Summary:
After her rescue from Enbarr by Dimitri, Rhea has withdrawn to the Red Canyon to live a life of peace and seclusion, interrupted by a monthly visit from Flayn to deliver some books, and have tea and a chat. However, as Catherine's feelings for her and Flayn's frustrations with Seteth's prudish behavior become more obvious, Rhea devices a plan...

To celebrate Rhea's birthday, here's a cute little first chapter to a fic that I had been meaning to write for a while. This story will be almost exclusively Rhea & Flayn as well as Rhea/Catherine. And before anyone asks: I DO actually like Seteth, in part because he is flawed (the flaw in this case being an overbearing father).
The song Rhea sings is a translation of part if "Mein Anblick", by German medieval folk rock band Schandmaul.

It began, as so many things did, with a careless, casual remark, flung out into the open to be forgotten within seconds.
"Dimitri has invited me to visit him and Dedue in the capital and I am sorely tempted to accept," Flayn had said as she had put the finishing touches on the white flower pattern she had been stitching onto her new skirt, "but father has been terribly busy for the last two months and likely will be for several more. I believe pigs will start ascending to the sky before he lets me make such a journey all on my own."
"I see..."
Rhea sipped from the Crescent Moon Tea that Flayn had prepared for the two of them. Or... well... technically, the three of them, but Catherine had refused to partake, as she had had for the last ten moons, no matter how often Flayn had reassured her that her presence was not disturbing their conversations at all. Instead, she was patrolling the ruins again, the low, vibrating sound of her distant off-key humming similar to the rustling of leaves in a forest.
"I understand his desire to be cautious in these times," Rhea finally conceded as she put her cup down once more. Why did tea have to be hot? "The war may be over, but I hear some of the dark mages Edelgard employed are still in hiding." Her hands clung closer to the cup, the chill from the dungeons of Enbarr creeping back into her bones even now, almost a year after her rescue. "It would be dangerous for... one of us... of all people, to travel Fodlan alone, but surely he could spare a knight or two to accompany you? And once you are in Fhirdiad, surely His Majesty would ensure your safety?"
Flayn sighed. "I don't think it is ambushes from dark mages that father is concerned about." She finished another two stitches, then paused in the middle of the third. "Unless every man in Fhirdiad leaves the city while I am visiting, I doubt father's fears could be allayed."
"I see."
Rhea wanted to sigh. She could probably get away with it too, now that she was no longer the archbishop, forced to perform serenity, wisdom and grace, even when she was truly upset, lost and raw with grief on the inside. Still, this was Flayn. Her niece. One of the last five Nabateans in existence, or possibly six if one counted the new archbishop. For her sake, she could endure that torture again for a few hours each month.
"I assume you have talked to Seteth about this?"
"More times than I wish to count." Flayn rolled her eyes and took a petulant stab at her skirt. "He insists that I know far too little about the dangers inherent in such attachments and that we shall 'discuss it another time'."
Finally, frustration won out. Rhea watched silently as Flayn secured the needle close to where she had finished stitching and threw the whole garment onto the pile of books she was going to take back to the monastery with her. A History of Brigid and Dagda. The Tales of Kyphon. Songs of the North.
Songs of the North...
Rhea's lips curved into the slightest smile. She had an ide—
"What do you think he means by that, Rhea? Considering how long we..." Flayn took up her cup and downed it whole, without the slightest pause. If her throat glowed as hot as her cheeks, she was bravely ignoring it. Or perhaps, even using the fire as fuel for her frustrated words. "What is 'another time' for him? In a hundred years? A thousand? They will all be dead by then, Rhea!"
"Who will be dead?"
True to her name, Catherine burst into the room at the speed of lightning, sword drawn, body poised for battle. Flayn's cup tumbled out of her hands and shattered on the marble table just as her startled yelp came to a close.
"Just point me at them! I will cut them down to size!"
"There's no-one to cut, Catherine." To Rhea's surprise, the sound that came out of her own throat was a surprised giggle.
A giggle.
When was the last time she had been carefree enough to giggle?
"I... um... I was speaking of... um..." Flayn's hands reached for the shards almost too quickly. Rhea could already foresee her injuring her fingers. "...the fish! Ow!" She pulled her hands back from the mess on the table and pouted at the cut in childlike indignation for just a moment, before turning to Catherine with a sheepish smile. "His majesty invited me to visit the capital, but I am just so worried the fish in the pond will all be dead if I'm gone for so many weeks."
Catherine raised an eyebrow, then put away her sword. She looked almost disappointed. And positively bored.
"Why would you worry about the fish? Last I checked, Garreg Mach has an actual Fishkeeper whose entire job it is to ensure the fish are well." Catherine shrugged. "Well, until they are caught and taken to the kitchens anyway."
"Oh, of course." Rhea smiled, took off one of her gloves, and wrapped it around Flayn's injured finger, pressing gently. "How easily one forgets the simplest of facts, when worried about something one holds dear."
"Now that," Catherine sighed, "that feeling I know all too well. I shall take my leave then. My apologies for interrupting."
"It is quite alright." Rhea shook her head. Her gaze wondered once more to the books. To the Songs of the North.
Perhaps Catherine's interruption had been more than alright.
Perhaps it was time to beat Seteth at his own game.
"Wait, Catherine!"
"Yes, Lady Rhea?" She had been almost out of the room already, yet Catherine froze and turned around in an instant.
"I have a question before you go. That melody you were humming before... it sounds distantly familiar, but I cannot recall its title, no matter how hard I try."
The blush that rose to Catherine's cheeks almost instantly confirmed what she had already guessed. It had truly only been half a lie. She had not been certain about the title, but she had had her suspicions. And if her suspicions were correct...
"I believe it's called 'Your Sight', Lady Rhea." Catherine's voice could not have sounded more nervous if she had been on her knees, wielding a ring instead of a sword. "But I honestly don't remember the words. Just the melody."
Now that was a lie, but one Rhea was happy to overlook. She granted Catherine leave once more, then finally withdrew her glove to look at Flayn's finger.
The bleeding had stopped. The subtle glazing over of her eyes as bitter tears made their way to the surface had not.
"Please accept my apologies, Rhea. It's just..." Flayn wiped her eyes with her sleeve and sat up as straight and unbending as she could. "It's just not fair. How am I supposed to learn, if he won't let me within ten feet of a man without supervision?"
"Well," Rhea smiled and wrangled the copy of Songs of the North out of the pile as gently as she could. "We could start here."
"The books from the library?" Flayn raised an eyebrow and continued her work of gathering the shards of her poor cup, this time with more care. "I already asked the librarians, the monks and even some of the students for recommendations, but whatever novels of romance the library may have, they are not accessible to me. And if I were to buy one at the market, surely father would find out."
"That is why you look for the romance in books that are not about romance." Rhea's smile turned positively sly. "You just have to know where to look."
The cover was heavy and worn, but inside the pages looked almost untouched by the sands of time. Little wonder, Rhea thought to herself, as she let her finger run down the index, when there is nothing in this book that would be relevant to any study of battle.
But love... oh yes. There were things in here that were relevant to the study of love.
"Ah!" Her heart made a little jump when she finally found it. Is this how students felt when they bent the rules instead of breaking them? It had been too long since she had felt this... juvenile and mischievous. "There it is."
The page was one-hundred and sixty-five. Though some of the words were partially blotted out by prints of a paw here or an unfortunate drop of wax there, the song was legible enough. Rhea cleared her throat and straightened her back.
"If I had a brush for painting your visage,
the gleam of your fair eyes, your full rosy lip,
I'd paint your fine brow, your sweet smile and faint freckles
as they caught me in their most enchanting grip."
The distant humming stopped almost exactly at the same time as Flayn's shocked gasp. Had it been unkind of her to Catherine, to sing so loudly a song of such obvious intent? Perhaps, but the damage was done. Rhea cleared her throat once more and continued.
"If I had a flute for playing the sweet notes
that tell of your limitless beauty and grace,
I'd play the full roundel of heavenly dances
as they haunt my thoughts since those most fateful days.
But neither pictures, nor sweet notes nor kind words,
could ever describe what occurred in that place.
When I saw you there, how it shook all my soul...
Yes, upon that night, you kindled my flame.
The sun and the stars, they tell stories of you,
every gust speaks of you, through and through,
every single breath, every stride,
carries your name with it, so far and wide."
She closed the book softly, careful not to disturb the faint echo of her voice that travelled across the ruins of Zanado. She could all but see it reverberate in Flayn's body. It was rare to see both a smile and tears on her niece's face, yet here they were.
Rhea shook her head and laughed softly. "I apologize if my rendition of it did not do it justice."
"Oh, that," Flayn blinked furiously, as if awakening from a dream, "that's not the case at all! It is truly a beautiful song! And you performed it very well! I just..." The shards were neatly arranged now. Flayn looked almost disappointed at them for no longer providing a welcome distraction and retrieved her stitching project instead. Still, the needle remained idle between her fingers. "I just..."
"You did not expect to find an ode of love in the middle of a book about chivalry and the harsh wilderness of Faerghus in winter, did you?"
"No." At last, Flayn resumed her stitches, but even so her attention was only half there. "No, I did not."
"And neither would Seteth."
Rhea returned the book to the pile and got up to search for the list of next month's haul that she had prepared the day before. Granted, she had not expected to help her niece fill an educational gap that was becoming increasingly important to remedy, but then again, it was hardly too late to add one more book to the list.
By the time she came back, Flayn had abandoned the floral patterns of her skirt once more. Her gaze was fixated on the books, yet it seemed a million miles away. There was curiosity there, and longing, and hope, yes... but also trepidation, brushed with a hint of guilt.
Yes, Rhea had been alive long enough to be able to read Flayn's face easily enough, but sometimes the quiet parts had to be said out loud.
"What troubles you, Flayn? Please, speak honestly."
"I'm worried." It wasn't what Rhea had expected her to start with, but as she sat down again, the slight shaking of Flayn's hands confirmed that she was not exaggerating. "I hate having to go behind father's back about such things. I know he will be furious if he finds out... and disappointed. Disappointed and hurt that I chose to shut him out."
"But was it really you who did the choosing?" She kept her voice as soft and gentle as she could. Going by the confused look on Flayn's face, perhaps even too gentle.
"I'm afraid I do not follow..."
"You tried to learn naturally, by interacting with the students. Seteth refused to let you." Rhea picked up the owl feather she kept near the books and dipped it in thick, black ink. "You tried to learn from the books at Garreg Mach. Seteth refused to let you." Oh but where to start... There were so many things that would need explaining, so many opportunities... "You talked to Seteth himself about this issue... and he refused to help."
"You mean he left me no choice."
"Precisely."
Although to be perfectly fair to Seteth, it was not just his own behavior that complicated things. Rhea forced her face into the display of graceful serenity she had been so happy to give up upon her retirement to Zanado. Long-lived as their kind may be, even Nabateans went through an age of natural curiosity and yearning and Flayn... well, Flayn was exactly at that point.
And perhaps that was the best point to start. She jotted the name of the book down quickly, before returning quill and ink where they belonged. When she turned back around, the paper was already in Flayn's hand.
A very confused Flayn's hands.
"Best Practices for Codes of Conduct in Training Facilities throughout Fodlan." Flayn's eyebrows knitted into a heavy frown. "I fail to see how that would contain any... relevant information."
"And so will Seteth," Rhea shrugged. "To him, it will just be another book on my monthly reading list. Have the librarians give them to you early, and when your brother asks why, say you wish to broaden your horizons and be able to talk about my reading choices with me."
Flayn looked at her in mild concern, then at the list, then back at Rhea. "You want me to lie to my own father?"
"Of course not. But how is any of what I just said a lie? You will broaden your horizons. And we will discuss what you read. We are merely emitting to mention which part of it."
She wasn't fully convinced, Rhea could see that much. Still, Flayn folded the note carefully and tucked it into the book at the top of the stack, before returning to her sewing.
"Thank you, Rhea. Although I suppose it will still be a long time before I get to undertake that visit to the capital."
"Unfortunately, yes." Rhea picked up her cup of tea once more and couldn't help but smile. It was finally a drinkable temperature. "But as the Fifth Book of Seiros says, the Goddess will never deny the splendors of patience."

