What do you think about Naomi Argento, Nina Balmer, Yelenika Lavrentyeva and what is your opinion about them?
Naomi is pretty much a head-canon for me (that's how much I adored her role in the movie). She was a well rounded and sympathatetic character that you easily like.
Nina hardly got screan-time, so hard to comment on her apart from feeling more sympathy towards Jodie as her friend.
Yelenika was a more unique character who was a lot more grayer morally, but ultimately a very sympathetic character grieving the loss of her child. She is comparable to Curacao on certain aspects of her personality, but with more of an attitude.
devastated there isnt current a gif of Conan grabbing the gun from Yelenika and lowering it, only to give her a hug while she cries and mourns her husband and her son
like i just want a gif of that so bad. Conan doesn't really show a more emotional side akin to this very often but it's just, its so true to his character. he really is just that kind and empathetic and its CRIMINAL we don't get to see it more often.
IT WAS JUST..... its a small moment but man. just. man.
Despite the obvious title and villain once you watch it, this movie was awesome. No matter how commercialized the movies have gotten over the years, they are still a joy to watch. This one in specific was great. It’s always nice having Kazami and Tagaki interact. Any story involving Rei and his classmates I’ll always watch. I loved the interactions between Conan and Yelenika, maybe more so than any movie character so far. It was so refreshing seeing how all she wanted was to make sure he stayed out of danger. Losing her husband and brother definitely set her on her ways of revenge but losing her son was what broke her and left her in a state of pure hatred. From the first meeting in the warehouse with “Jinpei”, and her telling him “I don’t want you to end up like my son” started it all. It made him think and gave him what he needed. And the confrontation when she didn’t pull the trigger, not that she couldn’t. Conan made her see something that she had not seen in a long time. When she was yelling at him, letting out her frustrations and Conan just giving her something she needed. Desperately needed at that… a simple hug. That personally shocked me. Her going “who is this boy” towards the end made her see that he’s no kid. He’s a protector like her, doing whatever he needs to do to get the job done. And arguably another of my favorite parts was KAZAMI. My guy maybe becoming a top 10 character of mine. He came through in this movie all the way around. That neutralizing foam was so clutch. Not to mention the post credit scene.. Tagaki’s funeral was so damn funny, a remake of the scene that started the movie but it was a nice bow tie on top.
