Holy shit, village of the angels was so FUCKING good, like this is the first time since blink that they’ve actually been scary and I think if it wasn’t for the cutaway scenes to the other flux related stuff going on, I’d like it more than blink. Like, I hope we one day get a version of that story that’s more self contained like a target novelization or something cuz hot damn that was the shit!

Christmas Special (2009) & New Years Special (2010) "The End of Time"
s13 ep4 (2021) Flux/Chapter Four "Village of the Angels"
Listen, I don't know if this has been done before and I don't know if my information is correct but
look at the way they're covering their faces. all three of them. idk if it's true but I remember one of the women being the doctor's mother. covering her face like a weeping angel. and then the doctor turns into one???

I know a lot of the doctors body language here can be attributed to watching the angels but i cant help think she gets noticeably less tense after Jericho let's go of her

Can I be honest with you who tumblr? I always thought the weeping angels were overrated and paled in comparison to the True Scary Moffat MonsterTM, The Vashta Nerada!
Village of the angels has changed my opinion. I apologise for my error and any distress it may have caused 😔

too tired to think right now so i’ll leave my typical musings for tomorrow but village of the angels is really really good. i love when doctor who plays with the supernatural/paranormal especially incorporating 60s/70s “psychic research”/haunted house aesthetics (i’d have 2 nickels, etc. why do people hate hide? it’s s7b’s best) + ‘weird england’ type settings + angels are iconic without question and that division reveal had me shocked. of course no time lord atrocity should be a surprise by now but it’s still horrifying to imagine that they had a death squad of weeping angels on their payroll
oh, and the cinematography’s beautiful, it’s been gorgeous this whole series, especially compared to the blandness and awkward filming angles of the previous two. i obviously have my issues with the whole ‘the division’ concept and the doctor’s forgotten past, but that’s a gripe more to do with the timeless child arc than anything expressly going on in flux. flux continues to keep my eyes glued to the screen. i really like flux. give it a chance