How do you think Cyril's negative character development would have been like if his being recruitable to CF hadn't been cut from the game?
Ouch!
Even for non recruitable to the BESF characters, we still see some negative character development (Seteth putting his daughter's safety over Fodlan's and the world when he accepts to fight for Fodlan in the other routes even if it might cost him Flayn, Catherine's reaction to Rhea wanting a Bernie Charcoal Grill in Firdhiad - Of course she has reservations and that's a good thing! But SS Catherine knows what to use her sword for, if crazed!Rhea wants (?) to demolish Garreg Mach, Catherine will stop her suffering instead of helping the white Beasts doing what they do! The end of CF Rhea isn't the Rhea Catherine knew, followed and loved - sure I wouldn't want her to betray Rhea at this point because Rhea lost everything (even herself!), but Catherine doubting her (when she put her full trust in her because she knew Rhea is a kind and caring person!) feels imo like negative character development - and yet, given how Tru Piss plays, is there any solution or alternative? Maybe Catherine could have sort of disobeyed, like she wouldn't have torched the city, but let civilians evacuate (only to end up like the ones who ran away from Garreg Mach lel) because making innocent people suffer to protect her isn't a thing the Lady Rhea she knows would have done, but she will still protect her until the end?) so in a way, Catherine's negative character development could be listening to a Rhea who lost her way, even if she doubts her - but yeah under no circumstances I could see her pack her things away and leave (as Seteth planned to do if he survived) or straight up ditching her.
As for Cyril...
Well, we don't see him that much in Tru Piss, but even if it's a bit of a stretch, I can think his death quote would be one?
Cyril thanks her - for everything she's done for him, but his character development, in FE16, is all about him moving forward and wanting to live for himself, do the things he wants beside repaying his debt and remaining by her side, aka, Rhea wants him to live and do things he wants, even if it means leaving the Monastery (Nopes added that Rhea also doesn't want him to die!) - and Cyril's development finally kicks in reading his ending cards, he leaves the Monastery (even if he often still affiliated to the church!) and either becomes an advisor (who can advise a Count!), a Knight or a Priest/Ambassador!
So in a way, Cyril's negative character growth on CF is him dying before reaching his full potential and aspirations!
Now, if both were somehow able to ditch Rhea to join the BESF...
Cyril canon thinks leaving Rhea and doing more than repaying her - even if it's to live somewhere else - would be akin to betraying her (Seteth assures him it's not the case lol) - and we know Cyril really adopted the definitely non almyran (at least non dagdan?) value of gratitude, so if by some weirdness he had to ditch Rhea, I'll see him feeling as well as Ashe in Supreme Bullshit, or being really despondent and not valuing his life anymore, maybe comparing his situation with the BESF to the one he had in Goneril (without the food shortages!) or before, in Almyra.
Catherine?
Wow, that's hard to even imagine, but I'd guess a Catherine who takes the same route as Felix, who only wants to fight strong people, and die.
(they'd totally pull a Jill and join the other side if they are talked to/talk to Rhea or the other members of the CoS, or basically are fielded against them lol)

