“Magnus.”

Alec’s been calling his name for a while but the warlock doesn’t respond.

“Magnus.” He calls again.

He walks over to his husband and pulls him closer by the waist.

“Hey.”

Magnus’s eyes finally meet his but they look so hollow and empty that it makes Alec’s heart speed up in worry.

“Baby, talk to me.”

“Make it stop.”

Alec grabs his face gently and speaks.

“Make what stop?”

“Please make it stop. I can’t-“ Magnus pleads.

“Magnus. Please tell me what’s going on. You’re worrying me.” Alec asks urgently, not knowing how to help him.

A sob wracks through Magnus’s body and he almost falls to the ground but Alec catches him and gently lays him down.

“29 times.”

Alec brushes away the hair from his forehead and kisses him over and over.

“29 times what?”

“I have watched you die 29 times. I can’t do it anymore. Please make it stop Alexander.” He begs and breaks down against Alec’s chest in a way he never has.

“Easy for you to say.”

“What does that mean?” Alec asks defensively.

Magnus doesn't even know how long he has been in this shit for. He is absolutely done and doesn't really care what comes out of his mouth at this point.

“I have watched you die seventy five fucking times Alec. You don't know shit about how I'm feeling right now. Nobody can.” He all but yells, even though they never yell at each other.

Magnus loves Alec. Alec loves Magnus. There's just a teeny-tiny issue of immortality.

Magnus Bane will lose the love of his life to immortality one day. But before that, he will lose him a thousand times over.

A chaotic, mess of a fic, where Magnus gets trapped in the same day and witnesses his husband dying in his arms, every single time.
