one of my packmates shared some slavic witchcraft with me last night and i cant stop thinking about it. maybe its time to reach out to полйсун?
полйсун & his wife лйсунка are dieties of wolves, and are closest connected to вовкулака. they turn neglected and abused children into wolves, and lead wolves to food, etc. this can be interpreted as вовкулака but is more likely to be the origin story for all regular wolves; вовкулака can be cursed by their mother's sins from birth, which could be easily argued means intergenerational trauma or passing on abuse
as a certified abused child (and also cool werewolf) myself, obviously i feel like i have a connection with полйсун/лйсунка! they already feel like my parents in some way or another, so im really terrified of rejection. it doesnt help that the only way i know to pray for them is by howling, but i cant do that because i live with others. i cant really think of any other way to use witchcraft to get their attention either :0(

Цей допис планувався одразу після МР2023, але шось пішло не так.
Мені подобається поповнювати домашню колекцію #зверстано іншими мовами. Зазвичай це звісно комікси мовою оригіналу.
Цього разу завдяки @onihayato маю польське видання "Wdówka", ще й підписане Бараньком на коміксовому фесті у Лодзі.
Наша "Вдовичка" вийшла у видавництва Vovkulaka
Польська "Wdówka" вийшла у видавництва Timof
Як такого геніального порівняння не буде, бо я в цьому не майстер.
Наше видання — це 100% натурального авторського українського, так як воно є. Без будь яких змін та втручання (звісно що були втручання та зміни, але це були чисто виробничі моменти).
Натомість у польському виданні використано типовий коміксовий шрифт, що в свою чергу не є погано. Більше того, це шрифти до яких ми звикли і тому вони простіші у сприйнятті.
Ну і очевидно маємо різницю у форматі видань. "Добротно" на противагу "ергономічному". Мені імпонують обидва формати, тому фаворита нема в цьому питання.

i don't mind telling at all! it used to be a junmei-centric (like, very much. i can't remember where the rest of tgcf characters were supposed to be lol) vaguely modern ukraine au with magic realism sprinkled in, but at this point it's more of an original thing @seiden-spinner and i are mulling over
wherein the used-to-be-mnq is a witchling whose mom made a deal with a chort (used-to-be-jw) promising him her firstborn as payment (as one does), so years later not-jw shows up to not-mnq like "hey! you belong to me" and not-mnq, being kind of a lonely kid, is like "you know what, sure", and for some time they work together as a witch-chort duo (and maybe a lonely kid is not immune to a 1.91m tall creature with horns and earrings. mayhaps). then horrors ensue (lesser scale than tgcf of course, but a village does get massacred), they have their messy breakup, and not-mnq spends the next 200 years of ukraine's messy history alone and unable to die, before they meet again in modern day and uh...... uhhh 😳
#it's important to note that not-mnq inherits the grey xianxia hair. the коса is non-negotiable#there is also a vovkulaka/perelesnyk pair having their own little thing. between the four of them vovkulaka is the normal one#a proper tgcf ukrainian folk au would be extremely sexy though. hx would make a great vodyanyk#and mavka qr??? more likely than you think#mari asks

Vovkulaka починає передзамовлення на «Cyberpunk 2077. Твій Голос» за авторством Александри Мотики і Марцина Бляхи з малюнком Данієля Жежеля і Кшиштофа Островського.
Під час чергової зміни самотній техпрацівник стає свідком сутички між таємничою незнайомкою і бандою «Вихор». Утікаючи, вона передає йому чип. my little contribution to this AU that i’m playing with @engelsschwert and oh my, wonder who those two fluffy dorks are :3 drawing all this fluff was a blast, and i’m pleased with background for once. score!
i have to admit: meeting up western werewolf with eastern wolfpelt (vovkulaka) is such a fun twist, i can’t get enough of it. having them both absolutely convinced they’re the only “proper” type of man-turned-wolf is hilarious

i kinda wonder if i even could be a rodnover if i wanted to. family is a huge part of rodnovery but my family situation is complicated. i am ethnically ukrainian but i will be the last of my bloodline & im cutting off my family when i move out. a huge part of rodnovery is also connecting with ancestors through prayer, of which i'll have none. im going to try to find any specific vovkulaka or wolf stories i can & pray to them as my ancestors LOL
in rodnovery there is justice, not forgiveness, so it may be allowed considering my family has been so abusive to me & thats why im cutting them off? i also consider полйсун & лйсунка to be my true parents because of this, because they adopt abused/neglected children to raise into wolves... so... yeah i dont know
even if im allowed though, i dont think i'll actually call myself a rodnover anyways. there are some areas where they are very conservative which im not really cool with. maybe i'd call myself a neo-rodnover? "neo-native slavic faith enjoyer" doesnt roll off the tongue lol