First impression
The days of 3H pre-release are long gone, but from what I remember I didn't think much of her beside her being another Mikoto archetype which I didn't have any interest in. (especially because this was back when I was still on Reddit and by extension the Fates Bad™ circlejerk)
Then I think I remember seeing a screenshot of an official tweet that went something like "fight/destroy the Church of Seiros in Fire Emblem Three Houses" (nevermind it happens in only one of the four routes and the most villainous one at that) so I was something like "welp. guess she's the villain of another Evil Religion™, whatever."
Impression now

She's my favorite Fodlan character, something I never saw coming.
While I have my issues with how she's treated as a character (mainly being relegated to the red herring for Edelgard in Part 1 and the late Nabatean infodump only to then die in Part 2. You know, when she's not completely absent or treated as the scapedragon. In general she's treated with the "tell don't show" approach Fodlan writing loves) they are definitely mitigated by all the small details that make her so interesting. And while I find her lack of spotlight and moments where she shines at her best incredibly frustrating, I'll admit that digging beneath the surface and starting to see who she actually is as a person is quite fun in its own right.
She's a truly kindhearted, deeply flawed and quite cringe woman. Of course I love her.
Favorite moment
Funnily enough, her weed quest. Not just because the sheer concept of the pope indirectly giving weed to her students is hilarious, but because if you look closer you'll notice that every herb she gives seems to fit the specific students a bit too well to be a coincidence (for example Bernadetta's herb is said to give her the courage to strike a conversation, Marianne's gives her a more positive outlook on life and Ignatz's boosts his self-confidence).
This shows that while she feels unable to get close to the students on a deeper level, she's clearly paying enough attention to them to know the general things they struggle with and tries to secretly help them, and it's really sweet!
Idea for a story
I've been entertaining the idea of a Silver Snow rewrite (AKA a scenario where getting an A support with her changes the entire route instead of just the ending) where Rhea is rescued early and becomes the de-facto lord. Featuring character development where she finally starts to actually talk to the students and her loved ones, Dimitri in a secondary role because I think the dynamic between her and early-timeskip Dimitri, not to metion in a context where Edie's already dead, has some insane potential (also makes for a nice foil to CF).
Also changing from her requirement to survive from being A Rank with Byleth to being A rank with all of her support partners. AKA overcoming her fatal flaw allows her to not only survive, but live.
Basically her learning to stop compulsively keeping secrets, openly talk and get close to others again and rely on other people on a deeper level. You know, the good stuff!
Don't count on it ever actually getting written beyond a few posts though. I know my limits :(

Romantically with Catherine, platonically with Cyril!
Unpopular opinion
I mean, this is Rhea we're talking about.
Liking her to begin with and not treating her like she's responsible for everything wrong in Fodlan is already unpopular to begin with.
Also people severely overestimate the political power she actually has.
Favorite headcanon
As a joke headcanon: Rhea has been every single archbishop in the past as well, so to keep humanity from finding out she's a dragon she faked her death every few decades... in increasingly ridiculous ways.
It got to the point where the Seiros faithful believe the position of Archbishop is cursed, and whenever people act concerned about her because of it Rhea is grateful for it but at the same time is internally laughing her ass off.

