0-4 is here, never fear.
I figured it out. Saiki keeps repeating himself so that the time loop reveal is more impactful. Or something. He is mentally preparing us for the neverending comedy shenanigans to get serious. Let’s pretend that’s Asou sensei’s intent.
This chapter is entitled “Chapter four: Precognition,” so I look forward to seeing how it addresses this very interesting power of his.
I have always liked that Saiki’s precognition is only totally random snippets without context (and comes along with a headache.) That’s a good limitation to put on a power like that, and it makes a good hole in which to plug Aiura further down the line (if you’ll excuse the strange wording.) Saiki then says “It would be the best power if only I could see exactly where I wanted to in the future…” So he thinks Aiura’s power is the best power…
I do like how this manga gets kind of meta in terms of: there’s the repeating format of “I am a psychic, but my abilities suck and here’s why…” but with a different ability each time, and a totally different character as well. It does give these first chapters a bit of a time loop feel. I wonder if a fan or an editor made some kind of comment in this vein to Asou sensei and he decided to run with it. I mean, he probably just thought of it as a convenient format to use, taking into consideration that a lot of people would be starting off by reading chapter two, or three or even four instead of chapter one of his first manga, since it was brand new at the time. And since the releases were pretty spaced out. Anyways.
I love how much fate just literally hands him very distinctive people. Even when Saiki isn’t accidentally doing things to attract them or being way too kind, he still ends up in all these scenarios where nothing but fate could make him collide with all of these people. Makes me think of the episode where Saiki is watching TV and it’s just one person that he knows after another.
XD Nendou conquered the slit…
I can’t decide if this is sarcasm or if Saiki likes human body part shaped objects. Judging from all of his earlier rants about muscles being gross, I’m going with sarcasm.
The fact that Saiki went out of his way just to do that for Nendou is touching. And very extra. I know it was because he thought Nendou would die otherwise, but still. He didn’t have to follow up with a text. That part was just to spare Nendou’s feelings.
He swapped her cell phone and the bowling ball… I guess those two items cost the same amount, a flip phone and a bowling ball… hmm.
Also I like Nendou having more emotional intelligence than Saiki. All of his friends have something that he doesn’t have; maybe that’s the common thread between them (aside from them all being a little strange.)

seriously not trying to be elitist about fanfiction sites, but can someone who actually uses wattpad please explain why every fic i click on forces me to scroll through fancasts and moodboards and sassy things the characters say and people explaining that inspiration for the fic before i get to the first chapter. i’m guessing the site doesn’t give people a space on their profile to put non-writing stuff. or maybe it’s just the culture there. i don’t mind extras in the A/N’s but the first chapter almost never being the first chapter is just annoying.
i’ve tried to read on that damn site for years but every time i rage quit. and the search functionality is trash tier.
again, not trying to be elitist but it’s very annoying when i just want to read fanfiction and end up being assaulted with pictures. ao3 allows you to put pictures, but people don’t abuse it.
and then, the ui is horrible and seems to force writers into doing tiny chapters because the text box is a third of the screen for absolutely no reason. it also doesn’t put the date the first and last chapters were posted so i can tell if it’s been abandoned, finished, or still updating. infuriating.

I do have my doodle-specific sideblog (or my full art-specific sideblog lol) which includes a directory of all the things I like to draw, OCs included :) But all of my tag-commentary is still over here on sysig, so it doesn't give as much context :0
(I've also got the AGE sideblog which is technically a DnD/OC-specific sideblog and it keeps all the context but?? that's like, very specific lol)
(I also started construction on a Just Desserts/Charm askblog like three years ago but it never really went anywhere lol ouò;)
It's really just easier for me to kinda-mostly keep things contained-ish over here! I like to diversify (clearly) I'm just not the best at it lol - so asking here helps me keep track of things :D

"is that you went in photography?" julia asked. she knew that her mom worked as the photographer for daisy jones & the six, as well as other musicians. camila had found a bunch of old photos from the aurora tour, so they were looking at them together. julia pulled one out that just had the corner showing and looked at it. it looked like it was from the photoshoot for the album, she knew that they used a picture of billy and daisy that her mom had taken until of something from the photographer they had hired.
julia looked at the picture. her mom had caught billy and daisy mid-conversation, it looked like they were arguing about something. what it was, exactly, who knew except for the two of them. julia didn't know everything about the band, but she knew that the relationship between her dad and the lead singer was messy as hell and that was putting it lightly. "hey, what was this photoshoot like?" she asked, sliding the picture over to her mom. "i know i was there but i don't remember anything," she added. when billy did bring up the band, it was usually something julia was there for like a plane ride or song recording. of course she didn't remember any of that, but her parents didn't need to know that right now.
