railroad vs acadia conflict is so funy to me because the rr really are like "we are the synths' only hope 🥺🥺🥺🥺" meanwhile this ancient feral beast of a synth runs into an IT guy and the bounty hunter who gave up doing anything about anyone anymore and says "hey you guys wanna start bringing synths up here" and they did it and it worked fine. probably even with a better margin of error than the railroad. well until the murders
acadia's shield such a cool name for anything. .... idk. evocative. i like to think of this piece of armor sometimes. write item descriptions for it like a souls game
jokes aside i love how even just a little more thought was put into the (named) synths in acadia. synth lore as a whole is pretty stupid but at least in acadia there's more archetypes than just the "shy and forlorn victim of oppression".
dejen's hostility towards the player and obsession with security makes sense, last time humans came into his life to "help", everyone around him was slaughtered.
miranda is upbeat and talks hopefully about the day she can safely travel without needing to worry about what going back to the commonwealth as a synth looks like. shes bored of the sameness in acadia and wants to go Do Something (relatable adhd momence)
cole's entire ordeal is massively fucked because he's pretty new to acadia and has bright eyed, hopeful tone to him. he has that one line about how he'd "do anything" to repay dima's kindness for allowing him to stay in acadia... and uh. well. his repayment sure is. something ☹️
jule and cog's relationship kinda breaks my heart every time i think about it. idk if the implication is meant to be there but it really comes off like cog is an older brother who just wants to know why his kid sister is suddenly acting so strange. if you tell jule what faraday did to her, she says shes leaving, but then goes and just sits outside. she has nowhere else to go! that fucking hurted!!!
its almost like its not that hard to create a town/settlement with lively & unique characters that all offer their own perspectives on the current Happenings of the game rather than just naming everyone "resident" and having a select few merchants talk to you about nothing but their wares. todd.
kinda goofy and like. not logical at all but i think itd be funny if synths just werent affected by alcohol. some people from acadia comes down to the harbor to hang out with brooks every once in awhile. they all go to the last plank, yukking it up at all the hardened sailors watching them in horror as they slam a whole jug of moonshine and walk off with naught but a grimace for the flavor
the thought of acadia being "self-segregating" (actual phrase i saw used im not kidding i wish i was kidding) is so funny cuz for all of the group's fucked-upness that is. the least of its issues.
minority group that only feels safe living several hundreds of miles away from the people who enslaved them & just kinda want to mind their business & live amongst each other is a weird way to define segregation.