Scarlet Blaze Ch 10
I don't remember if there's 13, 14, or 15 chapters per route in this game, but here we go with SB Ch 10.
STORY
I keep remembering Ingrid is dead 😭 And we forced Shamir to join us by threatening Catherine 😭
Oh, boy, Claude just became Edelgard's bitch boy. Can't say I didn't suspect this.
Why, though? Edelgard just said in her support with Balthus she intends to conquer all of Fodlan. Does she see Claude as the least threatening? I'd like to know why Claude thinks it's a good idea too.
So I take it this time Claude is getting shoe-horned into Edelgard's story rather than Byleth's? I wonder if we'll see this in AG and GW too. Or if it'll be a bit different.
I'm having Shez be such an ass. He turned down sparing with Holst and made things awkward.
Is Claude still king in this route?
"We'll be invading Fraldarius" no 😭😭.
Edelgard just called it an "invasion" too. So at least she's honest.
I love how Hubert is spinning Dimitri wiping out the Western lords as some evil thing. But, like, those people organized a genocide.
DOROTHEA, my beloved!!! THANK GOD.
Claude, Edelgard, Linhardt and just about everyone else is bemoaning all the people who are going to die in the war. for daring to . . . defend their lives But my girl Dorothea is the only one who seems to realize that her side is the cause of the bloodshed. Not the people who would never have to fight if Edelgard didn't force them too.
"Whatever our intent, we're the instigators here. We can't expect the enemy to do anything less than defend their land with tooth and claw." Dorothea is queen. A hypocrite, but at least the game realizes who's really at fault.
"When people think someone is after what the possess, they respond with fear - even if the thought is all in their head." - Ferdinand. Except, it's not?
Edelgard openly wants to rule their lands with absolute authority. She's already stolen everything from one of her enemies, why should the Kingdom believe they wouldn't get the same treatment Rhea did? I wish the game would make it clear what Edelgard would do to Dimitri and co if they did surrender. Because, like, does anyone really think Hubert would leave them alive? Or Edelgard for that matter? If she wants to rule the Kingdom, Dimitri and most of the Blue Lions would HAVE to die. Wouldn't she throw Dimitri and his supporters out of their homes and replace them with Empire nobility at best? It's not in their heads.
Hey, at least this is the first interesting thing that's happened in SB since the prologue lamo. I hope it's not just back to CF now except Claude is now Edelgard's toady.
CASPAR & FERDINAND A SUPPORT
Ok guys, for anyone who's curious, this is where I picked up after finishing FE Engage. Feels a lot less daunting knowing I'm already a good numbers of ch into every route.
Weird support. Ferdinand is getting respected and admired by a Black Eagle instead of being the butt monkey. Caspar is thinking and questioning having something in his life other than furthering his reputation via killing people. I like it.
Ferdie called himself a master of none and admired Caspar back.
LINHARDT & DOROTHEA A SUPPORT
Wasn't this B support the one where we learned Edelgard had a single sole supply line? Lamo.
Dorothea's not going to keep taking notes for Linhardt lol.
She got hurt, so Linhardt took notes for her. She's surprised, but pleased.
She told him he had his own charm, and he's like "please, no." I love him.
I don't think this support really showed a new side to the characters, though. It felt like an emptier version of their OG one.
SHEZ & EDELGARD B SUPPORT
Shez wants her to trust him. She says she does now.
He feels purposeless and wants to be her bodyguard.
Lamo, one of Shez's response options is "stand there slack-jawed." I forgot how much I liked Shez.
He wants to defend Edelgard because her promoting him changed his life.
HUBERT & HAPI A SUPPORT
Hapi is trying to make nice with Hubert.
They're bonding over coffee.
Now they're having coffee and talking about it. I'm more of a tea person, tbh.
Sorry, but this was boring af. Never thought I'd say that about a Hubert support.
CAMP + SIDE BATTLES
Dimitri took Cornelia down in this route too. Badass.
Ashe is so miserable, poor dude. Mercie isn't happy either.
I honestly really don't like CF!Caspar, but SB!Caspar seems even worse, like he's just his dad's little killing-happy puppet.
Randolph is still a little shit. He WANTS to invade the Alliance. IDK, I just cannot fathom wanting something like that of any country let alone an ally.
Lamo, Edelgard literally just said might makes right.
Shit, I just remembered that Ingrid's dead in this timeline.
Hilda legit just asked Claude why he's made a strategy that limits casualties. Are people from Faerghus the only ones who don't love killing people? She is doubting the Empire at least. She really doesn't like Edelgard, lol.
Not seeing Ingrid with the others hurts. They're really out here just trying to stop everyone else from trying to murder them.
See this is why Dimitri's the best one - "The old ways must die - with that I agree. But shove that down the people's throats, and you risk breaking the very land you're trying to rule." If Edelgard had her way, there'd be nothing left to rule except the Empire.
Yeah, the reason you can't work with the Empire, Dimitri, is that Edelgard wants to rule all of Fodlan. Her alliance with Claude has made it really clear that the Empire still intends a hostile take over of even their own allies. Which, honestly, I do appreciate SB for being a bit more honest than CF.
I really don't want to fight Rodrigue. I do think it's funny that your enemy always hires Jeralt though.
I'm guessing Jeralt gives Byleth his sword in every route.
SHEZ & BERNADETTA B SUPPORT
Starts with her screaming and shrieking about something.
Anna showed up! She's selling something to Bernadetta that will help her with her shyness. Also sells her something shifty. Or tries. Because Bernadetta assumes Anna's up to no good (probably true) and buys nothing.
Shez calls her judgmental lol. He's not wrong.
BERNADETTA & FERDINAND C SUPPORT
This is their only support. Kinda weird given their past history.
She's eating plants. Ferdinand is concerned she's eating bad stuff. Ferdinand wants to have a competition over who collects the most edible plants.
Poor Bernie. His "competition" really reminded me of those guys who are like "oh, prove it, name xxx!" when I say I like this sport or that fandom because I must be lying to impress them or some shit. (except I don't think Ferdie is being sexist here, just annoying af).
Bernie gets hurt and one of Ferdie's plants can help fix it.
Also, he lost.
EDELGARD & MONICA B SUPPORT
I can't imagine this is going to be anything but nauseating.
Haha, Edelgard just said in another world they may have lost Monica forever (to TWSITD).
Edelgard says she only saved Monica because it was the best move lol. And like, we know this is actually true because, well . . .
Ohhh, wow, they really went there. Edelgard tells Monica to her face that she only rescued Monica because it suited her, didn't plan on it, and would let Monica die if it helped her goals.
I know a lot of times people play off Edelgard's harshness as "oh, she's just insecure and saying that!" But here you can't really make that argument because it happens in Houses lamo.
She literally didn't rescue Monica because she needed TWSITD soldiers.
Learning this changes exactly nothing about Monica.
It added some stuff to Edelgard, but Monica is still horribly one-note.
FERDINAND & DOROTHEA B SUPPORT
I know a lot of people like their Houses support chain, but I kinda don't? It's drama over something really silly.
Edelgard is here. Ugh. I want Dorothea, not her.
Oh, good grief, it's going to be about the same annoying thing. Ferdinand is remembering seeing Dorothea and being stunned by her beauty.
(like, imagine getting pissed off that someone stares at you when you're butt-ass naked in public and dripping wet)
Dorothea's a lot more reasonable this time, getting flustered hearing this.
MAIN BATTLE
Every time I log back into this, I remember that Ingrid's dead :(
Oh, God, please tell me that I'm not killing Rodrigue and Felix now.
They go from "oh, bummer, we have to kill people to! Let's go Empire!!!" Bit of a whiplash, but Dorothea's the only one who seems to realize they're killing people and not NPCs lamo.
Same conversation between Shez and Arval. Guessing I'll get it in AG when it's time for recruiting Byleth too.
Ok, like with Golden Wildfire, I'll try to unlock Byleth. But unlike with GW where I reset and tried a few times, I'm only trying once. Because I really want to finish this and get to other games. AG is the only route where I'll put in real effort to get Byleth because I care more about those characters getting a fully happy ending than the rest.
I think I failed again lol. It changed from a side goal to the main goal to fight Byleth. I didn't move around the map fast enough.
God, I love Rodrigue.
Rodrigue died. I'm guessing if I recruit Byleth, that doesn't change? How many other Blue Lions does SB force me to kill?
Cut scene time. So who dies in SB?
LAMO, it's Randolph. OFC it's Randolph. This guy is just allergic to surviving.
Is it bad I'm more upset that Rodrigue died? He's a WAYYYYY better person than Randolph.
In case you didn't read my GW reaction, I was quite pleased to see Byleth actually pissed about someone almost hurt their dad given how little they ask Edelgard about her involvement in that in CF.
I like how they expect us to care about Randolph. Like, Judith, makes sense. She's close to Claude. She's cool. Randolph is really unlikable and has no special connection to anyone except Fleche.
Does this mean Fleche will cause a level where she goes crazy against Byleth?
This conversation falls so flat compared to the GW one. Because in GW, you were talking to Claude. Here, it's . . . Fleche. In GW it was actually an emotional moment (and made me feel a bit guilty). Here, not so much.
I do feel bad for Byleth and Alois though.
Ok, the Sothis-Byleth merging happening.
I love how they go from celebrating the deaths of Faerghus to lamenting their own loses, without any acknowledgment that THEY are responsible for all of this or that the people they killed were just as "alive" as they are.
Haha, even SB lets you recognize that Randolph means very little personally to you or any of the main cast.

