoenix and trucy, apollo and athena, franziska, maya and pearl, gumshoe and maggey, and even one of klavier.

however, phoenix doesn’t see any pictures of his father, gregory edgeworth.

when he asks miles about it, the prosecutor goes silent before explaining that it was due to von karma. manfred hadn’t wanted any pictures of the man who ruined his perfect record, so miles wasn’t allowed to bring any pictures of his father. he tried to secretly bring one and keep it a secret, but manfred found out about it and burned it in front of the boy.

now, miles doesn’t have any pictures of his deceased father, and he comments with a bitter laugh that his memories of him get hazier and hazier every day.

phoenix, determined to be a hero and make miles happy, will not let this stand and gets to work.

it takes a few months, but he’s able to find and get into contact with people who know gregory edgeworth and collect photos from them. in the end, he has a few pictures of the defense attorney… and several of gregory and miles together. he figured he wouldn’t have any luck with those, assuming they would be destroyed or in some storage unit, but raymond shields turned out to be a godsend.

so, with the photos he collected, he visits miles under the false pretense of going over a case together. once he’s there, he gives the photos to miles, watching the prosecutor intently as he looks through the photos in shock.

he had expected the shock. he had half expected the tears. what he hadn’t expected was the hug and the barely audible murmur of “thank you, phoenix.”

he couldn’t completely undo all the damage von karma had done, but he would repair all he could and do what he did best: hold miles and let him know how loved he was.

and that’s just what he did.

Miles Edgeworth x an oblivious crush:

We all know that Miles becomes emotionally incapacitated when it comes to handling feelings different from discomfort, anger or simply his neutral state of mind;

So you can perfectly imagine how many times he stumbles over his words and blushes per se when he's with her;

To start a conversation he has to think about what to talk about, at least two possibilities of her responses, and how to continue it afterwards;

That's the exact motive why her behavior DOES NOT help him, at all;

He doesn't understand if she does it on purpose or if she's that unaware of his own behavior in her regard;

But, from many points of view, Miles doesn't dislike it completely, since it allows him to be somewhat more free without necessarily embarrassing himself, since she doesn't suspect anything;

He often buys her small gifts or takes her to eat after work, but even if he tries with all his strength (which he never can fully use), she always sees it as a "date" between friends;

She probably starts to doubt after Miles' continuous kind gestures, but it's also the last thing she wants to illude herself of, so that's the main reason why she believes anything Miles does for her is just form a friend to another;

So she just tries to reciprocate his affection;

When she finds some particular tea leaves, he's the first one that comes to her mind, so she buys them for him;

Whenever they're together, she likes to hold onto his arm or when they're in very crowded spaces, she holds his hand nonchalantly and just drags him;

She sends some photos of her days and always makes sure to wish him a good morning and a good night;

When she can, she comes to his office to keep him company if she knows that he has to work for many hours (and sometimes even falls asleep on his sofa);

U s e l e s s to say that Miles is even more confused and flustered with each of her actions;

Mostly when she proposes to help him choose the outfits of the day and, once together, she fixes every inch of his, from the shirt collar, that irregular fold on his jacket and her beloved hair;

Oh dear, she has to only skim his scalp to make his temperature rise suddenly, his hands trembling in his pockets when he feels his locks being gently pulled to be styled;

And, of course, the nonexistent distance between their faces (a thing that Miles tries to ignore by keeping his eyes closed);

And at this point, even a whole poster on which is written "I LOVE YOU" will leave her doubting.

"Miles look!" They're cute, maybe noisy and not exactly calm in the house, but they are soft" "Dogs are also soft, and are way more manageable than a duck" He stood up, attempting to get her to break away from him, but she remained hugged to his neck, on her toes "Just becaaause, you already had one and blah blah, we'll see who's truly right" She moved her arms from the neck to his chest, squeezing him to bother him and prove her point. The laugh that came from her mouth made Miles melt for a second, breathing to calm himself down and -HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW AND WHY- placing his trembling hands on hers, taking the courage to turn around and seeking to clarify whether something could actually exist, between those two.

He cried when 1d broke up. going to music awards is surreal because he gets to meet his childhood artists (and daryan always made fun of him for how excited he got). Kristoph listened to eminem as a teen. Ema has tumblr user music taste (since i personally nominate her as the aa character most likely to use tumblr). Trucy listens to viral tiktok hits and thats most of her music taste. Athena loves 2010s girlpop. Klavier is best friends with Olivia rodrigo. I could go on.

can't imagine morgan fey being bothered enough to handle mia's funeral but i can imagine a 17 YEAR OLD maya fey pushing herself to make sure her sister has a perfect funeral while trying to ignore all the trauma and grief of losing a sister and being accused of her murder with only one person truly being in your corner (who she barely knew well enough to fully trust but she had to force herself to trust). and also while still being a fucking child who has been forced by circumstance to grow up when she remains unprepared.

Miles: tea, obviously, and he's obnoxious about it. I do think he will submit to coffee if he's really really tired though.

Gumshoe: a coffee man of ever I saw one. He puts milk and sugar in though because he doesn't like the taste otherwise

Franziska: she had an insane order with a million specifications and she gets mad if it's wrong in any way at all

Pearl: fancy Starbucks coffee of the season. She has coffee mornings there with Maya and they try them out. That's the only time she's allowed caffeine because she gets hyper