SS is done.
The most standout part: I got the Rhea S rank. It was good. I support it, but I wish there was a gen version and also that it was available on VW. My general impression is that VW actually gives you more chances to ask after and worry for Rhea (plus Claude is a rather meh romance option), so it would be great if I could get with her there too.
In general, I wish VW and SS were just one route. Both have some nice small details, but given how similar they are, I feel like you'd get a better experience if they were just combined.
Checking my VW endgame notes, it seems VW gives you info dump about Agartha, which definitely feels missing in SS, and SS gives you a bit more detail about Byleth's deal from Rhea, which adds some nice details on the Rhea relationship front. Seriously, they should have just combined them.
(Hilariously, Catherine's endcard outright contradicts the paired Rhea one. They are incompatible, but I got both. Additionally, Ingrid's card seems to be written for Crimson Flower, since it mentions Galatea being "seized" and Ingrid needing to push strongly to be allowed to govern it, which comes across weirdly as a post-war in the Byleth-led United Kingdom, especially since the other Lions kids I recruited all got their lord positions without any apparent fuss.)
Overall, not much else to say about SS. Final take: SS and VW are really obviously the same route, but even though SS was supposedly written first, VW feels marginally better in its focus and I enjoyed it more. However, the Rhea stuff specifically is good, and I wish I could get it on VW. Yup.
Final save file time: 95:19. Minus the VW playthrough, it's 44:07, so a bit faster. Specifically post-route split, it's 20:16, so it seems like the part that I finished faster was actually just Academy phase, possibly because I just didn't care much for the BE kids.
Liveblogging notes:
Looking closely at the battle selection screen, it seems Shambhala is at the very eastern tip of the Empire. There's a bit of mountain that stretches down from the Throat across Airmid River, and it seems to be there.
Narration calls it a "sprawling underground city."
Thales was kind of a chump!
Ah, I just realized I forgot to check his X description blurbs. They probably weren't too interesting tho.
The Agarthans are super mad about living underground and not having "light." Thales also name drops Agartha in his battle line vs Seteth and in the cutscene afterwards. Aside from their ability description, I think this is probably the first time their proper name is mentioned. But we uh, don't seem to discuss this much?
Small scene with Nemesis's coffin is missing, I think. Well, obviously because he's not the final boss now. iirc the scene immediately after the month change, with everyone freaking out over Rhea is new instead. It's a little weird because iirc VW gives you more opportunities to express concern for her. Here, the Rhea focus feels a bit less supported.
Seteth didn't realize you already knew that Rhea is the Immaculate One (which you did, btw).
Seteth "long ago" lost the power to change form, but "it seems" Rhea has not. My dude, did you not know... He does confirm that he's also a child of the goddess, which Rhea keeps hidden in VW. Flayn is also counted as one of the children of the goddess, even though she's more like a grandchild. It's a general term for dragons.
Seteth and Flayn press Byleth about taking over as the leader of Fodlan in some capacity, now that Rhea's future is uncertain.
We find the Sword and Bow of Zoltan in Shambhala. I was wondering about whether these things existed, since Zoltan is a dude that got namedropped in a small quest item description a while back. I also have an Axe of Zoltan though I can't remember exactly where I picked it up. No spear?
Just noting that you use Arcane Crystals to repair magical weapons like the Bolt Axe, Mythril to repair sacred weapons like Cichol's Spear of Assal, and Umbral Steel for relics. Mythril is also used on forging the rusted weapons that require A+ professor rank. iirc they're legendary weapons from other games or something like that. Smithing Stones are for normal weapons of all rarities.
On VW, this month was about Nemesis appearing and us going to fight him, but here on SS, that doesn't happen, so the explore dialogue is all about Seteth telling us that we should become the new Ruler of Fodlan and us taking the month to think about it. Everyone around the monastery comments on this, how we should think about it carefully, how they believe in us, how they're thinking about the future, etc. It's... hm. I think it's okay, but it really highlights how much Byleth has not been setup for this role At All.
They're a mercenary who became a teacher via nepotism and while we do things in the story that you could probably read as proof of Byleth's ability to lead, they don't really feel that way, especially since Seteth can end up spending half the war refusing what we suggest. Byleth is also just... not a real character. So them becoming the big deal leader is kinda... yeah.
Anyway, I accidentally ended the month early. But whatever.
Before you tell Rhea your "decision," she gives you exposition about how she made you and Sothis's crest stone is in you. She wanted to see Sothis again and thought she could regain everything she had lost.
Sitri was Rhea's 12th attempt. She "grew up" without Sothis's consciousness and fell in love with Jeralt. But when she gave birth, the child was not breathing and she herself was also "in grave danger." Sitri told Rhea to take the crest stone from her and put it into her baby. Otherwise, both would have died.
Byleth is suggested to be able to house Sothis's consciousness because they have both the crest stone and a body born from a parent with Rhea's blood.
Rhea is aware that Sothis gave you her power and disappeared, which means Rhea's dearest wish did not come true, but she's accepting of that. She basically entrusts Fodlan and the future to you.
And she just flips out in the middle of that.
"White Beasts" appear all over the monastery. They are from priests and knights that Rhea shared her blood and "stones" with. Tho given how JP plurals work, it's impossible to tell if Rhea is meant to have one crest stone or several. Demonic Beasts also run in??
Enemies are Frenzied Church Soldiers with minor crests of Seiros, Altered Golems, White Beasts (cardinal that has transformed and gone mad due to the rage of the Immaculate One) with Blest Crest Stone Shards (bestowed by a saint and wielded as a weapon), and the Immaculate One herself. She has a crest stone of Serios, can recover HP when near a White Beast and is described as having been driven to an uncontrollable anger due to the power of the goddess.
This battle was annoying because of the Classic setting. The whole business with Rhea having a private army of people whom she shared blood with is, hm. But I get the feeling this was done purely to explain her battle having the same mechanics as with Nemesis and the 10 Elites. It's... an interesting tidbit that these cardinals and such exist, but kinda weird that the crest of Seiros is actually this common, especially since they can ALL presumably pass it down to their kids, and I would expect Rhea had done this for more than just one generation.
(funny concept: after a thousand years of Rhea just sharing her blood all over, a good three quarters of Fodlan has some Seiros crest blood and it manifests pretty much at random in people all over.)
Anyway, final blow by Flayn.
OK, enough screwing around. tbh I do like Rhea, so there's some emotional resonance in everyone being very worried about her and having little voicelines about how they want to pay back the debts they owe to her, and her sadness and suffering and all that. It's not the worst.
She mistakes Byleth for Sothis when collapsing in the cathedral.
They did make a mistake: Rhea transforms in her dressing gown without the mantle or headpiece, but she changes back in full archbishop regalia.
The post-battle exposition exposition is kinda... ah yes, all nations in Fodlan are gone, but you see the Church is leading people toward a new... nation? How does this work. Sorry, but I don't see a religious government (??) as a good thing.
Rhea says she had a vision of flying free and speaking with Sothis while near death. She's happy she survived... so am I.
Rhea's wish was for peace, but she admits fault in propagating a false history and deceiving the faithful. And she did a bit of forbidden experimentation on the side, obvs. We forgive her tho.
I wish there was a gen way to save her, without the romance. It's such a good coda, honestly, without the marriage.
I wish Byleth was a more concrete character. Not necessarily a super detailed one, but with at least some grounding traits.
Still, Rhea romance scene is pretty good. WAY better than Flayn. Why can't I do this on VW..........
Endings: Ashe takes over Gaspard as the new lord. Galatea was "seized" what the heck, though Ingrid did rule it. Felix still ended up Duke Fraldarius. Sylvain talked his way into peace with Sreng, good on him. Lindhart "escaped the Empire" but went missing. Dorothea fled with her troupe to a secret location. Petra went to Brigit. Caspar fell on a battlefield. Bernadetta because seriously ill and lived as a recluse. Ferdinand returned to his territory but went missing. Catherine became Guardian of Zanado, but why was she shaking up with MY wife in solitude? Because in the ending card with Byleth, Rhea is still archbishop and assists the leader of the new "United Kingdom of Fodlan." Shamir became Robin Hood. Alois became captain of the knights. Seteth became very tolerant lol

Three Hopes Unique Battle Quotes - Nabateans
Hey there! I'm reposting my stuff from Reddit to Tumblr because not everyone uses Reddit (for understandable reasons). It's gonna get a bit spammy.
Just as a warning: these posts tend to be really long and lore/nabatean related. If that's not your cup of tea, then you can keep scrolling or block me. Whatever works for you best!
This post will be about the unique voice lines the Nabateans have in Three Hopes. This includes Byleth because they're an honorary green pea. Oh, and feel free to point out any errors to me. I will weep in shame as I fix them.
Let's unpack them voice lines!
Seteth
First we've got the Adjutant Assigned voiced lines. Active Unit means that Seteth is being controlled by the player, Support Unit means that you as another unit assigned him as your adjutant.

2. One of your favourites from when you were a child?
Soooooo I was big into Warrior Cats when I was like 10 (pretty much just the first series, read the second and part of the third but never got as attached) and I kind of adored Yellowfang to pieces. She was one of the characters who created my love of grouchy mentor characters. Just this bitchy old lady who started out as a prisoner and winds up the town doctor. Doesn’t take shit. Killed her blind son in cold blood (I mean by this time it was very clear there was no safe way to keep the bastard alive) and developed an odd motherly and mentorly relationship with the protagonist. I loved her okay? Definitely have more but she’s always one of if not THE first that springs to mind.
5. A female villain you love?
*Rubs hands together* Oh absolutely. I love it when women are awful. Since I’ve been talking about her a bit lately I’m going to go with Madalena from Galavant. First introduced as our hero’s sweetheart, she dumps him for the king who kidnapped her and is VERY quickly revealed to be the worse of the two. She uses, manipulates and kills people to amass more and more power. Crosses pretty much every line even other villains think she won’t and she’s just so… happy to do it. She’s so excited to learn how to do dark magic, she gets super giggly when her henchman brings her earrings with ears still attached as a gift. She gets some explanation for why she is this way (growing up in abject poverty and never wanting to go back leads her to hoarding wealth and power) but it’s not really used as an excuse. And holy shit she is just so much FUN to watch!
9. A female character you started out disliking but came around to?
I am unfortunately repeating myself but it’s early and she is one of the more notable examples to me but Rhea Fire Emblem. I was right there with everyone else when the first images and blurb came out with “oh YEAH. I wonder who the villain is going to be, like I haven’t played a JRPG before.” Was playing through most of my first route expecting to hate her… but she didn’t really do anything? Slowly grew more of an appreciation for her… and then in the route where she DID go “villain” I was WAAAAAY more sympathetic to her that the jerks I was supposed to be rooting for. Now I’m with Catherine and I would kill for her.

Catherine FireEmblem for the ask game?
First impression : opening the artbook, I went "oh she looks gorgeous" as soon as I saw her page. One of the best designs in the game for me (but sadly for her I then saw Gilbert and knew I would die for this old man. It's the braid.)
Impression now : She's so fucking silly <3 (what a much more important character than she lets herself look like, a woman who actually is much more thoughtful than she lets herself appear even to herself, even if she is, in fact, a bit of a hot headed person sometimes)
Favorite moment : this is not a story moment. It is, in fact, a moment that made me yell in disbelief while playing VW. I had planned to S-Support Rhea and couldn't because it's fucking locked to Silver Snow, and decided, fuck it, the cutest person in this whole cast of characters I have access to right now is, in fact, Catherine, and decide to have Byleth give his right to her. In the following map, Catherine did an overall good job, as she always did. In a bit of a desperate attempt to finally get Nemesis' HPs down, which he almost had a full bar, I throw Catherine with Thunderbrand at him. And she proceeded to fucking crit him multiple times with Astra, annihilating him on the spot. Giving herself the spot of absolute best wife possible (and her S-Support is actually so fucking cute it's unbelievable I genuinely love it a lot)
Idea for a story : actually I need her to get trained by Rhea on how to punch things better. More seriously, I'd love to write something regarding her faith and how she puts her morals under Rhea's guidance, perhaps in relation with her fellow Knights of Seiros
Unpopular opinion : ... she's actually a pretty fantastic depiction of a religious person who might be a little too enthusiastic but knows it's not for everyone ??
Favorite relationship : Rhea and her. I prefer it more platonically, as a liege-and-knight sorta relation, but it is a pretty fascinating relation !! ... also, Catherine and Ashe, juste, A+, I think they should become friends in their own ways
Favorite headcanon : idk if I really have a headcanon, beside having her be beside Rhea while Rhea becomes Fodlan's Most Benevolent Cryptid TM post-game honestly. But I like the idea that she actually does keep Christophe in her prayers. It isn't guilt, but it isn't vengeful either. She knew him, and well, she couldn't let him go on with his plot. It is more complicated than most people can understand.

Hmmm I forgot I was supposed to be chronicling Dimitri's descent into madness. In my defense all my time on my phone has been spent reading fe3h fanfics. This is a good fandom to join just as the estrogen Feelings kick in. Marianne has been promoted to best girl.
A few thoughts in no particular order. Dimitri keeps getting worse lmaoooo he's actually just a Khornate warlord now, rip. I'm very curious to see how his redemption goes. Seteth is really growing on me. I assumed he was just Rhea's lackey but, I'm getting the sense that he's been like "wtf did you do to the mortals, Rhea, this is fucked up." His failed attempt to help Ingrid free herself made me cry a bit. But, at that point, Ingrid's continued dedication to serving her family is her own fault. Alois is charming but not enough to overcome how annoying he is, and if he flirts with me one more time I'm gonna go hook up with his wife. And I adore Shamir & Catherine, though Cat's still a zealous bitch who doesn't deserve Byleth or Shamir, lol.
The actual plot has kinda blurred in my memory. Aillel was a neat introduction for what'll turn out to be ancient high tech WMDs, and it's pretty cool how they ask me a strategic question only for Dimitri to overrule & make us do the reckless thing. My choices don't matter... in service to the plot & character development! Neat

Pumpkin carving with the Church of Seiros
Last year, I posted some pumpkin carving with the Blue Lions head canons for Halloween, so let’s do the church characters this time. Note that I already included Gilbert with the Lions, so he’s not in this one.
Alois: Goes about this with great enthusiasm. His carvings are a bit crooked and not all that scary, but somehow still a hit with the kids.
Catherine: Knows of similar traditions from Charon territory and starts out very enthusiastic, but quickly grows agitated when it turns out using a knife for carving pumpkins requires more finesse than using one for fighting. On the bright side, lugging heavy gourds around was a good strength workout.
Cyril: Initially refuses to partake because he is too busy, until Rhea tells him to abandon his tasks for the rest of the day and just enjoy the carving. He is INSANELY good at it, having spent much of his time at House Goneril chopping and peeling vegetables. He makes a bunch of scary wyvern face pumpkins.
Flayn: Easily the most excited person in the room about this entire project, but can’t finish a single pumpkin without Seteth trying to “assist” and “prevent her from cutting herself”… which eventually leads to Flayn cutting herself. After that, she focuses on preparing other decorations and encouraging the rest of the group.
Hanneman: Absolutely not one for the carving, but has an opinion on everybody else’s work (and most of the time, he’s at least technically right). Wants to commission Shamir to put at least one crest symbol on a pumpkin, but by the time he decides which one he wants, all the pumpkins have been carved.
Manuela: Is also not one for the carving, until Catherine jokingly suggests she should just think of the gourd as a suitor that spurned her. The ensuing rage leads to some genuinely scary looking creations.
Seteth: Doesn’t want to carve one himself, but insists on mentoring Flayn until she ends up cutting herself. When she demands that he finish her pumpkin for her then, Seteth accepts and actually gets the task done somewhat competently. He is the one who insisted that the carving be done at the very last minute, so the next morning the pumpkins can still be turned into soup, rather than being thrown onto the compost pile.
Shamir: Efficiency made flesh. She carves more pumpkins than anybody else, mostly depicting spiders and their webs, and pulls off tricks with a knife that make Gilbert and Cyril look on in awe. She considers it good dexterity training.
Bonus: Rhea: Even though this event was her idea, it takes the combined encouragement of the Flayn, Manuela and Byleth to make her partake. She turns out to be quite good with a knife and somewhat unpredictable with her carvings—half of them err on the site of cuteness, the other half are downright terrifying. The kids love them all equally and that’s good enough for her. Though she won’t admit it to anyone but Byleth and Flayn, joining in on such a mundane, quaint little tradition was one of the most fun things she did all year.

In Seteth and Catherine's B-Support gives some info on how Seteth views Rhea. He thinks of her as a 'friend who walks the same path, towards the same destination' (in Cyril's support he says that he sees her 'almost like family'). But Catherine's support also has him agree that he and Catherine are companions in fighting for the archbishop??? I'm so confused what does this mean. Is the lettuce squad related or not?

I always thought that Seteth said this "companion" thing to Catherine because, deep inside, even if he can marry her, at this point of their support convo, he didn't trust her enough to reveal his "totes not" real relationship to Rhea.
With Cyril, however, its a different story. Both Rhea and Seteth seem to have adopted him in their "unofficial" family, so Cyril is trustworthy enough to know that he and Rhea are "totes LIKE" family - iirc he starts to say they're companions, just like the Catherine Support, before catching himself, adding that they're "like" family.
I'm still kind of sad that Catherine and Rhea didn't get more support to highlight their relationship, Catherine got that huge "gals being pals" moment with Shamir in AG, but with Rhea? Nothing. We just know they're close, as Catherine, in her Dedue support, points out how similar their lieges are (and when we know how close Dedue is to Dimitri, one can only wonder how close Catherine is to Rhea), but lack of Rhea screentime only leaves us with interrogations.
Let's say Catherine is a true Faerghian at heart, and loves the liege she pledged her sword to
(even if that sword is that the femur of said liege's sister)

Reused crowns and tiaras
I have a slight obsession with tiaras and crowns. So whenever they appear on screen, I try to see if they are new and original pieces or if they have been rented out. Vampire Academy (2022) seems to rent quite a bit.
Queen Marina’s crown was previously used on Catherine of Aragon in The Spanish Princess.
Queen Marina’s orange & pink pearl tiara was previously seen on Margaret Tudor in The Tudors.
And I already posted about how Rhea Dragomir’s black tiara someone ended up with Mia Karp. But it was previously also used on Mary Tudor in The Tudors.
I think I have seen this tiara before too but there are a few similar ones around. It definitely isn’t the one Cecily of York wears in The White Princess, although they share a lot of similarities.

Headcanon prompt / open
Despite clearly drawing inspiration from FE4 and its divinities, godliness in 3h is explicitly linked to motherhood in Fodlan (differing from Naga's depictions in both Archanea and Jugdral).
Sothis is above all the land's progenitor goddess - the emphasis on her femininity and maternal side explicit in the text that shows up in the Fodlan magic circle.

Rhea wants her mother, the Goddess, back; this is the reasoning behind much of what happens in Three Houses, including Byleth's own origin. But does Rhea want to be a god, herself? Much less a mother?
I don't think so. She states at the end of SS "I wished desperately to be held in my mother's arms once more", very clearly placing herself in the role of child when it comes to Sothis (funny, she can only admit to this when she knows it is no longer possible).
Here's a much harder, question, then, is Rhea a mother despite her own wants? Let's dig in!
As her new FEH unit aptly puts (in both her Japanese and English title for it) Rhea is quite literally the matriarch of the entire Seiros religion. Even if it is, as hinted, based on what the Sothis religion looked like while the goddess was still alive it was created by Seiros, named after her, and has been strictly guided by the same archbishop for a millennia now.
She is also the creator of twelve living beings or vessels - ending with Sitri (and this is not to mention her altered golems, all named after people dear to her). Textually, there is no doubt that as a creator to one who "loved as a human" and someone who, to use an alternate translation of Sothis' magical circle, was indeed "a creature who possessed a heart", Rhea is a mother, even going so far as to say that is exactly how Sitri viewed her.
It is telling though, isn't it, the way she phrases it? While she acknowledges she was a mother figure to Sitri, and even admits to affection toward her* -- nowhere does she ever say she considers Sitri her daughter.
She would never truly be able to admit that, after all; to be a mother is simply not something Rhea can ever comphrehend because it would put her as equal to her mother ("I have only ever been acting as your proxy" she tells Byleth when still convinced they will awaken as Sothis).
And yet, despite it all, she has indeed become one in her single-minded pursuit to bring the dead back to life.
Post canon would she ever be able to come to terms with all this? That's a little bit out of the range of my portrayal I have to say, but probably only in her endings where she goes to live with Catherine in Zanado and actually has time time to unpack all of the lies she's told both the world and herself.
*I want to add that, in her own weird, winding Nabatean way, I do think Rhea at least considered Sitri to be family or special. I went into this more in another meta but never added what really sets it apart to me: the reason she gave Sitri a private open casket burial and preserved her body, in my opinion, is because this is something she never could do for the rest of her family (tfw ur either a pebble or sword). It is one of the highest forms of love an eternally grieving woman like Rhea can give.

Azure Gleam - Ch 3
It says it's prologue, but it's the third chapter of the game, so that's what I'm calling it.
In case you're wondering. Yes, I despise that person now. First villain I've ever truly HATED in this game.
STORY
I love how Arval calls what happened to Tomas a "conclusion."
Still seems weird they trust Shez so fast.
Though, I wonder if Dimitri recognizes her power as the same as those from Duscur and will suspect her?
Dimitri being a sweetie and checking on Shez. Assuring her that her power isn't evil, it's just a matter of who is using it. And hearing him speak somewhat positively of his own strength this time. 😊😊😊 I should've known it would be him being nice instead.
RODRIGUE, my beloved 😊😊😊 But we didn't get to see him
So it was Rufus. Not surprised. Declaring war on Rodrigue. Gross. Felix sounded pissed.
Wow, Rufus, trying to claim Rodrigue wants to make Dimitri his puppet king. That takes some imagination. Or is it just Cornelia using him?

WAIT, WHAT????? Rufus had Dimitri under basically house arrest, spied on, and went through all his letters??? WTF??? Was it really Rufus or Cornelia? Poor Dimitri. That explains why he's so distant from everyone.

I love how the knights seem to actively want Dimitri to lead and want to work under him, not Rufus (or Cornelia).
I'm 100% doubting Felix's denial that he's not bothered by the false rumors about Rodrigue.
Yeesh, Rufus is a real shithole, hunh. If you piss Dedue off, you're probably a trash level human being. And he tried to harm Dimitri countless times? The writers just love beating up on Dimitri.
So that campaign Dimitri put down was an attempt to kill him? And Rufus send assassins after Dimitri??
I mean, I always kinda headcannoned that Dimitri's life after Duscur had to be a living hell because all of his father's closest allies (sans Rodrigue, Gautier, and Galatea) got killed, but it's kinda cool to see headcannon go cannon.
And no wonder he and Dedue are attached at the hip. They were probably both targeted for violence quite a bit.

Am I bias, or is Dimitri and Shez seem more natural/cuter than the other lords. I know, I'm just bias.
STORY

Dimitri wants to resolve this without bloodshed.
Rufus just . . . ripped the letter up. And called Dimitri a "creature." And keeps trying to kill him.
And . . . calls him a rapid animal . . . uhhh, wonder where I've heard that before. Like, Rufus is talking about Dimitri, the same way he talks about himself. And Felix. I wonder how much he heard that shit from Rufus.
Like, I can't remember that last time I hated a character so much so fast.
This is going full Hamlet/Lion King, guys. He helped set up Duscur, the asshole.
Cornelia really is the only effective member of TWSITD.
Why does this game always have Dimitri have to kill his family.
Felix being helpful as always lol.
And Dimitri avoided this for so long to avoid civil war and avoid killing his uncle. But so happy Shez is supporting him.

Guys, I cannot wait to get to the mini-camp thing in this route. The other two routes had such cool lore bits and etc . . .

FUCK YES!!! Dedue + Rodrigue team up to restore Duscur wasn't on my AG bingo card exactly, but it's hype as shit. And Rodrigue volunteering to take the blame for Duscur to keep Dimitri's name clear 😭😭😭
Rodrigue just telling it to Felix straight. But Dimitri saying he's going to talk to Felix anyways. Because Felix can't go back to school now either. I just love, Dimitri, ok? This is so the opposite of the other lords who just never talk to anyone and hide everything.
And Dimitri telling Gustav you're staying put. Not putting up with his shit. "I will make a place for you." 😭😭😭😭
Reorganizing the army?

Oh, great, he's promoting Shez too, lamo. But smart to make his own private army removed from Rufus, wanting people strictly loyal to him. But he's supposed to be the stupid one.

Man, Dimitri over here making all the changes. I seriously love this so far. But unless Dimitri or the other Blue Lions got bad writing, I was always going too lol.
Ah, Shez accepted with no prodding from Arval? These two are kind of sweet.
